The best revenge... (73,905) by Norman from USA Is success. This was not it. And it's not a dig at Remy or the original song, because I like them both individually. The problems here are: 1. This is not a remix. I don't even know what to call it, but it's definitely not that. 2. This collabo offers nothing new or needed to the track. 3. The promo for this was totally predicated on the GP's knowledge of the feud between the three women, and then doesn't deliver, in the least, on that premise. 4. By not delivering, it brings the heat down on Mariah because it's her song, and because this will be compared to Shether. It's inevitable. And it won't be pretty. This was a badly conceived and poorly executed stunt (even if I did enjoy the promo). At the end of the day, the revamping of this song won't attract any new fans for Mariah. And it won't do anything to silence those who are concerned about the lack of vision or direction in Mariah's camp. Instead, it actually bolsters the ridicule of the recent missteps, and gives the skeptics something else to hold on to. It seems like an exercise in futility. If Mariah's camp wanted to capitalize on Remy's new found fame, it would've better to collaborate on a whole new song, or completely rework this song. The song was already dead in the water, they didn't have to worry about keeping it afloat. So making a really good remix shouldn't have been a problem. I don't buy that Mariah just love Remy that's why this happened, no this is to add fuel to that Remy vs. Nicki and even that Mariah vs. Nicki, and they totally failed already. They can't even change the single cover for it and literally just paste Remy's verse. This is beyond disappointing and unnecessary. I Don't "Remix" (73,903) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines I know it's been pretty much official for years now but I guess this is yet another confirmation that the 90s and early 00s queen of remixes has forgotten what "remix" actually means. It's called "re-mix" for a reason. It's not called "take-the-original-chop-off-a-verse-or-two-replace-it-with-a-rap-verse-by-(insert rapper here)-and-then-call-it-a-remix". I Don't no-mix (73,900) by CMC from NY,NY I'm aware of the new rules regarding Billboard and remixes being changed too much and not charting as same song. Which is all very weird because they're no longer remixes and should just be promoted more as a new "feature" on the track. Mariah being the musical genius that she is I would think that this bothers her, considering her past masterful remixes. That being said, "I don't" was far from a Billboard hit, believe it didn't even break through to 80? A remix with Remy tacked on won't do anything. Therefore it seems bizarre she wouldn't do a proper actually remixed song because she's so concerned about the month old non charting original version to chart higher. She could have taken this as a creative opportunity at this stage in her career to go back to the true remix and forget the new "charting rules". Get attention for turning tables on the rules and create a great women power anthem remix. The theme of "I don't" had obvious potential for that. Remy Ma is hot right now and perfect for that type of anthem, a la Hearthbreaker Remix (ft. Missy plus Da Brat). Mariah, Remy, and Niki fans would all tune in to hear if there is that shade towards Niki. It could have been its own hit. Separate from the original, most likely more successful. It seems like an obvious win win idea. Yet what what we got, and they're calling a "remix" seems completely uninspired, lazy, thoughtless, and like Mariah doesnt even have that creative drive at all left. Very disappointing as a day one fan who's lived through the excitement of those true remixes. Unfortunately I'm really starting to not care, probably similar to Mariah. (Friday 24 March 2017; 04:17)

So I'm not concerned about that, but I hope it's not uninspired and lazy and half though out. I really miss Mariah's drive to push a project properly and to give it her all. She is taking up so many random projects left and right, and then she doesn't have much time left so she ends up not pushing any of her projects properly and they all seem to come out half done. Unless there is any financial crisis, I really wish she'd take on less projects and prioritize quality over quantity. But there must be some financial situation involved because Stella said straight up that she was hired to make Mariah more money. So that explains her taking up all the crappy stuff. Mariah has love for a lot of artists and they love her right back but did they all collaborate? Nope. This collaboration happened only because they wanted people to talk about the feud. Mariah's voice was featured on the second Nicki diss track and of course Remy would need Mariah's approval to use her voice. And that song got falsely promoted as a "Remy featuring Mariah" moment. The Remy vs Nicki feud is nothing more than who's the best rapper, it's nothing personal or that serious. Also Mariah and Remy actually have a mutual respect for each other and are fans of one another's music. The Ante Up remix is one of Mariah's favorite songs ever and she loves Remy's verse on that record, she has said this on different occasions. Also Remy said how she is has been a fan of Mariah's as well she has even said how Mariah's Christmas music puts her in the holiday spirit among other compliments. Since there's no new vocals all I can really hope for is that at least the rap is decent. I too miss the days of Mariah doing a real remix. She used to make a song into something completely new. Coming from someone who's a fan of the rap remixes, there honestly was no need to do a rap remix or to try to capitalize off this Nicki /Remy fued (if that's even what they tried to do). Remixes (73,889) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) The rules with remixes and releases are different nowadays than years past. If you change the vocals and sound too much it's now considered an entirely new song. So maybe this is the reason for uninspiring, lazy remixes today. Though it's disappointing because I have became so spoiled with the sheer brilliance of an MC remix. I just wish MC would put the effort into her craft like she did early on in her career. She was so complimentary and gracious when asked about Ariana and John Legend taking on Beauty and the Beast. This idea that Celine was rude to Aretha Franklin is just plain ridiculous. Celine doesn't strike me as a person who shades others compared to Ms. "I don't know her". On Chain of Fools, MC was going at it with Aretha too. They were both trying to out do each other, most notably at the end. Was MC being disrespectful? No. Why even ask the question? It was a Divas show. People want to hear them ladies sing. Period. I honestly don't get why after so long, anyways here is the link to it. Nothing new and it's just another "copy and paste" moment. I honestly wonder what happened to the "queen of remixes" Mariah. She used to come up with fire remixes and now we only get cut and paste collaborations. They probably wanted to cash in on the Nicki feud, but it was pointless.
