Re: Sylvia Rhone (75,164) (75,169) by Edward from USA
Since LA Reid was kind of too complacent with Mariah, I hope this new person light a fire on Mariah's ass so she could start being serious about her career and produce some great music, even if it's out of anger. She could deal with the anger taking some classes for management after the great success of the album. She's signed to a business, and they don't want to make a few coins every three or fours years. Waiting a hundred years to put music out with so many new acts coming left and right doesn't make sense, especially when your star is fading, just like what happened with everybody else. Nobody stays on top for ever. If Mariah were selling like in the 90's, a few years hiatus would be OK, but at this point in her career, she should be in the public eye, but not for perfumes and reality shoes, but for her music.

I think this is (was) what Stella proposed to Mariah and why she agreed and unfortunately it led to Mariah's World because Stella wants so desperately to turn herself into the next Kris Jenner and Miskha into Kendall.

Re: Sylvia Rhone (75,164) (75,167) by B from USA
She was wooing Mariah when she left Sony. Unfortunately, she was outbid by Nancy Berry and Virgin. I think she's a fan of Mariah's and I think unlike Reid she won't tolerate Stella which is a bonus since Mariah isn't going to chose Stella over her career, her craft. I think this move could be what's best for Mariah. I had hoped LA would be the one to help Mariah make a comeback but he allowed her to release Infinity and then made comments that showed he viewed her as only a legacy artist until recently and that was just an attempt to save his own career. If they do have to choose between Mariah and JLO Mariah will be the chosen one. Simply because she writes and produces her material which means they don't have to pay writers and producers huge fees for her.

L.A. Reid out at Epic Records, Mariah's deal in (75,166) by B from USA
I wasn't wrong when I said LA was banking on Mariah next album being a success. Unfortunately, he was fired before being able to orchestrate his and Mariah's third act. Hopefully, Epic is still going to make Mariah's next release a priority seeing as how the only viable act on the rooster is Future which might explain Mariah working with him.

Travon, nice seeing you around. I was just thinking about sending "Todd from Australia" to pay you a visit and make you post more often. I know that wigs, weaves, hats, fake boobs, and Sunday church dresses have been snatched here from time to time, but we're still here. Mimi L. even changed her continent, she used to be from Asia. Andrew has risen from the dead after all his many cyber-hangings and crucifixions. We have Stella posting as if she were from France, and then replying to herself with her other account where she's from Africa. See, everything is crazy, but we get along, sometimes. Lol.

Sylvia Rhone (75,164) by RibbonB from USA
Well perhaps Ms. Rhône will take over LA's spot at Epic. She was at Mariah's walk of fame event with LA. She seems to have some class, maybe she can convince Mariah to cut or limit ties with Stellar.

Re: Butterfly / MC LA is leaving Epic (75,163) by RibbonB from USA
Wonder what LA's departure will mean for the new Butterfly MC label deal? Will it fizzle before even bearing fruit? Some reports are saying he was fired.

Re: Article: Mariah filming HBO documentary, "A butterfly in Vegas" (75,154) (75,162) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Let's be real, Mariah's World was never meant to be a Mariah tour documentary. It was meant to be a stepping stone for the Bulochnikovs show. I'm sure it was sold as a tour documentary to Mariah by saying "oh it'll be like that Beyonce documentary" but first of all Mariah would never be completely open and real in front of rolling cameras and secondly Stella probably later made it look like E wanted the drama and not Stella so they had to re-shoot shitty scenes. HBO on the other hand would have been a proper documentary and the HBO audience don't give 2 craps about Mishka living vicariously through Mariah's instagram and trying to get followers for her own and Stella being a mess of a manager who, had she gotten proper education, would know that there is a thing called time zone difference.

I don't know how I feel about this. I didn't like the idea of LA having to stand over Mariah and make her come up with great music, but when he did put his foot down with her we ended up with a great album. This new person may not be able to bring it out of her or motivate her musically. I can't say whether this is good or bad for Mariah.

I still hope this could happen someday. This was the best idea ever. There's probably tons of footage from the SSFT and the Vegas shows that was cut because they wanted mess and drama.

Re: LA is leaving Epic (75,156) (75,159) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh yes, that's a good way of looking at it. I do wish she stepped out of her comfort zone and outside of the LA Reid and Jermaine zone, even though I love JD and he has made some great records with Mariah. I don't mind them working together but I'd really like her to venture out more. And yes this new person may bring her focus back on music by giving her the real and not worrying about ruining a personal relationship like she had with LA. Last but not the least, I hope Stella is the first to get a heave ho.

Hey Travon, miss you too dahlin'. Yes as long as Mariah's career is safe, I don't really care where LA moves. I also hope that this was known to her and not a sudden change because she did move to Epic to be with LA Reid. Excited for the new album, whenever it comes.

Re: LA is leaving Epic (75,153) (75,156) by Malcolm from Asia
We'll see if it will benefit Mariah. I think it's great that other person will take in charge of whatever Mariah is into because I feel that Mariah became too comfortable with the familiar faces that she works with so this can push her work ethic again and set a different tone for her. Who knows maybe this person can influence Mariah to fire that opportunistic woman, now it's a good news.

Hey Mimi L. Miss most of you guys. I thought the same way too Mimi L but Sony will lose more money if she walks again. She sells in excess of 400,000 copies WW in back catalog sales alone. They can't afford to see her walk a second time. She will probably cite breach of contract if she was to leave. Sony makes more money with her on the label vs. when she is off the label. Her having her own label definitely helps everyone. I think this will be great but I am hoping that her partnership will change to directly with Sony and not Epic. This sounds like a Win-Win for everyone. Except LA Reid of course.

If she just have a different management, HBO is definitely the first choice for the documentary. A good team knows that E is for drama and all that crap and HBO exudes with class, it's a common sense.

LA is leaving Epic (75,153) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
LA Reid is leaving Epic, I wonder what that means for Mariah. I mean on one hand it's good since he basically wanted her to become a cover artist and let's not forget his single choices are horrible post TEOM. But I wonder who's stepping in and how he/she will deal with Mariah.

It was probably too classy and drama-free for Stella. I mean it's HBO after all, they wouldn't be here for some cheesy E Network crap.

Re: Songs that you love that aren't fan favorites (75,089) (75,150) by Tijl from Belgium
Definitely:
- Triumphant and the dance remixes (Pulled me through a rather difficult period.)
- Almost Home (A shame the movie was a bit of a flop as it had an effect on the success of the song.)
- Sweetheart (Wonderful memories of that time when I was still in college. I kept asking for this to be played in the bar where my posse and I used to hang out. The owner almost got a warrant against my song requests. Still love it today. She never looked better.)
- I still believe (Especially because of the epic video. Mariah in those days truly was a combination of killer looks with an angelic voice. Nice tribute to Marilyn and she does look bloody fantastic in this video. I don't mind the hot soldiers either.)

I got to make a correction, this article said Tarkan received $500K while Mariah received $250K. Sounds unbelievable

Re: Rediscovering (75,142) (75,148) by Terna from Nigeria
Haha. I played "Memoirs" in its entirety recently too. It's a solid album and very cohesive. I even prefer it to "E=MC2" and you're right that album is haunting and dark if I were to describe it. Plus she has the ultimate diss song that would ever be written "Obsessed". Haha poor Eminem it's ended him for good. But you know my absolute favorite of all those songs? The one that didn't make the final cut "Skydiving" the sadness, the pain, the longing. Wow. A lifetime story told in just 3 minutes.

I've always prefered the album version. I love the remix but I miss Mariah's belting.

Mariah received half the price of Tarkan (75,145) by Capri_ from China
I don't know whether it's true, but after I read this article I got to say it seems that Mariah received $2.5 million while Tarkan received $5 million. It's hard to describe my feelings now.
