Article: Sigala set to collaborate with Mariah Carey (72,583)
by Martyn from England, UK

I'm actually quite surprised Mariah is interested in working with him, as his sound is very EDM, but I'm glad. He's current and I really enjoyed his sample of Always Be My Baby.

Mariah's team does take notes, but not the type you want, they are busy collecting green notes (i.e. money) wherever and whenever they can get it. Because Stella needs her 10% or 20% or whatever she charges Mariah.

Ugh, I'd rather see her and Da Brat together if that's the case. At least Da Brat is real, plus Mariah always seems so happy when she's around.

What if Stella wants to but Mariah is the one who declined? But I agree, even just her presence there and seeing her socializing with other artists will do her image good. I can say that the passion on her is still there but it's not like as it was back in the day and apparently it's not enough to make her go to these awards shows anymore, like literally she has her own world. Even Celine is there and it's nice how they introduces her for an event like this, it really fits for a legend like she is, but on the other hand, seeing Mariah's peers on those award shows makes me sad for her because she should've been treated like that, she should've been celebrated like that but nope, Mariah chooses the other direction. She's just so out of touch from the music industry, it's disappointing.

I find it strange that fans assume that if Mariah wants to perform at some awards show or tribute that the organisers are willing to invite her. After NYE I think many organisers would say "No, thanks." So maybe Mariah wanted to perform at the Grammys, but the organisers preferred Adele and Beyonce.

Exactly, Mimi L. I had a feeling Mariah wasn't going to be performing at the Grammys after I saw pictures of her at that party Saturday night bowling and drinking instead of resting her voice. I was still hopeful, though.

I'm also hoping Mariah watched the Grammys and decides to make some changes within her team. She deserves better.

Yup, Benny may be all of those, but unfortunately, there's a couple things he can't provide that Stella can in spades: 5. A creepy family with no respect for boundaries whatsoever. 4. A complete disregard for class and proper decorum. 3. Top-notch kiss-ass-ery. 2. Misled attempts at "female-empowerment". 1. Sweet lady kisses at night. (I really wouldn't be surprised if Marella are endgame, even if the relationship is actually one-sided - yeah, Stella, better find another.)

Mariah doing George Michael tribute / Grammys (72,575)
by Sheila from United States

Since Mariah's team is unprofessional and stupid, of course they would not use music's biggest night to prove Mariah can sing and get her some industry respect. Mariah is worst than Whitney before she passed. All time career low and Stella could care less.

First of all, Adele is a very, very gracious person. Her acceptance speech for her Album of The Year award is so genuine and passionate. I agree with her that Lemonade should have won that award, but I don't mind that she won those big awards at all, because she's talented and she deserves those awards (although I was rooting for Beyonce, she was definitely snubbed). Also, can we talk about that beautiful Beyonce performance? That performance is so poignant. So graceful. From her restrained yet powerful vocals to the stunning visual effects to the delicate choreography, it was flawless. Adele's tribute to George Michael was also so, so beautiful. Mariah's team, take notes.

Major events (72,572)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I miss Mariah walking the red carpet at major events like award shows and all. I wish she'd just show up sometime and let her presence be known and maybe even get some inspiration from the performers. I feel like her being away from music related events is not really a good move. Can we get Benny Medina back? He gets JLo into every relevant show and everything (even when she has nothing to promote), and before you all bring up the "well did it help JLo's sales? Because Mariah sold more with MIAM than JLo's AKA", I am well aware of that but think about it, both Benny and Mariah have something and lack something. Mariah has the talent, the skills and the voice to make a big impact but she lacks the support team to push her work and to fix her image and to basically reinforce that she is a legend and a superstar (not a reality star). On the other hand, Benny has the skills, the connections, the drive and the ability to make to do exactly that but his client, that is Miss Lopez, lacks the skills, the talent and the voice. So simple solution really, give Stella to JLo and get Benny for Mariah. Because Benny plus Mariah is unstoppable. He can use his drive and connections and most importantly his management skills to really push Mariah's work and get her in all relevant places and make her presence known while Mariah can work on her end and provide the good songs and vocals.

No, I've read nothing but praise from everyone on Adele's George Michael tribute. To them - she continued singing and that was the most important thing. I love Adele, but I wish Mariah would've performed instead or at least made an appearance at the Grammys. It would've been a good opportunity to promote "I Don't" and the upcoming tour while on the red carpet.

I was in the audience for that show. She was so much fun, and there were so many funny bits that didn't make it to the final edit. She also sang I Want To Know What Love Is live and she did it in one take which surprised me. I still have one of the golden butterflies that they shot out on the key change in my memories box.

I agree with what you say that stars should be prepared for the cons of fame and celebrity but that doesn't make what goes on and what is said right. People go through things and hard times in their lives even them. I think it's unfair for us to expect Mariah to have her shit together 24/7. We only see the tip of what is going on in her life. I don't care what Mariah is wearing as long as she isn't hurting anyone, why on Earth should that give anyone the right to say things like that? Until she wears a sign on her head saying comment on my tits please, I won't agree with it. On one hand you say women shouldn't be subjected to remarks like that. But because Mariah is famous she should just sit back and let blokes say things about her like that or degrade her? I think we should be in a place where people like Mariah can still amaze people with her voice/talent, yet still be able to dress and live her life the way she wants to. It's not surprising some of these stars lose their minds when so many of us treat them like robots or animals, and that's just us. I can't imagine what it's like dealing with the twats that run that industry.

Beyonce at the Grammys (72,568)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

Wow, what a performance. Loser Tanaka take note. The woman barely moved yet she had one of the most powerful performance with stunning visuals and production. Beyonce actually has a team with a creative vision, same can't be said about the team surrounding Mariah. The same old lame old stuff are basically recycled in her case. Whether it's performances, or videos or promo plan. It really sucks.

59th Grammys (72,567)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines

Adele is such a humble winner. 25 is a great album, but she's right - Lemonade is the real Album of the Year. You know something is wrong when even the winner herself cannot accept her own award. Beyoncé's time will come. Hopefully by then the Academy has finally learned how to choose truly deserving winners. And I'm not just saying this because they robbed Mariah of at least ten Grammys over the entire course of her career.

Mariah should have been there praying tribute to either Prince or George Michael. Her team is so incompetent they don't realize if needed they need to pay big shows to allot time for Mariah if they want to prove that she still is "The Voice", but of course Stella's reach is up until TMZ and Gossip Cop.

I was just watching the Grammys and Adele had to start the song over for the George Michael tribute. I wonder if the press and media will give her a hard time like they did Mariah. With Adele and Mariah it proves things happen live you know.

I sincerely hope she is and that it was the best kept secret from her team. I saw something on TMZ sports that Mariah was at a PreGrammy party at Melonie Griffith's house. I pray Stella was able to work Mariah in to the George tribute as I know what a real fan MC was of him and his death really affected her. Also, it is a great platform to redeem NYE without going overboard and pay homage to her friend. We will find out soon I suppose.

Memoirs era interview (72,562)
by Billy from Greece

It really tickles me the wrong way to think that "Memoirs" was quite some time ago at this point. I just can't with how quickly time goes by, I just can't. I remember catching MC on the Alan Carr show on TV in my hotel room in the UK when the show first aired, which was either before or after the Westfield London event where I met her (yes, I'm repeating myself, I know). Anyway, rewatching this interview is so much fun. There's something so easygoing and playful about her during that era. Has it been almost eight years since "Memoirs"? Lord help me.

Re: "The Roof" video (72,525) (72,561)
by Jimbob88 from UK

The Roof is a masterpiece. The contrasting images of a lustful and liberated past with a luxurious, but confined, present is artfully done. I love the compositions - there is a certain feeling of energy during the roof shots, of life, people dancing, swaying, girls laughing, flirtation and lust. The venue may be gritty and exposed to the elements but it has people and passion. Compare that with the luxurious but sterile solitude we see Mariah during the limos shots - confined, a prisoner of her own success. She's restless, many of the limo shots show her anxiously moving, kicking her legs or swaying her arms, but she's trapped and the only way she can reconnect with her liberated past is to emerge from the limo's roof (oh the irony) to feel the rain drench her as the car hurtles down a canyon carved from skyscrapers. The image isn't triumphant, but of tragic resignation. The video ends with alternating shots; soaked scattered, half broken chairs from the abandoned party, an interior scene of Mariah standing against a wall (as her hair is dry, was this before the party? The viewer is subtly reminded that the way we remember is fragmented rather than linear and chronological) and that haunting image of a red-eyed Mariah (had she been crying?) reclining wistfully in her gilded cage. Tormented by her past.

Responses to Andrew's post (72,557)
by Robby from Chicago USA

I said this before and I am saying this again, if you keep reading and responding to his posts, you are just putting yourself in a very upsetting position. He is a provocative individual, that's what he does. We all know how he feels towards Mariah (pretending to be a lamb but is actually a wolf) but we can't keep him away nor ask the webmaster to block him because that's not the essence of freedom of expression. Let him say/posts anything he wants but if everyone ignores it, his pathetic ass will eventually get tired.
