Re: Will the real MC please step to the mic? (65,008) (65,009) by RibbonB from USA
That sounded good my friend, but it sounds like she wants to be a dolphin swimming amongst the sharks. We know how that can go. But hey, the real MC might actually be a top sea predator coming up from the deep to swallow up the lesser species or something. Lol. Whatever her thought process is, she seems in it to win it, for the money, the fame or whatever. Strangely she needs none of that. Even stranger, neither does Packer allegedly. But a lot of people who are estimated worth this or that, actually have far less than that in their bank accounts and a lot of projections are far from reality, not to mention the heavy overhead Mariah carries with all the hangers ons and handlers. And people with money can still be greedy or insecure and thirsty for more. I might agree with you if she hadn't done so many stunts leading up to the release of this series, but her actions make her seem a little desperate and thirsty IMO. The other people I get it, even though I don't watch any of it. They make a real come up when their shows succeed, Mariah's is a comedown no matter how I look at it. Big, big risk with marginal reward for her. There is more to this than meets the eye IMO.

Re: Will the real MC please step to the mic? (64,978) (65,008) by RJJ12 from USA
The reason why she is trying to differentiate it from calling it a "reality show" is because the people that are usually cast in reality shows are talentless hacks with no real careers being filmed doing the most mundane things like eating salads, gossiping about each other, and then having big blow ups with each over only to make up and then fight again. Manufactured drama. At least Mariah is being filmed touring, sounding and looking great and selling out arenas. None of these reality stars have the talent, catalog, or intelligence to obtain a fraction of Mariah's success. She said during the Complex interview that she realizes that times have changed in regards to garnering attention. If sure she feels that if these reality stars can garner enough attention to have successful ventures where they are only slapping their name on all these products and demand they be considered "talented", she can play the same game, be a hell of a lot more entertaining, and push her music.

Re: 25 Times Mariah Carey's Instagram... (64,971) (65,007) by May from Denmark
Somehow though, I feel that they are paying attention on Stella's camp. There aren't thousands of emoji anymore, no more million of hashtags, it's been weeks since the last pic of Mariah with Stella published on her Twitter and IG and Mishka seems to be learning some Mariahisms. There's some effort at least. I've been liking the late candid pictures. I am in love with her current photoshoot, finally Mariah looks audacious and as hot like in Emancipation. The red dress killed me, so perfect. I don't know about Packer, at times he seems very shy and introverted but it's like his hands are of another man, they are always touching in places hahaha.

No, there can't never be enough oiled men. I wished I had a human chair, sometimes I need opinions from my furniture when no one is around. Ofcourse you were not joking about Wendy, she is the most Mariah obsessed, bet she has MC picture fixed on top of her bed, the one on the throne haha.

Mariah's ex back in the picture? (65,005) by Ty from USA
TMZ got Mariah leaving dinner with the photographer Mark audacity who she was dating back in the day. Oh this era gets weirder and weirder lol.

I also forgot to mention that one of his latest ig posts is a photo with Boyz II Men. Hmmm. Maybe this is a Mariah tribute project?

Re: Mariah's Instagram picture lately (64,949) (65,002) by The Real Deal from USA
I agree. I am hoping that this is part of some "social experiment" that MC and her team are concocting in conjunction with the reality show. I am hoping that it is a type of "What Would You Do" segment that Mariah is on in, seeing if anybody would reach out to help her. The reason that I say this is because in all of the recent interviews (and press conference), Mariah seems very composed and down to earth as she always has, and it is definitely not reflective of the photos that we have been seeing of her on IG drunk, wasted, etc. This may also go into conjunction with her former dancer's post a few months back where he congratulated Bryan Tanka on his "new role". Let's hope that's what this is.

Another MC remake/cover song in the works? (65,001) by The Real Deal from USA
The singer Lovari (who previously posted an MC acapella on his FB page) uploaded a post on Instagram last night singing If It's Over, with the following caption: "Late night acapella vocal moments getting my Mariah Carey on. New album preview lamb lambily @mariahcarey (with her IG hashtag)." I'm assuming he is remaking If It's Over. Or is it a secret collab with MC? I doubt that because I don't think he is that well known. Reagrdless, still cool to see a younger generation covering her tracks, especially ones that weren't singles. His ig is @Lovari_

The View (65,000) by RibbonB from USA
It was funny to see the ladies of the View try to figure out why Mariah is doing this reality show. They played the clip. Only Raven was really excited to see the show. She doesn't care if it's a train wreck. The other ladies seemed a little or a lot concerned. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I hope it ends well for Mariah, all things considered.

Mirrored chair, psychological projection? (64,999) by Haiji Toro from USA
I can only think of these two quotes. I'm just so speechless, I couldn't even come up with my own words.
"She wasn't being methodological. She was being autobiographical." Steven L. Carter
"You painted a naked woman because you enjoyed looking at her, put a mirror in her hand and you called the painting 'Vanity', thus morally condemning the woman whose nakedness you had depicted for you own pleasure." John Berger

Re: WTF? (64,986) (64,998) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Her diva stuff is a caricature. For whatever reason she likes the image. (BTW not defending, nor judging her either, I just don't expect her to suddenly drop it, at least not anytime soon lol.) She clearly gets something out of the way she has chosen to project her image. She's aware it doesn't exactly make her "accessible" to the general public. If she was concerned about that, she wouldn't purposely draw attention to it and joke about it.

Hahah MC is just so "extra" sometimes. Like woman just stick to your regular velvet chaise lounge. While the press conference got great responses and Mariah's answers were pretty good and witty, I could do without the oiled men bringing her on stage. She has done this so many times in the past year, I just can't.

Reality show (64,995) by Butterfly from
Mariah denying it's a reality show cracks me up. You sold out. Deal with the consequences. Your manager is a reality tv producer and you signed a deal with Bunim/Murray. The series will follow Carey as she tours the United Kingdom, Europe and Africa while planning her wedding to James Packer, an Australian billionaire. But the singer made one thing clear: "I don't consider it reality," she said. Planning a wedding in front of the world like Kim K but it's not a reality show.

Re: Human chair (64,993) (64,994) by RibbonB from USA
Yeah I thought I read this and that M called them a human chair. It's just some over the top concept of luxury. I'm sure she will get lots of over the top reactions from the general public when they see it, if they see it.

Re: WTF (64,991) (64,993) by RibbonB from USA
I think she said they all represent a human sofa. This is the lady who is carried in on a chariot or whatever by her male subjects. The whole thing is over the top. The whole Complex cover makes her look like some kind of devilish dominatrix, but any racism is just subliminal if that. The seat may be a place of honor to her. Lol. Listen, this whole era needs to be decoded.

I didn't notice that he was black until you pointed it out. I was too busy trying to figure out why all of that was needed. Hopefully no sensitive person takes it to that level and makes it a bigger deal than it is.

Re: WTF (64,991) by Natalia from Italy
I never said that I thought Mariah was a racist. I just think it sends a bad message, that she is sitting on the black man. She may have nothing to do with it. It could have been choreographed by someone else. It is a subliminal message. Call me crazy if you want I don't care, I see it, and if you all don't then that is fine. I listen to what my heart tells me, it never steers me wrong.

Re: WTF? (64,980) Mariah is part black (64,989) by Sheila from United States
I'm not sure where all this bad energy comes from on this blog. Mariah Carey and her children are part black. Her ex-husband is black. Her father is part black. Do you people have nothing better to do than look for negatives?

Don't be ridiculous. Mariah racist *towards* black people? Lol if anything she wanted to sit on him *because* he's black. Where have you been for the past two decades? Ridiculous.

Re: WTF? (64,980) (64,986) by TJ from Norway
No, I am not bothered about what colour the guy underneath her got, I'm more bothered about the concept and diva act. I was also concerned that someone would react that way when I first looked at the picture. After being a fan for 26 years I start to get a little bit fed up her diva talk and act. She can try to convince us that this is the real her and so on, but I don't believe it. She has done that before on so many topics, and then change her statement years later.

Re: WTF? (64,984) (64,985) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Bryan Tanaka is also half Japanese. So basically all of them (except for the one on the far right, whose face can't be seen) seems to be of different races. I don't think she's a racist in any way. Her best friend RaeRae is black, her ex-husband (with whom she was head over heels in love with) was black. Her inspirations (Whitney, Patti, Aretha, Diana) are black. Her favorite collaborator, Jermaine Dupri, is black. Her biggest fan, Wendy Williams, is also black. Haha ok sorry about the last part, no Mariah may be a lot of things, but I don't think she's a racist.

Re: WTF? (64,980) (64,984) by lil star from untied states
Let's calm down, clearly the one standing up in the middle is also African American, and the one with the tattoos is mixed. Also let's not forget Mariah herself is of mixed race. Let's not be dramatic and try to read into something not there just because it's a social hot topic.
