Re: I actually like it (72,000) (72,014) by Andrew from UK
Anyone who says they "actually" like it is, probably, ironically, stating how shit it is. Mariah should embarrassed and ashamed. It seems that the non-delusional fans are. But then I think it's safe to say that Mariah doesn't feel shame and embarrassment or she'd have given up long ago. She has, undoubtedly, become a hot mess and pretty much ruined a once proud career. If I was Nick I'd go after full custody. She's clearly got mental health problems she does nothing to address.

I Don't (72,013) by Jono from USA
It has potential to be an urban hit, but it certainly won't hit mainstream success. To me this is more of an album filler, not single material. At this point I'm going to sound like a broken record, but they really dropped the ball with "You Don't Know What To Do". To this day, I know non fans who absolutely love that song anytime I play it. That could have been a bonafide smash.

"But it sounds more like a song on a remix cd." I can see that connection. Better that than released as a single.

He sounds a mess. His "rap" adds nothing to the song and is just terrible.

I Don't (my first impression) (72,009) by Terna from Nigeria
The beat is hard, a plus for me already, somewhere in the song I get Rihanna's "Needed me" verses flow, but then it gravitates towards the chorus which in my opinion is the strongest part of the song. I love the I don't scream at the end though. All in all, it's a well put together slow jam and will be an urban radio hit. 19th number 1? Far fetched. YJ needs to hush though he ruins it with that "I know you love me" noise. I still like the song though but come harder Mimi. I'm rooting for you.

Re: Not getting my $$ (72,004) (72,008) by MusicfanJ from Germany
What Mariah released in 97 was just wonderful music. She sounded fantastic and I love the lyrics so much from that time. That was Mariah Carey, with a new fresh sound but still Mariah Carey. I miss the time, where I was "addicted" to every new song. What I can't understand is that "I don't" get released as a single and "Meteorite" wasn't.

Yes, I agree the male background vocals are the only redeeming part of this song.

Re: I actually like it (72,000) (72,006) by May from Denmark
Yes, I thought the same, the chorus is very catchy. For some reason, you know when you hear something that later plays on your head a thousand times and you just want to die because it ain't going nowhere, well guess YG drilled that "you know you love me, you just don't trust me, you don't understand me" part haha, why that part only, why? I think the song might have a chance of doing good in the charts.

"I don't" hate it but "I don't" love it either. Time to hire some new and fresh collaborators Mariah, this will not work out for you, go innovate your sound.

Not getting my $$ (72,004) by G.G. from USA
Yet another Mariah music project I won't be buying. If someone would have told me back in 1997 that Mariah would put out music that I wouldn't buy, I would have laughed in their face.

I Don't (72,003) by B from USA
Mariah is in desperate need of new collaborators. I like the new song but I don't think it's worthy of being a single and the video is Madonna-esque. It does take more than one listen before it works itself into your brain. It isn't as memorable or infectious as Touch My Body but it is stronger than Infinity and Infamous.

I started to like it after a second listen (72,001) by Critter from USA
I don't know what else people expect. For me the depth of the lyrics is on par with any radio hits at the moment. And I didn't immediately like it but the hook part just sticks after first listen. I started to like it after a second listen (even though probably not Billboard top 20 material). I don't, it clearly is the opposite of I do as often said in a wedding. So it makes a lot more sense to me than I can't (suggested by someone). Cheers.

I actually like it (72,000) by Jamie from UK
I personally like this song, it's radio friendly and easily catchy. Something fans have been asking for a while now. Too many people hating on MC I'm sure if it does well commercially everyone of you will all be loving it then. Yes I love Mariah from the 90's and yes she had lots of hits then, but it's not the 90's anymore. She won't be that person again, I'm not the same person I was in the 90's. People change and sounds evolve. Music like that isn't made anymore which is a shame but that's just the way it is. I don't think it's the best songs she's done but it's certainly not the worst.

Ok, retract (71,999) by Anonymous from
Have been playing the track on repeat since I got home, and me like. It won't be a hit but I'm really feeling the 90's soul vibe to it. The rapper part makes me laugh, a bit naff but it's not stopping me from jammin in the kitchen whilst making lasagne. Dare I say it? I think I might actually memorise the words to this song. If I was going through heartbreak because my man was being stink then I definitely think I would relate to the song more. It's still an album filler though, but hey, they're what help make an album right?

I don't? More like "I can't" (71,998) by Lee from UK
I'm not a fan of this song and will not be purchasing/streaming it. What happened to Mariah's songwriting skills? This sounds like it was over-produced by an amateur and the lyrics are shit. I've seen the video clips and I'm over it already. I'm over Mariah "being sexy". I'm over Mariah in leotards. This era needs to end abruptly and quickly. I never thought I'd say this but I do not want to hear another new Mariah song for at least 3 or 4 more years. She needs to go back to basics.

Re: Re: Full song (71,971) (71,976) (71,997) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha if you want Mariah's videos to represent the lyrics, all of them have to be as follows:
"Touch my body, check out my legs,
Let me swirl my hip and make a sexy face,
Touch my body, are my clothes not tight?
Hold on let me rip my top and get it right.
Touch my body, behold my fancy blings
And don't you forget the butterfly ring."
Haha Ok, I'll stop but I might develop that into a full song soon. (Eric I know you usually like to keep the posts in a paragraph but when you post this can you keep the "lyrics" in this format and not turn it into one para this one time please? Thanks.)

YG representing Jimmy Pack (71,996) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok so please tell me you all also heard YG say something like "give me my ring back, never mind you can keep that" haha, YG representing Jimmy Pack right there. I couldn't understand most of what he said except for "I'll make you love me, but you don't trust me". So I need the full lyrics to see if this is a "him versus her" situation.

Ok on second thought (71,995) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I listened to the song 4 times back to back after I got home just now, I'll admit the song is not as bad as I thought it was on first listen. The lyrics are still a little meh but I can live with that for now. I can't seem to get into the "boy I was bugging, thinking somehow I could trust you, I used to love, but I don't" part. The verses are nice though and flows well. I like the second verse more. The "when you love someone, you just don't treat them bad" has been stuck in my head since I heard it, and it sounds even better in the full version, it's the best part of the song. Another minor observation, the "love someone" ad lib over the chorus around the 3.28 mark kinda bothers me haha, it's like she attempted to ad lib then decided not to, but it's not a big deal. The song at least sounds complete and not like it stopped suddenly, which was a problem with some of her recent songs. So I'll say overall this is an improvement from her last efforts. Haha I think I spoke too fast when I said I liked "Infamous" better, but I think I said that because I liked the first verse of "Infamous" more than I like the first verse of "I Don't", however the chorus of "I Don't" is catchier and more radio friendly than "Infamous".

I Don't (71,993) by Mike from FL, USA
I must say I actually like it. The chorus, although a little dated, is pretty catchy. I don't (pardon the pun) know if it's necessarily a hit, but I quite enjoy it. Def miles better than Infinity and Infamous. Infinity never did anything for me at all. I can't get the chorus of this one out of my head now.

Don't please don't (71,992) by THE TRUTH from USA
Can't you just see Stella saying to her, "Just write something that goes along with our storyline, they'll buy it hook line and sinker. Everyone will feel sorry for you, we'll get a new season on E and another number 1 hit. You're so fabulous, here have another splash."

Re: Full song (71,983) (71,991) by May from Denmark
After listening to the full song I kinda like it. I don't hate it but I don't love it. It's the type of song that it would work nicely as a filler in an album, not as a single. It's obvious her voice is gone again, it doesn't sound awful but it sounds dried and limited, the ending is sort of repetitive after YG's part and it might likely be because Mariah, who is used to big climax stuff, has no more oil in the machine. The song overall is pretty, good like Infamous and the rapper sounds much nicer than Yussi and his autotune. It is definitely a step up from Lousinity. When is Mariah going to sing verses that aren't rushed and hard to understand? Sometimes it feels she is chewing hay. I won't be buying it but I will support her artistry with some spins or views, I think she tried but not hard enough. To add as conclusion, the song is a mix of weird tempos and dated RnB, I think YG sounded good but is more of the same, she could have done with less layering of her voice as for some reason it sounds so amateurish, like I could have done all that layer in a cheap software with little to no experience. At least there's no massive autotune.

She "don't" and I "don't" either (71,990) by Edward from USA
In my opinion, it's definitely better than Infamous, but I'm not impressed at all. If they promote it right, it might actually chart on the R&B charts. At least it is a song she could actually perform live without having to lipsynch.
