Do we complain or get her to nbr 1? (71,966)
by Sheila from United States
| |
|

If we group together, and focus we can get Mariah to number 1. Unity in numbers and we can deliver the ultimate fight to number 1. We can do this.

I Don't video (71,964)
by Andrew from UK

Not sure of the lyrics but I'll guess at them. "I don't act my age, I don't have any class. I don't know why the whole world thinks I'm a joke. I don't diet I just airbrush what I haven't had surgically altered. I don't know how to write music people want to buy anymore. I don't respect myself enough to put on some clothes and stop acting like a cheap dime store hooker." Them's gotta be the lyrics, right? Lmao come on, she's a [censored] mess. I knew it was eventually going to tank. I didn't know it was going to tank this badly.

Exactly, we could only speculate, but are also on the outside looking in. Only Mariah can tell that story. And since she's the one who came out of that relationship with deep steming issues, I'll be inclined to believe her much more than anything Tommy has to say. He seemed to move on unscathed.

I really like when she sings the chorus and the part that comes after which she sings with a deeper voice. But the video is same old, same old. Maybe it might have a storyline and they are only showing us the touchy parts just like in WBT. But I wished that since she is into this whole daring female empowered era, she would have come out with a much more interesting material, overall when it comes to the lyrics, to say something meaningful. Yes, couples break up and it hurts, we know it since ancient times. Hopefully the album is going to come with more deep stuff, like Outside. I don't mind her catsuits, but I wished she wore them with a fierce attitude rather than trying so hard to be sexy, at least it would make more sense. Just playing it like "cum herr baby" makes her look bad. I think she looks hot and beautiful, but that alone doesn't make it visually for me, I need a storyline, I need attitude, at least show that she is having fun like. I'm tired of the body touching, I know the hair touching won't ever go away, that has been there since day one, it's all over my Mariah's debut VHS haha. But come on, Boy, Heartbreaker, Honey, Say Something all show her potential. Even Can I Get Your Number and Sweetheart which didn't really have storylines look so much better and she still looked mad hot in both showing skin and lots of leg.

I honestly never read his book. He was controlling, no doubt, but that's why I asked in which way. Truth is he apologized, he got a new wife who bizzardly enough has an air to Mariah and happens to also be a singer. I always felt he just couldn't get over Mariah so he got what in his life could be a "second best", Thalia is also very happy-jumpy like Mariah, always with a big smile. I believe Mariah was deeply affected by the situation as she was very young, but her inability to just move on was obvious, that was until Nick. I think Nick helped her heal many things but during the divorce other things opened. But truth is that Mariah lives in constant victimization mode, everything bad that happens, be it business or emotional, it is always someone's else fault. You even mentioned a couple, as if the entire world is against her. Every time something explodes she calls it sabotage, and those around her call it sabotage, and I know is a Mariahism because before Stella came into the already sinking ship, she used that word a fair amount of times, then first thing that goes wrong Stella calls it sabotage, and there we go, the world again against Mariah, because everyone who crosses her path wants sweet revenge. We can't dear Nikki, there is a limit as to how much one can believe that Mariah is being attacked. She is always saying "because people don't know what I'm going through/went through" all while boating some exotic land, lounging on a sofa, sipping some wine, with her circus surrounding her. Yes Mariah, I can see how bad you are having it. You see Nikki, the image she projects constantly doesn't fit anything of the things she does, sounds like the terrible enduring jobs Paris Hilton and Ricci had to do in their old tv show, you know, "I lifted a finger, how hard that was, I need a break". From her perspective it is always like that, life is so hard. I think she is totally ready for Real Housewives, she already passed the scripted reality and the fake drama lessons. Not bashing MC, but just tired of the constant soappy mood and blank blaming.

After seeing the video teaser, I guess I'll just stream it on Spotify and listen through iTunes. I'm ignoring it like I ignored Mariah's World (probably would still rush as soon as the video drops to watch lol).

Todd, although I can't honestly say I'll always support everything, you aren't alone in your feelings. As much as I dislike the person she has become I'll always love her music. I refuse to let her antics as of late change my feelings on that. The music is what keeps me around, even when it's bad.

Sorry Mariah (71,954)
by Todd from Melbourne, Australia
| |
|
|
OK. So I'm alone (the other half is in Paris, stupid Melbourne), and tonight I put my iTunes on a Mariah shuffle. I heard songs I haven't even thought about for years. "The Wind", "Right to Dream", "Open Arms", "Butterfly", "Music Box". And I was reminded why I completely fell in love with this woman's voice, songwriting and charisma that no other artist has come close to (in my humble opinion). I'm exceptionally critical of the Mariah of 2017 (friends of mine take great pleasure in pointing out NYE and Mariah's World antics), but at the end of the day this is someone who, without going into soppy detail, saved my life 20 years ago - and without her I wouldn't be here typing this Sauvignon Blanc induced post. And for that, I literally owe her my life. Yeah, the Mariah's World era bugs the f**k out of me. Stella is a c**t. But ultimately, I will forever support Mariah Carey.

Mariah's new video: she has lost her touch (71,953)

Of course she's laying down on "something", trying to look sexy while going through her mid-life crisis. Thegrapejuice.net have you seen the comments? They wonder why Faded was paid dust but they release this garbage.

Article: Mariah Carey previews video for new single I Don't (71,952)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines

Okay, so from the preview it seems like another montage of fake-sexy shots possibly devoid of any narrative. I actually like (yes, just like) the song and this video just cheapens it. At least in the video for #Beautiful her outfits came off as flirty. That black PVC outfit screams bondage-gone-wrong. That white lace leotard isn't any much better either. And her "sexy" antics are just so try-hard at this point. The tired lemme show ya some leg, lemme stroke my hair, lemme gyrate slowly tricks seem so sexy 101 and only register as uncomfortable at best. That's not how you tease a video. And if those are the best shots then we are in trouble. Mariah serves awkward once again. The only thing I liked was how they stylized the song title in the end, with the words "I do" differing in color from the letters "n" and "t".

From the clip alone, I'm not feeling the rap. But let's see how the full version sounds. I mean I didn't really love the first snippet of the song but the longer snippet made me like it. So maybe the full version will help me like the rap too. She could have just gone solo though and added the rap for a re-sung remix.

I agree. I was actually excited about new music until I saw the video teaser and listened to YG. My gosh - what is happening to her? Is it bad that I want James Packer to release his side of the story now? Damn, I feel bad for him. I can't imagine that someone of his stature would willingly agree to be in a fake relationship with a superstar just so she can bash him later in order to promote her fake reality TV show and new music. I just can't. James, please come through. This nonsense has to end.

Wow, YG's rap sounds wack and the video looks weird to say the least. This is going to be interesting, but based on the longer tease I don't think I will get into this one. Some lambs are already gassing her up on Twitter though.

Mariah did fire Cindi. In fact, many of us on the board had been complaining about the fact Cindi was never releasing statements for Mariah or handling her in any way. Mariah had switched publicists 3 months before Cindi contacted Page 6. Mariah's full letter was published and it was very sweet. She applauded Berger's career and it was filled with thanks for her work up until that point, but stated she wanted to go a different direction. She wanted to honor her for her accomplishments as "woman of the year" and come up with a joint statement for the press. The sheer fact a publicist contacted a major gossip column to say they dumped an artist looks like saving face. You also seem to have a hard time distinguishing between what Mariah's official camp says and taking gossip columns "sources" as Mariah's word. I wouldn't take any James vs. Mariah's thing too seriously. It would appear they have contracts about being able to talk about it which would explain the current situation. She might have to aim for ridiculous if truly talking about it isn't on the table. There was something fishy about NYE. TMZ had a clip proving the album cut of Emotions was supposed to be played, but that's not the version DCP did live. Even boards for soundtechs were abuzz after that. They said it was bizarre that nobody jumped on stage to check her equipment, especially for a performance that long. DCP has had trouble keeping top talent for their show after Dick died, after all, why did they call Mariah to headline? However, even if MC has a right to be ticked, nailing them to the wall wouldn't be in her best interest. They're powerful and are in touch with a lot of other musically inclined shows. Stella should've gone with a joint statement.

So far it looks like the same expired trying to be sexy act when it is so unnecessary because MC is very sexy in her own right when she is not trying hard. Hopefully MC gets a clue and learns that she is losing with all the extra ness and losing big time.
