Re: Mimi L (71,436) (71,440) by Bill from the UK
The Rainbow tour was great. Throughout the show she had all these little skits going on, which were so funny. The best one was a beauty pageant where the contestants were called things like Miss Understood and Miss Informed etc., and Bianca also made an appearance too.

Same here. I'll remember the Rainbow era as the time when she left the understated, sophisticated sexy look of the Butterfly era and moved towards a more fun yet less-classy sexual bombshell/pinup girl image. This was the introduction to what she would look like for the next 5-6 years. This was also the time she started flaunting a more tanned skintone, and her breasts became noticeably bigger than usual. Still gorgeous, but significantly less conservative. It also was a rough period for her voice, as it was when the stress of the first 9 years of her career really began to show. It also probably was a major vocal transition as she lost a lot of fluidity and mostly sounded tired or hoarse.

The one. Yours. Subtle invitation. My saving grace, this cd sounds new and refreshing right now.

I agree. I always thought the Rainbow era was a little skankish (sorry lol), but looking through the old pics it really wasn't bad compared to some stuff now. Lol. Disclaimer for the captain save Mariah brigade: I was not calling Mariah skankish, but some of her fashion choices in my opinion were. Carry on. Lol.

I miss these times too. I wish I would've seen her live during the Rainbow tour. She was so much fun and looked gorgous.

Snaka (71,435) by Danny from Uk
I actually think Bryan Tanaka is so dull he's not even pumped or that good looking. At least Nick and even James to an extent had something about them. If Bryan stands a chance of getting close to her then so do the rest of us, let's all stay in the butterfly room like she promised.

Back to Mariah's voice (71,434) by Danny from Uk
I know we've all discussed this to death but does anyone remember when Charmbracelet came out and people said she'd lost her voice because of the whispering style vocals when I actually fell in love with her over that album and her voice had an excellent fullness to it. Now I think it's lost that quality, I never noticed it until MIAM because I love her voice on Memoirs too. Faded for me is the best track on her latest album but also where in my opinion you can really hear the thinness and lack of quality. Btw I saw the last tour and thought it was amazing.

Side note: The fan footage they show during the Hero performance is from Zurich, not from Paris. They showed me and I wasn't at her concert in Paris.

I don't think he wants to get in Stella's way. He just wants to ride the gravy train like the rest. Even if he did, I don't have much faith he'd get anywhere with it. He comes across as the rest do: dim.

The rest of this photoshoot is here. It's a Rainbow era photoshoot. Another fan sent me the link.

Lol nope, but only one thing would make it all make sense in a wacky circus kind of way, IMO. We shall all just see. I look forward to your episode 8 recap. I definitely won't watch it. Any word on episode 6 ratings yet?

Re: MW Ep 6 - Hero (71,415) (71,424) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'm glad that I'm not the only one that thinks the plot lines lead to no where and it's just a few scenes messily put together to cover a 40 minute time frame. Instead of the main parts featuring Mariah, they are usually given to Molly, Stella, Bryan and Mishka. We really don't see much of "putting together the show" and "behind the scenes" moments that were promised. I'm thinking maybe, just maybe they'll release a SSFT DVD that's why they don't show much of the footage of the actual concert, but I don't know, that's really no excuse. MW will apparently be released on DVD soon. All we get is is scripted drama and that too stuff that don't make sense and paint Mariah in an unflattering light.

Hey G.G., I actually never saw this photo before either and I suddenly found it online, it was low quality but the picture was so beautiful, I decided to use it. It might also just be a fan edit not sure, but here is the link.

And the way she addressed it on the show is so immature and shady, a 46 year old woman indeed.

TD Jakes (71,421) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah met and had dinner with TD Jakes in the past few months. I am wondering if he will make an appearance on her show, or if she will appear on his show. Even stellar has posted a few of his quotes. Mariah also endorsed his new show on OWN a few months ago. The show is boring AF, but I would watch if she makes an appearance.

I think Stella will knock him off any type of pedestal when he gets in her way. Now he is a perfect spy, if he has all of the personal time with MC when Stella does her two minutes a day of parenting of her own spawn.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey's sister Alison begs for a reconciliation (71,407) (71,419) by RibbonB from USA
Yup, Alison needs to treat herself proper for a few good clean years before trying to develop good relationships with anyone else.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey's sister Alison begs for a reconciliation (71,409) (71,418) by RibbonB from USA
Yes I know she alluded to her brother and sister, but I am just wondering if she will somehow really deal with the issue on the show. I doubt it with two shows left and all the messy drama they have been putting out in the previews don't speak to anything that substantial happening in this series.

Re: MW Ep 6 - Hero (71,412) (71,417) by RibbonB from USA
Yes totally, that is why I keep saying maybe, there is something redemptive about this misstep. Whatever it is, the lead up to it has been poorly done, IMO. I have one idea, but I won't say, but anything else will be disastrous IMO.

Re: Drama-naka (71,368) (71,416) by Lila from United States
I think if you stand back and look at it, you've already answered you own question. Nick and Mariah's relationship didn't not work out due to money or age. It didn't work out because of Mariah's paranoia and the crazies in her entourage that played on it. If this thing with Bryan were real, then as twisted, dysfunctional, crazy, and WTF as it is, he actually has an advantage over Nick. Mariah is willing to keep a person around, although he or she serves no functional purpose and/or is piss poor at their job, as long as the person is willing to compliment her all the time, keep the party going, and let her do whatever she wants regardless of it's detriment and/or embarrassment to her. Bryan would be another addition in male form. As you said, he's now resigned himself to being a permanent part of Mariah's entourage. He has nothing going for himself so he'll be around all the time doing what the rest of the crew are doing. They can't accuse of him cheating because Mariah would know where he's at 24/7: with her. Not that they would have to. Bryan is just like them, using her to get what he wants, so it wouldn't be in his best interest to elevate her to a higher level of thinking or call her out when she does something wrong or stupid. Mariah doesn't want an equal, she wants a puppy.
