New song (71,841)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Although the new song sounds promising (I don't know whether I like it yet), but I really wished that she'd release a more upbeat, fun song with a catchy chorus. Something like maybe "Heartbreaker" and all. A feel good, fun song, that people can have a good time to. She could have gone for a big ballad second.

Lol, no Nick would have been tarred and feathered. But Mariah could have said I need to think about things and said I need time to think and kept Tonka toy in the friend zone or whatever. Lol. For her to now play dating, while still wearing that damn ring is bizarre. Lol. I read a blind item that she actually rents the ring for 10K a month. Lol. Whatever she was doing, they were planning it months ago and taping alternate endings I think. Who knows what is really, really going on. I still think about what Anthony said that this show was created for dummies. Lol. they wrote and edited it as if they were drunk and dumb that is for sure. But a few lambies are thoroughly entertained and even buy it hook line and sinker. I just hope the kids are good. These adults are tripping.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I heard those words, it's like he went back and saw what Nick said about Mariah and just rephrased it.

But Mariah and Stella made all those plans, tours, in between Vegas. She kept herself too busy to plan a wedding that she was also pushing for and allegedly so upset because Nick wouldn't sign the papers and holding her up from her commitment ceremony/TV wedding. They had this whole debacle set up to fail all along. So no all of these men are not to blame and did not use her, she played herself. Either she and Packer agreed to front for the press, or he was in, but not that stupid to jump off a cliff to live in hell with Stella and her family tagging along and Mariah behaving very much like a drunk cheater the whole time she was away from him. There is no real natural progression here, it all comes off as manufactured with respect to this reality show and the whole cast of characters. If Mariah co-produced this whole mess just to launch a 13 year old and her leech like family as well as a back up dancer, then oh well. She said she is prepared to live with the results.

Mariah and Tonka's mom met way in the spring/summer 2016. We saw leaks of that too on the Daily Mail of course. This whole thing was chopped together and well thought out with most of the things happening this past Spring and Summer.

It was the only good thing to come out of this whole travesty. Mariah was genuinely happy and laughing and free and not worried. Nothing was staged, there was no forced tolerance. They are actually friends, same as before, which Nick has been saying for a while lol. It was just like old times. Even if they never get back together I'm still entirely grateful that the connection and love remains and that Nick remains in her corner. I swear when Ribbon was talking about a good outcome I was so lost as to what she could possibly have come up to unless Nick pops out at the end and says "you've just been punk'd". Maybe next week a secret actual episode where he will? Too much to hope for? Fine. Back to the drawing board lol.

Asking someone's opinion on something is not letting them call the shots, though. Mariah asked for Nick and Prince's opinion but at the end of the day Mariah was the one who okayed doing Idol. That was Mariah's call. If she let JD pick the singles then she still called the shots in delegating that responsibility to him. I don't know what money Nick was making decisions about that was just Mariah's because Nick has, in the past, explained that what they bought together and the kids, they went on half on, and what they had before marriage they took care of separately. However, if that were true, she still called the shot in following his decision. Being passive is a choice. Nick traveled a lot but it also didn't help their relationship that Mariah continually clung to staying in NYC when it was obvious that a big chunk of his life was in LA. Mariah obviously didn't care to spend time with Packer because even when they were together she invited her circus to come with her, including Stella's annoying fast underage daughter. Packer may have had her do concerts and business meetings but it wasn't like he wasn't kicking back money in the form of expensive jewelry, vacations, and the use of his and another yacht. Mariah was not being taken for a ride. She was and is an active participant.

Hmm, after reading your post twice, I must admit I agree with you however I am too through with Mariah thinking this was a good decision to showcase how she was falling for this dude while engaged and wearing another man's ring. Damn, girlfriend is still wearing James' ring while she is supposedly in a relationship with Tanaka. What kind of foolishness is that? I mean does Mariah think her fans have boo boo the foo boo written our on foreheads? This "docu serious" was a cut and paste shame. Straight to the curb pathetic joke.

Re: Tommy Mottola (71,815) (71,829)
by Bill from the UK

The problem with Mariah is deeply psychological. It all stems back to her childhood. She was abadoned by her father. She married Tommy (I gravitated toward a patriarch so young, predictably), whatever happened between them happened, and with their being two sides to every story, she perceived his actions as abuse and spent years living with the "side effects". She got cheated on by Luis Miguel. Screwed around by Damizza. Then along came Nick. He got her, she got him, they married and after the pain of a miscarriage, were blessed with beautiful twins. Watching her interviews during that period, she was grounded, funny, engaging, sensible, and clearly grateful for what she had. Then whatever happened behind their closed doors happened, and imagine the effect of your own traumatising childhood being re-enacted. A literal history repeating of three year old children being brought up in an unpredictable environment by their singer mother. On WWHL, her obvious uncomfortableness when asked about Nick was heart breaking to see. Packer was a rebound. What better security blanket for her kids than a billionaire? Then with Stella manipulating her in the background and keeping that wine glass topped up, she's now a shadow of herself, mired in misery, clinging to her youth (Tanaka). Her voice is gone, her endearing personality is gone. Mariah was a girl blessed with a five octave voice, stunning ethereal looks, a warm personality, a humbleness, and carried herself with poise and grace. Now she has none of those things. That is the true tragedy of this. Her search for acceptance in any form (race, father, lover) has left to her being the loneliest woman I know. I wonder if she still feels like a child when she looks at the moon. This is why, in spite of everything she does and my continued frustrations with her, I will always, deeply and sincerely, love her to pieces.

MW ep 8 ending (71,828)

Freaking cheesy. Bananaka recycling Nick Cannon's words, and in the same setting, the beach. "I admire her. There's no doubt, she is the girl of my dreams." I heard that one before. I honestly want to believe MC words that he makes her happy. I hope she is not just collecting relationships like Swift for material because the press is dry.

Sometimes I wondered in which way he was controlling. I recall someone said once that Mariah got upset at Tommy and what she did was to go to a room, slam the door and put some rap music very loud. That sounded like a teen having a tantrum. So was he controlling like a strict father? Something like "no Mariah, you can't go to that party and you most definitely can't go dressed up like that"? It always made me think their relationship was weird, Mottola being more like an authoritarian figure and her having some daddy issues. I feel that Mariah is drawn to young guys because she might want to get back that youth that slipped away. It's like Packer used her at times but other moments seemed he wanted a grown up relationship but she is still stuck in the "party girl mode" with friends hanging around laughing their drunk butts off and Tanaka fits perfectly her current attitude, he is somewhat thirsty, riding the Mariah wave and he might probably be making her feel young. Mariah seems to be approaching a middle age crisis. I want to believe that it wasn't truly all yachtes and diamonds but seeing Mariah flirting on the plane with Bananaka, fixing his hair, sitting on him, all the while prepping a wedding, I can't take seriously when she says Packer wasn't good to her. Perhaps she didn't put much effort in a serious relationship neither, the cake moment in Italy said everything.

I actually felt that Nick pretty much moved on. They looked like friends going for a burger, I thought it is a good thing they have a friendly relationship considering they have kids, some people can be so toxic to each other after a divorce. Now the awkwardness was Bananaka's mom meeting Mariah and this last one admitting being nervous. She does seem to be very much aware of the cams at all times. Nick looked more natural.

Joke (71,823)

So she re-wrote the past because it didn't suit her. Does she realise that life is not a video game? It's ridiculous because everybody knows James dumped her first. This all situation is too pathetic, how is it even possible to take anything she' s doing seriously? Everything she does is a continous joke.

Honestly this was a chopped up mess because everything was all over the place. You can tell a lot of scenes were reshot and mixed in with certain parts to create a storyline. The best moments were the family moments between MC, Roc, and Roe. Also the moment with Nick, his mother Ms. Beth, Roc, Roe, and MC. You can tell those scenes were genuine and that is the real MC. This other person is persona that was created as with most entertainers there is the public and private persona. But MC's public persona is doing her more harm than good.

Don't be a hater. If a man, who is skin and bones, breaks his leg in six places trying to lift the woman he loves, he truly deserves her. I don't know why you guys put too much emphasis on money when it comes to true cougar love. Is Tanaka a boy-toy for Mariah? Obviously he is, but that doesn't make him a bad person. You'll see that when Mariah dumps Tanaka we'll get great songs from the experience. As my dear Edoard from France would say: Mariah sacrifices herself just to have situations to write from. When she broke up with Nick, we got "Cry" and "Camouflage". When she broke up with Packer, she got "I Don't", and when she breaks up with Tanaka, she'll be working on a Japanese song she started writing in the late 90's but never finished.

Natural progression (71,819)
by Nikki from usa
| |
|
|
I think Mariah's very honest about how she's feeling at any given time. But, I don't think people pay attention. Mariah likes to call the shots in certain things, but not everything. From watching her have JD pick out her first singles and unable to make a decision on her own to the fact that Nick had say in money making decisions when it was only her money while they were together and tried to continue to do so after they split to asking Nick's and Prince's opinion before joining American Idol after making it clear she really didn't want to do it, I don't think Mariah's ever been fully committed to the drivers seat. MC repeatedly said Nick was never home and how lonely she felt. Nick kept saying the reason why was because he needed to "be a man" and "make his own money". So, it makes sense for her to be with Packer. He has his own money and career. He should have time to be a family and a steady patriarchal figure like Mariah never consistently had. Except, Packer never made his wealth. He inherited it and spends all of his time trying to keep it. He encourages Mariah to do impromptu concerts and tries to use tickets to sway political figures. He drags her along to business meetings and uses her star power to help close huge deals. Mariah finds herself only spending vacation time with him before he proposes and tries to rush her to the alter. It also appears he dumped the wedding planning on Mariah much of the same way Mottola did. That deja vu must've been eye opening. Packer's divorce still isn't finalized yet, he dated a women for less than a year before proposing, and tried to rush her to the alter even though it wouldn't be legal. That's not normal. Mariah has a habit of marrying men who take advantage of her. Maybe it's easier for her to live in a fantasy than face the reality.

Ha, gee, ya think? Now, I'm sure someone's being saying that for a while and being lambasted. Who could it be? I'm sure he's pretty much right all the time whoever he is. So seriously, what an absolutely awful human being to make that song and video and reality show. How cheap and nasty she has become or revealed herself to be. I'd like someone to challenge her to a sing off to show her some humility. "[censored] nobody"? "[censored] everybody."
