Re: What's next? 5 year projection (72,485) (72,490)

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Unless Mariah cleans house and allow professionals do their job at managing her career, she would still be on her path to becoming a joke and tarnishing her legacy. Given the fact that she's not spring chicken anymore, and considering how the music industry is when it comes to ageing artists, If she keeps with mediocre music and the "look how I touch my boobs" videos, she'll be looking more desperate in 5 years.

Unreal (72,488)

It is so sad and pathetic to come on this message board and to read all the awful, distasteful messages about someone that people don't even know personally. There's so many therapists on this board I'm wondering how in the hell there's enough time to even type up a message on here. No matter what this woman does someone on here will find something to nit pick at. Unreal and pathetic. I would love for the tables to be turned on all of the know it alls, and see if you last as long as Mariah has.

Tyrese (72,487)

Wow, I am not the biggest Tyrese fan, but I saw this clip of him on Wendy and he gives the best advice here at the 7 minute mark, he talks about single parenting and dating. It is sad that Mariah does not think it wise to discuss dating or exposing potential partners around their kids with their father. Or if she thinks it wise, she does not seem to do that if she has them on TV shows and on trips with others without so much as a discussion. In her R29 interview she does say that one should get over the anger of previous breakups, then spend time alone with yourself before looking to others to move on with, but she has not seemed to have displayed that behavior. Anyway, I do hope all is well with M and her kids. Haji that video you posted was weird and disturbing, but these people who post those videos just make up lots of stuff by way of interpreting song lyrics.

Mariah has slayed vocally all year long. The he'll are you talking about? So many "Lambs" are truly hating on her here and it's so sad too see. The song is amazing and the video is doing great, but I personally believe this is just a track to get you talking. But this March will be lit with a special dear friend.

Mariah is not co-headlining anything. She's billed as a "Special Guest" on a Lionel Richie tour. Your delusion is [censored] fantastical. Have a day off, darling.

You live away with the fairies. Mariah is completely irrelevant resorting to cheap tricks to try to be noticed and showing that she has very little singing and songwriting talent left. You should visit Earth once in a while, buddy. You're kinda scary.

Jake Nava / Mariah's videos (72,482)
by JAXGH from United States
| |
|
|
Mariah needs to work with Jake Nava again. "Shake it off" is hands down her best music video. I don't know if his fee is too much or the filming process is too strenuous but she definitely needs to work with this guy again. The cinematic touch, slow panning (you actually get the story line), the smooth transitions, great set and props, amazing actors: Da Brat, Chris Tucker and the cheating guy were all on point. (Does anyone know his name? He's cute lmao I know it has an "S" but I forgot it.) Anyway you get what I mean. Jake Nava also directed "Single Ladies" which tells you a lot. Mariah actually got recognition for her Shake It Off's music video. It was nominated for an MTV Music Award (which is what she has always been longing for). It did lose to Beyonce's "Check On It" though. I call bs, that video wasn't that great. I think Mariah just needs to get recognition for her videos, she really doesn't get much for it and it sucks. Thus why she stopped trying after I'll Be Loving U Long Time. She had some confidence and effort in "Up Out My Face" but that single wasn't even paid attention to, it just faded and really didn't exist almost. Anyone here who comments on Stella's accounts or who ever's connected to Mariah, please remind her about Jake Nava. Banging song, banging promotion and a banging music video. You're set for success. "I Don't" music video is clearly done by YG's connection. It's the same as all the other trash rap song's videos. It's a bunch of random ass B rolls and horrendous acting. Mariah needs to just sing along to the song while filming (it will be dubbed anyway) so her miming looks more real. She lip syncs in music videos and it looks kind of bad. Even for the preview of the song when she was at the studio, I was cringing. I mean I know that's not the actual recording of it, but at least try to make it look real.

Lego movie (72,481)

I hope the movie is a blockbuster. Mimi needs some good news, even though she only has a small part in the project. I may not see the movie, but I would buy her characters action figure if they put one out. Looks like this will be a cute moment. It was also cute to see her walk the carpet last week with Roc and Roe. I read where Nick said that Roc and Roe think they are more famous than he is and they think he owns Nickleodeon. They really are such cute kids and they seem very playful and animated in all the videos with their dad. M. doesn't share as many videos with them, but they do have great personalities.

It's hard to watch this person ruin her image, brand and career. She has done nothing for Mariah other than fast money. Her future projects are at risk. Mariah will realize soon enough she's losing money because of Stella. Her brand is at an all time low. Future bookings/tours/projects won't offer her big money. She's not making La Reid any money, so it will be interesting to see if he drops her.

Well if you want to highlight their personal lives, Lionel was living his life and made mistakes way before social media of today. Mariah is deliberately living and fabricating a life for social media and many of her fans and his fans alike are like "bish whet?" She needs to use this moment to close off that silly MW chapter and ready herself to do a good show without all the dramatics, but between her NYE debacle and the mess of MW she has a lot to prove. Who knows why she allowed Crustella and crew inside and muddied up her own legacy, but she can turn it around. I hope she does. I also hope she leaves Roc and Roe with their dad and his mom while she tours so she can focus mainly on the show and they can be in good care and safe hands especially if Crustella and her kids and crew are still in the mix.

What are Stella's credentials? Does she even have a business management degree or highschool diploma? She's a reality television producer (a poor one at that) and a failed stand up comic. Mariah had the Vegas, Beacon, and MAC deals lined up before Stella so what exactly has she done? The Hallmark deal, the Sweet Sweet Fantasy world tour, and Mariah's World. Of the three the only success was the tour. Mariah's performance in A Christmas Melody was universally panned and Mariah's World caused Lambs second hand embarrassment (thankfully no one was watching). I forgot about Empire but that was a given.

They do, but "I Don't" (72,473)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
If people were really interested on "I Dont" or talking about her music, it would be reflected on "iTunes" and "Amazon", but it's far gone from their top 100 lists. Watching a video doesn't mean anything if it doesn't move viewers to actually purchase the song in question. Considering "Honey" and "Heartbreaker" as videos that show sexy within context, one can clearly see that lying down touching herself and giving the middle finger won't just cut it. Mariah has definitely cheapened her brand with most of the decisions she's made lately. As much as I dislike Contourella, I hold Mariah responsible for she is the one with experience in the music business, yet she keeps going along with the craziness. If they both feel womanly empowered to keep acting the way they do, they should take the heat with a happy face. There's nothing like equal opportunities for all.

It will be a while before she realizes that because as of now she's still thinking her image is in perfect condition and she has unbridled success with everything Stella got her. I at least hope that it's a misconception she's under and not something she is doing intentionally.

Stella saying they are not negotiating a second season and that it was always just an 8 episode limited series gives me hope that we won't be subjected to another season of fabricated drama and ridiculous storylines. Mariah really needs to take a step back and look at the mess she's allowed Stella to make of her reputation and legacy.

I Don't has over 10 million views and counting. I think I Don't is a step in the right direction. It's got people talking about her music again which is a good thing with her about to embark on a tour of North America. I Don't is an earworm. Once you hear it you can't get it out of your head. I'm going to see Mariah not Lionel but I do like his music. He's a talented singer songwriter. I love his daughter Nicole. Lionel cheated on Brenda and left her for a much younger woman which is worse than anything Mariah's done. Yes, she dresses like a stripper and her antics are grating but her music speaks for itself. Neither Lionel or Mariah could tour North America successful which is why they're coheadlining this tour. Mariah is coheadlining this tour but because of her residency she has to be billed as a special guest star. Lionel is an R&B singer and so is Mariah. Them touring together makes sense.

Didn't a lot of MC fans the same against Lionel on this board? Maybe, if she can show a humble side of her self again, she can turn this around, but if she's going to keep up the diva act, dress like she's working on the nearest corner, people won't love her.

I don't blame them. If I was a fan of Lionel, I wouldn't be a fan of Mariah's antics either. The thing about this tour is, I just don't know which audience they are appealing to. I wouldn't want to have to sit through Lionel Richie's performances waiting for Mariah to come on and I doubt Lionel fans will want to sit through Mariah's perfrmances waiting for Lionel. The kind of people who are likely to go and see Lionel Richie are not the kind of people who will be happy to wait around for 2 hours for Mariah to arrive late and then suffer through lots of tedious costume changes and lip synced performances. Yes Mariah is a legend, but it is arguable that Lionel is even more of a legend in his fans' eyes. If Mariah is as disrespectful to his fans they way she often is to her own (turning up late, lip syncing and spending 20% of the concert changing outfits), they will not take it from her.
