Re: Beyoncé (72,622) (72,625) by Lila from United States
Yes she did. She should've taken her award and kept it moving. Beyoncé did not deserve it over her.

#89 (72,624) by B from USA
She was still able to chart despite being irrelevant. Of course #89 ain't #1 but it's a feat when the head of your label says even being on radio is a feat. Especially when you've managed it with two singles that your fanbase is divided on.

Article: Sigala set to collaborate with Mariah Carey (72,623) by Billy from England, UK
I'm excited to see what they both come up with. I'm sure it will be amazing too.

Re: Beyoncé (72,612) (72,622) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I saw the performance, but for me Beyoncé is so overrated. Yes she's a beautiful woman, she can dance and entertain. Her voice is nice and her songs are always "trendy". Some songs from the Lemonade album are so bad. But hey everybody loves Beyoncé. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against her but she's definitely not the queen. She's a princess of modern R'n'B. Adele deserves the Grammy.

Re: Rihanna's diamond encrusted flask (72,606) (72,621) by B from USA
It was stated that DCP does the Grammy's, the Billboard Awards, and the NYE with Ryan Seacrest. If it's not true it doesn't matter, if it can happen on music's biggest night, it can happen to anyone at anytime.

Re: Adele (72,601) (72,620) by Andrew from UK
Adele was amazing. And it was a lot more human that she started over. Rule Britannia. Agree with those who say awards shows won't go near Mariah now. Don't you think the barriers being up on the bowling lane, with Mariah in stilettos looking like a desperate cougar, being praised by the kiss-ass sycophantic idiot is symbolic of her life? Somewhere people were celebrating real music. Mariah is the most irrelevant she's ever been.

That was beautiful. Same channel also has the Make It Happen acapella too. Amazing.

It's so sad that we're having to include 13-year-old Mishka when talking about Mariah's management team. That is a huge problem itself. Mariah, please wake up. The only notes Mishka should be taking is in a classroom.

Re: Mariah Carey is about a decade behind (72,591) (72,615) by MusicfanJ from Germany
The music industry today is 90% still about the looks and image. Yes it started in the late 90ies with Britney and other ones and got worst with Rihanna, Miley and co. Those celebrities look so cheap. I'm sure that "trend" will change again and as you said, it already has begun with "new" artists like Adele. Anyway I love the "boring" Mariah. For me she was never boring, more like a mysterious woman. A real superstar not only good-looking, she was like an angel. Beautiful and so extremely talented. When she started the "diva thing" it was still funny and sweet. And the up and downs since Glitter are surely caused of the hard business and private things. My problem is: since the Crustella management took over, Mariah is seen by the public more like a reality star. Who wonders. And it's so sad. Mariah Carey should never be compared to a reality star.

I know, right? Imagine if we all embraced each other with that much grace and authenticity. There's enough to go around. I like a few of Bey's songs though I haven't been riding the wave that pop culture has with her music. I'm one of the few who hasn't bought one of her albums since Destiny's Child, but I really would like to take a look at Lemonade.

Re: Major events (72,589) (72,613) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Maybe Mariah has no longer interest in those events. In the past she was everywhere. The Grammies can't be taken serious since Daydream was completely ignored.

Beyoncé (72,612) by Edward from USA
Beyoncé's performance was phenomenal. Those visuals, wow. She didn't have to move around much, those visuals were great. Beyoncé, not as talented vocally as Mariah, but world away from her in many other areas. I definitely think Mishka, Stella, and Mariah should be taking notes.

Re: Mariah on Kimmel (72,605) (72,610) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh I had no idea, I hardly ever watch Kimmel except for when he has celebs I'm interested in. I'd love for some parodies of just fun sketches. At this point I'm just praying her interview is not like her last Ellen interview where she managed to even irritate Ellen who is usually very friendly with Mariah.

Re: Mariah on Kimmel (72,604) (72,609) by RibbonB from USA
Also, Mariah did that sitting in a bubble bath with Kimmel being fed grapes stunt last year. So he does a lot more than just sit downs.

Grammys (72,608) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I've watched Adele's tribute a few times. I don't believe that we are practicing the same religion. I'm not impressed by her tribute. Although I like her song choise, that it wasn't from Faith album.
PS All the ladies, even Celine, wore revealing dresses at the red carpet.

Adele, just wow (72,607) by Edward from USA
I just saw Adele's acceptance speech and how she didn't let pride get in the way of praising Beyoncé. This woman is like the biggest star right now, yet she's so effing humble, it's beyond me. I haven't listened the Lemonade album, but I'm going to buy it, those words, coming from such a humble and graceful person, were enough for me to give it a try. Mariah, we miss you, stop with the act and bring back that person we all know still lies in you. That beautiful, thoughtful, humble, caring person couldn't have faded away just like that. We do really love you.

Re: Rihanna's diamond encrusted flask (72,597) (72,606) by RibbonB from USA
Ken Ehrlick produced the Grammy's not DCP and it was on CBS not ABC like the NYE debacle. Snafus definitely happen, but it is how a star responds to it that will make or break the moment even further.

Re: Mariah on Kimmel (72,604) (72,605) by RibbonB from USA
He does all kinds of parodies, staged moments. He has a running thing with Matt Damon. I just mean some kind of silly moment vs. her actually performing the song with YG.

Re: Mariah on Kimmel (72,596) (72,604) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
But Kimmel doesn't even do any skits. Aren't his interviews just sit-downs? It's Fallon and Corden that do the skits and sometimes Conan.

Adele and the lessons learned (72,603) by Sheila from United States
Dear Mariah, Adele has taken your gowns, swag and stand there and sing stance and turned it into sales and Grammy gold. No one wants to hear you be Rihanna. Be Mariah. Learn from Adele.

Bowling dress massacre (72,602) by RibbonB from USA
Someone, anyone on Mariah's team should have told her that the dress she was "bowling" in was oh so wrong. The visual in the butt shot pictures is so unfortunate. The comments are sad on Daily Mail. Yikes.

Re: Adele (72,571) (72,601) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I love Mariah but as someone who loves George I loved Adele's tribute so much. Yes, she started over, but I just found her performance so moving it brought tears to my eyes. She owed what happened and moved on. She was humble and vulnerable and that inspires and teaches to be accepting rather than condemminhg so much of the time. If they realeased the tribute on iTunes I would buy it. Not saying I wouldn't have loved Mariah too. Just saying Adele really touched me with that performance.

Re: Mariah doing George Michael tribute / Grammys (72,594) (72,600) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes I understand, this is why I wrote in a previous post that Mariah's image and career now is basically at a position worse than what it was during "Glitter". The moment they went with the "sabotage" story I just knew she has burned down a lot of bridges. A lot of these TV channels are sister concerns of ABC and the producers behind the DC New Year's event also produces some major award shows so these people can get her snubbed too. As it is, Mariah is already not being played on the radio and now her TV opportunities are limited too. I don't understand how even after being in the business for so long Mariah still made such a mistake. It's just so easy for her and her team to go around everyone and their dads but never look within themselves and see what mistakes they are making. Day by day she's limiting her opportunities and if it goes like this Mariah will have nowhere to go. You are right when you said she brought out the humble Mariah during that time. "Charmbracelet" era showed the humble and sweet Mariah, who was trying hard to win back the people, and she did that successfully. Then came the TEOM era where she was still humble and nice with a touch of "I am a legend". Which was a great balance. Recently her image is such, I can understand why it might rub people the wrong way and that's why people are less forgiving of her. That's why when she messes up people go all in on her because they think she's all about the shade, the extravagant life and the arrogance. This has to change. Like Andrew said, this isn't Mariah, I don't buy that "this is the real her". There is something going on and I hope it's not the start of a breakdown.
