Latest family picture (70,915)

The latest Carey/Cannon family picture is absolutely beautiful, these pictures always warm my heart. Even though MC and NC could not work as a couple I am glad they can work well as co-parents. On another note, MC's more natural understated look is stunning I would like more of these moments opposed to the over the top diva glam. Underneath all the extra divaness I believe MC is a beautiful loving soul and a great mother.

Tommy has a right to express an opinion, it's called the freedom of expression, so yes, he does have the right do make a point, as set out in the US constitution. Moreover, whether you like it or not, without Tommy we would never have had the version of Mariah we, and the rest of the world, fell in love with. It's safe to say that Mariah's decisions since leaving Tommy have been less than Stella. (Get the joke? Lol.) Mariah should be entering a phase of her career where she can do a Barbra Sreisand and release an album with no promotion and get to number one. Barbra is a prestiege act and acts as such. Meanwhile, Mariah is running around like a reality TV project. It's sad. Tommy may have been a bastard personally, but to deny him a right to speak when we have never heard his side of the story (in real terms), is simply ignorant. He earned his right when he pummelled serious cash into Mariah Carey and created a prestige brand that is now being destroyed. He has never said a bad word about Mariah publicly. If he is commenting on this, you can rest assured that things are very serious.

Stella's MW crimes (70,913)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
I said after the first episode of MW that Stella made multiple stupid mistakes and also Mariah for going along with it. But I can see the sexual harassment angle playing out what with the firing of Anthony. He gets the blame for the NYE show fiasco, while "Boynaka" gets a pass because he is in a "thing" with the boss. That story line should have never seen the light of day. Stellar should have squashed any personal contact with a thirsty employee and M. Instead, that was highlighted and teased about it all summer. I guess Sunday people will see if they take it there, or derail it. The whole interlude has been simply dumb though. Hmmm. I hope M. does not sign on for a season two of MW. Let Mariah's gang have a show of their own without her presence and let them flop all on their own.

Giving up on MC (70,912)
by Leito from USA
| |
|
|
I've been a fan, ever since I first heard VOL on the radio (1990). The first album (cassette tape) I've ever purchased: "Mariah Carey" (1990). My first concert, "Music Box Tour" in Miami (1993). Every time she released an album/single from 1990-1995, I'd catch 2 busses in get to the nearest music store. Needless to say, I've been a hardcore fan since the beginning. I remembered the first time "fans" started abandoning her. In 1997, she released the "Butterfly" album. The album had more of an urban/hip-hop sound. She released "Honey" (Bad Boy remix), "Breakdown" ft Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and "Babydoll". At that time, people were saying, "MC went too urban. She's trying to be black now." However, I loved her evolution and stuck by her side. Later on, in 2001, we had the "Glitter" fiasco. Again, she had a considerably huge loss in her fan base. Although I enjoyed the movie, it was "messy" and so was her behavior. The album was a risk. However, I believe she was ahead of the times, bringing back the 80's sound. Yet again, I stuck by her side (as a true Lamb should). Then, there was the NBC's Rockefeller Center performance (2014). One of many "lackluster" performances, but the most publicized. MC was slammed and dragged through the mud. As disappointed as I was, I still made tons of excuses and defended her to no end. Finally, moving forward to 2016's NYE performance. Cringe-worthy, to say the least. In the middle of my family's NYE celebration, I called everyone and gathered around the TV. From my 72-year old mom, to 9-year old niece. They all are very aware, I'm a die-hard fan. That night, I was beyond horrified. I found myself saying, "I can't, anymore." I felt defeated and threw in the towel. The next day, I reminded myself all of what MC meant to me. She's been part of most my life (27-years). Her songs have been a light, shining in my darkest moments. I mean, "The Wind" and "One Sweet Day" played at my dad's memorial service. I heard "Through the Rain" for the first time right after I was literally stuck in the pouring rain and having an emotional breakdown. Too many "moments" to list. MC has been there through my good and bad times. There is only one way, I can ever repay her back. Sticking by MC, as she goes through all of her good and bad. Always and forever, Eliel from Fort Lauderdale, FL USA.

Re: Mariah Carey's legacy in critical condition (70,884) (70,910)
by Terna from Nigeria

So what you're saying is Mariah's legacy is in critical condition as you put it as a result of one bad performance she had, which was out of her control, on a show she has performed before and slayed. You guys are reaching now at this point. Her legacy is her talent, achievements, the standards and records she set and broke, her body of work which is in my opinion something near sacred, Mariah easily (all caps) has the best body of work by any artist point blank period. And that is something that would always speak for her, always. And no botched NYE performance, smear campaign, nor even time itself can change that.

Nick's new IG pic (70,908)
by Lila from United States
| |
|
|
Nick posted a new picture of him, Mariah, the twins, and Beth. It's adorable as always. Mariah looks amazing. She looks natural, she's wearing her natural hair, her face looks great, no awkward or forced posing or facial expressions. Even if she's more glammed up she usually tends to look more natural in the family pics IMO. She should dedicate some of that to her own IG and I wouldn't be against having someone hired solely for snapping and uploading pictures to IG.

The deterioration of MiMi (70,907)
by Jeff from USA

As painful as this article is to read, it is 100% spot on. I am reminded of when Whitney Houston made a promise to Clive Davis that she would "get her voice back" after years of abuse. Unfortunately, she never got the chance to do so. I pray that MC can. She has way too much talent and skill to just fade into mediocrity. We're with you, MiMi.

I hope she does more interviews so people know her more. The more people know her, the more highlighted her failures will be and then when she finally gets fired, people will know to avoid the Bulochnikovs like a plague.

You all are really making me glad that I decided not to watch MW. In the beginning I felt like an unsupportive fan, but now not so much. Just reading your summaries make me cringe. It turned into the type of show I didn't want for Mariah. More about the drama and less about the artist.

Saying Tommy Mottola has a valid point, allowing ourselves to believe he has a right to say anything about Mariah, means that we absolutely have no idea what Mariah went through with that guy. I believe some of us do know, some of us actually care for Mariah, the person. I do.

They spend so much time on the Molly story line and when it comes to Mariah's scenes, they are like flashes and random montages. Nothing makes sense. The show actually is what it was originally titled, and that is "Mariah's Squad". I absolutely don't get why Molly gets 40% of total screen time because she isn't even Mariah's assistant, she is' Stella's fake assistant. I was hoping for a more behind the scenes look at the tour and some official tour footage, instead we get messy scripted drama that a 5 year old wrote.

Insecurity and childish nature (70,899)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Excerpt from an interview with Stella (why is she doing so many interviews by the way?): Bulochnikov got candid when speaking about Mariah's ex-husband and music manager Tommy Mottola, who said Mariah needed better professional help. Bulochnikov responded to the claim by saying, "Clearly Tommy Mottola is just looking for attention; maybe he and Jenny McCarthy should date. They'd make a perfect couple. I would love to know what cave Tommy Mottola climbed out of to start commenting. Tell Tommy Mottola if I wanted his opinion, I'd give it to him." Stella is firing up because she knows now her blunders has received worldwide attention and no one will really work with her after the mess she created in Mariah's career. Stella is also probably doing multiple interviews now because she probably thinks Mariah's ship is drowning (which it isn't, it'll take a lot more for that to happen) and so now she quickly needs to get her face and contour known and get exposure. Leech. Also I'm surprised when asked about if Mariah will perform at Trump's inauguration, Stella says "No body called us." Like woman you are making it sound like you would have considered it if they called.

Mariah's World episode 4 (70,897)
by Tiina from Finland
| |
|
|
This episode was the most boring and disappointing yet. I skipped a lot of it. They have no real material, so they just have to shove random stuff on the screen or follow the fake Molly storyline, which we could care less about. And don't even get me started on Tanaka. This guy makes Nick seem likeable. I hope that the relantionship truly is just a desperate stunt to gain views for the show. By the way, the clip of Mariah and her "superfan" was from Helsinki, not from Oslo. I finally got to see what happened after all of us were rushed away. I was cringing the whole time. I must say that all of my feelings of disappointment arose once again. It makes me upset that there were other fans who had brought gifts but were not allowed to give them to Mariah because they could not sneak them in. Nor were we allowed to stay and chat with her like that. There were strict rules: the schedule is extremely tight, so get in and get out. My picture with Mariah got botched because of it. And this guy was not the only person that Mariah's music has helped to transform. There were many fans there who would have wanted to share our stories and thank her in person. We certainly all paid to be there. The rest of us just didn't know to be calculative and opportunistic. Mariah and her team ate it all up, too, because it made good material for the show. It is what is.

That's a great idea to contact Nick. He seems more hands on with his own social media, and has direct contact with MC. Definitely no to Brett Ratner. He got Mariah in the mess. Other options would be Lee Daniels, JD. I wish Oprah would sit Mariah down, or Patti.

So true. The lines are too blurred. Makes you wonder exactly how much Mariah saves as her current team is practically a multi-tasking one-stop shop - none of whom apparently have never heard of the word "boundaries" before.

Stella: A 360 view (70,893)
by Marissa from USA
| |
|
|
One of the biggest issues lambs have with Stella is that she has become Mariah's PR person, whether officially or unofficially. What happened to having a PR person that gave politically correct, professional statements to the public? Since when does a manager double as PR, especially one as crass and belligerent as Stella? This whole all-purpose job role irrespective of her weaknesses has got to go. If she just managed and that's it (no interviews, no TV roles, no obnoxious Instagram posts), I think most people would find her at least slightly tolerable. The only reason lambs immediately dragged Stella after NYE was because she's constantly shoved herself down our throats by chasing fame, so we knew exactly where to look when shit popped off. In an interview she said that she came on the scene only because she wanted to help Mariah extend her brand into different areas beyond music. Dealing with Mariah's music career was just a necessary evil, so it's not surprising that music has been neglected during this entire era. Her intention was never to boost MC's music career and she's admitted that herself, but that's the issue. She's more passionate about dragging MC into TV than she is about helping her dominate music, the reason why we became fans in the first place. Without these TV and movie projects, Stella's irrelevant and out of her league, so she has to keep MC booked with side-projects so she looks like she's indispensable. The bottom line is that MC can't do anything as well as she can sing and songwrite. No one is checking for her directing, producing or acting besides a few lambs, and if you suggest any of these things to the general public they usually just laugh. The running theme in MC's camp is people biting off more than they can chew in their roles. A TV producer managing music, a 13 year old managing social media, a dancer doubling as a boyfriend. The lines are too blurred. I do think that Stella has leadership qualities and could do someone good as their manager, just no musicians, especially not of Mariah's caliber because she doesn't know shit about music or tact. I think she'd be a good manager for a person who's only a reality star, because all of the antics she starts could easily be spun for ratings. She does know how to boost a person's relevance at all costs, but she doesn't get that that formula only truly benefits people who have nothing to lose, not legends. If someone like Kim K goes from being in a sex tape to having her own show, game, stores, etc. that's a come up because she didn't have shit to begin with. If Mariah goes from having 18 #1 hits, a flawless voice and 200+ million records sold to forcing her backup dancer to pick her up and kiss her on the beach for staged photos, that's an L.

Really Tommy? Stella shush, MC's recovery (70,891)
by Nikki from usa
| |
|
|
That's funny coming from a guy who tried ruining her career. However, not only is he right, but it's nothing different than most of us on this board have been saying for awhile now. I appreciate MC willing to give people a shot and not firing at the first mistake, but you need to surround yourself with people qualified to do their jobs if you don't want to do their jobs for them. I thought she learned that lesson from Glitter. Everyone but one actor had ever acted before and the director only had 2 movies under his belt. I'm sure Stella came at a time when MC was down and she got used to the family moment. Even if Mariah thinks Stella might not be her best option now, I'm wondering if Stella knows to much for MC to risk letting her go. Simply because Stella loves drama. Maybe help give Stella her own reality show to keep her busy and only keep her around for anything not to do with music or management parts of career. If you want to hear what Mariah would sound like "winging it" than check out the 2014 debacle - that's Mariah singing deaf. She was off and on. That's why you can't sing as a professional singer while deaf. After that she's done over 100 great performances to redeem herself, but the gp doesn't notice. Because, Mariah's recovery has to be as grand and exposed as her fall. Mariah should open a major worldwide televised event with all the live if not acoustic bells and whistles completely by surprise when nobody knew she was even going to perform there. This was another Glitter moment, time to TEOM this s**t.
