Re: Dark, evil era (67,819) (67,821) by RibbonB from USA
She needs to get back to being herself, not what her manager encourages her to be. Here is an interesting read for you and Mimi L. and any other interested parties. It is from Roger Friedman, who used to do a lot of publicity stories when Mariah was with Cindy. He breaks down a lot of the Scientology connection and agrees she is better off out of it now, than later. JP's Scientology dude Tommy is one nasty character, who used to threaten to destroy any of Tom Cruises girlfriends if they upset him. I am sure he doesn't want to tangle with Mariah, but he got his wish to dissolve the arrangement. I definitely hope Mariah lightens up, so to speak and focuses on her music and her children not so much photo ops for the paps. Anyway, we are a week before election, so I'm just going to try to quietly watch what's important and wish for the best regarding Mariah.

Well this whole stunt is a messy, confusing, flop. Lol she needs to get it together and stop being fake. Stop using people as props and get real.

Dark, evil era (67,819) by Butterfly from
Before Stella aka the witch came along Mariah was a bride, angel, tiger, mermaid, cookies for Halloween. Last year Mariah was a witch and now a devil. The Complex shoot was scary and Mariah admitted in the interview she just shows up and had nothing to do with the theme. Scientology wanted her to join but one way or another she escaped. Let's hope she can escape the witch sooner than later. Yes, RibbonB NYC is the place to be.

Re: Great songs not diss songs (67,817) (67,818) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
An empowerment song with a social message would be nice. A goosebumps inducing chorus to go with it. Also her music videos need to be upgraded. I can't deal with any more messy music videos. Side note, I wonder what her state of friendship with Brett Ratner is at the moment. Clearly whichever story you believe; her break up with James was bad (unless of course there has not been a breakup and this is just some stunt), so what's going to happen to Ratner? Since he introduced her to both Stella and James. I don't think Ratner will risk his partnership with James. Stella has already made it clear that she is done with James with the "I don't care how long I fudge with you" post.

Great songs not diss songs (67,817) by RibbonB from USA
I think the last thing Mariah should do is another diss song. A lot of the songs listed are breakup songs and not true diss songs. But after Infinity, I hope she has learned and will just generally grow up. If anything Mariah should do like Wendy of all people said and just not know him, JP. Why go on about a rebound break up, where she looks like a gold digger who got out played. She never expressed love, soulmate mess towards James while dating and it would be too fake to cry about it in the aftermath and diss songs are so petty. I hope she writes some good universal songs of love, heartbreak, happiness, empowerment not the next "Beth cha gonna wish you had picked me instead of Scientology" diss track, or the next "Stella is the best thing that ever happened my life because I am nothing without her managing to ruin my life", blah, blah, blah. I do hope she rights herself and gets back to her NYC home, that she keeps her kids close to their father for the joint custody and moves on with her life, hopefully out of the Stella created fishbowl of Mariah's World. We live and learn and hopefully she will do better. But, it doesn't look too good right now.

I love Mariah's "diss-songs". She's the queen of heartfelt ballads but the songs about failed relationships are really cool. Prisoner, Betcha Gonna Know and Clown are my favorites.

Divorce final? (67,815) by RibbonB from USA
Well if TMZ can be believed the divorce is final. Nick supposedly signed the docs just before Mariah set sail to Greece. Obviously the reality of what JP signed on for set in and he bailed. Let's see: ever present, abrasive manager and her whole family always on vacations, diva as wife, always in spotlight, filming a reality show, flirting with her background dancers, the list can go on and on. The only thing M. is allegedly upset about is his unmet promises of financial support. Wow. Well at least if reports are correct, they agreed to joint custody. I wish them all well.

Lol B I love that you are still dedicated to the Rachel Zoe request. We love Rachel Zoe, we need Rachel Zoe. It's like me ranting on and on about her getting with Balmain and MAC, both of which worked so hopefully this will happen too. Also your avatar is so cute. Is that you?

All this drama (67,811) by darrian liu from taiwan
Is super confusing to me. I'm just gonna listen to Mariah's music and watch her performances. Those were what made me fall in love with Mariah, not all of this nonsense drama. Praying so that Mariah can solve all these problems.

Re: Stella board or Mariah board? (67,792) (67,810) by Andrew from UK
You don't normally miss the point, but I think you may have here. Some people may like Stella. It is perfectly reasonable to argue that "no press is bad press" and that, as long as people are talking about you, you are still relevant. If Stella is uncouth or different in her approach, or is making certain decisions for Mariah that are putting her in the press for reasons the others fans don't like, then, I suppose, at least, Mariah hasn't gone silent for months on end and fans aren't on message boards debating how much they'd like to eat Mariah's hair. On the flip side of the coin, it is perfectly reasonable to say that "bad press is bad press" and Mariah should be protecting her legend and status as an artist, and fighting to earn back respect that she lost through her antics and attitude, rather than making herself (Nick?) cannon-fodder. On whichever side of the fence you or I or others may fall, the constant demonisation of Stella and her children is not far off bordering on hysteria. It is almost a declaration that Mariah is not in charge, when, by most accounts, we could claim she probably is, and her managers merely her enablers. Again, it feels as if a rewriting of the facts or a twisting of the narrative to portray Mariah as a victim with Stella in the latest of a long line of people whose asses are hauled before the Supreme Court of the Lambs to blame them for Mariah's own failings as an artist. Questioning the rationality of people who bang on about Stella in emotionally stunted ways is not defending Stella, it's defending rationality, I would say.

Re: Remember (67,801) (67,809) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Benny Medina. Benny and Mariah together is powerhouse. I know people cite Benny's recent work with JLo and say well what could he do for her. Thing is JLo's latest efforts were below average and not good at all but Benny still did his part of the job and kept her super relevant and always in the public eye without being trashy. Basically JLo-Benny duo failed to produce a successful music era (if you ignore "Booty" charting in top 20s haha) because from her side JLo fell flat and didn't deliver. But we know Mariah always delivers musically. So all Mariah needs to do is create fresh sounds and good music (which is easy for her) and Benny will handle the rest and make sure she is heard all over.

Updates (67,805) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
(1) TMZ has a new article about how James was madly in love with Mariah right up until that mysterious yacht incident. It goes on to say how he would send her love letters via email and call her MCP (Mariah Carey Packer) and ask her to marry him soon and refer songs to her because he finds the meaning of it sweet and hopes it makes Mariah smile. Here is the article. Does the "love, laughter, light" part sound familiar? You all know who it is, "Stell-ento Stell-ento. Haha no I'm just playing, it might be a common phrase, I have no idea, but if true little James was quite the romantic.
(2) TMZ also has a video of Mariah and Stella leaving Au Fudge with dembabies and they ask Mariah about James and what happened on the yacht, she doesn't respond. They ask Stella and after initially saying "You know better" (than to ask that), the cameraman say "they want me to ask" and Stella goes "I don't blame them, it's juicy". So basically confirming something went down on the yacht. Or being mysterious.

Mariah clean house again. Fire Stella. She's not capable of managing your career. Hire a stylist (Rachel Zoe). Fire KB. Hire a new glam squad. Do an interview explaining the cancellation of parts of your tour of Latin America. Appear humble and greatful. Retire the diva act and be relatable and self deprecating.

Emotionally invested (67,802) by Mara from United States
At this point, cutting ties with Stella even if Mariah wanted to, will probably be on the level of Tommy Mottola minus the marriage. If you think about it, Stella is not only her manager but family, friend and every member of her family is related to something of Mariah's brand. Stella basically pushed out any and all of Mariah's other people and family/friends it seems. With how public Mariah's life has been and on display it seems, we haven't seen old friends all that much or family. I do understand that maybe it is done privately but I don't even know anymore. We know how smothered Mariah felt with Tommy running everything, well insert Stella to that old picture. It would take a whole hell of a lot to change things in MC's life right now even if she wanted to. Maybe that is a battle she isn't ready to deal with. While Stella seems to be truly friends with Mariah, is it really healthy to mix this strong of a friendship with management duties? I think she should find a way to maybe stay in her zone with Stella but find someone new to do the big time jobs. I don't think I would put family or friends in that job. How can that be healthy? I really feel having Stella's sister' cousin, brother in law, father, daughters whoever in such control of Mariah is unhealthy. Why is there nothing ever said about Miska being out with a 46 year old woman holding on to her like she is 30 years old at 2 am in clubs or wherever? Mayer she just really like MC and is a night owl like her too. Does anyone know if MC knew Stella and if so how well before she became this string of a force in her life and the role of her manager and family all in one? Like, we know Nick knew Stella but how well did MC know her? It's all so odd and quite sad really. Mariah surrounds herself with Stella and her family and only Stella and her family all the time. I guess some of us do invest too much emotionally in MC, but really, honesty it's only because we really do care about Mariah Carey the person after all these years and have seen her burnt too many times, so when we see "red flags" we do tend to make a fuss over it.

Re: Remember (67,740) (67,801) by 123 from USA
It really is that simple. When was the last time Mariah released an undeniable single that got a big mega push with all the bells and whistles? Performances, interviews, radio deals to play your single, and a video that actually arrives on time (preferably same day as the single at this point or the following week to drum up more downloads). Instead we get JLo, I'm sorry, even worse, Kardashian like publicity that is beneath her. She is not being marketed as the talent she is. The focus is on superficial imagery and tabloid fodder. If Stella doesn't produce a hit on Mariah's next single, the heave ho. We should do a new list of possible managerial replacements to pass the time lol. To me, Mariah has always been more marketable when she is single. No one has ever bought a Mariah record because of who she is with.

Question (67,800) by B from USA
The only project Stella has been involved with is Mariah's World. Beacon, Vegas, Hallmark, etc were lined up before Stella became Mariah's manager, right?

The queen of the diss song will bounce back (67,799) by Bobby A from United States
My heart goes out to Mariah Carey right now. When she gives her all to someone, she gives it wholeheartedly. Why does she keep getting her heart broken? I think she should stop letting men mistreat her. Put her foot down and say "I am not taking any mess from you." Like Solange told Beyonce that "She needs to speak her mind more." When all of this blows over, she is going get in the studio and let James Packer have it. I think we are in store for one of the best MC's albums since TEOM. However in the meantime, let me show why Mariah is the queen of the diss song. Ranked from #1 to 10.
1. Obsessed
2. Shake It Off
3. Clown
4. Betcha Gon' Know
5. Infinity
6. Thanx 4 Nothin
7. You've Had Your Chance
8. Up Out My Face
9. Prisoner
10. You Don't Know What To Do

Re: Page Six expose (67,795) (67,798) by RibbonB from USA
It is creating drama for Stellar and her reality show. Sends things into a tailspin, so they had to pivot to a new man to focus on and throw this all into the show. Hey, for all we know this has always been a part of the script. I never believed that she would marry a dude with Scientology ties, or that a man that rich and formerly private, would want to be in the Carey spotlight for more than a few months of press. While the lambs are in a little uproar, it is getting surprisingly little press, as I can tell. The bad news, is will things get worse before the show airs? Most people really don't care, or think this is a mess and they just rip M. a new one in the comments sections.
