Love her. She being added to the Divas Holiday lineup made me happy. Her Christmas album is one of very few that I own, and I love her version of What Child Is This. Since this has been brought up infinite times on this board, in my opinion she is someone that always exudes class.

Spotify will kill Mariah's record eventually (68,402) by Martyn from England, UK
Unfortunately, Spotify has ruined the charts. I agree that streaming should be included in chart positioning because it's how many people consume music nowadays, but what worries me slightly is Spotify's playlists. Their "what's hot/top 50/popular" playlists are the go-to for many people who want to listen to music, so essentially Spotify have a huge amount of control over what's in the charts. In the UK, Drake's One Dance was number one for about 15 weeks. I read an article about how the majority of that reign was down to plays on Spotify's playlist, and had people not been doing this it would've been dethroned after several weeks. Spotify has slowed down movement in the charts a lot, with many songs remaining in the top 40 (or Billboard Hot 100) for a lot longer than they used to and with very little movement. It's unfortunate, because when Mariah's record eventually does get beaten, it will feel like less of an achievement to me. Hitting shuffle on a playlist of songs isn't the same as purposely going and seeking out a song because you like it.

Re: Pictures from Disneyland taping (68,400) (68,401) by Licia from USA
She looked really pretty and the kids are adorable as always. Although Roc has a look on his face like he's up to no good. Lol I hope she performed well. I'm a harsh critic at times, but I always root for to be at her best. I'm going to ignore that last picture. Not going to say a word. Lol.

Pictures from Disneyland taping (68,400) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah looked really good during the taping. Here is she with Roc. Here is a full length shot. On stage with the dancers. With Monroe and Roc. Next we have a nice firework moment. Last but not the least, we have a "Manaka" moment.

Yeah the 16 weeks with OSD are really impressive. But I remember in 96 we had a Mariah-mania around the world. I will never forget, I loved that Mariah was played all day and night.

Re: Merry Christmas 2 You (68,393) (68,398) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Yeah, especially the AIWFCIY redux. That was borderline offensive. This to me was officially the point where Mariah, who invented the art of creating successful remixes, had not only lost her touch - she completely forgot what "remix" meant. And I had no idea that adding a few more bells and little flourishes here and there apparently is all it takes to make something more "festive". It's like re-receiving the gift you got last year only after tearing through a different wrapper.

MILG (68,397) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
"Make it look good" was produced by Jermaine Dupri. Mike Will Made It was only responsible for producing Faded on MIAM and I have to agree both of these songs are underrated gems.

Re: Merry Christmas 2 You (68,393) (68,396) by Malcolm from Asia
Far from being a mistake. Oh Santa, When Christmas Comes, Christmas Time Is In The Air Again, and O Come All Ye Faithful with her mom are the best, thankful that she did that album. In fact when I'm still a casual listener of her, I really thought Oh Santa is one of her 90's Christmas songs alongside with AIWFCIY, for me it's such a brilliant holiday song, so festive.

Hey lambs, the Lambover party is 12/17/2016 after the Beacon show. The Lambily holiday bash entitled "The lamb over NYC: Christmas Masquerade Ball" with special guest DJ Suss One, Mariah's dj. Festive times, lambs, Mariah music and Mariah's personal dj.

Re: Merry Christmas 2 You (68,390) (68,393) by Licia from USA
I'm just happy to know that some people do enjoy MCIIY. I thought I was the only one. Lol I really enjoyed the duet with her mom, When Christmas Comes, and her take of Here Comes Santa Clause. Of course it won't go down as a classic album like the first one, but it's really enjoyable. Contractual obligation? Yes. Mistake? Nope. The two songs she probably could have left off are Auld Lang Syne and AIWFCIY super festive remix. Neither of those were needed.

Re: VH1 (68,391) (68,392) by Malcolm from Asia
Of course it will not be another Rockefeller fiasco because it'll be taped, there will be magic. The only thing that will might happen is the lip syncing to convince people that she still have her 90's tone voice which is not really effective anymore because we already know and we can easily distinguish the lipped parts. She can no longer fool anyone, we all know her act already. Until she don't accept the fact that her voice changed and the need to really take care of her voice, nothing good will happen. So please Mariah, sing your heart out in that stage, you will be surrounded by some of the authentic legends, don't humiliate yourself, prove to everyone that you are still worthy to be called as the "songbird supreme".

Re: VH1 (68,387) (68,391) by IfWeeeeee from Over There
Of course she will. I wish she'd not drink a month before the VH1 show and prepare for it. At least make herself look good again by singing great to the eyes of fans and non-fans alike.

Re: Merry Christmas 2 You (68,370) (68,390) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Mariah's first Christmas album is one of her top 3 albums where she was most vocally on point and sure it is beloved, but if we're being really honest, only AIWFCIY and Miss You Most are the songs in it that are really worth repeated listens. Her follow-up manages to balance modern and traditional Christmas sounds way better. The song selection is also more varied, making it a more interesting, thus enjoyable listen. And I while I was most worried about the new original songs, my fears were put to rest when I heard Christmas Time Is In The Air Again and When Christmas Comes. Those are timeless masterpieces that Taylor Swift can only dream of writing.

Re: VH1 (68,388) (68,389) by Licia from USA
I agree with the both of you. We all know she can give great vocals. I'm hoping she has her stuff together and is taking this seriously. We don't need or want another Rockefeller tree lighting fiasco.

Re: VH1 (68,384) (68,388) by Stacey from USA
Luke, I've thinking the same thing. I've been watching her guest spot on Michael Buble's Christmas special a lot lately. Her short red dress, cool looking white boots, and hair were great. But even more importantly her voice sounded great. Her acapella with Jimmy Fallon was awesome as well. She can't mess this performance up. With all the drama surrounding her breakup with JP, she needs a good performance to distract from all that.

I'd bet say 500 bucks that she'll be lip synching or at the very least there will be backing tracks. Any takers?

Mariah's World vs VH1 Divas Holiday (68,385) by Andrew from UK
Mariah's World won't be a disaster, the Divas show will. What's the bet Mariah lips her solo songs whilst nobody else does, giggles and acts frantic whilst talking over her parts during duets, and stands back smiling and shaking her head slowly at the floor during groups songs to "show respect" (i.e., shit herself that somebody might ask her to join in without anyone to press play backstage)? What's the bet on her piling on even more pounds and being sewn into something Barbie would wear? Like an actual Barbie. To scale. I'm such a hayturrr.
