Re: Fan backlash (67,523) (67,528) by Licia from USA
I think it's unfair for the fans to automatically blame her. I'm quick to call out Mariah on bs and demand she be held accountable, but in the situation her team should be getting the backlash. With all those people that are around her I know there is somebody on the payroll to handle these type of situations.

Packer split / SA tour (67,527) by Martyn from England, UK
Does anyone think these are linked? I predict a messy set of alcohol-fuelled Christmas appearances if all this is true. I hope she's okay.

Ariana is a queen and her Dangerous Woman album is perfection from beginning to end. Maybe you're just a bit too old for her Andrew tee hee.

There's nothing you'd love more? How about Mariah smacking Ariana in the jaw to stop that pretentious, pouty, posey, posey jaw wobble she does every time someone aims a camera at her? She's just so bloody awful.

Re: SA tour (67,519) (67,524) by Andrew from UK
Nobody may have predicted the tour cancellation, as such, but - and, lets be honest - is anybody really that surprised? There's little shock in "Mariah Carey in another career balls-up shocker". What is a little shocking is her continued disregard and nonchalance toward her fans, who might have expected a slightly less disingenuous apology and more detailed explanation, as you rightly point out. "My darlings"? She could have at least written the tweets herself. Really sad for the South American fans because the SSFT is actually really good.

Fan backlash (67,523) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I read some of the comments on social media and they are going bat crap crazy on Mariah. From calling her really bad names to wishing death upon her. It's really getting out of hand. First of all, I feel really bad for the fans, they waited so long for this to happen only to be shattered by the news, but guys please this is no way to treat the person who has been your favorite for so long. Mariah is a lot of things but I do not believe this cancellation was her fault. Her team on the other hand, unprofessional and huge failures. Yes, she chose her team and we all know Mariah isn't the best at choosing whom to have a professional relationship with but please don't start abusing her and telling her to go and die. Mariah's season is almost here and to start it off with such bad news, her brand has been permanently tarnished and no one is making an effort to show her side of the story. Her team needs to understand shielding her from the reality will do more harm than good, unless of course they already know that and is only shielding her because they are benefiting from it. Mariah, please wake up, start communicating with the fans directly. Show them that it's not your fault and that you are doing everything you can to fix this. A tweet means nothings because we all know who is typing it. So make a little effort from the comfort of your home to communicate with your fans and tell them what happened and assure them that you will make up for it. Also please wake up and find a professional and established team who can really support you and not milk your career for their own benefits and then leave once they have take everything away.

Nope they had 3 different promoters from what I've read.

Re: SA tour (67,519) (67,520) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
At least have Mariah make some sort of announcement, by either writing a personal letter (and posting it on social media) or a video where she addresses exactly what went wrong. Thing is at the end of the day it's Mariah's image at stake. The others can easily just jump ships, but Mariah's image wil have to face the blow. She needs to know who she is hiring. Her tour manager (if she even has a proper one and not a member of Bulochnikov family) should have been on this issue from the start. Ensuring everything goes smoothly. Her PR team should have been on overdrive making sure everyone knows this is not Mariah's fault. It's just so annoying. Mariah probably doesn't even know that she is being ripped apart in the media and on social media because her team will hide it.

Re: SA tour (67,516) (67,519) by Licia from USA
I was thinking the same thing as far as the timing goes. You can't make me believe that this problem is all of a sudden came up two days before. Although offering refunds is honorable, fans who purchased tickets deserve answers. I agree that Stella and camp have spent so much time defending or fighting about dumb stuff in the blogs and on social media (the fight defending her kid is the only fight I don't judge her about), but when things like this happens she's all of a sudden mute. This is the moment where you need to open that big old mouth.

Maybe Mexico had different promoters. It is actually in North America. Perhaps we will never know all the business dealings.

Re: SA tour (67,514) (67,516) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
She is being torn apart as we speak. Her team as usual is mum and not actively fighting back to set the record straight. I don't understand how this issue arised just 2 days before the shows. Why didn't her manager get the transactions done before hand and how did this happen last minute? I feel really sorry for the fans who were super excited to see her. She did say she'll try to go there in 2017 so there's still hope. This time they should make sure they get the best promoters in the business. Also Mariah's team should really step up the promo game. I'm so over them just sitting on their behinds thinking her name is enough. I mean people at least need to be aware that Mariah is even coming to these places. Also I don't get why the entire leg was cancelled. I can understand how maybe the promoter of one of these places messed up, but how did all 3 countries mess up together? Yet they kept Mexico which apparently had the lowest ticket sales. I'm really curious to know what actually went wrong. So far it's very vague. Did the promoters just decide not to pay her? Did her team make last minute demands that they didn't want to put up with? I however don't think Mariah really just wanted to walk out of this for no big reason. Something big went wrong for her to cancel because she says she will perform even if 1 fan attends her shows.

Re: SA tour (67,513) (67,515) by Carlos from Brazil
I'm beyond devastated about the cancelation of the tour. We heard the tickets were at about 90% sold according to MariahNow. It would be the my first time seeing this legend live so I hope she comes back really soon. We're waiting for the refund now.

Ok so apparently it was the promoters who broke the contract with Mariah. I hope they make that much more public so she doesn't get dragged in the media.

SA tour (67,513) by Mara from United States
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I remember reading the fans in Brazile saying how bad the ticket situation was and they were desperately trying to get Stella's attention throughout social media. The economic situation is very bad there now and apparently the tickets were bought by those ticket companies and they raked up all the ticket costs or something like that. The fans were having a hard time affording the ticket costs therefore they were not selling that well. Now I don't know in terms of numbers how many actually sold but do you think as she stated it was a promotional thing? Low ticket sales? It's all just so weird sounding. We know she planned on flying out early and that is why she had her Halloween party early. It just doesn't sound right, only three days away. I hope she makes it up to those fans who were looking forward to seeing her for so very long.

Butterfly - angel sound? (67,512) by Ben from Sweden
Am I the only hardcore fan that may imply the sound of angel in Mariah's recordings of the Butterfly album? The last album before you think of vocal damage. Hehe I love Mariah.

Mine was a tie between "Vision of Love" and "The Art of Letting Go" according to iTunes. I actually play those two the most come to think of it. Lol.

Re: What female should Mariah duet with? (67,488) (67,508) by Terna from Nigeria
I would pick Brandy or Deborah Cox for an R&B song or Christina Aguilera for a ballad. These three after Whitney Houston are probably the only females who could actually keep up with Mariah vocally especially with the runs and not have her holding back too much like with Jussie. Ariana is a no for me though, her voice isn't Mature enough for a duet with such a hefty voice as Mariah's.

Can't figure it out, it is between Breakdown or Butterfly. Since it's released, I played Almost Home almost everyday. For years to come, I believe Almost Home is going to be in my list for the most listened-to song.
