Quote unquote "blue eyed soul" (67,089)
by Edouard from France
| |
|
|
I find it interesting how Mariah's "The art of letting" was very trying to bring back the "blue eyed soul". Some fans didn't know what to do with the song. I always felt like it was reminiscent of "Stop" by Sam Brown (released in 1989) and that most of us know better from Jamalia's cover (from the Bridget Jones' soundtrack 2004). When you think about it, Selena Gomez released this year "Same old love", Britney Spears has a few blue eyed soul numbers on her latest album, and JoJo's (I love her) new track "Mad Love" is also very blue eyed soul. One again Mariah's ahead of her time.

Re: Mariah Insta followers (67,082) (67,088)

I don't care of those Instagram and Facebook followers. Beyoncé and some wannabe stars like Kim (for me she isn't a star, only rich) could have the whole world as "followers", they are nothing compared to Mariah. What Mariah received is incomparable. I watched a video on YouTube from the Daydream tour in France. Mariah was only 25 and people were freaking out. Chaos on the streets, it had something from the scenes when Michael Jackson appeared. But I completely agree with you that the kid who is running Mariah's instagram needs to go. Mariah needs a professional for the "new media". I wish all the lambs and true fans a fabulous weekend.

Really and truly do you still consider yourself a fan of Mariah? It's clear that Mariah, the artist that we all fell in love with no longer exists but many of us still do love her. I do believe everyone should vent how they feel but Andrew you never seem to have anything nice to say about her. Why are you still following her every move when clearly you can't stand her, it's as if you loathe her? Seriously you need to make better choices with your time and put energy into an artist that you respect and admire because clearly it isn't Mariah anymore. I'm not directing this at you out of spite, I'm just stating the obvious. I really don't understand your objectives other than to darken the perception of Mariah like yours.

I really don't get the point why he is still here when all of the things he says are negative towards Mariah, even mocking her to that extent. If you have nothing good or positive to say, go find some place to vent out that kind of vibe and attitude because honestly you're affecting the mood on this board. Like enough is enough.

Forgive Mariah (67,083)
by Merr Hasenan from Malaysia

I try to stay positive on every comment made by lambs here. I read every single post and try not to be offended. But there were some posts that made me cry and hurt my feeling. I believe others too. Maybe we are "Mariah is always great lambs" and we adore every single thing that Mariah put out there. That is because I love Mariah very much from her day one and I rather forgive her for her "awful actings, terrible lip-synching, clowning herself around or her terrible duet". She is doing so much positivity for my life. Sounds cliche? That is the truth. Please forgive Mariah if she keeps giving you her awfulness. Please keep your opinion to the haters because they will enjoy it. It really hurts to read all the negativity. I know it will hurt Mariah's feeling too. I guess we will never stop bashing her even after she's gone. But maybe for you, at least she will share stories with MJ and Whitney in heaven about the ongoings haters. Please forgive me for my forever love to everything Mariah. I am blind to her awfulness but I choose to love her more.

Mariah Insta followers (67,082)
by JAXGH from United States

|

Who else finds it a bit sad Mariah hasn't cracked the 2 digit (10) million mark? Beyonce has 86 million, Mariah can't even reach 5 lol. I know we should be thankful for the 4 million she has but damn, even Madonna has 8 million and she debuted way before Mimi. She really needs to start marketing herself a lot better. Take a look at Beyonce and Kim's instagram page. Everything is all even out, all on point. From filters, quality, the angling, the framing of every shot. You can really tell they value their brand. Someone obviously knows how to make their instagram irresistible to follow. Then look at Mariah's iPhone quality, ugly filters, blurred, horribly photoshopped, mediocre posts. Even if this docuseries becomes successful, if she still doesn't hire a social media marketer, then no one really will be interested on following her. Most of her posts are eye sores. I know she obviously doesn't care about insta (Thirsty reference lol: "so you stunting on your instagram but that shit ain't everything"). But it is everything when it comes to being a superstar. The more they see a lot of people follow you, the more in demand you are, the more jobs you get. So she needs to start hiring a legitimate photographer and let him run your account. Care about your brand and image for God's sake. No more post from this 12 year old kid who doesn't know anything about marketing. Instagram is everything in today's world.

I too have noticed "Brexit boy's" race baiting, tantrums and his general state of having his knickers in a knot. He obviously craves attention and can hardly hide his fear of a multiracial planet. Pitiful.

I'm convinced that British Donald Trump is being paid for these bi-weekly tantrums about everything Mariah does. Nothing else makes sense. I'm all for not blindly agreeing with everything Mariah does and have been classified as negative numerous times, but there is no reason why every time a person comes out and gives their opinion they have to talk about her like she shot up an elementary school or was responsible for the Paris bombings. It isn't, has not and will never be that serious over something as small as a 2 minute guest appearance. When 98% of the things a person says have to involve a wealth of expletives and race-baiting for a finishing touch, clearly there's some incentive that's motivating them because BDT is trying to press every hot button possible to tempt people to curse him out. It's intentional, not just his personality. Even as a "negative" lamb, the stuff that BDT says is way too damn polarizing to support. I don't know if Miley or Demi are signing the checks, but I hope the price is right.

I so agree with you review Andrew. While I'm happy Mariah has received generally positive press from this small cameo, it was a cringe fest for me. She really is the worst actress and needs to stop getting acting opportunities because she doesn't have the talent in that arena nor the "look". The way Mariah looks now is like a wax figurine of herself. Empire only highlighted that fact she's clearly had plastic surgery done. Whatever she's doing to her face and the lace front wigs she's wearing more often is just terrible. I wish she'd just age gracefully and accept that for what it is. If she left the fillers, botox and whatever else she's doing she would still be beautiful and not like some chipmunk who played in her mother's makeup box.

Mariah's acting in anything is pointless because: She. Cannot. Act. At. All. She is, perhaps, one of the worst actresses of all time. To make it worse, if she really was "playing herself" she somehow managed to [censored] even that up. Couple her crap acting with her crap lip-syncing (which is essentially acting, also) and the whole thing is terrible. Triple that with whatever she has done to her face (starting to look like an alien - definitely looks nothing like she used to) and the whole thing is unbearable. Quadruple that with the (awfully acted) plug for her tour and the whole thing becomes farce. The show is pure unadulterated crap, anyway, so you are right, Edward, in that it was pointless. To humour her massive vanity projects (get ready for soft-lit Hallmark close-ups even William Shatner would be jealous of) is as pathetic as her doing them in the first place. Still, at least Empire had a white character on it. Somebody tell her she cannot act. She can't even pretend to sing her own bloody songs. Awful.

It sure enough wasn't a "challenging" role. She basically played a toned down Mariah, that is a Mariah without the "dahlin'" and vocal fry and flipping her head to get the hair to cover her face. But it was a good exposure in the sense that a lot of the casual fans/non fans were surprised to see her and actually liked her performance and the song. I personally do not think Mariah is a strong actress. And that is completely fine, her main job is to be a singer and Lord knows she delivers that part time and time again. I would however love for her to take chances and get her name involved in popular TV shows. I would have loved for her to be in "How To Get Away With Murder" or AHS but I do not know how she will be able to cope with serious shows. But they can write in characters around her real character, say a big pop star in legal trouble for "How To Get Away", a one episode stint, or an over the top being chased by the bad guy in a short stint on AHS. But those won't be challenging, however it would be fun and get her exposure. I would love for her to appear in "Scream Queens". She will fit right in with the fur coats and jewellery and expensive clothes/shoes/bags. Haha. Plus it would really give her an opportunity to show off her sense of humor. Something people don't know about.

Well maybe the data is deceiving, it was the top show for that hour across major stations, but when compared to Empire's own data from the previous week, the numbers were lower (9.25 million vs. 9.6 million the previous week). Anyhow, agreed it was a great little PR gig for her. From a creative standpoint, "Kitty" was everything "Mariah Carey" - I couldn't tell that she was in character, so not sure it was a challenging creative outlet for her.

What did Alicia's character "mean"? She had a little fling wit Jussie, so surely that would be off the table for the Kitty character too. But many think they have set the Kitty character up for a possible future fling with Andre. So perhaps Jussie and Andre will join her on tour in Hawaii, since Jussie is not ready for the South American leg. Lucious mentioned that Jussie was high as a kite, so they are obviously putting addiction into the story arc. It has also been said that Lee wanted Mariah to come on as Mariah, but she wanted a character, so maybe this is their way of giving each what they wanted especially for the short time she had available to do the show. I do think he was motivated by the thought of recording with one of his idols and helped in his mind by the pills.

That's interesting, because Mariah Carey Australia posted a photo of the number of viewers, and Empire came out on top from 8pm onwards, with 9.25 million viewers. Maybe worldwide not so much.

Wendy covered Mariah's Empire debut. She praised Mariah a lot. From her looks/outfits/hair to her character. She also said that like many other people she hopes that Kitty can somehow become a recurring character and Mariah should consider it. I personally don't think that's necessary, I mean down the line, sure 1 more episode maybe but that's it. But it's nice to see that her appearance made such an impact that a lot of people want her back on the show. Really happy for that. Mariah consider "How To Get Away With Murder", AHS, and she should go for "Scream Queens". It'll be perfect. Scream Queens is so extra, I love it. Mariah will fit in perfectly.
