Re: Empire and new music (67,059) (67,066) by Will from England
That's interesting, because Mariah Carey Australia posted a photo of the number of viewers, and Empire came out on top from 8pm onwards, with 9.25 million viewers. Maybe worldwide not so much.

Bruno Mars new song has auto-tune also (67,065) by Sheila from United States
So maybe Mariah was totally on point with jussies autotune. I loved the show it was great marketing to make [...] "trend" again. Smart move by all parties involved.

Wendy (67,064) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Wendy covered Mariah's Empire debut. She praised Mariah a lot. From her looks/outfits/hair to her character. She also said that like many other people she hopes that Kitty can somehow become a recurring character and Mariah should consider it. I personally don't think that's necessary, I mean down the line, sure 1 more episode maybe but that's it. But it's nice to see that her appearance made such an impact that a lot of people want her back on the show. Really happy for that. Mariah consider "How To Get Away With Murder", AHS, and she should go for "Scream Queens". It'll be perfect. Scream Queens is so extra, I love it. Mariah will fit in perfectly.

Re: Empire and new music (67,059) (67,063) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Keep in mind that reports show that all shows were down on ratings that day while some Southern US stations apparently covered the threat of the hurricane. Empire also topped the Nielsen Social Content ratings and much ahead of AHS (which has a huge following). So yes. As for the new song, I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet. Before the last leg of Vegas Mariah said we are likely going to hear her debut multiple songs, one each night, replacing "Infinity" but at the end of the day she only replaced it with ILT, that too only for the last few shows.

Infamous chart update (67,062) by Malcolm from Asia
Wow Infamous is currently at #26 on iTunes Single Charts and now it also reaches #10 on iTunes Pop Charts. Hope it will be like this for the rest of the week. Good vibes lambs.

Kitty, Jussie and his hit the right-note pills (67,061) by Edward from USA
I know I'm going to be slowly tortured, killed, cut into pieces and thrown to the lambs, but I actually think Mariah's semi-cameo on Empire was pointless and didn't actually had much to do with what her character was supposed to be doing for Jussie. There wasn't even any real interaction between Jussie and Kitty to justify her helping him save the day. He hits the wrong note, turns his back to everybody, pops a pill, and then everything comes out right. So, who was helping him, Kitty or the pill that he popped? It was as if Mariah needed to plug in her upcoming tour in exchange for a brief appearance on the show to hopefully bring some ratings to the show. Even though the song had been out for about a week before the episode aired, I was watching iTunes by the time the episode ended, and to my surprise, Infamous didn't show anywhere on iTunes Top 100. Not even briefly. It is as if her fanbase has shrunk so drastically that we cannot even make a brief impact with the aid of a popular TV show. And for those who claim that those who sometimes criticize her don't support her, I bought the song twice again after the episode. I don't understand how they could write Alicia Keys' character in a way that it made sense and meant something, but Mariah's was just thrown in there.

Empire still won its timeslot.

Empire and new music (67,059) by DK from USA
Unfortunately, Mariah's starpower did not translate well in the show ratings, which were lower than the week before. According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday's "Empire" drew a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating and 9.24 million total viewers. The numbers trail the 3.7 rating and 9.65 million viewer mark garnered by last week's episode.
Regarding new music, MC hinted (in this interview, min 7:25) that she may "possibly debut" a new song which could be ready by the time her Latin American leg of the tour reaches Brazil. There seems to be zero chemistry between her and the interviewer who seems rather clueless, otherwise MC is on point throughout the questions.

Infamous and new stuff (67,058) by MusicfanJ from Germany
It's nice to have Infamous but I really need new material from Mariah. And only Mariah. It's like an addiction. The good thing is that I can listen to my MC-playlist and enjoy it everytime.

Empire (67,055) by darrian liu from taiwan
I was legit jumping up and down on my seat during the whole episode waiting for Mariah and I was so excited when I got to her parts. I wished her character has more backstory though, I really want to see Kitty in more episodes. I'm also really happy that the GP loved Mimi and her song in Empire.

Re: Empire (67,042) (67,054) by Licia from USA
I haven't watched yet, but I'm glad the general public liked the episode and the song. She's always said that she could write and sing a song for any occasion. Love it or hate it Infamous fit with the mood of the show.

Re: Good side (67,034) (67,053) by Licia from USA
The good side thing died down for a good while until about 2004-2005. In between that time she went back to the good side thing, but it wasn't bad imo. Now it's horrible. She's fixated on it more than ever now.

Re: Empire thoughts (67,044) (67,052) by B from USA
I've been reading tweets and reviews all morning and the consensus is Mariah Carey slayed. This was a smart move on both her part and Empire's. Best of all it left you wanting more from her.

Mariah Carey twitter is calling a Treasure (67,050) by Sheila from United States
The national treasure that is Mariah Carey finally made her long awaited debut on Fox's "Empire" Wednesday night (Octpber 5), and even though her character's name is Kitty, we needed more of her. Mariah Carey, the public wants her to be a series regular as Andre's new love interest.

She's human. I think it makes her relatable. She's beautiful but even beautiful people have insecurities.

Upcoming schedule (67,045) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So Mariah's schedule seems to be jam packed. First of all check out this new leaked photo of her collection with MAC. Bye bye money, hello broke life. Love the packing. Gold and glitter, so Mariah. I also love the butterflies on the lipstick. Can't wait for the reveal. I was thinking of listing her upcoming appearances/projects. As far as I know:
SSFT Latin America
Make a Wish Foundation event
Hawaii leg of SSFT tour
MAC launch
Beacon shows
Agent Provocateur (is this actually happening?)
Lego Batman
Her Valentine's Day movie (Hallmark)

Empire thoughts (67,044) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I thought Mariah did fine in Empire. She looked great, her song got a lot of attention. The general public seems to love her appearance and the song so I guess as a lamb I am always way more demanding (but that's maybe because I know her whole catalogue and not just chart toppers). But since the GP is on her side, I'd gladly take that and celebrate. I do wish her role was a bit longer and they somehow found a way to make it a little more substantial. Let's say they included scenes of her writing the song with Jamal or coaching him somewhat. When they said "Kitty helps Jamaal overcome his obstacles", I thought there will be some mentoring moments. That would pave the way for her character to return. But overall I'm happy to see the general public responding so positively to her character. It's really nice to see them going gaga over her. It has been way too long since we got a reaction like this. I hope she takes chances and gets on some more well known TV shows.

Re: Demi (67,037) (67,043) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
What really got Demi in hot water was the comment about how she said Taylor Swift and her squad members have "unrealistic bodies" which is honestly such a stupid comment, I don't understand if this girl even has a brain. How can it be "unrealistic bodies"? Just because they are skinny? It would have been unrealistic if they used photoshop in photos to make it look like something they aren't. So is Demi suggesting that Taylor and her friends somehow found a way to "photoshop" themselves while they are walking around in real life? Demi is really stupid. To say their body type is unrealistic is her just hating. There is no "normal body" type. Some people are skinny, some chubby, some on the meatier side. None of them have a "wrong body type". Demi deserves all the backlash she gets. I am not even a Taylor Swift fan but Demi basically is just thirsty. This girl basically inserts herself in situations where she is not even a factor and then she plays the victim. In her head she is defending her "friends". I have never seen Katy or Ariana or JLo referring to Demi as their friends, neither do they need her to defend them. They are all more relevant than her, even JLo is more relevant than Demi and she is twice her age. This "break" won't last for more than 24 hours because the woman lives for attention. She'll come back with a nude spread talking about how she won't let haters affect her career. Then she'll call herself a feminist and bash some other artist to get attention to that interview because lord knows no one is checking for Demi interviews only for her boring answers. Demi dug her own grave when she came for the queen of the music industry, Miss Mariah Carey.

Empire (67,042) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah did great and I really like the song now when I hear it. Good moment for Mimi. I wish they had switched up her fashion though. I am looking for that high glam, high fashion moment, not the frilly unitard and see through gown moment. But she looked and sounded great.

I'm also not pissed because (67,040) by Marissa from USA
Upon further research, the general consensus from what I'm reading online about the Empire episode is that the song is amazing. Infamous is not my cup of tea, but if society at large is enjoying it (which is always the ultimate goal, half of the rage people experience when MC puts out a song that they don't like is really fear that the general public will have the same unfavorable perception), I see no reason for me to get myself worked up about it. Literally every non-lamb tweet that I'm seeing is saying that it's a bop. I'm counting this as a victory whether I'm really into the song or not.
