Makeup collection (68,499)
by Lila from United States
| |
|
|
I am quite excited for the new makeup collection. Many of the professional makeup artists have been sent the products ahead of time and all of the swatches they've done look amazing, as does the packaging. I do love makeup though. I'm cool with non-music endeavors as long as they're constructive and don't include vodka or butterfly water. Mariah loves beauty products. Since she wants to make more money, she could develop her own independent makeup line. She loves lingerie, so instead of flashing us hers she could do her own lingerie brand, a serious one. She has so many avenues open to her, she could make so many things happen with tenacity and hard work. Heck, she loves diamonds so much, she could've done her own jewelry collection. So many options.

Let her live (68,498)

After following this message board for a few months I can't even believe how much hate is on here. First off the [censored] you all get into about her personal business is so out there it's ridiculous. Let the woman breathe. Fans are supposed to be here for the music, attend some shows and just love her for the artist that she is. You all sit here and make fun of one another and then focus on any bad "press" and any other [censored] that you think you know about. You all don't know [censored].

I agree with Will, plus she already has her 3rd annual series of Christmas shows in NYC. Isn't that enough?

This is why Mariah doesn't sing impromptu. 00:46. It's like watching a heroine addict ask for a tourniquet.

Why would they ask her back? She can't sing that song anymore. It was awful. She acted like a disrespectful diva and got punched in the lower leotard for it. No high ground.

I saw her response, so cute. It would be awesome if M. could have a viral internet moment with some of her classic music. Migrate maybe?

These videos have been hilarious. They have a video of Shirley Cesar's reaction. She's a good sport and she played along.

Wow with big fans like you as well as many others who have said recently that they are calling it quits with Mariah or considering to just not bother with her new work, it really seems like her career is suffering a major blow. This is what I was scared of. Mariah is isolating what's left of her fan base and she has gone from this girl who didn't fit in and people could relate to, to this over the top, extra dramatic, diva. It's like the image she created has swallowed her and now she is nothing but materialistic stuff. It honestly is sad because I could always proudly say how Mariah is above these publicity stunts, and nip slips and fake relationship crap that all the other celebs need and I was happy that she managed to be so successful based solely off her talent. She didn't need gimmicks, she didn't need dancers and lights to distract people. All she had to do was get on stage and sing her heart out. How times have changed. With James finally leaving, now Mariah has no one around her except for people on her pay roll. Her kids are young so they can't guide her. But right now, she has nothing but vultures around her who will feed her ego while they get their money and the lifestyle. But it's also true that no matter how much I blame Stella, it was Mariah's decision to hire her. Maybe we just have to accept that this is what Mariah wants, because no one can tell me that a woman with 26+ years experience in the show business and having seen it all (professionally and personally) would fail to make a decision about who to hire as a manager. Like she wouldn't hire Stella, a reality show producer with zero management experience, to run the career of her, a singer, if that's not what she wanted. Maybe this is what she wants, but she finds it easier to blame the team with her "oh I didn't wanna do it, my team kinda made me do the show" thing. Hard to accept but oh well.

Mariah, it's one line, just sing it (68,488)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |

|
I swear sometimes Mariah can be so extra, like in this snap chat clip. Why can't she just sing 1 line? She didn't even have to sing a whole line, only "Is You". Yet she pulls the "oh honey I'm not singing today dahlin'". Like why the heck not? You're a professional singer. I have defended her saying these in the past during interviews because I thought that it was understandable that she may be nervous to not sounding perfect (since she is called the songbird supreme), and hence she feels like she has to always sound perfect. But this was literally 2 freaking words. She didn't even have to sing, just say the words. Yet she pulls this card. Like what are you so scared about? And it isn't like she was on vocal rest because she was having a press day during this time.

Read this article. Probably this is why the collaboration with Bruno Mars won't happen anytime soon. He just won't do it with all the circus around her. This explains also why most of us aren't exicted with Mariah's World.

I believe that she has always been this way, there were always hints of this in all the past videos and interviews. I just think they were all heavily edited and let's recall she had publicists who were very strict to what she could be asked and answer. I believe that since Butterfly more of the real Mariah emerged, she was too succesful but didn't feel free. With Glitter I felt that that was the Mariah who she wanted to be. Somehow I think with the time her eccentric personality and tastes escalated, she lives in Mariah's world since a fair amount of time, she is obvlivious to what happens around the world, as shown by the number of times she performed for dictators, etc. Mariah jokes of having a nail broken and in need of assistance became too real. Perhaps what once was an exageration of her character to be funny simply became her, or maybe she always was. Her insecurities from the beginning made her always want to be "the pretty girl in the room", I noticed that since day one, her VHS debut reeks to "look at me" with her flirting hair, her almost fake laughs to sound sexy. But back then she had this mix of humble, fragile looking, sweet talking, so everything else didn't matter. I look at pics in IG and I see those 1992s next to the ones today and can't help to think "how did she change so much from that" as in, all it matters is the hair, the make up and the damn sunglasses that it upsets me so much at times, it even looks rude when people talk to her and puts them on. I put up with some antics only because the music, because Andrew was right in the end about her just shoving her wealth lately and I'm effing tired and disgusted by it. I don't care she is rich, matter of fact I was part of her becoming rich, it bothers me she lives in kukuland world "oh darling I was left with dem bills for thid diamonds", just feaking wear them, don't need to mention it every single interview or that ring going on every picture. Mariah has become so materialistic it's a big turn off. I can't listen to her lately because nothing with substance or intelligent comes out of her mouth, more boring divaism which aren't even jokes anymore, they are very real. Her reluctance to sing acapellas also are annoying, as if she had to be paid every single time someone asks her to sing one miserable line. I care zero her outfits, she could go out naked for all I care, here it's not even against the law haha but if she was somewhat humble, more centered, showing awareness. But all she cares is how sexy she looks in x pose and the only awareness she shows is for the cameras. I can't blame Stella and her wacko team because this has been going on since years before. I will be watching the show though and see if there's anything funny or anything redeeming of the woman who once made me smile with her silliness. Maybe all the trailers are the typical build up and then when you watch the show it was nothing but over dramatized stuff. Wow, felt I needed to take this out of my chest. Mariah is genuily making me tired. I'm only waiting for a new album to debate with myself if calling it quits. What heartbreaking ballad can she write, "my billionaire bf left me with dem bills and I had to pay my diamond rings". Not feeling it. It will require a lot to beat Hello, and another Bye Bye won't make it.

Who is also feeling this trap remix to Shirley Ceasar's classic? The internet can be hilarious. This song has people so hype for Thanksgiving. All Mariah might need is one good organic viral moment. Sometimes just something funny, timely and catchy can happen to an artist. This one was so unexpected and it's rather silly, but the music bangs. I miss the days, especially in 2008 when fans were making cute videos, or all the parodies to her TMB video. M.'s team is working so hard planting moments that are often unflattering to M. Too bad they are not creative enough and protective enough of her image to plug into the good aspects of the web. I do like the yearly fan videos of AIWFCIY, so there is that.

If you are referring to my post, I am not defending his behavior, just wondering why some of you or Mariah should care about it. This is not the 1950's and just like Mariah could live with a man during her divorce and may or may not fornicate, so could Nick date and have sex. Lol. Many of you wanted him out of her life babies and all and so it is. They are both grown and I don't drag Mariah daily, but I will speak up about her constant nonsense which has been going on almost daily for the past year or so. This is not a Nick board, but people love to bring up any perceived thing about him or blame him when Mariah is acting out of wack. Anyway, it takes two to make a marriage work and if they both want to move on, then so it is. Mariah wants the kids the majority of the time and I am sure Nick thinks that best I am just hoping that never changes, like it did for a certain Britney. That is why I often bring it up when M. is not acting cute.

New album (68,481)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

While I am all for a great Mariah ballad I hope this will not be the entire formula for the new album. Mariah's strength has always been her mass appeal being able to satisfy the masses with array of genres and undertones. I think she should start the new era with a strong uptempo that has cross over appeal but knocks in the clubs, without being cheesy. To be honest Mariah pulling the pity herself card will not work because people don't feel sorry for a successful woman who has been spoiled and mean who broke up with her supposed Prince Charming. She needs to show her fun and humble side first, then hit the masses over the head with a nice classic MC ballad but the overall message of the album should be heartfelt and fun with MC showing herself as that serious artist that masses have missed.

Hmm, I don't know if It's a fact that Mariah was obsessing over Em but it' s definitely a fact that he obsessed over her for years. I will say I do believe that Mariah was feeling Em for a brief moment while she was with Luis but like Em even said himself, "She just stopped calling." So, maybe Mariah stopped calling because she found out Em is truly a "slim shady" if you know what I mean, lol. Even in his song The Warning Em kind of elludes to that. Anyways I wish Nick the best. Babies are truly a blessing.

Ugh, Mariah is overweight and thinks she's hot. Fine, be overweight. but don't get it all out and act like you're hot. You're not. It's really bizarre. The self-delusion is pretty worrying. And the leotards need to stop. I'm convinced she would get her vagina out if she could get away with it.

Mariah should pull out of this show. Every other singer on the bill can out-sing the shit out of her live now. This will have everyone hiding behind the sofa, praying that she doesn't do too much damage. Hardly an enjoyable experience, I don't think, whilst hoping that she has enough dignity left not to lip-sync on that stage.

Article: Mariah Carey recording breakup album after split (68,476)
by Andrew from UK
| |
|
|
Mariah may want to rethink her tired old approach to making records. "Mariah Carey makes album asking for sympathy, moaning about how hard her life is after the oddly-behaved, washed-up lip sync diva splits from pretend engagement to a billionaire" is hardly going to inspire the public. Whereas once people may have bought into her releasing her inner turmoil through song, that ship has long since sailed. She's seen as a vain, self-obsessed, publicity seeking has-been who treats people badly. Writing a woe-is-me album won't even go down well with fans, I don't think, who no longer really believe that she has much depth and kindness. Nobody feels sorry for her. Better she writes a party album and sings good hooks to good beats. At least people might invest in that.

Don't you dare sit up here and remotely sound like you're defending Nick's trifling behavior when you come on here and drag Mariah daily. Chile please just like Mariah can be a mess with some of her antics, Nick is a hot mess for getting a woman pregnant out of wedlock. Now he's gonna be another part time parent to a child who's mother he's not with. Not cute. Not cute at all. *rant over*
