Re: Oh here the rumors come for the kids (68,101) (68,111) by Licia from USA
I thought the same thing about JP's children never being seen with them at first but then I started to think that maybe the ex wife didn't want her children to be photographed or be put in all that surrounding Mariah. Maybe JP didn't want them to be involved either. He has no control over what Mariah does with her kids, but if he and/or the ex decided they didn't want their kids involved then I respect that decision. I could definitely see that JP had no interaction with Roc and Roe in the pictures though. It looked like he had no interest in getting to know them or interacting with them. I've said that before and certain folks here got mad at me and tried to make excuses for it.

Re: Bryan Tanaka (68,092) (68,110) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah really needs to learn that she will always be taken advantage of as long as the only friends she surrounds herself with people that are on her payroll. Especially people who have no morals and will say anything Mariah wants to hear just to experience her lifestyle.

Patti Labelle to perform VH1 Divas Holiday special (68,109) by 123 from USA
I have to watch now. Mariah better bring it because Patti will blow her away on stage. It would be great if Mariah made sure she was in rare vocal form.

Mariah's family (68,108) by JAXGH from United States
I never thought the day would come where Mimi's fans would reference Mimi's mom in that manner. Patricia Carey worked multiple jobs and tried her best to keep her family afloat. She's literally the one who instilled that faith in Mariah. Always tells her to say "when I make it". Allison may have gone astray but that's none of Pat's control. Kids could be rebels and sometimes you can't stop them when they want to get away from you. It doesn't mean she didn't try her best to love her kids. Allison is the rebel out of the 3. Morgan was independent. Mariah was the intelligent one. You all have to realize that no family is perfect and their family was already facing harsh racism attacks from all corners of New York before Mariah even came to the world. Imagine eating dinner and someone just shoots a bullet to your window. Imagine going outside seeing your dogs and cats dead, killed by the people next door. Imagine kids purposely scaring you knocking on your windows (Mariah referenced girls would do this to her when she was little). Imagine getting spit on the face. Imagine every neighborhood you moved to, rejecting you. Imagine not being able to take any sides (not black or white). Imagine your own freaking family (Pat's side) disowning you. It would naturally put a strain in any kid's development. I can only imagine how much Pat tried her best to love and protect them, though no matter how much Pat loves her kid, they were still bound to struggle. But with struggles, comes blessings. They were given Mariah. All those years of tears, heartbreaks, having no permanent home, tensions, financial problems, turmoil, attacks and absurd cruelty. The Lord saw all of that. They were blessed more than they could ever imagine with Mariah. A girl with an extra ordinary voice who was meant to unite the music industry has had to have come from a dysfunctional, oppressed, multiracial family rooted in hardship. Mariah fulfilled that purpose and Patricia definitely helped her get across the raging river. So at least give her that credit. I honestly just pray that one day, they leave behind whatever happened, be a family for once and let forgiveness take over. I don't know how deep the wounds are but I know the Lord definitely has a purpose as to why Mariah was put in this family. I pray she realizes it, let love take over and just live with no enmity in her heart.

Music question (68,107) by Manny from U.S.
I was listening to "One more try". Around 4:41 Mariah says something that I can't make out. Right before she says "you are my teacher" and "might as well" after. Anyone make out the rest?

Her marketing (68,105) by IfWeeeeee from Over There
Whatever legacy she had acquired from the years of working her ass off in the 90s, are now gone. The public view her more now as a spoiled, no class, misbehaving diva rather an an artist/singer. And the clothes she's been wearing lately, I don't care if they're expensive, but they look tacky. Tacky. It's sad, really. How the mighty has fallen.

Re: JD, you're so lucky to have run as far... (68,091) (68,104) by Mara from United States
You hit the nail on the head Edward. I remember during the Mottola days, when she must have been so unhappy and probably as crazy as this sounded, spent a lot of time in the bathroom literally taking baths or whatever. I remember her saying she wrote Close My Eyes in the tub and looking out the window seeing the orange clouds. She simply doesn't have enough time to focus and reconnect with herself. Nevermind us, the fans. Mariah needs to reconnect with Mariah. The true, real Mariah. Only then will the deeper more meaningful lyrics come, and I'm sure if she does this that the songs will just flow. She still has it. All those songs we all connected to came from a deep place. I just wish she would slow down a bit and put the charades away. Hell, I even thought we would get more of those type of songs when Roc and Roe were born but all we got was Supernatural, while it's a good song and captures the kids forever on a track, it really isn't taking me to a place where her head was while reflecting back on them. Ok I'm getting way to deep now but the fans that appreciate those type of Butterfly, Close My Eyes, Looking In, Petals and FLAB, type songs know what I am getting at. Back to what Edward mentioned though, maybe after the Christmas rush, in January when she usually goes to the islands, she could go on vacation, and a vacation away from Stella and her empowering people and just figure things out and clear her head. Maybe the music would come back if she did that. Maybe we would start to recognize the woman we all connected with in one way or another again.

Fantasy 1996/2016 (68,103) by 123 from USA
With all this tabloid fodder she seems to want to indulge in for this reality - I mean, docuseries, she better bring the vocals for these next performances so I have something substantial to focus on and enjoy. I really enjoyed this comparison of 1996 and 2016 Fantasy vocals.

Re: The Truth is Morgan (68,097) (68,102) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Now you're making a really convincing point. He could be Morgan or at the very least be a member of the Carey clan to know such private information, not to mention the tone the posts are stated in - that blend of genuine concern, affection, anger and the pain that can only come from an estranged relative, close friend, or family member. Whether he is or isn't doesn't really matter - he is still one of those few posters who can break the monotony that this board can slip into at times. Acquired taste.

Re: Oh here the rumors come for the kids (68,095) (68,101) by Lila from United States
I definitely agree and the same goes for James. No stepparents here. It was weird as all heck that James' kids were never seen with them and Roc and Roe were in James' presence or near it but never interacted with him. Not the actions of two people in love and trying to be a new blended family.

Is like all the other dancers, trying to be "put on". Mariah appears to have a parasite crew around her, willing to use her celebrity to get put on. Pray for Mariah.

The View discusses prenup (68,098) by RibbonB from USA
I just saw a clip of the ladies on The View discussing the prenup on this mornings show. It was so funny when Whoopi said "she would never charge Mr. Packer that much", then she looked at the screen with his picture, then said, "well then again, maybe". Before the end of the segment she said "Mr. Packer call a bitch", the shade. Whoopi likes both Mariah and Nick, but she will crack a joke. I think Joy was on M.'s side, at least based on the rumors.

Re: The Truth is Morgan (68,093) (68,097) by Lannister from USA
Only went back to '15 for these. Notice a theme?
11/16 Looks to me like Morgan is doing fine, in fact he stayed out of the public eye for like 25 years. I think he just realized it was best to get he and his beautiful wife as far away from the madness as possible. They look pretty happy.
11/5 Look at Mariah's behavior, Alison's situation and lifestyle, and the fact that Morgan and his wife chose to move to Italy. Apparently Patricia's conduct as a parent was pretty destructive, the proof is in the putting. Just because Patricia taught Mariah to sing hardly absolves of the abuse she inflicted upon her kids.
10/29 That interview Morgan gave a while ago saying that he was scared for her really sounds to me to be having more and more weight.
9/2 I've seen Morgan doing 22 clapping pushups for our veterans on his FB page, he doesn't look old to me and he and his gorgeous wife look very happy to me.
8/29 No idea where you get your info. Their dad left everything to Alison, her kids, and his companion at the time. Mariah and Morgan got nothing. Don't pretend to know what you don't know
7/20 I think it's so strange how we see this sort of very odd behavior over and over again from Mariah and yet her brother and his wife seem so happy, natural, and down to earth.
7/11 Even her brother who launched her career lives in Italy and I haven't seen one picture of them together.
3/4 Singer songwriter Gavin Christopher who was introduced to Mariah by her brother Morgan while she was still in high school with whom she recorded, the unreleased, "I Just Can't Hold It Back".
3/15/15 Regarding being out alone with MC's brother, these pics of him online depict him as someone she was probably feeling pretty safe with.

I don't expect her or her people to speak out to the press, since they could very well have planted that little tidbit too. This is the same camp who let out videos of children playing in a hotel room and thought that was cute. I put nothing past Camp Stellar. But yes we agree that pulling the kids into the mix is ridiculous. Also, M. had no plans of being a stop mom, I am sure of it.

Bryan Tanaka (68,092) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
With all of his more recent appearances with Mariah that usually don't make sense or are just confusing in general, he strikes me as:
- a thirsty choreographer who wants to be on DWTS so badly
- a desperate opportunist who's enjoying his 15 minutes of fame-by-association a bit too much
- Mariah's closeted gay BFF (though he may very well be really straight but he sure acts like one)
- a clueless hitchhiker who is yet to realize that the trip he tagged along with may turn out to be more that what he bargained for
- to give him the benefit of the doubt, he simply may be a sincere friend who just hangs out with Mariah a lot (but then again who are we kidding, really)

JD, you're so lucky to have run as far... (68,091) by Edward from USA
Mariah, like Prince and Michael Jackson, has created a bubble she can always be in control of. She's surrounded herself with "yes people", just like the other two. She can't exist by herself for one second, the posse has to follow her wherever she goes. When does she have the time to be with herself to reach within and come out with unrushed meaningful great lyrics? Mariah could pull a great song even when if it came to her while she was peacefully doing number 2 writing the lyrics on the toilet paper she was about to use. Visual-pun intended, lol. She was unstoppable. Her music was what represented her. She was known for her voice; the rest was just some welcomed extra. I don't really care about her personal life much, but often wonder why her diva ways have overshadowed her legendary status as a great vocalist and lyricist. It pains me when I read people's comments on YouTube stating that Mariah sounds like Ariana instead of the other way around. It is sad to see people blaming Patricia for whatever negative Mariah involves herself in. Many of us fans like to play the blaming game when it comes the bad things Mariah is clearly responsible for. Patricia did the best she could with the situation she was facing while raising her biracial kids. she pulled through against all odds. Mariah, Alison, and Morgan are three grown ass people and they only have themselves to blame for whatever decisions they make in their lives, not Patricia. Let's remember that when you point a finger at someone, there are three other of your own fingers pointing back at you. Nobody's perfect, we all have had to deal with shit in our lives.

Let's play the make-believe game? (68,089) by Edward from USA
It's evident to me that all this mess that's happening with Mariah and Packer is a publicity stunt. A publicity stunt they're both taking part in, with Mariah's team feeding information to the most notorious gossip outlets, letting the other gossip website follow up and make up whatever along the way. TMZ usually reports on things that they have some receipt for. Just like when magically they got hold of a perfect Mariah's voice recording of her Vegas gig right before it started, she's feeding the gossip parading herself with Mr. Tanaka, carefully playing with her ring thus playing everybody who is willing to keep entertaining this ridiculous madness. I'm almost certain that, while many lambs here are burning in flames trying to make some sense of what it is happening, Mariah and James are probably laughing it all up, and they might or might not come out happily married putting the rumours to sleep. Believe me, whether they're a real couple or not, there's going to be a public statement to supposedly clear everything up. I wonder why she's putting what's left of her once gigantic fanbase through all this bulshit. I will neither understand nor support her newly found Keeping Up With The Cardashian's attitude. Where's the great music? Mariah's has become a walking pair of gigantic boobs, and it is sad. She used to be so cool.

Re: Oh here the rumors come for the kids (68,068) (68,087) by Marissa from USA
As disgusting as it might be, the press has no moral obligation to protect Mariah's kids. It is Mariah's responsibility to think about how her actions affect her children and if she wasn't cheapening herself for press, none of this would even be happening. Her kids are suprisingly not talked about much at all compared to most celebrity kids until now. One day Mariah/people will understand that she can't act ridiculously and believe that her kids will come out eternally unscathed.
