But if they planted these stories, they should know they are playing with fire. Little rumors like "Mariah will only walk on a carpet of rose petals" or "Mariah flies her dog first class" are fine. It keeps her diva image up (which I still think does her no favors but whatever). However when they bring in the name of another big name celeb, especially someone as big as Beyonce, things get complicated. It also adds fuel to the "Mariah can't stand other big name female artists". Honestly Maiah needs a professional manager and a separate PR expert. Not someone who is a C grade producer now experimenting with managing and representing an international icon. (Saturday 27 August 2016; 11:19)

Meet and greet (65,648) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Did any of you attend the show? Is it true that Mariah cancelled the meet and greet? Apparently the show was 15 minutes late because they were announcing the cancellation to the VIP ticket buyers. That would be great if that was the case but I don't want to get my hopes up as of yet. The silence is yet another manifestation of the incompetence of her social media management. How are you back in Vegas and there's zero talk about it on your social media? I didn't even know the exact day she was coming back until I came here and saw people talking about opening night. FYI she had bronchitis during that time if I'm not mistaken so if she truly was pitchy she's excused after all she's "just human". Article: Mariah Carey brings spotlight to the Colosseum (65,640) by Betty from Canada I just got back from my trip to Vegas to see her on opening night August 24th with a We Belong Together VIP package that includes the meet & greet photos. Unfortunately for me and all the other lambs there that night, she did the show but she cancelled the meet & greet. I was so disappointed because they told us it was a scheduling conflict and that we would get a partial refund. I don't buy that story because she shed some tears during I Don't Wanna Cry and One Sweet Day. I wonder what really happened. Why did she do the show but not want to meet her lambs afterwards? You attempted to dissect yet you haven't actually said anything technical in your post to make you more than a casual listener (as you named it). If you honestly think that Mariah is still capable of the melisma of 1990 Mariah outside the studio, I really truly don't think you've been watching any of her live performances from this decade. You really shouldn't create this artificial standard that she herself is still trying to recreate. She is human and her voice changes just like any other human beings. I hope she gets better in the following shows and end it with a bang rather than a whimper. Meanwhile, on a completely unrelated note Britney Spears just released her best album in years while Carly Rae Jepsen dropped an EP of outtakes from last year's widely critically acclaimed E-mo-tion LP, which pretty much means I'm gonna revel in pop nirvana that will tide me over until the next few months, or hopefully long enough until we hear new material from Mariah. He already designed for Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, JLo, Taylor Swift to name a few. So I made another edit from his, this and this. It's kind of ironic that the Daydream era was her most technical live singing wise (minus the runs in the butterfly era), but the Daydream cd was one of her most easy cd vocally wise. Probably the only two that would have been easier to record was Memories, and Charmbraclet. Anyway the point is she should record a solid album with simple lyrics, clear and catchy hooks and in a key that she can perform live, and that would allow her to pull a Daydream live moment and out sing or sound better than her recordings. Mariah's voice (65,624) by Terna from Nigeria When I read some comments on Mariah here especially about her singing and voice, I sometimes chuckle because if you understand music, you'll know that most commenters here really just are casual listeners. Have you ever even tried as a Mariah Carey fan to delve deeper into the technical aspects of music and voice? I know I sure did. You'll be surprised how many things about her music, her technique and her tone on certain songs suddenly make sense for example. Ok guys. Let me try and disect her voice, really break it down for you to see exactly why this woman's voice is outstanding. Randy once called it the holy trinity. Tone, talent and technique. Mariah possesses all three in droves. Her tone is like no other, instantly recognizable and very pleasant to the ear. This places her in a special category of singers you never really get tired of listening to. The talent as you already know is there it's what enables her to sing on key, without being pitchy, and sing the same song a million different ways. Technique wise Mariah's voice is at the peak a voice can be trained, all registers are accessible to her and her Vocal bridges smoothened out thus her ability to transition easily (DFAU that sustain starts in chest voice and ends up somehow splitting into superhead voice, while still belting in chest voice) and inhuman vocal range. Just even the sounds she makes and the ease at which she sings, her agility (she has the ability to sing fast) alone sets her a bar above the rest. All these attributes combined with superhuman stamina, resonance and forte (volume), make her a singers' singer - the standard. Thus the ever so popular phrase "you're the next Mariah Carey". Mariah Carey even on her "worstest" (yea I know this isn't a word) day cannot be found singing "off key". That woman sings with perfect pitch. Have several seats with that claim.
