Re: MC and JD on Twitter (56,953) (56,959) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Bill, you say that like it's a bad thing. The true art of shade requires a lot of quick wit, class and intelligence. Being rude and crass is not being shady. That's just being rude and crass. Anybody can be a bitch. But it takes skill to be as ice cold as Mariah can be without detection by the casual observer. Also, being a genuinely sweet person as Mariah actually is doesn't mean she can't be petty or give as good as she gets. She's human, things people say and do to her get to her just like they get to anyone else and sometimes it comes out whether she likes it or not. She's a real person and I don't expect her to be perfect all the time, or anytime really. There are worse character flaws one could cultivate than occasional shadiness. At least she has a sense of humour about it. Some people could stand to be a little less uptight about things. It's so funny to me how people don't take Mariah seriously when it actually matters the most to her and then turn right around and give her hell when she's clearly joking. Come on.

Re: Mimi L / Mariah and Madonna (56,957) (56,958) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Sorry about the typos in that last post. I should have proofread that a lot more carefully. Yikes. Lol. What I was trying to say was that I've always felt the comment made by Madonna back in the day was not actually about a grudge against Mariah but more about something her dad had said. I also agree with Bill in terms of what Mariah has said about Madonna. MC still struggles to this day about how people take whatever she says. That's part of why she's so guarded IMO. In 1995 Madonna had just come off her album "Bedtime Stories" which wasn't widely embraced by the public unless you were a fan. It had 3 radio singles "Secret", "Human Nature" and "Take A Bow" as well as a more obscure remix single "Bedtime Stores". But the album itself wasn't considered popular at the time for sure lol.

Re: Mimi L / Mariah and Madonna (56,950) (56,957) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I have followed Madonna for years (not the way I have Mariah) Let's put it this way, I'm not on a Madonna board everyday lol but I do love her music, and she has had some incredible tours. I consider her a performance artist. I adore Mariah. She's my favorite vocalist. I love music obsessively so I love a lot of artists. I do remember Madonna saying some things early on, but you have to remember, Madonna can be extremely rebellious. Her dad was a big Mariah fan according to an interview she did. And she made a point of rebelling against anything her father liked. Lol. Today she's very close with her dad, and has talked very openly about how mean she was to him at one point and how she had a lot of growing up to do. In that sense I do feel the comment she made was taken out of context, because it was not even really about Mariah, but her early days. Being percieved as tough or "bitchy" is most often a protection device IMHO it doesn't make sense to hold people accountable for things that happened years ago. I don't expect Mariah and Madonna to become besties by any stretch, I just don't about taking a jab at her father. People evolve and change. Madonna is a lot more open an accepting of others then she was in think their personalities really mesh, but it doesn't mean they hate each other. In the video you posted today, MC was talking about Madonna when she said she wanted to be known as Mariah but someone else was already using one name. She even went on to say she didn't want to name the artist because people would assume she was trying to be mean, but that wasn't her intention. People just tend to glom on to drama or feuds or whatever.

Mimi L., just wanted to say that even though I don't post much anymore, I do really enjoy your posts because to me you're a great fan. Thanks for putting "The Expert" from the LaLa Land in her place. She's become a bully, and the sad thing is that many people here agree with her ways. Several nice fans don't post here because of her ways, but anyway, that's what bullying is all about, isn't it? I can't stand a bully or people who go on the thesaurus, copy a few words and then put up a couple of sentences thinking they are coming off as intelligent. This is the second time you've put her in her place, you've done it gracefully. There's nothing like crushing a bully with simple words. I've always thought she's just a grumpy old woman sitting on a rocking chair with nothing better to do than praise herself and push her opinion as law.

Article: Startup execs were more of a "diva" than Mariah at shoot (56,954) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
This whole article is gold. Especially the part where Alan Taylor says that Mariah is a "Game of Thrones" fan. That will never be not-funny. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. I hope that during Mariah's next talkshow couch session we get to hear some of the BTS stories from this Game of War shoot. I'm sure it's all epicly hilarious.

Baby, I often enjoy your posts but I do think you have talked yourself into believing Mariah is the queen of shade. She can't mention any celebrity now without it being dressed up as "shade" (I hate that term). From what I (and most of us) see, Mariah is a kind, funny, care free, genuine and pleasant soul. The only time she's ever really dissed someone was her Madonna comment back in the 90s ("when she used to be popular") but even that was probably unintentional. Even her J Lo "I don't know her" comment was a genuine comment saying that they had never met, and she of course didn't want to discuss her.

So, 5 hours after MC's tweet Jermaine basically copied her message: "It's like that y'all." And not an hour ago Mariah tweeted this: "Winter vibes in Aspen" with this picture. There's a Klingon proverb that goes: "Revenge is a dish best served cold." I love MiMi so much for this. Hahahaha.

Vegas program book help (56,951) by Billy from Greece
Hi guys. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me with the following: around the beginning of MC's Vegas residency, one of the fansites or fan panges on Facebook shared scanned images of the Vegas program (which also included a small essay of sorts, saying - not word for word - that Mariah was one of the first female performers of her generation to seek full control over her career - something along these lines). Could someone direct me to the scanned images in case this rings a bell? I just can't seem to track them down right now. Thank you in advance.

Re: Mimi L / Mariah and Madonna (56,944) (56,950) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah and Madonna are both legends in their own rights. They both did a lot that changed the music industry for the good. Now I'll be honest, I don't know much about Madonna's music but facts are facts, she is a legend and she has also inspired a lot of artists just like Mariah did. I honestly feel that the feud in 1995 would not have happened if at that moment the reporter didn't bring up that Madonna quote during a public conference. I think Mariah went into defense mode and defended herself (understandably). The Madonna quote still remains unconfirmed, I think that it was mentioned that it was taken out of context or something (I honestly cannot remember). But I think they have both come to the level of maturity where they both can appreciate each other and know there is space for both of them in this industry. Obviously I don't expect to see them tweeting out selfies together anytime soon, but I think those feud days are behind them. I understand what you mean when you say some lambs are attacked for liking other artists, and it shouldn't be that way. Liking Madonna doesn't make anyone any less of a lamb than the others. I am a fan of good music, and I will listen to whoever provides me with it, but yes Mariah and MJ will always be my favorites.

Re: Mariah and JD (56,941) (56,949) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Thank you so much for that post Deedre, I actually could not have written it better than you did. That is exactly what I was trying to say. It annoys me when people read too much into things. Some things should just be taken at face value. I mean Jermaine also posted the same image and tagged Mariah so now are we set for a twitter feud? I think not, I think they are reaching out to each other again (this is just an opinion). As for what you said about friends, I could not agree more. Friends give it to you straight if you are a genuine friend. If they sugarcoat things it's fake. I always tell it like it is when my friends ask me for advice and that's why they know they can trust my opinion and advice. Anyways, thank you again for your post.

Re: That face no flaw (56,937) (56,947) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Aaww B thank you. I think you are so right, there has to be someone from her team, if not Mariah herself, on this board. I am not saying she is taking fashion advice from me haha, but I think MCA and the Mariah thread on UKMix are 2 of her most regularly updated message boards and someone from her team definitely keep an eye here to see what the fans want musically and so on. Although I will say I shrieked when one day I said "hoping for a leather jacket moment next" and the very next day (or same day depending on time difference), she wore a leather jacket.

Regina George in a lamb's clothing (56,946) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
*sips tea* Do you also get off on calling people idiots? LA has to be invited because he is her freaking boss, her label boss. That invitation was by default. I didn't see her mother there as well. Neither was her current beau, so um what gives? I am sure you are an "expert" and "genius" since you keep saying so on a regular basis. Keep painting Mariah as the "Shade Queen". Reducing her to something petty. I can't believe you would actually think Mariah would stoop low to actually tag Jermaine and insult him. Haha. What isn't a good look is how rude you are darling on a regular basis. Calling people names every time they say something that doesn't go your way. So tell me all about that expertise again. *plugs ears with cotton balls, putting on Cavalli shades*

Mimi L / Mariah and Madonna (56,944) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Mariah is my fave singer of all time. I consider myself a "Lamb" and have since I was a child. And I also love Madonna. Totally different artists, totally different ways of expressing themselves. You can't even compare them except the fact that they work in the same industry. I appreciate what you posted because for years I have known whatever tension there was there has been gone for a long time. I don't think fans should be made to feel as if they are being disloyal to Mariah for enjoying other artists too. Speaking for myself, it doesn't mean I love Mariah any less.

Re: Mariah and JD (56,924) (56,941) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I agree Mimi L. I also feel JD is a genuine friend. Friendships can go through ebbs and flows, and being a friend does not always mean telling someone what they want to hear. A true friend can say things that are honest and maybe heard to hear, but the friendship isn't threatened. I'll just say I didn't feel any shade there, or any undertoned threat about future projects together. If anything I felt the exact opposite about the tweet. Isn't it interesting how the same exact thing can be interpreted different ways? I find the public in general read too much into what gets posted on social media. Not everything Mariah posts has hidden meaning, is manipulative or has some kind of nasty message behind it. Mariah is a very genuine person, she's just become more guarded and cautious.

Re: MC and JD (56,933) (56,939) by B from USA
I remember the interview. She did seem sincere. She's threw epic shade at Madonna so many times it's hard to know if she was sincere or not honestly. Madonna started it and Mariah didn't back down. This parting is for the best. Mariah needs a producer who will challenge her and who's advice she will listen to. Someone she hasn't worked with before. I think Happy Perez, Frank Ocean, and Miguel need to work exclusively with her on her next album like she did with Tricky and The Dream. A modern R&B album with edge. I love Miguel's Coffee song.

Re: MC and JD on Twitter (56,928) (56,936) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I'm excellent at reading situations and behaviour, I do it on the daily in my own life. That's a talent of mine, not everybody has that. People in general fascinate me and being a Lamb I've honed in on Mariah's ticks, quirks and idiosyncrasies over the years. Really, it's like reading the lyrics to her songs. Some of them are pretty generic and nondescript while others are extremely personal and specific. Only a real Lamb would know the difference so I understand the confusion some of you struggle with who will never get it. Instead you will grab onto frivolous, baseless gossip that makes no sense coming from a supposed fan. Like when some idiots were going around saying how Mariah told French fans in a van she was unhappy at Sony and with LA Reid when she was in Paris recently. Complete fabrications and I already debunked that ridiculous claim and even if I hadn't, who later spoke at Mariah's Hollywood Walk Of Fame star ceremony? LA Reid, that's who. I didn't see Jermaine Dupri anywhere, why wasn't he there giving a speech or even in the audience? He's been around significantly longer than anyone of her major collaborators except Brett Ratner and yet he was ghost. It couldn't possibly be that he went out of his way to disrespect her work ethic, musical legacy, success and intelligence on more than one occasion unprovoked, could it? I'm amazed at having to spell it out for people, fans or not, who should already be in the know as often as they frequent and post on a Mariah Carey message board. I mean, are you being deliberately obtuse? That then begs the question, why? Either way, it ain't a good look sis.

Glad they realized how disrespectful to Mariah and her fans The Mariah Store was. All I want for Christmas is the #1 To Infinity concert book. I saw the moving billboards promoting the residency and the first teaser for the Infinity video being played everywhere. I wish they had included it in the video.

That face no flaw (56,934) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Here is a new picture of Mariah when she went to see Aladdin. I am usually not a fan of this color (the jacket) but it looks gorgeous on her. She looks so beautiful and is glowing. Her skin is flawless. I love jackets on Mariah. She wore a lot of them during E=MC2 era (from pink and yellow to golden and silver) and she wore some earlier this year.

Re: MC and JD (56,932) (56,933) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This is what she said about Madonna: "Madonna is a trailblazer, she helped the music industry in so many ways." You can hear it at 3.57 onward in this clip. I might be mistaken but she did praise Madonna in another interview but I can't remember which (or like I said I might be wrong) but at least in this voice clip you see her say it and she was genuine about it. This was from the MIAM era last year.

MC and JD (56,931) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
To anyone thinking that Mariah shaded JD with that tweet or made a jab at him, it definitely does not come off that way. It was JD's birthday yesterday and that might just have been her way of wishing him or it could have just been Mariah reminiscing some of her old work (like she has been doing a lot lately by posting old lyrics and photos) and we all know how much she loves ILT and SIO. Secondly Mariah would never tag Jermaine in all her social media profiles with that picture if her intention was to shade him. She'd just post it and write a cryptic status (or none) that would imply the shade. People need to stop thinking that everything that comes out of her mouth is a "diss/shade". But since some lambs continue to do it, it makes Mariah come across as a mean person. The woman can basically yell "I love you" to someone and yet these lambs will say "did you hear the tone she used, there was definitely some shade in it" and then bring on the "queen of shade" hashtag. Just accept it that she has grown up and if she can now embrace people that she was once rumored to have feuds with (like her recently praising Madonna and acknowledging the Nicki fight was the fault of the producers not the 2 women) then she can definitely look past what one of her closest friends said in an interview (which I still detect nothing vicious, but may have been misunderstood). Her own label boss made quite a negative statement about her, but she is still there right? She is not an immature kid.
