DJ Snufalufagus? Why does he sound like something you would want to snuggle with? Like a teddy bear? "I want to be you, Snufalufagus. Wrap me up nice and tight. Hold me all through the night."

Essence Fest (63,999)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

According to Mariah Network, Mariah and her band are rehearsing "Make It Happen". I think I will lose my chill. I have been wanting this so much. I can't believe she is including it, that song is everything. It will translate so well into the live audience. So uplifting. Also guys this is a huge platform for Mariah, and all eyes will be on her. People will try to rip her apart the first time something goes wrong. I encourage the lambs to stand beside Mariah and avoid posting comments about possible lip syncing and other problems especially under articles and in forums and message boards. A lot of times the articles go through popular Mariah fan boards to collect info. So please let's support her this time. It's a big opportunity. We can maybe discuss the problems at a later date but not right away. This assuming there will be problems. Just a suggestion. With her current voice and confidence Mariah will be on fire I am sure. I hope she gets up there and gives it her all. Best of luck Mariah, just hold on to your faith and you will do great.

So someone tweeted that Mariah's current DJ says to "Shake it off" will be on the setlist. Someone else tweeted "Make it happen" is also on the list. The focus on a DJ and not the band means there's gonna be some tracks involved. Surprise. I honestly believe she will be received very well though.

Eh, they've been saying #19 ever since Bye Bye, which is actually fitting, because at this rate, any dreams of getting the 19th will have go "bye bye".

Lol well the general public might be cool, and happy she shows up for the event. I think she's gonna bring it, make the band work hard. If she has only 20 to 30 minutes she can dazzle the crowd with lights and glitter. But seriously she must have something planned and ready to go. This is not a Vegas moment but Vision Of Love, WBT, TMB and Emotions might get it done. Prayers up.

If she does not bring it, they will boo and disown her. The black community in a whole thinks she's crazy lol. They really do, seems like they prefer Whitney first. This is her chance to give her all to 59,000 people.

2006 Grammy hair (63,993)
by Giovanni from USA

I would love if Mariah went back to her long and wavy look. The way she had it at the Grammys in 2006. Especially the color. Mariah should ditch the blonde color and go back to her brunette color. She looks so much more better and younger.

Jermaine Dupree (63,992)
by Giovanni from USA

I think it's perfectly fine for Mariah to work with Jermaine on a couple of tracks for her next album. He brings out the best in her musically and vocally. "Make it look good" and "The art of letting go" are two of the best songs she's recorded since "The Emancipation Of Mimi". "Make it look good" could have easily been a number one with a good video followed by promotion. Mariah's voice sounds so gorgeous in that song. I'm glad they're still friends and hopefully can make more magic together. If you can, buy at least two copies of the album. Mariah is counting on us to support her. We can't let her down this time.

Yes somebody needs to tell Mariah to cover up. Nobody wants to see a near 50 year old woman in her bra. It's not classy at all. I sometimes wonder what 1990 Mariah would think of the current Mariah? Will she ever give up the sexiness?

The bra era (63,987)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

It seems like after the glove era, we are now in the bra era. Everywhere Mariah goes, she is being spotted with her bra out. Trips to Nobu, bra out. Sitting in her glam room, bra out. Attending a 10 year old's (Stella' younger daughter) birthday party, bra out. Recording in a studio with JD, bra out. I just can't.

I hope she does have fun. I'm on my tablet and can't attach the link, but I found an amazing Charlie Wilson performance of Outstanding from 2013 on Jools Holland Hootanany on the BBC. This song is over 30 years old and still jams. Even this crowd was feeling the funk. Please check it on YouTube. I hope Mariah has fun and slays the crowd because she will have to follow this.

She should come out with a killer version of Emotions with that amazing intro that she has been doing and just blow them away. Maybe Fantasy, VOL if she can deliver it like her recent Vegas shows that would be amazing. It would be nice if she added a jazz song. "My All" the way she has been doing it. Would love if she did a duet with Maxwell. Oh my, I know they are on different nights but that would be something that would have people talking right now. Maxwell's new album comes out tomorrow and his song "Lake By The Ocean" is doing really well. I just hope she can go out there with confidence and if she does that, her singing will come with it. I know she gets nervous with crowds that are not at one of her shows but she can pull it off. Even if she does something piano and in alto like TGIFY, those low notes she hits are just as impressive as the high. Her range is amazing and I just hope she has fun with it.

Stella's post (63,983)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Stella wrote on her instagram "18 #1s about to be 19". That's quite a bold statement coming from an artist's manager. I guess it's nice she thinks so (and let this also be a reminder to all those who say Mariah doesn't care about #1s, because you can all bet your fine backsides that she sure does). Anyways nice as it is, I would rather Stella not post such big claims. The fans will label the song her 19th #1, as soon as we so much as hear the title. But that just hypes up a song and then it all crashes down. I'd rather they focus on the promo and getting everything out on time and get the appearances booked. This will be a big test for Stella too because she will be eaten alive if the album flops, like all of the other managers. The last single we got on her watch was "Infinity" and while I place the blame on LA and Mariah for that below average effort at a comeback single, I hope Stella doesn't go "yas queen" on anything Mariah spits out because Stella has zero music knowledge.

I agree. MILG was (is) one of my favorite songs from MIAM. However, I don't think their collaborations should be singles. Mariah needs to work with new up and coming producers for her singles like Happy Perez, who produced the strongest single she's released in years.

Maybe, but I think she would include "Don't forget about us" and "Touch my body". People know and love those, especially at a r&b heavy event.

I agree. Yes she should work with other people, but her and JD together is a match made in heaven imo (just like how some of you feel about her and Walter). I need at least one or two JD songs. He did help give us the most awesome song ever: ABMB.

"Fantasy", "Shake it off", "Fantasy", "One sweet day", "When you believe", "We Belong together", "Thank God I found you", "Always be my baby", "Emotions", "Vision of love". She's gonna stick to the originals, this crowd can be ruthless. Mimi is not playing games tomorrow night.

I love how she says "very late, very late" here. Video of her recording something but being the tease that she is, there is no audio, either they are basically doing voice overs for The Rap Game or Mariah doesn't want anyone to hear the song until she releases it. I hope it's the latter. Haha what is going on in here? MC looking like 1999 meets 2005 Mariah.
