May / rappers and drugs (63,267) by Licia from USA May, about that whole Mariah getting high situation, you may not be aware of this but not all rappers smoke weed, do other drugs, or drink (shocking I know). You'd be surprised at how many just rap about all that, but they have never or don't live that lifestyle. Mariah has probably been getting high and drinking since before she met all these rappers. The fact of the matter is that I don't agree with alot of what she's doing, but she's allowed to have fun. I wish some moments of her fun would not be put out there to give the whole world another reason to call her a drunken skank (that's just one of the fun names I've seen ), but it's her image not mine so I'm not going to lose sleep over it. She knows that they are uploading these videos and she seems to be ok with it because it continuously happens. There's nothing the most devoted fan could say to me to make me believe she doesn't know about them and approve of them. The one thing I care about is how this may affect her children in the long run. These videos will not disappear. All that I can say about JP is that if he's not happy with what she's doing then he needs to speak up. Her behavior won't change once they get married. We really don't know whether he's said something and she just won't listen or he's ok with it. Either way I hope this works out for them both. (Sunday 12 June 2016; 4:49)

Conspiracy? (63,263) by Natalia from Italy I know that just the mention of a conspiracy at this message board will bring lots of but please, just hear me out. What if, again, in all caps, what if, there is a conspiracy to ruin "Mariah Carey's" reputation as we have all grown to know her by. The first thing that was very odd to me was when she signed back with Sony. That was very strange to me. Then after that was when Stella was assigned as her handler/manager. Then the sexy social media pictures, now videos that show her in, not the best light. What is the deal here? I find it all quite disturbing, and it just does not feel right to me. Something weird is going on, whatever it is. Conspiracy or not. It almost feel like a smear campaign trying to ruin her reputation. In the past she was a very private person. She even said herself that she didn't feel comfortable talking about her private relationships until she was married to that person. Now she is all over social media like a young out of control teenage girl. If this is all her idea and she is agreeing to go along with it, then hell, maybe this is a midlife crisis after all. Marian's state of mind (63,260) by RibbonB from USA Wow, just looking at past stories for this date in history section and the one dated June 12, 2015 is really interesting. Not that a psychiatrist can diagnose anyone based solely off of lyrics and videos, but her ideas are interesting. If Mariah is experiencing a manic state at this time in her life it could explain some of her recent behavior. It feels that there's no such thing as privacy anymore and even when there is trouble in the street rather than call the police they take the phone and start recording. I agree with Mini L. that these vids should probably be kept private but from what the messages says it wasn't Bryan who shared this but the other guy, can't say what Bryan has beeb sharing about Mariah, his Instagram seems ok then again I don't use Snapchat from where the vids were taken so I maybe he does share there more stuff I'm not awared. Nonetheless the vids are there now, don't think people will make much fuzz, if it wasn't for this amazing community, I wouldn't even have known about them. (Sunday 12 June 2016; 2:45)

Mariah did a silly interview with Sussone promoting this new leg of the Vegas show and he kept thanking Mariah and Stella for having him in the latest "movie" they called it. I call it a stunt. Then they talked about her making him fried chicken. The funny thing is she didn't want Sussone to refer to their open secret nicknames, mulatto prince and princess because it might be misinterpreted, but she doesn't care if people misinterpret what she might be doing with two guys and brown liquor. I think they like stirring up chatter, both good and bad. It's just more of the same, but unfortunate when it's so simple to be discreet, if not appropriate. (Sunday 12 June 2016; 2:20)

What shocks me is she is allowing these to be sent out to the public when she is engaged and has 2 kids. Why does Bryan snapchat these and why is he allowed? Licia / Selena (63,251) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada Hi Licia. Yes Selena has had a profound impact on me. I'm not sure I'd be able to put it in words for you to be honest. It really goes even beyond her gift as a singer, dancer and performer. It's the person behind all of that. The most genuinely kind, humble, genuine soul, who literally remained unaware of her stardom. People would tell her that her talents belonged in the company of artists like Gloria Estefan, Janet, Whitney and Mariah etc, and she would literally say "No, I'm not that, I'm just like everybody else." I would highly recommend watching the documentary "Selena Remembered". It's narrated by Edward James Olmos and a really lovely look at her career and in general that there is nothing about her that isn't 100% genuine. As for songs I would definitely recommend "No Me Queda Mas". It is considered a classic now. Her signature song is "Como La Flor" ("Like the flower") known around the world it's featured pretty heavily in the movie so, you'll probably recognize it. There is so much of her music that I love. There's a cumbia called Besitos that is really fun. It's more obscure as it's an earlier song. I love her attitude in a song called Que Creias. She has a routine she does with this song live where she brings a guy on stage for the song to "tell him off". Lol. The power of her emotional delivery in a song called Buenos Amigos ("Good Friends") demonstrates how much she could emote through a vocal. She has this way of making possible for you to feel the songs. it's really something you either have or you don't. She had it in spades. She does an awesome cover of "A Boy Like That" from West Side Story. She recorded 3 songs for a cameo appearance in the film "Don Juan Demarco" staring Johnny Depp. They didn't wind up using all the songs, but they are more that traditional mariachi flavor. She only had a certain set time to record the vocals and was so upset that she had a cold the day they went into the studio. But when you listen to the tracks she just nails them, you can't even tell. Lol. The songs are called "El Toro Relajo" (this one is in the movie). Selena appears as a singer. "Tu Solo Tu" and "Siempre Hace Frio". There's a song on her dreaming of you album called "Baila Conmigo" that I always crank loud lol. Many fans love her Spanish version of The Pretenders song "Back on the Chain Gang" (Fotos y Recuerdos). On one of her earlier albums she has a song called "Ven Conmigo". I really like it because it shows how much the music in the band evolved and how they were always fusing traditional cultural sound but making it more modern and access accessible. Songs like "I Could Fall In Love Donde Quiera Que Estas" show her diversity. The roots of her career in Tejano music, but she had such a wide range of what she was capable of singing. Other fan faves aside from what you already know are "No Debes Jugar Amor Prohibido and El Chico Del Apartamento 512. History Channel also has a nice documentary too. (Sunday 12 June 2016; 0:29)

She has always been surrounded by rappers and she even has lyrics which speak about it, including that one line with the mix of alcohol and cough syrup, like if she did't try why bother write it down. I'm fine if she smoked pot recreationaly, it's truly not a big deal and she is an adult. Now if it's often one could wonder how it might affect her voice but honestly the same could be asked about the alcohol. My issue is why nowadays people can never have fun without pulling a camera out and putting it on the internet. I've never thought Mariah one to get high like that, but on certain occasions her behind the scene clips show her in that type of light. I could be wrong, but coming from someone that has used different "stuff" to get high, in my past, I noticed certain attributes. I guess it's her business if she does or not, but that can't be good for her voice. There are many Mariah moments just playing around and acting diva-ish, and there are moments like these. Notice she's oddly different after the 30 second mark. I'm not sure it's "mary" that she's on. And they're moments like these that "mary" was most likely in play. Her then back-up dancer definitely look high at the 3 minute mark. I'm not here bashing, just making an observation. I hope that I'm wrong though. (Saturday 11 June 2016; 18:45)
