Sure, Mariah's had her share of forgettable #1s (IDWC, TGIFY, DFAU) but the fact that the public can still remember at least 10 of them speaks volumes (VOL, Emotions, IBT, Dreamlover, Hero, Fantasy, ABMB, My All, WBT, TMB). It's a shame that When We Were Young wasn't that successful. But that was the wrong choice for a second single. She should have gone with Send My Love (To Your New Lover). Beyonce (60,956) by B from USA I'm starting to think the rumors about the duet with Beyonce are true. I think their collaboration will be the album's lead single or second since she already released Formation. I hope it's a great song but Beyonce hasn't released a great song in years. Hopefully, Mariah was involved in the writing and production. If there is one thing Ms. Carey is good at it's writing and producing. I almost forgot to mention arranging. Slay Mariah, slay. She needs to take advantage of the media frenzy surrounding her docuseries, engagement, and tour and release a stellar new single or EP. If she doesn't Stella isn't doing her job. Mariah Carey isn't a reality star, she's the last of the divas. She needs to focus on her day job instead of indulging Stella's delusions of grandeur. Mariah Carey is The Voice and she needs to remind people why she is where she is today. I would love an updated Butterfly. I really hope she records new material ASAP and maybe we can see that process during the E show. She literally sounds amazing right now and I can see the second coming of Butterfly or better. I understand she could tie or break Mariah's record but her songs are forgettable and will not be remembered years from now let alone decades from now.
