Re: Reality show (60,397) (60,410) by May from Denmark
I do enjoy watching her behind the scenes because it is also part of her job, it's all the job we don't get to see every time she presents herself on stage. Pretty sure they will show mostly the fun aspects of it but perhaps to keep people on the edge they might do before a "drama before commercials", maybe Mariah wardrobe breaking last second or seeing how she inadvertently leaves the stage for a moment to go backstage to get fix her mic or something and how she deals with it. I don't ever believe it is just "standing and singing", we never have been really shown her dress changing processes and such like Celine Dion in one of her specials, I thought it was interesting to see all the work being done out of the stage. I know what you mean with the track list acoustics sessions, it is always nice to see that. Something like this you mean? It is really nice seeing her working in the studio. But the thing is that, even if she was prepping a new album, they can't show that aspect in the "reality-docu-whatever is going to be" because that would be giving the songs away. Hopefully they will manage a way to still make it fun, interesting and depicting the work of the singer and not just some childish ala Kardashian over the top drama for a broken nail.

Re: Morgan (60,398) (60,409) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
DailyMail already has 1200 comments on this unfortunate Morgan situation. Mariah is being well represented in the comments section. About 95% of the comments don't think Mariah should help her siblings at all. People are reasoning well.

Someone said here that Butterfly was the best thing that happened to earth. I totally agree. Plus, my love for "The Roof" is endless and unlimited. Almost 20 years later I still discover new details in it and this is fantastic. I love you, Mariah.

Re: Morgan (60,398) (60,407) by Will from England
Yeah, I just read the article on the Daily Mail. And I'll admit, it's nice to see that the public have Mariah's back on this on not taking what is written at face value.

A bitchy man is never cute (60,406) by Edward from USA
If Shaw really tweeted: "It's not a rivalry if one artist has several albums that, individually, have sold more than the other artist's entire collection. Tea." And "I still don't know her", more than hilarious, it sounds as if it came from very bitchy person, trying to hit below the belt making comments about something that is not relevant to whether Mariah knows Jennifer or not. Mariah has gone through her career and her numbers have spoken for her time and time again, she doesn't need a clown to make her look like the people who are closed to her are bitchy and somewhat uneducated. I've always thought Mariah kept her class by not reacting on any of Wendy's comments, that's how you do it. If Shawn really tweeted those things, he should be working with Wendy Williams, I don't see the difference. Mariah has thrown shade, yes, but she's always been classy in her approach. I've never seen her brag about the millions she's sold or her success, I'm pretty sure the whole world knows that. And by him tweeting those things it is clear that Mariah really doesn't have anything to do with Jennifer, which is her right, but that was for her to say. I don't think this is the time for a catfight between Mariah and Jennifer, I think those 90's days are long gone.

Docu-series not reality (60,405) by Nikki from usa
I'm no fan of reality shows and it's never sounded like Mariah is either. However, a documentary and a reality show are complete opposites. This seems to be one of those things where the media sticks to what it's used to talking about. Like when they kept calling "Glitter" a "biography" no matter how many times MC put it on blast that it wasn't about her life. The media is used to reality shows, but from what's been said this isn't one of those. Mariah's done behind the scenes before from one hour specials to simple extras from DVD's usually of tours. All artists have. This would be the first time someone's actually turned it into a series though. Following MC's schedule behind the scenes in Vegas and throughout her tour in Europe along with all the things that pop up organically on the regular as last minute obstacles could be really unique and insightful. However, if Stella turns this into another Being Bobby Brown or Britney Spears' Chaotic than I'll have to pass.

More Morgan drama (60,404) by Ardis Logic from Earth
This is really sad. It's hard to know what is really true here. We have no idea what Mariah's side of the story is. All I know is that if I was as rich as Mariah, and my sister was dying, I would do everything I could to help her, and my sister and I are not even close at all. I'm sure Wendy Williams will be all over this one come Monday morning.

Stevie J (60,403) by B from USA
Why are people saying he produced and wrote Honey and Breakdown. The lyrics were written by Mariah except the interpolated lyrics she sampled. Yes, he was involved but not to the degree he and media outlets claim. I also don't believe he slept with our girl. She was with Derek Jeter at that time.

Re: New and fresh era (60,401) (60,402) by Musti from UK
Absolutely. These steps are necessary if she wants to gain new fans and also put to rest all doubts that she can no longer be relevant. Look I don't mind if she wants to become the modern-day Barbra Streisand and record the same thing with different lyrics over and over again. I'd still buy it in multiple copies and still print L4L on my forehead. No one judges Babra for doing exactly that and, to be frank, Mariah has already reached that legendary status where she can do the same. Perhaps her only disadvantage at this stage is having to fix her tarnished reputation so she can ensure future sales, like Barbra. It's ridiculous how Barbra can still score #1 albums by simply recycling herself. But I'd also love it if Mariah were to top the charts again, multiple times. The public has come to know Mariah for breaking records and anything less than achieving the absolute best result seems to work to her disadvantage. It's unfair. I really hope we have a well-planned comeback in the works. It's time.

New and fresh era (60,401) by Malcolm from Asia
I agree that she needs new producers. If we will think, Mariah doesn't have an album this century that cross over her in modern music landscape. (I love MIAM but if she is in good state that time and promotes, it could have been successful.) Many people still thinks that Mariah was from 2000's era and doesn't belong to the present pop music circle. Besides of hiring new producers that will cater her in the present generation, Mariah must promotes like crazy like what B said when her album comes. Have a Carpool Karaoke 2.0 (more in the singing lessen the divaness and stuff), play a game in Jimmy Fallon and Ellen, perform a mini concert in Jimmy Kimmel (preferable at night like what she did in E=MC2 era), be a musical guest and host in SNL and have skits like what she did on The Friday Night Project. (She's so fabulous and hilarious there, this is the episode, part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5. Enjoy. ) And this "docu-series" will be great if it will be excellently made and the public can finally relate to her, so let's just wait and see.

Please tell me that picture is just a random shot and not a promo shot for "Mariah's Squad". The kids are just everywhere. I even saw a video of Mariah leaving the party honoring Brett Ratner and lo and behold Mishka is right there next to Mariah.

Mariah's nephew (60,399) by Jenny from South Africa
Shawn tweeted about the Mariah/J. Lo feud. It was hilarious. "It's not a rivalry if one artist has several albums that, individually, have sold more than the other artist's entire collection. Tea." He also tweeted the new MC quote "I still don't know her". I want to clarify that I do enjoy J. Lo's earlier music but I think it's sweet the way Shawn always has Mariah's back. Especially since I've just read an article where her brother is allegedly calling her a witch.

Morgan (60,398) by Lee TS from USA
Is coming out slamming Mariah. He called her a witch for not helping Alison with her medical needs, supposedly a spinal and brain surgery. Oh dear, the Carey family is a mess. Take note Stella, we need this on the reality show. This is sad.

Reality show (60,397) by Gilles from Malta
This is only my own opinion so please people who are excited about this new project do not jump on me cause of this. Certainly due to my age reality shows do not excite me at all. Regarding Mariah I am not really into her personal life style or weight or wardrobe or even behind the scene. Reality shows for me are, for sure not real at all, but "a made up story". I love Mariah Carey the artist more than her celebrity side. I would love to see her in the studio making an album from A to Z from lyrics until music until finished product. Talking track by track. Not behind the scenes of Vegas but the artist in studio with a live and acapella and acoustic session. Thanks to all the gossip and all the cheap magazines we know how Mariah can be funny, people who think that MC is not funny they have never watched the Touch My Body video clip or Boy I Need You or others. Anyway, we ll see for the moment if it is only speculation. Good day everybody.

Dreams for next album (60,396) by Giovanni from USA
I'm with B, Mariah should definitely work with Frank Ocean and Happy Perez. There's so many talented producers she can work with. Give Big Jim Wright a break. She needs something fresh again. I honestly feel for now all these suggestions are kind of pointless because I think Mariah already has a new album ready. Once she's finished her European tour, bam a new single. I hope she shoots a decent video and promotes like crazy.

Docu-series (60,394) by darrian liu from taiwan
I think it's a great idea as long as team MC knows what the public thinks of Mariah. The public thought Mariah is the classic mean girl. Shady, bitter and self-absorbed. I want the public to see her as a genuine, kind person with a serious side to her. I want her to kinda be perceived as the older Jennifer Lawrence (minus the cussing) because everyone wants J.Law as their best friend. Show everyone that Mariah is a good, funny person and tone down the shade (although I love it when Mariah shades somebody). I want this show to get Mariah back into the general public's good graces, and rebrand her as the classy singer-songwriter-producer that everyone wants to be with (like Adele).

Re: Dreams for next album (60,385) (60,391) by B from USA
Welcome to the dysfunctional family. I disagree. I think half of the album should be Frank Ocean and Miguel midtempos, Bruno Mars ballads, and The Weeknd R&B-pop. She needs to write with these artists and their collaborators and producers. Make a brilliant album, forget sexism and ageism because you look half your age and your legendary voice is in form. Frank Ocean like intospective ballads with personal lyrics and Miguel like midtempos that are simple, catchy, and sexy like Coffee and Touch My Body. If she does this she'll score another hit single and album.

Re: How do I feel about this upcoming Mariah reality (60,382) (60,389) by B from USA
After reading the Vanity Fair article about Mariah's show I know thinks it a great idea. She looks and sounds amazing. She's classy and smart and she's marrying a billionaire so I don't think this series will be ratchet like Stella's other shows.

I think it would be awesome if Mariah covered a Beatles song. Like the song "Golden Slumbers". If you have never heard that song, have a listen and imagine Mariah singing this song, it's beautiful.

Reality/doc-u-series (60,386) by Mara from United States
I wasn't sure how to feel at first but I think it may be a good way to let the public in on MC and see she has so much more to offer than what their perception is of her. The serious side of her, the mother, the professional singer and especially songwriter side. The woman who can go in a studio with one song, get creative and create a complete new amazingly hot track. How that process comes to her. Not to mention how many life changes she is going through right now. Being engaged to a billionaire, combining families, co parenting, her children turning 5, her vocal maintenance, wedding preparations. There are so many interesting things in her life. I love that it is on E too, as E has a larger audience. I hope she takes advantage of this opportunity and gets the public interested again and releases new music. I say good job Stella, unless otherwise. I think she meant to privately respond to that gossip site and they publicly released her response. I hope she learns from it but I think she may be starstruck at the same time but does want to bring MC back where she should be.

Dreams for next album (60,385) by Richard Pitts from United States
Hello all, I am new here, although I go back to the "Mariah 4". Fan since the beginning. Anyway, I would like to change the conversation somewhat. I wish to discuss the direction of the next album. I hope that MC stays current with the album but she should have half the album be covers. I want classic album renditions of Lullaby Of Birdland and Don't Explain. My wish is a remake of "Coat of Many Colors" and the theme song from Family Ties, "Without Us". She can and needs to continue to do current music. Creating new songs is what she is the best at and keeps her gathering new fans. Just something to ponder. That's it.
