Opulence vs. extravagance (59,437) by Nikki from usa
It was funny when MC and Nick broke up how Wendy was claiming Mariah was old and no one would want her. Then, she broke the news of her dating Packer and claimed Packer was using her for fame. She said MC was "fragile" and hoped she didn't fall in love because James is a playboy and not interested in the long term. They get engaged and Wendy won't even report it. Mariah's concerts and tours have always been bare-boned. It's always centered around her voice with limited bells and whistles. It would be nice if MC would up her game in the visual areas for a show's entertainment quality, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It took Celine 3 years before critics agreed the show no longer overshadowed her singing. Either you sing live with magnificent vocals or you rely on performance. Take a look at J.Lo hosting the AMA's and MC's dress at the Billboard Awards. She threw shade at Mariah's residency with her Spears comment too and now she's naming her own after the music video that had LL Cool J throwing a butterfly into a fire. J.Lo's first attempt at a residency was rejected for asking too much money. The fact is her only world tour didn't sell well. She held a concert with 25,000 free tickets in her home town and less than half showed up. They thought she was fake and a sell out. She's going to Vegas to cash in on tourists which is her best bet. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Rihanna going platinum (59,427) (59,436) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
That annoyed me so much. Like if you are giving the album away for free and have Samsung pay for it then obviously it'll go platinum. From what I heard, most of her fans didn't even enjoy the album. Jay-Z trying so hard to make Tidal happen and he got 1 million subscribers for Tidal after Rihanna released her hyped album for free but aren't these trial subscribers who will eventually close the account after a month?

Re: Walter (59,428) (59,435) by Giovanni from USA
I'm in no way anti Walter. I have not forgotten what he has contributed to Mariah's music. All I was saying was that she doesn't need him to be successful again.

Re: Rihanna going platinum (59,427) (59,434) by Seth M from South Africa
If you read this article, then you will see that Samsung (who she signed a deal with) bought 1 million copies and gave it away as free downloads. So it's easy to go platinum if you have the support of a big corporation buying a million copies and giving it away as free downloads.

Walter and new sounds (59,433) by David F from Mexico
Hola back, some of you agree about Walter greatness and chemistry with Mariah like Ian from UK. He wrote just the truth , you all know he knows a lot about musical arrangements and instruments, that was my point, and they just click, time has passed and maybe he has something big for her in mind. He knows Mariah's voice structure and they can try something not necessarily to be destined a huge hit. I just love what they created together. I want that magic back.

Deolinda Kinzima's Hero on Portugal's The Voice (59,432) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I thought this was quite lovely. She really made it her own. Mariah should be very proud that this little "schmaltzy" song, she originally wrote for Gloria Estefan, is such an anthem going on 20 years now. At my school it was covered a lot in the mid 90's during our talent shows (ironically, never by me). It's still probably the case. Good luck Deolinda, you have a very nice voice.

Re: Rihanna going platinum (59,427) (59,430) by B from USA
She gave her album away and now her PR team are claiming it was an error, bahaha. The RIAA is recognizing Anti's milestone numbers, Billboard and Nielsen are not counting Anti's sales on Tidal towards their totals.

Re: The ring (59,426) (59,429) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
It makes me laugh actually. She's wearing the ring, not shoving it in peoples faces. The media puts it own spin on everything.

Walter (59,428) by Ian from United Kingdom
I hate how some people are so anti Walter, we should not forget that together they were an amazing songwriting team and gave us what I believe to be some of her best work ever, she was writing serious work which will last forever, more than the throwaway over produced tracks featuring too many rappers we won't even remember in 10 years time. Respect is due to a very talented man who at the time was a major part of producing those big ballads we all love. Just saying.

Rihanna going platinum (59,427) by Lee TS from USA
So what is this trickery? If this is how the game works now then I don't care, Jimmy better buy Mariah's next #1 single and platinum week sales. Mess.

The ring (59,426) by Nick from Maryland
Her ring is great and all but it's kind of annoying how every article about Mariah talks about how she's "flaunting" the ring or "showing off" the ring. Feeds into the whole diva image even more. I guess she's supposed to keep her hand in her pocket or something.

Re: The richness and Riri (59,419) (59,425) by May from Denmark
In all fairness David, we don't know what Mariah does most of the time in her private life and what's the situation with her mother and what kind of communication they have. We only get a few pictures weekly and some public events Mariah has to appear as part of her job, then, after all that, we don't know three hoots what Mariah does with her life or with who she has contact or anything. I believe sometimes is better to stop assuming things. Yes, being with mom is the best, but not 24 hours, I know I wouldn't want to be with my mom 24 hours and I like her lol. Good grief she would drive me crazy, we don't know how Mariah's mom is in private life.

I agree Mimi, if she did Emancipation huge and without Walter she most definitely can do it again. Walter is history.

Jerry O'Connell (59,423) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I just saw Jerry's appearance on the Wendy Show and oh gosh the man is so funny. He is just effortlessly funny and just took over the show. I remember a while back he said in an interview that he had a crush on Mariah. Man I wish they had dated. Mariah loves to joke and Jerry would make her laugh until her tummy hurts. Plus the guy is quite the looker.

Mariah looks so happy she is simply beaming. It's so good to see her in such a good place right now.

Re: The richness and Riri (59,420) (59,421) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes Walter is done with. Plus I don't want Mariah to be stuck in her comfort zone. I want her to experiment a little like she did with #Beautiful and YDKWTD and MILG. I want her to find a new sound because she is very versatile she just needs to be inspired or a second opinion.

Re: The richness and Riri (59,419) (59,420) by Giovanni from USA
I like your thinking but I don't think Mariah would ever work with Walter again. Nor does she need him. Her career stayed strong after "Daydream" and she's still a force to be reckoned with. She can still sing and has written so many amazing songs. Some that had potential to be number one. Mariah has plenty of other talented songwriters she can work with.

The richness and Riri (59,419) by David F from Mexico
I think this rich life concept does not benefit Mariah at all. People admire Mariah for her voice not a luxury life, and I must say the press writes about the bling bling every time which causes envy instead of her role model. I always wonder why her mother is not around her and why all her past friends are not too. I hope Stella is not misleading Carey to end alone and crazy. Mr packer travels a lot and Mariah demands total company when she loves someone, he should buy her the most expensive and rare sound, beat whatever to turn heads again not material things she doesn't need, pay Walter the most rare song he may have look at Bieber he got the right sounds, he is not a stellar singer is all about that these days. Mariah needs to find new inspiration on simple things. I wish she'd be with her mother more often, being near with mother is the best thing in the world.

New pics (59,418) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah was at a gala recently with James and wow she looks good. Her face looks so youthful. That weight loss is quite shocking. She is getting thinner everyday. Not a big fan of the dress but she looks stunning.

The super agent is from UTA. Apparently the Euro tour was part of her contract when she signed on to UTA. So a new meeting might mean we have more announcements?

Congratulations Mariah, touch my body (59,416) by safe from jamaica
Congratulations to the queen of music Mariah Carey. "Touch my body" has hit the 100 million views and it's Vevo certified. So much positivity in Mariah's life and career lately. We pray for more accolades plus more records to be set by the queen. [censored]

Stellar post. I often wonder what was the name of the song on that famous demo tape? Weakness of the body.

Re: Stella (59,374) (59,414) by May from Denmark
I don't believe is just Stella all the time, her make up artist and close friend has also been on the yatch, on the vacations and even Aspen. It's like been said "a giant circus", and also the Asian nanny as well, sorry don't know her name. I thought alike that they were all living together in Aspen, including Packer. Mariah always had people living with her. At least Stella, beyond being her manager and very likely already a good friend (no one would have a person they don't like for that long around), all her other few friends were emotional support, they played zero part in her life, sometimes I even had the impression that friend Mariah always took in her jet trips was just with MC for her money, but we will never know. I can't judge Stella, she is doing her job and surely is around 24/7 because Mariah asked her, from what I know Stella is married and to someone also in thr entrepreneur/management area, yet we never see pictures of them together, when do they even spend time together, wouldn't she like to be with her husband? If Stella appeared and Mariah's friend dissapeared suddenly, then they were never Mariah's friends. And Rachel is not really someone Mariah sees often since years, I think is that kind of childhood friendship one keeps close to the heart and they see each other when the time for an occasion presents. Last time Mariah vacationed with her was years ago.

Topics of the board (59,413) by Lee TS from USA
Stella was seen out with a "super agent" of Hollywood, stealthily making movies for Mariah I see. Rihanna has a bop on her hands that has #1 written all over it with "Kiss It Better". Jimmy not getting a prenup would be so irresponsible, I think board members of his company would veto him out. It's true, no one can unbreak Toni's heart like she can. Impossible. Although superstardom didn't turn out the way Brenda had hoped for, I still appreciate what she did for Mariah. Not just handing the infamous demo tape, but like buying her a coat during winter. I really want to see Mariah in a backless gown. Hope she's being inspired for new music.

Re: Brenda at it again (59,401) (59,412) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I really didn't take her crying as resentment toward Mariah. Maybe it's just me? It felt it's more what she eluded to herself during the interview, and her dreams being played out vicariously through her daughter. I didn't take it as her blaming Mariah for the fact that her career didn't exactly pan out the way she'd once hoped, but yeah, she does miss singing the way she did before. She's right in a way, at the level of celebrity, Mariah has reached, maintaining the relationship they had before Mariah got signed doesn't come without all the trappings of fame.
