Migrate feat. T-Pain IKWYW with Busta Rhymes - I think most of young non-lambs in my country know MC only by this song. Underneath The Stars (Drifting Remix) - It reminds me of The Roof a lot and has the same dark mood.

Not a good look (59,884)
by George Golden from UK

So according to Billboard Rihanna will go to number one. I can't believe this is happening. She is catching up real fast. I don't care what anybody says here, it won't be good if Rihanna surpasses Mariah. They are so going to rub it in her face and I think that is the plan. Not a good look. It's just strange that someone like Rihanna would surpass Mariah. Radio eats up anything she releases without any promotion. It's funny how she was a good artist with catchy songs but after her domestic abuse she was put on a sympathy train where she could do no wrong. Now anything she releases goes to number one. Chris Brown hasn't had a number since then. Lol. After TMB Mariah just relaxed and became comfortable and started releasing whatever she liked. Putting out the wrong single over and over again. Same formular, same rent a rapper records, same cringy videos. It has all been a mess. Now look at what is happening now. The last time Mariah had a number one single Rihanna only had only one.

True, I'm loving that clip since I watched it. One commentator said, "As a lamb I've noticed that the problem is not with her voice, the problem is confidence. She should unleashed her 90's confidence and the '05 vindicated attitude and she'll kick ass once again.?" I'm somewhat agree with him. I do believe that if Mariah will bring that confidence, all things will work together.

I love this. Her rap collabos get bashed a lot but she has some good ones. Some I prefer over the originals while others I love for being just as good with a different composition. 1. Thank God I Found You/Make It Last-Feat Nas - The original was nice, but not noteworthy. This was around the time Mariah was making ballads that leaned more towards pop and less soul. When I heard this remix play for the first time on the hiphop/r&b station, I freaked out because it really captured Mariah's musical essence at the time. Her voice sounds so good on this track, the way she kept transitioning in vocal styles throughout the song. One of the best gems in her discography. 2. I Know What You Want - This song made her hot again in the States. Her and Busta singing back and forth. She looked great in the video and the look was unique (no gowns lol). Every girl in the club at the time used to sing the bridge along with her when this song came on. It hit #3 on the Hot 100. 3. I Still Believe/Pure Imagination featuring Da Brat and Krazie Bone - This remix takes you to a cloudy, heady, dreamworld. The backgrounds, Lazy Bone's harmonies, Da Brat's diss to Derek and Motolla (even if my label drops me, I'ma still sell copies). This was Mariah's creative peak in regards to remixes. They really are two different songs.

I'm so glad that MC's vocals have made such a tremendous comeback. Now it's to the point where I can take for granted that she will sound great in any recent clip that I click on. No more constant anxiety about the state of her voice. I'm feeling grateful.

Ok Mariah, even with the dry heat that is death to the vocal chords you continue to improve. I like how now she is taking a crack at singing her BET Blueprint Performance in 2015 where she growls the "so faithfully".

1. My All/Stay Awhile. Everything about this track is brilliant IMO. 2. The Roof (Full Crew Club Mix). Lost track of how many times I have played it, sometimes I just let it repeat, it's so sensually moody and I love it so much. 3. As much as I adore "Fantasy" with O.D.B and Heartbreaker with Jay Z, I am torn between Underneath The Stars (Drifting Remix) and I Still Believe/Pure Imagination for third lol.

Yes, finally an interesting topic. (No shade.) I too have wondered why Mariah never released those songs that never made the album. My guess is that she may have saved some for the next project. I have a feeling she has at least one or two amazing ballad type songs. I really want to hear "I'll still be around" and "Save the day". If infact they were actual songs. I remember when I first heard "Bring it on home" I was mesmerized. Even though it's not a full length song, it's still something great that Mariah should have finished and released. This is the type of music I want from her. But whatever's to come, I'm sure it will be good. I expect a new album around summer or by the end of the year.

Queen Mariah and Rihanna (59,875)
by safe from jamaica

I guess it's important for Mariah and her team to note that in as much as we love Mariah we also want what we can always boast of about our incomparable queen of music, such as her being the solo artist with the highest No. 1 records. Hence all hands should be on deck to make sure Mariah's next album comes out with masterpieces of songs mostly danceable ones and the verses plus chorus should be a sing along type not a rush rush one that makes it difficult to understand, with few power ballads and catchy plus colorful highly budgeted videos of Mariah wearing different ensembles and hair colours, since the bulk of music listeners presently are more interested in visuals. We won't want to see Rihanna break that No. 1 records because it belongs solely to our incomparable queen. Queen Mariah you can make it happen please do it for your lambs.

Here's a performance of "Hero" from the CB tour in LA. She sounds impeccable, and looks fantastic too, total glam queen. Worth watching it. Her tone was so good in that tour, full, robust.

Unreleased songs from MIAM / my ramblings (59,873)
by Marquise from USA

I've been wondering why no unreleased songs scrapped from the Me I Am Mariah album has surfaced yet. It seemed like an inevitable thing for a few unreleased songs from each of her albums to magically pop up, but nothing hasn't showed up. I don't know if Mariah has been working on a new album or is finished with one, but I hope she releases an mid/up-tempo song to get the buzz going a song like Obsessed, I'll Be Loving You Long Time, Thirsty, Migrate, It's Like That etc. with a good radio deal like they did for #Beautiful plus the TV promo. Then follow it up with a big catchy ballad that she can slay live, seeing that a lot of ballads are in the top 20 right now. Anyways I think they did a great job promoting Infinity and the Vegas show. Imagine the push her new single and album will get. I expect her to release a new album around August or September or early 2017 once her tour and Vegas residency is over so she can focus solely on promoting her new album. What do you lambs think?

Yeah, I know what you mean, completely. I understand you meant the GP. But, by the same token, there's no way to control how the industry changes, or the way things will play out, so might as well not invest effort in worrying about it. People who want to, will always find a way to diminish Mariah's success. I guess for me, it becomes about how much validity people are willing to give to that way of thinking.

Hey Deedre. Thanks for your post. See I agree with you, and just like you, I didn't become a Mariah fan knowing she is so successful. In fact when I first became a fan, it was solely because of her voice. I heard her voice and that just amazed me to no end. I am not even talking about the whistle. (Although when I heard that I was like is this even possible? Haha I was really young.) It's just her tone is so unique and remarkable, it just makes you take notice. At that time, I thought she was a lesser known singer (but she was already a huge star). I thought she was lesser known because where I am from, not many people know her music and more so back in the day. Very few people here know about Mariah and her catalogue. Michael, Britney, Spice Girls, Janet Jackson, BSB and the likes were the ones people were listening to here during that time (the 90s). So when I discovered her, I thought wow she has such a beautiful voice but why is she not famous? It was years later, after I got the internet that I realized what an accomplished star she is not only in the US but worldwide. I also got to know about the full capacity of her vocal range, all the multiple recognition she received and so on. I was so surprised that I was in the dark for so many years and at the same time I was so proud of her, and when she made history with her 18th #1, it was huge. Anyways, I maybe could not express it properly in my original post, but I wasn't talking about people like you and me (who are fans because of her talent and not number) but about the GP and non-lambs. They have already written her off on every other account, taking every opportunity to diminish her contribution, so her records are the only things people can't deny because they are set in stone, so this is why I get so bothered when any of her records are threatened. But that's just me, I just want her to always be on top. But I understand what you mean completely.

I totally get where you are coming from Mimi L. I understand your concern. We all love MC, but the headlines will be on her like white on rice no matter what she does. A record being broken by someone else is no exception to this. Whatever happens, happens, you know what I mean? It will play out regardless. There are always going to be people who make success more about numbers and titles. For some, that's what success means. It's not to me. I haven't followed Mariah since 1990 because of her 18 #1's or because she's promoted as the "Best Selling Female artist of all time". The titles are nice, but they aren't why I'll be here "til the end of time". Lol it's Mariah, the way her songs touch me, it's everything she's journeyed through, still managing to keep a smile on her face, it's her playfulness and sensitivity, it's her willingness to try things even when the public tears her apart for it, it's her choice to still be out there even despite every project or tour not reaching the coveted #1 spot etc. Just my 02 cents.

The only reason it debuted in top 10 was because Billboard changed the weightage of the Hot 100 formula. Under the old one, she would've most likely debuted at #18.

G, I think what Lee meant was to Stella's daughters Mariah is now a legacy act or a veteran. And he isn't saying it in a disrespectful manner, and I understand what he means, because Stella's daughters are like 11 or 12. They would be more interested in current pop stars like Katy and Beyonce more than Mariah because generally that's what today's generation is into. Of course we can't be sure, but in general, this is the scenario. Diana Ross is a legend, but like in my case, I never really bothered trying out her work or even Madonna's because they were before my time and when I started getting into music there were other people who were popular. That doesn't diminish Diana's contribution to the world, it just means that each generation ends up idolizing stars who are popular during their generation. So if we generalize the Bulochnikov kids, they are more likely to be interested in the Rihannas and the Taylors. I hope I could make you understand. Lately I have not been able to express myself properly haha.

That would be a killer is she released an uptempo record with Beyonce. This is what I have been saying, she has wasted too much time mocking about. It's time to release a hit record. Throw away the old formular of rappers and release big uptempo records that can't be ignored.
