Besides Mariah, Roc is taking in Nick's personality as well. When Howard Stern asked Nick if his children uses the N word, he said Roc does and that's his little man. Ummm, I guess.

She kept the public and crew waiting for three hours in the rain and told them she was "on the phone". Somebody retaliated. Not sure Mariah was a victim there.

Busta bust (58,182)

Hmmm, after listening to The Lambily Meeting, I would agree with them that maybe Mariah should cancel her appearance and stay home to rest in preparation for Beacon. To move Mariah from NY to NJ must be a whole production, and we know hair and makeup must at least take 3 hours minimum. I know we're glad it's just the flu and she can make jokes about it, but she did go to the hospital. She needs to stay in bed and rest, order The Good Dinosaur and watch it with the kids. I rather her be 100% at her own show than killing herself over a favor for a friend.

I just watched the interview too and it is just weird how watching the whole program without the editing changed 100% my opinion about her stiffness and awkwardness. Mariah appeared with a very down to earth and likeable attitude. She looked calm and mature, and I'd say somehow careful with her responses but still being honest. The interview was really well thought and scripted, seemed like a favor from Steve to MC and from her to him. I'm really impressed, her publicist and Stella are really doing their work.

Re: AIWFCIY acoustic version with new 95-96ish vocals (58,169) (58,180)

Hi Mandy. The vocals on the acoustic version are all from the original 1994 session. Usually many takes will be done or the song sang numerous different ways before deciding on the final version. It is not an official remix and wasn't from Sony being hacked. It was made by an indepedent remixer who managed to get hold of the original vocal track from 1994. Not sure how he managed that, but assume he has a friend at Sony that was able to get them.

I'm 23 and a diehard Mariah fan like there's no other in the world I think is better. I saw her live for the first time ever in Vegas in May (which happened to be the show they filmed Infinity at) and was considering seeing her again in Vegas coming up in a few months and was seeing what you all thought? Yay or nay? Will she be performing much longer?

So I just watched the interview (watch the link if you are interested). I really liked it. I saw a lot of lambs on other boards talking about how Mariah looked unfocused or not interesting or whatever. I thought the interview went great. Mariah was sweet, slightly funny and classy and cute. The interview was fun to watch. She answered stuff directly and made small jokes. I laughed when she threw shade at Glitter. (Mimi get a hold of yourself, Glitter is a lamb cult classic, stop bashing it. Ugh these people. *like Roc*) Finally a long interview with Mariah. I really hope though that we get another long serious interview of her like the ones she did with Oprah or Larry King or Barbara Walters. But for now, I am satisfied with this interview. Can't wait for the Busta Rhymes concert footage to surface.

It's actually the original AIWFCIY vocals in 94, I'm not sure about when the scats were recorded. This is actually a fan remix and he got the lead vocal stem from the hack. It was a breathtaking remix seriously, [...] I love it so much my heart hurts. Thanks Mandy for sharing this gem, I need Mariah to discover this and sing it live. Release it. Perform it. [...] I live for this remix.

I'll pray that she would get well really soon. I hope she takes lots of rest and eat well so that she'll recover soon. She's so determined and professional, she still came to Pier 1 even if she's sick. Don't take it too much Mimi, I really hope you'll be healthy soon enough.

As much as I would want Mariah to get on that damn stage and sing her derriere off to shut everyone up (I am sick of last year's meme's and videos surfacing again), but I will respect her wishes if she doesn't perform. I think NBC did her wrong by not backing her up and letting her get embarrassed like this. I would however like her to sing it somewhere else maybe which will be televised and not just Beacon because Mariah Carey is not done with this business yet, she is just getting started.

Although the acoustic version is really good, I feel what made AIWFCIY is the burst of festiveness in it. The song probably would not have become such a huge hit if it was stripped down. The background score and the over-festiveness (in a good way) is what made the song a holiday staple. It just makes you want to get out of your chair and jam to it while simultaneously busting into weird holiday dance moves blending it in with signature Mariah gestures. Side note, I also love the version she did with Fallon.

An analogy (58,172)
by Jared from USA
| |
|
|
Remember how in Mean Girls, Cady (Lindsay Lohan) reflects that it might have been okay to say that Damian is "too gay to function" among the clique consisting of her, Damian (Daniel Franzese) and Janis (Lizzy Caplan), but it's not okay to talk about him that way with other people. I feel like it should be okay for us lambs to talk about Mariah openly - even negatively (but always respectfully) - in a forum like this (within our lambily), but it's not okay to mock her or deride her in public forums including but not limited to YouTube and Facebook. Yes, a casual admirer might stumble upon such comments and run with them, but it seems very unlikely considering the countless readily available online distractions that an outsider would happen to take the time to read what Mariah's fans think about her every move.

Apostasy of the Lambs (58,171)
by Jared from USA
| |
|
|
Maybe I'm not that into her. Or maybe I'm a "moderate" in practicing Mariahism, and not a fundamentalist worshipper. The few times I post a negative opinion of her doings, I am declared an apostate, a goat in lambs' clothing, told to consider "divorcing" her, and mocked by someone who sounds like they need to consider having a professional evaluate their mental health. Am I supposed to applaud and hand over dollars every time Mariah takes a dump? Is that what it takes to be a true lamb? Wait, Benny Medina is telepathically sending me orders to continue spreading negativity. He says I'm now on JLo's payroll, and the money will be in my checking account via direct deposit by tomorrow. I would love to live in Dreamville where apparently some people are connected to her on a cosmic level, but I can't afford to. I've already spent thousands of dollars on merch and tickets for Mariah Carey, not to mention countless hours of enjoying (and discussing) her output in music, television and film. How sad. I promise you, I'm not a troll, and anyone who wants to practice Mariahism with me without having to declare holy war on the dissenters will find me in the orchestra section of the Beacon theatre on December 14.

AIWFCIY acoustic version with new 95-96ish vocals (58,169)
by JAXGH from United States

|
Somebody mentioned about wanting to hear AIWFCIY in acoustic, say no more lmao. Here you go. I wish she would release this. I know some lambs probably already have it but I wanted to bring it back since it's Christmas. This leaked when Sonygot hacked. A treat for everybody. It's way better than the original and it's so much more intimate since it's just guitar and vocals. I'm assuming this was recorded around 96. She sounded just like Tokyo Dome so I'm gonna pretend this was done 96 lmfao. Or it could be 95. But seriously it's so beautiful. I live for the scatting and the adlibs at the end. I've never heard Mariah in full acoustic other than in Right To Dream. Enjoy.

Good move (58,168)
by David F from Mexico

We have to respect what Mariah decides in terms about performing or not at the Rockefeller Center this year. She owns her career. What they did to her last year was so mean, so exposed, she had to hold on as usual. She plays her game the way she wants but people are responding to the song in a big way this year. If she wants the song to go higher she clearly needs to give it one or two renditions. It is legit for people to always expect that from her every December. She is the queen of Christmas after all.

I'm telling you, Mariah is gearing up for something big. I love my Mariah no matter what size she is, but when she trims down it's usually for something big (whether it be an album or a TV stint). She is looking fantastic and like I've always said, Mariah just naturally exudes sensuality so she can be sexy even when she's covered up. That outfit is fire.

I laughed at the the way the article tried to create this whole grudge thing because look, there's a difference between being vengeful and setting boundaries of what is and isn't okay with you. I think after AI Mariah is just done with recordings emerging for the sole purpose of fueling a smear campaigns. Especially when it is coming from the network you are partnered with.

It's probably this awkward because it's supposed to be funny, it seems forced. Her best acting has always been in more dramatic roles (Precious, The Butler).
