Good Morning America (57,927)
by B from USA

I hope Mariah is coherent and down to earth. She needs to be as likeable as possible to regain the respect of older fans that were turned off by her diva antics. She doesn't need to ramble and play up the diva image like she usually does which isn't gaining her any new fans. I'm not bashing Mariah. I hope this interview is as good as her recent interviews. I honestly believe she's gearing up for a comeback. Slay, Mariah.

Baby, I agree. Mariah posted a photo of her and Busta on the set of IKWYW. Her doing so implies her collaboration with Rick Ross is as good or better than her collaboration with Busta. People forget that she started her comeback by working with Busta. It was her only hit until 2005 when she released It's Like That. I think she's been secretly recording an album that she'll surprise release.

Whatever, I don't regret what I stated. Baby needed a reality check. Just because this is a Mariah messageboard doesn't mean we can't bring up or discuss other music artists. Especially ones we'd like her to work with.

Mariah is up on the UK iTunes charts. We Belong Together is at 55. I think that the X Factor performance helped the song roar again. I hope it stays a little more. I think it touched people's hearts for what's happened. AIWFCIY is doing good too. Time for Mimi to promote.

Attacking each other (57,922)

How childish, it doesn't even matter who started, the fact that we have to read it is enough. I think there is a rule here "Messages that are insulting (to Mariah, other artists or members of this messageboard) will not be posted." Seeing as some of you are in fact insulting each other, makes me wonder why it's posted, it makes it very uncomfortable to visit the messageboard. I think we all said it at one point, ignore the messages from members you don't agree with, it's not that deep seeing as nobody is anything more then a member with an opinion.

Can't Say No (57,921)

I just hope she got to produce her vocals and write her topline and lyrics. This collaboration is super interesting as it will tell us in what direction her sound is evolving so the more involved in it she is, the better. MIAMTEC, Infinity, Why You Mad, Can't Say No. Maybe it'll even get a remix that ends up on the next album output. I'm assuming there's a video in the works because hello, have you seen her lately? *Rick Ross grunts*

New song (57,918)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Does anyone have any info about the Mariah and Rick Ross collaboration? I am always excited for new Mariah music and I hope that they release it as a single with a hot video if it's a good song. Mariah is looking better than ever right now and she should not feel shy about flaunting her good looks in a hot video. Although I hope it's not only vanity shots. I would love for a "My Love" or "IKWYW" type song (the version of "IKWYW" with the extra Mariah verse).

The bleating of the "lamb" (57,917)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Baby, don't come for me when I am not even addressing you. Make your point without trying to lower the other person or abusing them. But of course you can't do that because half of the time you don't have a strong point to begin with. You get so caught up trying hard to throw (and then fail) a Regina/Mariah shade that you end up missing the (occasional good) point you try to make. And as far as making up stuff and passing them off as truth, honey, no one does it better than you. You have tried to pass off every conspiracy theory that your mind comes up with as the gospel truth. From Mottola and Thalia vacationing in Europe (which is somehow in your mind connected to Mariah) to aliens trying to abduct Mariah to replicate her voice (ok so you haven't come up with this yet, but you ain't far from it). Also I don't see what's your problem with my moniker on this board, this is the second time you whined about it. It's a freaking Mariah message board, I can call myself anything I want. Since when are you on moniker patrol duty? Grow the fudge up really. Your childish rants are getting quite boring now.

DJ Suss One in French interview on Mariah (57,916)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
The interviewer was trying a little too hard to paint MC as capricious of all things diva but Suss shut it down like nothing. Here's the transcript: Public.FR: I wanted to know, you collaborate with Mariah Carey. Rumor has it that she's really capricious ( da [censored], since when?). You know her personally so I wanted to know is she a "real diva" in real life or is she cool? DJ Suss1: I mean, no. First of all, she's the cool, one of the coolest people you'll ever meet in the history of the human race. Public.FR: Really? DJ Suss1: Yeah. Of course she has her diva-ish ways, not meaning her personality though, her personality, she's one of the coolest people. But of course you know, she's gonna have hair done. When I say "diva", I mean her swag is on point. Public.FR: Yeah, yeah. Everything has to be on point. Everyday. DJ Suss1: Shoes, hair, "the look". Yeah, but her personality? Public.FR: *nods* DJ Suss1: One of the sweetest, most humble, most incredible, most loving people that you'll ever meet. Nuff said.

I got distracted from posting this nice rendition of We Belong Together. She started out a bit like a non-event but she went off in the climax and saved the performance. Uneven talent but I can sense the potential for a great future if she works hard.

Oh please, the only relevant MiMi on this board is Mariah. I don't acknowledge anyone on this board who unapolagetically tried to pass off obvious lies about Mariah as the truth no matter their pick of Mariah related moniker. And don't blame me for your own choice in taking what I wrote as a very general note to the board so personal. If you wanna keep talking about Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, and her non-connection to Mariah, go right ahead. After all, this is a general messageboard. We should start swaping our favorite recipes for vegetarian casseroles too then. So then what exactly draws you to this site when you just said you think I am an "obsessed Mariah freak"? BTW, That only explains my presence, not yours. I love how I'm the freak for wanting the conversations and discussions to be centred on Mariah on a freaking Mariah Carey messageboard. But I guess a hit dog will always holler. If I'm so wrong and you're so right Giovanni, then why didn't you just keep doing what you were doing? You could have just ignored me like I have been ignoring you for all this time. Why are you so Thirsty for my attention? Please, I beg you don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question. And go on about Adele if that's whatever is gonna make you happy. See, I can relate because I love Mariah Carey in a very similar way. Some electively uninformed people have been known to twist that into me being an obsessed freak but you wouldn't know anything about that, would you Giovanni?

That if Mariah were to release any of her hits from the 90's today. They'd still shoot to number one on Billboard. Which is why if she wants a hit she needs to write songs that are up to pair with her older ones.

You can stay in the inside. It would be better. And of course Baby is just mad because somebody told it like it is and called her out on her bull****. We're free to discuss anything we want, especially if it's music related. This isn't your site and you don't make the rules, so sit down. I'm not like you, an obsessed Mariah Carey freak who is always spouting out nonsense no one cares for. And didn't Mimi L. already read you multiple times. Bye Baby.

I totally agree with your point about Mariah not trusting the public to overshare anymore. In her recent interviews post-divorce I sense that she is much more inhibited and guarded than I've ever seen her in the past. It's something I see in her eyes now even when she looks happy it seems like she is anticipating shade, someone to twist her words, or just general bullshit and has prepared herself to shut it down, to the point where it seems like she's not fully relaxed or enjoying the moment. I feel that she has a wall up and it's unfortunate. Besides Travon, has anyone else gotten this vibe?

Here is Kyla singing Leading The Way. She was singing for a lambily club in Philippines (she's also a lamb). She really nailed the falsetto, riffs and runs, the climax and the long 21 second note at the end. All live. Enjoy. Lmao the lambs are so cute at the end giving praise.

I agree with you. But disagree with general concept of "elusiveness". Kind of felt like Mariah just [censored] off whilst we were all desperate for a chart attack. Sympathy is oversought. Vanity prevails. Cheap videos blamed upon record companies is nonsense. She's loaded. I want Mariah Carey the "queen" back. A third and probably final chart attack is absolutely necessary or there's not much point. She has the songwriting ability. She is the songbird supreme. Not sure there is a fair comparator. Lipping and all other criticisms aside, she taps into people when she's on point. Adele? Mariah can do this even better. Movies? Cards? Shopping? All nonsense. She needs to get back to her day job and give it one final smash. Lose weight, drop the disenchanting diva attitude, write some relevant songs, drop the trying-to-be-cool lyrics and hit the Butterfly depth again, and sing them live. Nobody expects Mariah Carey to be the vocalist she was. But they will respect her for owning it and having attitude. Nobody [censored] with Whitney. Until the very end. All other artists fans will be in awe. She just needs to go for it. Agree with Gio and others about ballads, ballads turning into upbeat, classic universal stuff etc. Day job, please Mariah. I'm reminded of how absolutely astonishing she was.

Re: Speak up more (57,901) (57,907)

Jonathan, as you said, Mariah has been indeed misunderstood but there are many forces that have led to that, some of them pulled by MC herself, but she clearly does not care. When I said that the "Elusive Chanteuse" was as "bare" as she would get at this point in her career, I meant that it's doubtful that she would have a tell-all, "this is for real for real, Oprah Winfrey whole segment for real" interview now, so you have to read between the lines, of her music in specific. That's where she puts everything but she does not name-call it, hence the "elusiveness". In fact, in my opinion, "The "Elusive Chanteuse" album was her most personal since, I don't know, "Charmbracelet" probably (sure "Memoirs" had very personal songs as well, but personal in the sense of specific to her - see "The Impossible" - instead of introspective, soul-searching songs). There may come a time that she speaks about Alison or Morgan, but I don't see it right now. It's obvious that as much as she is Hollywood, there are certain things that are out of reach. And it's fine. I think she expressed the most the way you mean it between "Buttterfly" and "Charmbracelet". As I've said before, she was at her most unguarded during those years. After that, and especially after 2008, there was a clear distinction between personal and public. The way in fact she treated the second divorce - which obviously was life-changing for her - just shows you how human she is. She could have made a headline with a revealing interview, but she didn't. As Miss Ross has said, "this is my life, not a [censored] story".

X Factor UK (57,906)
by Andrew from UK

Half an hour into X Factor and two Mariah songs performed (OSD and WBT). General theme, as always: "You tried to sing a Mariah." My whatsapp going mad. Love me some Mariah. So proud. Love me some Mariah. Buzzing. I forget sometimes how [censored] amazing her [censored] is. Reminds me of the first X Factor when I lived at home and Simon Cowell said, word for word, "Even Mariah Carey misses notes sometimes" and I snapped my head around to my dad and insisted "no she [censored] doesn't" and he belly laughed. Love me some Mariah.

I agree with you Jonathan. I've been the biggest supporter of MC from June of 1990 and I've been in the music business for over 15 years and there are a lot of things people don't know about what Mariah has been through that she never shared and it's time. All she has to do is "speak the truth, stand in her truth and she will be free" in doing that she will gain more support then she has ever had because people will relate to her more and she will also save lives by sharing her stories and struggles. I'm sure that will happen eventually, I just think that time is now.
