Shelly (50,989) by Marissa from USA
Shelly, I am sad to see you go. Although we are seen as lambs on polar opposite ends of the spectrum (negative vs. positive thing), you're truly a kind spirited person and I enjoy hearing your views. You will certainly be missed on this board.

I've enjoyed your post as well, we'll miss you.

Shelly (50,987) by Mara from United States
Just wanted to say I hope everything is alright and you will be missed here as I always enjoy reading what you have to say and always tend to agree with your posts. We have a lot of the same thoughts on Mariah. Take whatever time you need, I for one know what you mean about being on here too much. I have been doing a lot of that lately as well and sometimes you do just need a "break" from it all. Would def love to meet up over a Christmas show if you and some other MCA people are interested. That would be something to look forward to. But take care for now and know even though I don't post everyday, I never miss a day here and this board feels like family to me so be well and look forward to hearing from you again.

Dan Tana's and HRC gala (50,985) by B from USA
After the Joan River's misstep Mariah has been dressing conservatively and looking stunning. I loved her look while out on the town in Hollywood. Is this LA Reid's influence or is she reading this messageboard? Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Shelly (50,984) by Gloria from Hong Kong
We definitely enjoy your company here. You are such a sweet and lovely person and always have hope on Mariah. I really like reading your posts and I am sure your departure will be a great loss here. Anyway, hope everything is ok with you and please come back when you feel you're ready. We need you. Love, Gloria.

Hypnotised (50,983) by Will from England
It's killing me that Mariah is teasing us about a demo she made when she was a teenager. And with all these demo leaks on YouTube, am I the only one who thinks that they could be including early demos, plus new music she's working on currently, as part of the new compilation album? And on a completely different subject, it's amusing to me that the Song Legacy Music twitter page has tweeted more about Mariah than IDJ during her last two albums.

Andrew (50,982) by Gloria from Hong Kong
When I saw Andrew's post (50,961) I was shocked. For the first time I understand why you come here no matter what and justify yourself everytime you express your "negativity". It really comes from the heart yearning for the real Mariah Carey, for which I also wish to come back. Given the pessimistic stands and harsh comments on everything Mariah did, of course there were doubts that you were not a "lamb", and "silence/get out" requests. To be honest, sometimes I was irritated by your negative posts which could sound like insulting her image and underestimating her effort. But here you definitely represent the "bad cop" saying that in your discourse, for MC's sake, you are not afraid of gaining a bad reputation for throwing ruthless opinions and being true to yourself. But guess what? We are here because of our love for Mariah Carey (for haters I don't know why) and your existence proves that you care for her (although not so much for the fans who always want the positive side). After all the falls and disappointments you're still here. We all have our responses, except you get to choose the path which allows you to be critical. One problem may be being too critical that some fans here can't stand. To everyone, please don't silence different opinions. Disagreements are what make us better and better. Endless arguments keep this board alive and interesting. If annoyed, respond nicely or just leave it. No one can force you to hate unless you want to.

Sony Epic Records (50,981) by Ethan from United States
It all makes sense that Mariah signed with Epic Records since 15 of her #1s are under Sony. It makes it easier to update the #1s CD and re-release it. I don't know how soon it will be released but I hope that she will sing a few new songs during her Vegas residency. It just reminds us how she did it for Dreamlover, Hero, Anytime You Need A Friend, and Without You during her Thanksgiving Special 20 plus years ago. This is the year of divas as many are releasing CDs and so far a few of them has been receiving a lot of critical reviews. Thus, I hope Mariah will do the same.

Wendy Williams (50,980) by RJJ12 from USA
Baby, I just got done watching Wendy today. She really just makes it a mission to blast her. She has pity for her. Saying she shouldn't do new music but just let her go to the studio so she thinks she is doing something. Saying she can't compete in a Rihanna world. She should just worry about Vegas. Saying she needs to be seen out dating. Then an audience member blasts her too saying she agrees and that Mariah can't sing anymore.

Disconnecting (50,979) by Dove from USA
I wanted to let you guys know I'm not going to be coming on here anymore. I feel like I've been spending way too much time in front of a screen either: watching Netflix, being on Facebook, coming onto this site compulsively, looking up old MC articles and videos, etc. Those things are okay to do once in a while but I feel like I don't have a real life anymore, other than my job. I've lived on this site since last summer. I'll come back to give my report about the Vegas show and in case people still want to meet up for the Christmas show. Love you guys. I will miss you all. I know MC is going to be spectacular and blow us all away in the best possible way.

Someday demo (50,978) by RJJ12 from USA
Where are these videos coming from? Here is the one for Someday. I wonder if she has access to her old demos and if she does, would she release them for the fans?

I came across a new video (50,977) by Rene from US

I have never seen this video of Mariah talking of singing in whistle register when she was little. I had already seen the other video of the same topic she talked of somewhere in Asia. Is anyone obsessed with that part of her voice? I usually rewind those parts. I also like to watch the compilation videos of her high notes.

Lee / intro / HRC vocals / Vegas (50,976) by RJJ12 from USA
Thank you Lee for posting the intro and the performance. If you watch the intro, it explains her present vocal state. For whomever said that Mariah may not be aware of how she sounds, if you watch the intro, you will hear her say "I'm going to get through it tonight because I'm a little horse because I'm working on a new album." So she hasn't gotten any sleep and is back to having all nighters with JD and crew in the studio. This performance is irrelevant to what she is going to sound like in Vegas. Even if she had an amazing performance, if she doesn't get enough rest at least a week prior to the first performance, she isn't going to sound great anyway. It's all up to whether she gets enough rest right before the show and rehearses. I liked that the speech was off the cuff, she went into a personal story and then pulled in human rights. It was a nice speech.

Press (50,975) by Dennis from Underneath the Stars
Press is very judgemental. Somehow "crazy Mariah" prevails in press. Especially after her second marriage. Outsiders believe that was something more suitable for Britney. Since that time public reaction was mostly indiferrent if not worse. If she wins over press she would get everything back. It's a question of time and effort. Regarding glove and weight gain, she had a serious injury. If a nerve was damaged the effect will be painful and longlasting. For years. And during recovery she for sure could't do weight, or any other exercises actually. Just try to live your normal life for a few hours without using any hand.

Ty a knot in it (50,974) by Andrew from UK
Ty, you're right it gets so boring in here. Please do jump in every other month and tell people what Mariah's hair tastes like and call them a goat for not eating it as fast as you. Ah but you've met her? An oracle, you is. [censored], if people want to criticise Mariah, it's their right. They're doing it out of love. Let's just weedle out the "lilly-ass white" ones. "Dear forefathers. Today, Ty is choosing who is a fan and what passes for fandom and I'm scared we won't make the cut. Do help us." What a tit. Ah, but you met her, you never mentioned it. Never. First one to touch Ty gives a shit. [censored] Peace out.

Agree with lamb o chop (50,973) by Ty from USA
It gets so boring with these emotionally [censored] always hating on Mariah's voice. Iit's weird when fans and stans attack the one they have sworn to protect. Yes Mimi's voice has changed and yes she is older and not as hungry. That still doesn't give some of you the right to slander, hurt, call out another human being. Mariah needs to be appreciated now, loved now, not bullied by you so called fans. I've met her multiple times and she is really a beautiful, fragile soul. Don't contine to bash her.

Lee Ts / demos (50,972) by Darryle from USA
That demo you posted just might be real. There was a part 2 added later for the song Someday. Also Mariah posted on twitter: Now playing Hypnotized (my teenage demo version). I don't what demo Hypnotized is for but I think it might be for Someday. If any of the aforementioned demos are on the infamous demo tape then it's likely that Mariah or someone else still has the demo tape which means we might get to hear it someday (pun intended).

Letting go ain't easy (50,970) by Dennis from Underneath the Stars
We all understand that it is impossble "to pose it and make it stay". Thanks to her unfair contract with Sony we have 9 albums from the 90s. Not like many other artists, like Janet or Sade, who had 3 albums in a decade. There is enough material for nostalgia. Anyway, for me MIAM is back to 90's Mariah. Vegas anxiety. Everything is what it is. Not as bad, not as good. I'll wait and see. It is less consuming than guess.

Ben / Andrew (50,969) by Jon from Netherlands
There are other singers? You really believe that? Coming from the States I really don't see any. Pop music can be rather generic. Mariah crosses boundaries and really created something kind of unique specially because you know she writes her own lyrics. It's very powerful and others are a rather empty glass compared to Mariah. Andrew, I loved the last post. You can be repetitive and it eventually gets annoying but as long as you are honest I'll keep appreciating you. I see you have some dependencies on Mariah yourself. Just not blind ones. Not wanting to be personal but now I imagine you had your struggles growing up and Mariah really helped you. It did help us all. Gosh, she really needs to bring back that splendor. We all f****** need it. For good times and bad times. To get through the rain or just to shake it off.

Almost home (50,968) by Dennis from Underneath the Stars
I'm in China since December. YouTube and some Google services are banned. So I cannot watch all those videos and I cannot change my ip for another country for some reason. I can't wait to be able to see and to hear her recent performances.

Andrew (50,967) by Dennis from Underneath the Stars
I agree for 100% about #1s. I'd prefer her music to be great and I'd like Mariah to be honest to herself and do what she really likes not trying to fit in. And I still believe this is not the end of the road. MOIA era was much worse. I hope she will do less movies and more music. A good song could be written in a few hours. It can be polished for months. Or it could be more time consuming. But if it's good it will catch up with a listener and will live a long life. A movie is different. In a song the singer is revealing oneself somehow, but in a movie an actor is pretending to be somebody else. I know it sounds stupid, but I prefer music over movies. Music is more honest. In 3-4 minutes there is no less emotions and life than in a 90 min movie. I hope MC will do less movies and more music.

Correction (50,966) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I meant "great" and not "creative" in my last post. As in Mariah looked great in that black dress.

HRC performance (50,965) by G.G. from USA
I think the performance was ok. It's obvious she can't smoothly transition from note to note the way that she used to. For whatever reason she has lost the ability to effortlessly "float" from note to note and instead chops words into pieces to get where she needs to go vocally. I don't love it, but it's what she's working with now. I've said this before, I don't mind lip synching as long as it's not completely obvious. With her voice as it is now, I doubt she'll ever perform on another talk show like Ellen or David Letterman. There are too many things that could go wrong.

Opninions / Andrew (50,964) by G.G. from USA
Why does everyone want to sensor what other people think and feel? I don't get that. I may not like everything someone says, but that doesn't mean they don't have a right to have their opinion. Everyone targets Andrew for what he says, yet he usually gets a lot of thumbs up for his comments on this message board. There are several members on this board that I don't like. I just skip over their comments and I, usually, never mention them in my posts.
