Harper's Bazaar (54,436)

Is Mariah going to be featured on Harper's Bazaar? I am excited. She posted this photo with Jean Paul Goude and taggged HB on it. She must have been to Paris for an epic photoshoot.

How did I bash you? I asked that you and Baby stop bashing each other because I love you both. I've never disrespected you and never would. Was your name mention with the goats? No it was not.

If I need help, so do you. You come to a message board and complain almost on a daily basis. Randy, the women you work with think Mariah's voice is shot and that she might as well loose the weight and you're always so ashamed or disappointed when MC performs. Sorry not sorry.

Yes, I love that quote. I also love his (Miguel Ruiz) book "The Four Agreements". It would do everyone good to read that book. 1. Be impeccable with your words. 2. Don't take anything personally. 3. Don't make assumptions. 4. Always do your best. Sometimes it's challenging to do but if you continue to strive to do these things it is life changing.

Check you facts Amber, Mottola left Sony (booted out) in 2003. He's not been at Sony in more than 10 years. In fact he started Casablanca records part of the Universal music family, essentially following MC to Universal. Stalkerish.

I've seen more name calling from the so called positive lambs than I've seen from the other side. Now don't start crying when they start hitting below the belt as well. Anyway it's sad that we can't have adult conversations with different opinions without all this nonsense. If you want to believe everything is rosy and peachy in Mariahland then cool. It's your right. If some of us don't like how things are going and we feel the need to criticize, we have that right as well. Either way no side deserves to be attacked for their opinion or should be getting called out their name.

Confrontation (54,430)
by Luke from United Kingdom

None of us are clearly ever going to completely agree with eachother. But why does it get so catty that we end up trying to best the other person in a childish way? I'm going to leave this quote here. "Don't take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering." - Miguel Ruiz

I disagree with your post. Mariah did miss some notes and runs out of breath at times, but not all the time. Most of the time, she has good breath control and maintains good intonation (maintaining pitch). Her problem now is her extra effort at higher notes when done in closed vowels and her belting, while consistently resonant and well-placed, must be polished more esp in the 5th octave. That doesn't mean she needs a break. That's the last thing she needs. Performing more will give you more confidence as well as retraining your vocal cords. It's like preparing for her second comeback. What she needs is just keep practicing with a vocal coach. Because when you take a break from singing, your voice actually regresses a bit. I do agree she should move more and engage the audience more, like the 1995 MSG. Actually I don't think she puts her all in recent performances because her confidence is still wobbly. The key to good singing is just to let go, and it's clear she's not letting go just yet. Taking a break won't cut it. Lighten up lol, critique what needs to be and celebrate what needs to be. You don't have to be uptight all the time to keep things real.

Didn't know we're on a mystery thriller genre board / Marcus (54,428)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Marcus I have seen the personal insults and chose to overlook those. I have seen the Obama Care comments, the comments implying I am below their supposed status (because well of course I am not going to be on the same level as her highness). Loco talk 101 "You're no match for me, and that's not speculation. That's a fact. You're just bitter that I'm not on your team because you know how good I am at what I do." Someone clearly suffers from superiority complex. I am just going to say this again, I find it hilarious that all these came out of me saying "I think Mariah may be upset with what's going on around her." Saying I quoted the Daily Mail to diss Mariah. I mean really? Can't you read? Plus I am the one who has time and again called bullshit on DM's credibility a million times. Child seems to find hidden meanings in everything. Hidden messages Mariah is supposedly sending their way, hidden messages "haters" are supposedly giving out on this board. Someone clearly is seeing a lot of mystery thrillers nowadays so they try to "decipher" everything. Even when it is just a clear cut message. Apparently I failed to find out the "grand scheme" here.

Paris / paparazzi / fans / Mariah (54,427)
by Billy from Greece
| |
|
|
Seeing Mariah not being able to take a walk like a normal person in Paris makes me sympathize with her even more. While the fans that were waiting to take a photo with her supposedly "love" her, I found it striking that they totally neglected Moroccan when he was standing right next to her and all they cared was to capture her with their phones so that they can instagram it. I mean, I understand fan adoration, but I personally have some limits in terms of when I would "chase" her. It's not an event where she's promoting something. It's her personal time. Above all though, the British paparazzo who even dared call her "mommy" asking of her stupendously stupid requests ("Mariah hold the Paris champion 2015") was calling for a punch. Like, for real, show some respect for crying out loud, ask it politely. He was going mad. At the same time, watching Mariah trying to please the fans, the press, and be a "mommy" through all this mess, makes me so angry when she gets trashed around by media or some nobodies in a comments section when in fact she is one of the nicest celebrities out there. Yes, we love to hate on the celebrities. But it is a crazy life and that kind of exposure cannot but damage you to some extent. The paparazzi though, my god. Utterly disgusting behavior. Poor Monroe couldn't handle that mess. Rocky appeared more comfortable.

I would have never gone down that route trust me. You are a great fan and I love how you are positive and defend Mariah without disrespecting others. There is a way to do everything and no one here has the right to name call any of the other posters. I have time and again supported Mariah, defended her, went on and on about her songwriting and musical gift and all. So to call me out disrespectfully just because I said something (which by the way was not anything bad about Mariah, I just said maybe she is sad with how things are going at the label and home). So to call me out so disrespectfully was uncalled for. I am a big Mariah fan, Mariah's music has always been a part of my life. So it hurts me and pisses me off that someone who doesn't even know me suddenly has the guts to say I am not a "real" fan and that maybe I write here to bash her only. Which couldn't be further from the truth. Putting your opinions is one thing (and trust me I love different opinions) but disrespecting and name calling is a whole other thing. I was like really? To quote one part of the message "Some of these posters think they slick when they try to pass of slander as news and scorn as empathy. Now you have them quoting anonymous 'dialogue' on blogs and tabloids as sources." How exactly is it slander when I say Mariah may possibly be sad and where is the scorn coming in? There was absolutely no disrespect towards Mariah. Then to go on and say I am here on a smear campaign. Are people blind? I guess I am dissing Mariah by defending her.

"Baby" or whatever your name is (to paraphrase one of Mariah's lyrics), I don't mind your opinion, it's not important for me. Keep believing everything is everyone's fault but Mariah's and that she is suffering a mysterious career setback and sabotage from outside forces. It's laughable at best. I keep what I said previously. And yes, I'm modest because I don't know Mariah personally, I only try to see the situation with clean eyes and maturity. Bye.

Hmmm? (54,417)

"In the book Mottola writes it was 'absolutely wrong and inappropriate' to become involved with Carey. He writes he's 'truly sorry for any discomfort or pain that all of my good intentions inevitably caused her, and most of all for the scars it left on my two oldest children' from his first marriage. " This is from a Billboard article about Mottola's autobiography. Petals anyone? "For me, to really get out was difficult, " she said. "It was not only a marriage, but a business thing where the person was in control of my life." "And as Mottola himself makes clear in his new memoir, 'Hitmaker', out January 15 - just one day before Carey makes her debut as a judge on "American Idol" - he still claims ownership over his ex." Lol he still claims ownership, so why would Mariah go back to Sony? Doesn't make sense, sorry guys Mariah must be naïve.

B thank you for calling out the goat (54,416)
by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA

Thank you for calling Andrew out for his bipolar mouth he always has. He always has something negative to say and will never try to be positive. I have yet, after a year of commenting on this board, hear him show compassion for Mariah Carey. I was posting here before her residency began and all he could talk about was how much her residency would not do well and how much he agreed with the tabloids. Randy and everyone else you mentioned started comnmenting out of nowhere, added fuel to the fire by abusively calling people out, and then started arguments with people who aren't negative. Then they try to avoid the issue by classifying it as constructive critism and saying they are true fans and we are too nice. Since when did having compassion mean we are too nice and not true lambs? Her true fans aren't 100% constructive all the damn time like these fools constantly act on a daily basis. It's irritating, therefore, I always pay them dust. I limit what I say to them because I don't want these sissies to feel attacked and that their feelings are hurt. If I did respond, it would become personal real quick. They would not like me if I stooped to their level so I don't. You will never see me addressing the irritants on this post but I like it when you and others do. It's fun to see the real lambs like you, Shelly, Abraham, and others keep it real and stilll find a way to see the positives in Mariah Carey.

The genie in a bottle (54,415)
by Marcus from Brazil
| |
|
|
Mariah is a musical genius, not some artist who is trying to find her voice. Many lambs have come to settle for mediocrity from her and it is very sad. I'm not talking about a hit, I'm talking about producing a song that even if it doesn't do well on the charts, at least we can say wow, this song is good, the lyrics are great, even when the lyrics might be fun and stuff. MIAMTEC was full of great songs. If I'm going to be crucified or called a goat for expecting her to deliver quality music, then I'm willing to bleed to death, but I ain't settling for rushed half-cooked uninspired music and performances, and I'm not talking about her voice. "Infinity" is a stain on the new edition of her #1's collection, as simple as that. It wasn't the case with any of the extra tracks of the first #1's. "Infinity loving me more and more", really Mariah? What about "Nearing the edge Obvious I almost Fell right over A part of me Will never be quite able To feel stable That woman-child falling inside Was on the verge of fading Thankfully I Woke up in time" I really hope you wake up in time, again. I can't get in my head that the genius that wrote "Looking In", "Outside", "Close My Eyes" and "Petals" is the same person who wrote "Infinity".

Mimi L. / Thank you (54,414)
by Marcus from Brazil
| |

Mimi L., thanks for addressing that, I don't even know what to call her. It was time somebody said something to that [censored] disguised as a toddler. Some people when desperate or losing an argument usually resort to personal insults or hitting below the belt, like bringing an Obama Care comment as way to put you down, very typical. Miss Toddler really thinks she's lamb royalty from Sweden, look what happened to Regina George. B, you need to read Andrew's last post, you need help. Neither you nor the other nasty bullies here will chase me away, you don't have that power. To state that posters who have different opinions from yours are goats is ridiculousness at its maximum. But as I said, read Andrew's last post "View from a cushion (54,399)", the truth shall set you free.

Can we talk about how lovely Mariah has been looking lately. Yes, the lighting in that restaurant wasn't flattering but do you really think Mariah walks around with a lighting technician 24/7?
