That one Mariah song (55,438) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Most difficult question to answer in this messageboard in quite a while. It's hard enough narrowing them down to 50, let alone just one - that's next to impossible. So I decided to cheat: allow myself at least one upbeat and one downtempo. Upbeat: Fantasy. The original version. Though it may sound a bit dated these days, nothing compares to that giddy feeling this song induces every time it plays. It's a delirious sugar rush - those vocals, those lyrics, the melody, the harmonies, that sample, that remix, that video? This is as good as the highest form of pop music gets. It's up there with other landmark pop songs such as Like A Prayer and Billie Jean. Downbeat: Butterfly. This is Mariah in a song. There is a reason why she herself considers this her best ballad. This is the standard by which other Mariah ballads are measured up to. It has a chorus that soars like no other, and a rousing gospel influence that only Fly Like A Bird can rival or top. One Mariah song (55,437) by Jake from New Zealand Umm. This is really hard. I'm torn between Fantasy, Without You and Vision Of Love. Angels Cry (55,436) by Manny from U.S. For the longest time, "Emotions" was my favorite Mariah song. Then "We Belong Together" took its place. I thought no other song could top it until I heard "Angels Cry", the original. I would choose this song to listen to forever if I had to choose. I have a thing for angels and what they represent. I like imagery of the hurricane, lighting, and walking on a narrow rope. It sounds poetic to me. When I listen to this song, it reminds me of the love of my life. One song and Niki (55,435) by Matty from Vancouver Canada My one song would have to be hands down "Fantasy" with ODB. It is one of the absolute best dance songs ever made in history (up there with the likes of "Thriller" by MJ). The song is timeless and represents the cool, calm and fun Mariah that everyone loves (rather then the uber rich diva that only some of the GP love). I totally agree with you, Niki. When Mariah just does Mariah and lets her creativity flow without trying to achieve something specific, it's magic. I honestly feel we had the new "Fantasy"/"Heartbreaker" in "You Don't know What to Do". That song was meant to be a number one. Timeless, fun, with amazing and level vocals, your three year old would love it just as much as your grandma. It should have been the second single after #Beautiful and helped launch the album when it dropped. Imagine that. No "You're Mine" or "Thirsty". 1 Mariah song (55,434) by Bill from the UK Well this is nigh on impossible for me to answer. I've been sitting here going through her catalogue thinking about which one song I would choose. So many come to my mind, but I think it would be All I Want For Christmas Is You. Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without it. It has so many great memories for me, everyone across the globe loves it, it has one of her most committed and dynamic vocal performances ever, and it will probably be the one song of hers that people will remember her for, long after her and our time in this world is over. Combined with those epic videos. Mariah if you're listening, make it happen. Leave the Migrate 2.0 or 3.0 (since we got Thirsty) behind. I like "Migrate" but I love "Heartbreaker" and "Fantasy" more. All the colors of the wind (55,429) by nikki from usa They called the wind Mariah. I've noticed how a lot of older artists like Barbra are killing it in sales which got me to thinking about MC's turn of events. I think what's interesting about songs like WBT and #B is that they're a return to form for what Mariah's mega audience has known her for. They're straight forward vocal pieces with sincere/witty lyrics and great beats. What we really haven't had in awhile from MC is another Honey/Hearbreaker/Fantasy. Mariah has never followed trends. She does best in the realms of emotions and fantasy, ironically, I'm not referring to the singles. Mariah's "sales" audience are the people that like her big voiced ballads or pop dance music. In a way, WBT brought back the balladeer and #Beautiful brought back her slow jam. I think the main problem with Infinity is MC tried to acknowledge something she didn't want to talk about so she tried to make it funny. She had innovation and wit then tried to make it an epic ballad with vocals at the end. It was so all over the place it didn't mesh with any audience. Mariah "tried". That's the problem. She does best when things come to her naturally. If she adds natural to her "return to form" then I think she can still have major hits. It just boils down to if she wants to do that or not. I would like 1 more ballad with JD. ABMB and WBT were airplay hits for a reason, but I'd like her to work with someone new for up-tempos. (Thursday 23 July 2015; 22:12)

Only 1 MC song (55,417) by Ardis Logic from Earth If you had to pick only 1 song of Mariah's to listen to the rest of your life, what song would that be? I know this is a very hard choice, but it's fun. I would have to say that I would want to hear "Daydream Interlude (Fantasy Sweet Dub Mix)" from the Daydream album for the rest of my life. I have always gone back to the song, and I never get tired of it. It gives me a feeling like I am free. It feels so positive and sexy. It has beautiful high notes in it, and just has an awesome vibe about it. I love that song so much. I will probably change my mind later but as of now that is the song I would pick. Ok your turn. I also never understood why they didn't work together a lot more or why they never did a duet. I need a proper duet. Not just him singing background for her or her singing background for him. MV "Vision of love" v3? (55,415) by Warrior Butterfly from USA I was on discogs.com and ran across something intriguing under the VOL tab: Vision Of Love (version 3) ?(Umatic, single, promo, PAL) I opened the tab and what looks like a VHS has a label on it that reads: Columbia Records Mariah Carey "Vision Of Love" Version 3 MC-VOL-V3-S-061190 3:34 #1505822DS 6/18/1990 Makes me wounder if the date printed is when it was supposed to primer. I googled the address for fun and I can't tell if that is where VOL might have been filmed or maybe the building had different life and used to be a editing company. Here's the link.
