Patti and MC? (53,642) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
I don't know if there is any bad feeling between them but I remember Patti once saying she doesn't drinks and doesn't like champagne and that Mariah kept on sending her bottles and bottles of it and jokingly asked her to please stop sending her alcohol. I gues it was on The Wendy Williams Show. Maybe Mariah didn't like those comments. Maybe I read too much as well between lines. On another matter, it is funny to me that MC says she co-wrote I Don't Wanna Cry with Narada when it's pretty well known the song was written by Walter A., and that that song was the reason why Walter called it quits with Narada (because Narada "stole" the song and gave Wallie no credit). Walter even mentioned he wrote it in LA while MC was in NY with Tommy recording the vocals to it. After that, Tommy offered Walter the opportunity to start as a solo writer and producer if he would be able to write a monster-hit-song for Mariah in just two days and so he wrote Love Takes Time and Tommy was so impressed by his work and asked MC to get into the studio and lay the vocals and stopped the printing of the album to now include it as the 11th track and also hired him to write primarly for Mariah and other grade A acts from Sony. Mariah tends to always ignore Walter since 1997 which to me is pretty sad. Anyway, great song no matter if MC doesn't acknowledges Walter for all of his hard work for her.

My top 3 number ones (53,641) by George Golden from UK
1. Hero - Her signature song. The song that made her a megastar. Need I say more?
2. We belong together - Her comeback track and my, what a comeback.
3. One sweet day - The longest running number one single in history. The way her voice blends with the boys was just heaven.

Top 3 #1s (53,640) by Will from England
#1 Without You - A UK #1 so I'm including it in my list. This was the very first Mariah Carey song that I ever heard. And it still bewitches me every time. Her vocals and her runs are perfect, and I'm still left in awe whenever I hear it.
#2 Don't Forget About Us - I love the background vocals on this song, they're so hypnotic. Also, I love the sass she puts into the little rap, then all the belting and high notes that follow.
#3 Touch My Body - This was released around the time I really began to discover Mariah's catalogue, and finding out who she was as a singer and songwriter. I began to connect with her, her story, her lyrics and it began a healing process for me. Also, it holds special memories around that time that I fondly remember. So, not the actual song, but what it represents for me.

My top 3 favorite #1's (53,637) by Dove from USA
Fantasy - She's living in the video. Doing fun stuff we should all do while we're still young enough to do it. After Dreamlover, Hero, and AYNAF I didn't think she could come out with anything better but then she blew us all away with Fantasy. It's such a happy, feel-good song. I love it.
One Sweet Day - This one reminds me of my ex. I thought we would always be together and I took him for granted and now he's gone. Then the other part reminds me of how I feel about God. "Knowing and feeling you're hearing me, it keeps me alive", "I know you're shining down on me from heaven", "and I know eventually we'll be together." 2014 was a dark year for me and my husband leaving me was like an eclipse that wouldn't let the light get to me. I had to remind myself the light was still there.
Vision Of Love - It gives me life. The lyrics and her voice move me, especially when I think about it being how she felt when she finally became a recording artist. She had a vision for her life, and even though she was going through her own struggles, she believed it would happen for her and it did. It inspires me to stay strong and always believe in my dreams and in myself. My favorite lines are, "And now I know I've succeeded, in finding the place I'd conceived" and "I realized the dream, and I visualized the love that came to be, feel so alive, I'm so thankful that I've received the answer that heaven has sent down to me." The universe moved Heaven and Earth to make it happen for her.

Prediction (53,636) by Eternal from Italy
Someone will start lamenting these lists lambs love to do. It can get tedious when the lists are too long and repetitive but when it's just 3 of her 18 #1s it can be fun. It's interesting to know how a certain song can mean something special to someone, and since most of us have grown up with MC's songs, it's like a trip down memory lane. Mine goes:
1. I Don't Wanna Cry - I don't think Mariah appreciates the beauty of this song and its mature lyrics. How could she have written this at age 20? I've been learning to play this on piano and those chord progressions just get me each time.
2. Love Takes Time - Her live performances of this song and its whistle climax are everything.
3. My All - Does this even need a reason why?

Vegas show (53,635) by Ty from USA
I've thought about this show since I saw it on May 16th, while I thank mr. P for the upgraded front row seats. It's my least favorite show of Mariah's. I've seen Mariah "on" and she appeared bored with these songs. Her stylist should be fired for the two ill fitting pink dresses. The lamb sitting next to us said, Mariah's longest show and she has to have help walking, leaves the stage after every song. It was just ok.

My top 3 favorite MC #1's of all time (53,634) by Ardis Logic from Earth
We Belong Together - When the album came out I bought it on the first day. As soon as I heard this song it gave me chills. I knew that it would be a #1 hit. It remains one of my most favorite songs Mariah has ever released.
Always Be My Baby - I connect with this song on a very personal level. It's almost like it was written to describe my life.
Dreamlover - This song and video totally made me fall in love with Mariah even more than I already was. I love this song so much, I still play this song quite often.

Infinity (53,633) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
In 5 days, "Infinity" will celebrate completing one month. So where's the video at boo? Ugh. Torture.

Ardis / umbrella holder (53,632) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha Ardis I agree. She has an umbrella holder, a chewing gum holder (she takes out the gum and hands it to them), one person to adjust her boob tape, one person to fix her straw so she can drink. These are apart from the hair team and the makeup team and bodyguards. It is funny, I wonder what a life like that feels like.

The infamous "umbrella holder" (53,631) by Ardis Logic from Earth
I wonder how much Mariah pays her umbrella holder per hour? I saw the pictures of MC at Disney. Her umbrella girl does not look too happy. Seriously, does Mariah really need someone to hold an umbrella over hear head? I think it's a little too much. A little sun might actually do some good. Oh well that's Mariah for you.

Top 3 #1's (53,630) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This is hard. But I'll give it a go.
1. Heartbreaker: I love everything about it, the vibe of the song, the vocals, the music, the cute dances Mariah pulls, the ending chorus overlapped with the whistles. I adore the remixes of Heartbreaker (by which I mean the DJ Clue Remix and the "Heartbreaker/If you should ever be lonely" remix).
2. We Belong Together: I hate to put this as my second favorite, because honestly this song means a lot to me, but oh well. This song is pure perfection to be. Her vocals, you can hear the yearning, the video is gorgeous, the Desert Storm remix was hot tamale.
3. My All: Another great song. I have previously written a whole post about why I think this song is out of this world amazing and how the video completely complements the vibe of the song. The remix with "Stay Awhile" was one of the best remixes Mariah came up with.

Top 3 #1s (53,629) by Pablo from Spain
1. Fantasy. I remember being in 8th grade and hearing a new song on the alarm clock radio, racing to the kitchen to listen to it on there, and knowing it was Mariah. Love at first listen with it.
2. My All. Not one of her more famous ones, but I love it all the same. I had goosebumps when I heard her perform it live in 2003.
3. Vision of Love/Someday. Two great songs that tied. We Belong Together would be 4 probably.
My fave Mariah songs, however, are Breakdown and Side Effects. Sweetheart, another one of my faves (I have at least 100 fave Mariah songs I think) was filmed where I live now, Bilbao, by the way. When I moved here, I went looking for the places seen in the video.

Top 3 #1's (53,628) by Jake from New Zealand
1. Fantasy. This is my favorite Mariah song too. I love everything about it. The opening instrumental, the whistle, the sho-do-do-do-do-do-do's, the lyrics and the whole vibe of the song. I think the video captured the essence of the song and how fun it really is.
2. Vision Of Love. Easily one of the best debut singles of all time. The lyrics showed Mariah's maturity as a songwriter and the vocals are out of this world. Like so many critics have already said, it really is the holy grail of melisma. Also, this song never ceases to lift me up when I'm sas.
3. Always Be My Baby. Everyone loves this song. Even non lambs who don't like Mariah love this song. The production is great and this is a quite possibly the catchiest song MC's ever realeased.

Top three #1's (53,627) by KeShawn Taylor from United States
It is so hard to select my top three. So many of them hold dear special places to my heart for different reasons. But if I had to absolutely choose.
#1) Dreamlover - Dreamlover will always be the song for me that made be a lamb. I was two years old when the song came out and my family still has videos of me running to the tv when it came on and dancing to the video. It began my infatuation. Since then I have been the die hard lamb that I am today. I will always hold a special place in my heart for this song.
#2) We Belong Together - I was in the eighth grade and I didn't really understand how much of decline Mariah's career was in until I saw how large of an impact The Emancipation Of Mimi was making. We Belong Together was a statement not just for Mariah, but for the Lambily. I wore this song out everyday and still I do to this very day.
#3) My All - It was so hard for me choosing between this and a few others that I'll list in my honorable mention. My All has to be my all time favorite Mariah ballad, sorry WBT. It's just so raw yet she opens it up with such restraint. It took me to go through heartbreak to realize how real this song was (and Breakdown). The spanish guitar made this one even better and I love the diva's live performance of this. The David Morales Remix and So So Def Remix are stone winners as well.
Honorable mentions (so close): Vision Of Love, Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, Honey (that video).

The future (53,626) by KeShawn Taylor from United States
As a lamb, this has been an exciting time. I continue to hear "Infinity" on the radio. The BBMA performance in my opinion was well, but the Kimmel performance was amazing. I think the music video needs to drop ASAP and Mariah needs to get on some more promo the entire month of June heading into July's shows, which I'm proud to say I will be attending. I know we all know Mariah isn't one to lie down and not give her all when folks count her out. MIAMTEC makes her top five in my opinion and due to label issues, it didn't get the success it deserves. Mariah will put her all into this next project and be sure to leave a statement as we are closing in on this new chapter of her career. I am actually excited about this new Christmas movie and string of shows. I saw her in December last year and it was amazing. If executed effectively, there's no reason why this movie (whenever it drops), doesn't propel both Merry Christmas and All I Want For Christmas Is You to the top of the charts respectively giving her a seventh number one album and nineteenth number one single. If those accomplishments don't cement her continuous legacy towards the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, I don't know what will.

Current happenings (53,625) by KeShawn Taylor from United States
There's been a lot going on as of late so I felt it would be the perfect time to address a lot of them. For starters, I want to tackle the promotions concerns I know a lot of people have been having. One thing we have to keep in mind is prior to this week, it's near impossible for Mariah to adequately promote the new single with her being stationed in Las Vegas for the residency. They are very demanding. With the May leg of the shows ending this week, I believe we will see more of Mariah to come beginning next week. This week alone Mariah has been everywhere. I think the L.A. Reid interview was interesting. I think he hits some valid points. For artists of the caliber of Mariah and Madonna, it is difficult to remain in the top tier of the charts with music constantly evolving and both attempting to stay true to their roots. While I doubt it is impossible for Mariah for to receive her 19th number one single, it is going to be more difficult. She will need to reinvent her sound and work with more "hip" writers and producers. The perfect chance for that would've been 2013. That summer was to be the year of Mimi. #Beautiful was definitely on the heels of being a top ten single before things fell apart. The age of "real pure" music just isn't sufficing to airwaves anymore. Even Kelly Clarkson had a difficult time this year. For the first time in a long time, Mariah is in a good place image wise to the public. Promotion has been there and her interviews and performances aswell.

Favorite #1s (53,624) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
1) Vison Of Love set the tone perfectly. I credit this as the greatest vocal performance of all time by a female artist, and one of the best songs in pop music history.
2) Love Takes Time. The perfect follow up to VOL, such a tender love sick ballad that perfectly capture the emotion of the lyrics vocally. I'm still not over this song.
3) Someday (New Jack Swing Version), just for the nostalgia. It completely brings me back to that era and manages to still be a timeless classic to this day.

Unconditional love for Mariah (53,623) by Victor from Spain
Hello everyone. I'm new on this messageboard/forum. Actually, I'm glad I finally found a nice site where I can talk to more lambs. I just wanted to say that I do love Mariah since I was 3 years old, I used to sing her songs and trying to make that flawless whistle sound she has. My favorite song is Through The Rain. I'm obsessed with ''Infinity'' can't stop listening to it, my iTunes is gonna blow up. I can't wait until the video is released.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (53,622) by B from USA
Surely, Mariah Carey will be inducted in the Hall of Fame. What do you guys think? I think her voice is enough alone to warrant a nomination. Add to that her achievements and her talent as a songwriter and producer and she's a shoe in.

For the record (53,621) by Warren from Trinidad & Tobago
I think it's all a move by L. A Reid despite how some media outlets are twisting it. I totally love the new way she is handling interviews, be it print or TV and I see a long term plan in place, not to get #1 now or with Infinity. Re-branding takes time, especially in a fickle industry like the music industry. One final note, does anyone remember Believe? #1 in 23 countries re-establishing Cher at age 52. Right song, right time, right promotion and it can happen. I am not worried. Even if there are no more #1's as long as MC releases good music and performs well I am totally happy, and we all (real lambs) should be too.

#1's top three (53,620) by NHYTG from nyc
#1 My All, the ultimate Mariah Carey ballad, will never ever bore me. That video, those remixes, all perfect.
#2 Honey, at the time I never expected this kind of song from Mariah, I was wowed, made me an even bigger fan. So sexy but so classy. Reminds me how I got the chance to buy Butterfly before its release date, how I fell in love with this album and still am.
#3 Someday, although I already knew Vision Of Love and Love Takes Time this song made me a fan. I remember hearing it on the radio for the first time and how I was completely blown away by it. Too bad it's not on the European version of #1 To Infinity, and one of the reasons I prefer the US edition.

#1's (53,619) by Lee TS from USA
1. Dreamlover - Her voice is like butter. So sugary. So pretty. So innocent.
2. Fantasy - The song that made me a fan. Timeless. Video is super festive and all about a good time. Probably one of her most sexiest without even trying.
3. We Belong Together - Song that saved her life. Video is perfection and like a mini movie.

Top 3 #1s (53,618) by Bill from the UK
This is incredibly hard to do. Can I do a top 18 instead? Lol. This will no doubt change the more I think of it, but I'm going to go with:
1. Fantasy - Released at the height of my giddy teenage love for her, I was pumped when this was released and completely wowed by it, and its incredible remixes. Not only did it pioneer a whole genre, but it still, twenty years later, is one of her greatest compositions.
2. Without you - I know it wasn't a US #1 but this is the first Mariah song I bought (cassette single) and it started a collection of thousands of CDs, cassettes and vinyl. I love her rendition of this song.
3. Vision of love - The first and fairest of them all. No debut single will ever match just how perfect of an introduction this was. The unsuspecting public at the time heard what would go on to be the voice of a generation, inspiring thousands and thousands of singers both professional and hobbyists afterwards. It showcased all her range, her technique, and sheer stamina as a singer. She made a grand entrance into the music world and I don't think any debut single will ever top it.

#1's (53,617) by B from USA
1. Fantasy. The song that introduced me to Mariah Carey.
2. Honey. The video is epic. She was finally able to be herself. Fun and sexy.
3. Don't Forget About Us. The lyrics.

What are your top 3 favorite #1s and why? (53,616) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
As a way of celebrating Mariah's
1) 25 years in the biz,
2) latest single,
3) newest compilation,
4) Vegas residency,
5) divorce (yes, I went there),
6) new label for doing great so far in terms of support,
7) kickass recent interviews,
8) overall rejuvenated vibe,
9) great live performances,
10) unparalleled legacy,
can we all bask in this festive mood by stating our top 3 #1s? Mine are:
1) Fantasy
2) Honey
3) Heartbreaker
I see these 3 as the holy trinity of lead singles, as they best exemplify Mariah's smooth transition from R&B/pop to hip-hop to urban sounds. What are yours?
