I'm surprised you think I'm a sweetheart. After posting about "Infinity" I starting feeling bad because I thought maybe I bashed Mariah or was putting her down. What happened to not wanting that to become a gimmick (she said that in 1991). I did like the Hero high full belt voice note. Listen, I think it's wonderful Mariah has that octave. I just hate that people use that as her being able to sing. If that was what it took to be a singer, then Chante Moore, Rachelle Farrell and Shanice would be superstars. Lee TS / Marcel (52,977) by 123 from USA Lee, if all artists that were inspired by Mariah would show up, the auditorium would be full. Why did you choose those two, those are messy choices. Why not Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Britney? Marcel, please don't say things like, Mariah doesn't like any younger artists that can sing. She only doesn't like artist that bite her style like Christina did in the beginning and Ariana. Mariah has given props to many younger vocalists like Beyoncé, Candace Glover, and Kelly Clarkson whom Mariah said that Kelly's covers of her songs sound better than Mariah's. If it's over performances (52,976) by 123 from USA So the SNL one is overall the best one partially because she sung the whole song but the Grammy performance had the better almost inhuman ending that was just perfection. It's missing the second verse but she made up for it for turning those vocals out and I prefer the live versions of that song than the pristine clear studio version. All the soulful singing in the live versions with those growls, I prefer her singing that way over the clear pristine vocals on songs that lean more towards pop. I miss the soulful songs of her first two albums, even those the MOR pop album Music Box is her top seller worldwide. (Thursday 7 May 2015; 3:57)

This is qhm / All That (52,975) by 123 from USA I don't even care for Carly's music as pop especially today's pop is disposable microwave hits. All That really surprised me and I loved the production. I heard it on Tidal. I've been checking out Tidal and finding a lot of new music that I probably wouldn't have come across on my own. I love your write ups, you sound very intelligent. I've been wanting Mariah to get with Mark Ronson to do some old school-a la Amy Winehouse type of songs. (Thursday 7 May 2015; 3:46)

Mariah mania (52,974) by B from USA Epic and Sony, LA Reid, Chris Chambers, Brian Sher and Stella Bulochnikov of the Chambers Group, and Mariah is a team to be reckoned with. Infinity is debuting on Billboard's Hot 100 this week, her funny or die skit, the Billboard performance, and the leaked audios. This era feels epic. Slay, Mariah, slay. She really wants her throne back and for her critics to eat Frito pie. (Thursday 7 May 2015; 3:35)

LTT / audio / Mimi L (52,973) by 123 from USA Mimi L, LTT is one of my all time faves from her. The song is such a standout track from a discography of great songs and with Mariah, that's hard to. I am going to Vegas to hear that song specifically. That bridge, I used to rewind that part over and over. Those clips of LTT and Someday not only sounded live, but really good. It just proves my theory right that she just hasn't been disciplined enough to care for her fragile yet complicated voice and range. I can't wait to go see her in July. (Thursday 7 May 2015; 3:29)

She sounds so good. We'll hopefully get more clips of songs so you can tell me what you think of the singing parts. Abraham, like Orkun said, I am happy to see the new you. Really you were always a sweetheart, but it's nice to see you are being critical too. Haha I know it sounds weird (I mean since when is that good) but I hope you know what I mean. When I saw you post something negative after the release of "Infinity", I actually did a double take, like wait a minute, is uber positive Abraham criticizing MC. I hope this message doesn't come out wrong, I'm just trying to say I respect your opinion and the fact that you don't blindly fall for everything MC releases is something I can respect. No one is perfect, so MC is no exception. I just have more respect for people who know can weigh in on the good and bad. Orkun (52,965) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Haha Orkun dahlin' you are such a sweetheart, you made me chuckle out loud at the fashion advice-vocal coach trade. And you know I am all up for it. I am officially taking you on as my vocal coach and I will try to give a run through of the fashion to the best of my ability. Now about her dresses. I'd say overall she is doing great. I absolutely loved the black dress fishtail dress she is wearing in all the interview clips surfacing at Vegas. No one can pull off a fish tail dress (especially with a wider frame) like Miss Carey does. She just looks beautiful in them. The dress along with that hair is perfection. I also loved the little number she wore for the Michael Strahan interview. Fits her really well. Now for her stage costumes, I love this number here because it looks super flattering on her. What I am not sure about yet is the pink number she wore. The photos are hazy, so I'll have to wait until more HQ photos comes out after the show today. I'd really like her to wear less of the full length gowns though, because that is so 2013-14 Mariah. She has great legs so she should show them off more. I also love how in the GMA interview and in the Funny or Die sketch, her boobs are more covered and so we can all focus on her other gorgeous features. That gazillion dollar face and them billion dollar legs. The wetsuit throwback for Honey, now no matter how much I tell MC to dress her age (and size), I am loving the wetsuit and her bringing the jet ski on the stage. Wa.. wa...wa.. wait a second (52,964) by Orkun from The Netherlands The TMZ audio seems live to me. Finally I'm not falling for the other "live" singing. No way. But this sounds live to the core. The whistle, she covered perfectly. Not just covered, but finally (for me at least) with emotion. Now crossing fingers for the singing parts. The whistles are cool, but not my thing anymore. Just like falsettos, it's too much for my ear. As most of you know, Mariah has been very hard for me to enjoy for a while. To me, "Beautiful" was her most recent peak and that song is a global classic and I am sure time will prove this. I got chills while listening to the TMZ medley today. And that hasn't happened to me for a while. It reminded me of the determination she had when she sang VOL in Jamaica. Not the whole song but the whistle she put out there. That part was live and from the heart. All the previous "in your face she sings live" moments are dubbed. So the TMZ video is the one to use, if one wants to express that type of attitude. (Even the "Happy Birthday" in the shower is dubbed btw.) I can't believe how amazing she sounds on this TMZ thing. Ps: Abraham, you know I am fully on your side and gained more respect for you. Mimi L, about her dresses this era. I need your opinion. I never ever had problems with her weight gain or loss. But her dresses? Not sure. You, I can trust. You know, I talk music. But fashion. Re: Baby (52,960) by Jono from USA I completely agree. It's the same reason why Mariah does not get the same respect as a Paul McCartney does. The fact that she's a woman of color, some people just can't accept the unbelievable influence she's had in pop and r&b. I mean people don't even know that the guest rapper was first done by Mariah, as it's been a consistent trend the past two decades. Also don't even get me started on everything that the public did wrong when it came to the Janet/Justin scandal. It gets me so worked up just thinking about it. But on to happier things. I am blown away by how Mariah sounds in rehearsals. What I really respect about Mariah is that she always lets her music do the talking. No need to do ridiculous stunts for attention, unlike her peers. Concerning the divorce, she answered it in MIAM and Infinity. Concerning her voice, she's answering it with this Vegas show.
