enwar00 / Christmas (48,487) by Edward from USA
enwar00, I'll definitely be going to one of the Christmas concerts. I don't think she'll tour the US with "The Elusive Chanteuse", so this is it. It's going to be refreshing to hear her sing Christmas songs. I think that other than "AIWFCIY", she'll be tapping more into the second Christmas album, her present voice is more suitable for it.

UK mag does a funny article on Mariah (48,486) by John john from UK

Divorce cancelled (48,485) by christine from USA
I think the article is a bunch of bull. The reasons they give for Nick wanting to get back with Mariah I just can't believe. I could see him saying he doesn't want the kids growing up in a broken home, so that would make sense. I am hopeful they will work things out and reconcile simply because I enjoy them as a couple and enjoyed the family pics they would always post. I've been so sad for them since their separation. Happy Holidays to everyone.

Divorce plans (48,483) by Luis from Spain
Nick did not deny his separation when he was asked early this week. I guess that the article is just cheap gossip.

I'm sorry but I have to (48,482) by B from USA
I listened to Bey's self titled album and it's awful. People are questioning Mariah and letting Bey slide after releasing that train wreck. No wonder she did that surprise release, if people had the chance to hear it they wouldn't have bought it. And radio is playing her songs and her videos look cheaper than You're Mine (Eternal). If the public had heard Mariah latest it would have outsold Bey's. I guess being Jay Z's wife has its perks. I miss the old Bey who wrote catchy songs and didn't try to be Rhianna for sales. Just saying. MIAMTEC is way better than Beyoncé.

Tabloid gossip (48,481) by B from USA
Does anyone believe the article that says Nick is considering getting back with Mariah because of her bank balance and that she'll take him back knowing that? Nick was a D-List celeb before Mariah.

Al I want is a US tour (48,477) by B from USA

The Elusive Chanteuse Show revenue (48,476) by 123 from USA
Does anyone know how much this tour grossed? I would think that Mariah made a pretty penny off of this tour. While other artists spend an arm and a leg on production, elaborate sets, and costly performance numbers, Mariah keeps it simple. It just shows her genius as a business woman. Instead of spending all this money on distractions, she keeps the focus on her voice, whether it's in good or bad shape and pockets the rest. She doesn't need a lot of stage hands and basically just has a band, some back up dancers, and jumbo screens. At first I thought it was a bad idea for her to go on tour, but I'm glad she did. She got to work on her voice and stage presence again and visited places she has never been. I'm sure her fans in those venues loved it.

Baby / Benny Medina manager idea (48,475) by 123 from USA
Thanks Baby for the welcome back. It's great that we can all rally for Mariah. After seeing worst performances from Japan to her slowly but surely get better after every show, she had performing really well and regained like 75% of her voice. Of course she still played it safe but when she did go for the notes, she landed a lot of them. She just had a bad day and was fine in her mid range. At least it was live and rather an honest performance than a lipped one. I was reading your posts and I can say, you are a true Sequoia in the name of Mariah and I love it. Benny Medina as her manager? No way. He was good while the focus was on Mariah's voice and music (Return of The Voice promo) but then started marketing her like JLo in 08 having her plastered all over the tabloids about her quickie marriage when the focus should have been on the solid piece of work that was E=MC2. She had the right music for that era and that should have been pushed the most. JLo's music isn't doing well either and sold less than Mariah this year with all that promo so I don't believe Benny is the right manager for her.

AIWFCIY #50 (48,474) by enwar00 from usa
Guess who's got the second highest charting Christmas song this week? Looks like all that hate last week helped the song reenter Billboard's Hot 100. I love it.

Edward (48,473) by enwar00 from usa
Yes, it is a great song. Thanks again to Nikki for posting. But hold up though, that's probably the only MC song I hadn't heard, and I stand by my other cuts. No, I am not a fan of My Love. 100% is just eh to me. And the other two I feel are inferior to the original solo versions. Are you going to the Christmas show?

Welcome back RJJ12 (48,472) by Mara from United States
It's good to see you on her again. Your insight has been missed. On a side note I had to share some MC news with you guys. When the tickets for the NYC shows went on sale I was online for both presales and got nothing. I have mentioned my birthday is Christmas Eve and my husband knows what a real fan I have always been that he went on Stubhub and got us tickets. Well, when I saw what he paid and the actual row we were in (W), I didnt want to sound ungrateful and I was just happy to be there so I would never say a thing to him. To make a long story short, our tickets came today along with a note saying they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a lower row. I was beyond thrilled. We are now in row D lower orch. So if anyone else is there, that's where we'll be along with my 7 year old daughter who is a huge lamb and Roc & Roe fan. So excited for these shows and hope she has a few surprises on store. I only hope she isn't over doing it. Just had to share that with fellow true fans.

Comeback (48,471) by Darryle from USA
It looks as though everyone is gearing up for Mariah to make a comeback, Mariah included. I'm excited to see what she has planned for the lambily within the next year. Hopefully it's a big selling album and a #1 single.

Dennis, B and the Merry Christmas musical (48,470) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Will Mariah use any ideas from her Christmas themed musical project for Broadway during these shows? That's a very good question Dennis. Maybe Mariah is actually preparing for Broadway with these back to back performances at the Beacon Theatre? It would explain why she thinks nothing of adding two consecutive dates just based on the high demand for tickets. Well done, you might have just cracked the code. Now, B is also right to worry, Broadway is a sport in many ways. But because of the nature of a Christmas musical being really only doable late November-December it wouldn't be quite as grueling. Mariah proved she only gets better with practice on TECS so I have no doubt she can pull it off brilliantly. Also, she would get to sleep at home amid humidifiers galore. I'm sure she would deck out whichever venue she ends up at with humidifiers etc. in her dressing-room. Also, Broadway is about the ensemble cast, so Mariah wouldn't have to carry the show all alone. Wow, if this turns out to be true beyond speculation, It's a surefire hit. Mariah would end up with a at least a Tony nomination, she's a great writer after all. But I really look forward to her comedic acting. I've decreed that this has to happen now. In fact it's all I want for Christmas. Someone tweet Marc Shaiman, he has to be Mariah's partner in this. Sweet Jesus, make it happen.

Pretty bad year (48,469) by Jamie from UK
I adore Mariah however I'm realistic, this has been a bad year professionally and privately. I hope she learns from the negative outpouring that she realises she needs to refocus take it back to basics. People are tired of the divaness and craziness, it's not working anymore. What need Mariah who makes great music, gives 100% to the promo/dist of the music, who is not acting crazy in public and not looking like a wax work on the cover of the album. You were so cool when you didn't care so much about your appearance. You always looked good, why feel the need to be perfection it's taking away from music? What happened after E=MC2, your last great album? You seamed focused in this period. After E=MC2 I found you changed. I'll always buy your music, unfortunately this last album hasn't worked due to lack of promotion/delay. The last thing I expected was a tour from this album, promotion alone would have been a better choice. My advice, take it on the chin, remove yourself from the limelight for a while, come back with a killer album and a radio hit. Reverse the negativity surrounding you by forgetting the things I said, they aren't working Stand up for your career, you are Mariah. Show the voice again, that's all people want. Remind them why they fell in love with the innocent shy girl with that amazing voice. Your MTV interview for Butterfly. You were more trendy here but controlled and focussed. That MC is what we want. I hope Mariah reads this. I do care about her and I want her to succeed again.

Welcome back RJJ12 (48,468) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
It was about time too. I can't believe you managed a whole month without the internet, bravo for that alone. About your observation that the board is slightly different than a month ago: I think more lambs showed up and showed out because of the Rockefeller event to defend Mariah because she was being treated so unfairly in the media, social or otherwise. Not to mention on YouTube, other forums as well as message boards across the internet. Of course, the haters that be stayed loyal to their cause of bashing Mariah at all costs, so naturally they rejoiced over all the negative attention. But like you so keenly pointed out there has been a lot more good, uplifting posts drowning out the bad than the other way around. It's why I tried to list all the positive lambs but had to give up midway because we were just that many. That put things back into perspective for me. Love is all around. Happy Christmas everyone.

Re: Live album (48,451) (48,466) by Dove from USA
Darryle, I agree. I've always hoped a high quality CD of Mariah's best live performances would be released. I really like her Stevie Wonder cover of You And I and how she sounded singing Without You in the 1996 Tokyo concert. Also love the live versions of Hero and One Sweet Day that were included on the singles.

Mariah (48,465) by B from USA
The last time Mariah's talent and status was in question she created The Emancipation. I think she'll create a masterpiece. Plus her last divorce inspired Butterfly and she didn't have children with Tommy. She's going to slay everyone like she did in 2005. Mark my words. The haters will be kissing her a$$.

Best manager for MC - Benny Medina (48,463) by ADAM from USA
Does anyone else think that Benny Medina was the best manager and mastermind behind the enormous success of TEOM? I think Benny probably left Mariah because she became unmanageable and erratic. The man is very talented and does wonders for JLo. I think if you put personal feelings aside, the magic he's worked for JLo career is amazing. The woman is also visible and is in high regard in the public's mind of someone who is very likable, fashionable, and multi-talented. I think if Mariah reeled in her diva persona and projected more her Long Island-ness, that she would still be likable and forgivable in the masses eyes. I know JLo and Mariah offer 2 distinct talents but I'm referring to the way they are both marketed to the public. During TEOM era, Mariah was tastefully styled by June Ambrose, her performances were on-point and live and her persona was serious. She was still MC but she wasn't this loose cannon that warbles on and on about nonsense and lighting.

I think that would be nice as well for her next album even, take time off to some voice lessons to better support her voice and work with some really great producers.

My wish (48,461) by Leito from USA
My wish for MC, forget about the glitz and glamour for one day. Forget the extensions, make-up, the ensemble. Instead, use the time to do necessary vocal warm-up. I want her to do a surprise stripped-down performance on an award show, or popular talk show. No dubbing, no pre-recorded vocals, no big production and no over-powering back-up singers. Just shut the mutha******* s**t down. Unfortunately, until then, she will not get much respect (as a singer) from the general public. Some lambs will say, "She doesn't have anything to prove anymore." I beg to differ. Obviously, MC still wants to stay in the game. She is still young enough to have more hits and more success. Call me selfish, I don't want all of MC's records to be broken by any of these younger and less-talented pop starlets. It's time for a reinvention. I don't think this is much to ask for. I feel the general public's perception keeps some of her best work from seeing the light of day. There have been too many missed opportunities. Sadly now, people only know MC as a mediocre, stiff singer. Not to forget the low-budget productions and outdated choreography. Now, before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm a loyal fan. I have spent lots of money supporting MC since VOL (1990). Someone needs to keep it 100 and not be like the people currently surrounding her. Look what happened when MC brought Benny Medina into the picture. The best-selling album of 2005, TEOM.

Merry Christmas musical (48,460) by B from USA
I remember when that was mentioned. I think Benny was the man behind that idea. I think Mariah realized she was too young to do a seasonal show. Maybe in 5 or 10 years from now. Mariah can act, she's proven that and everybody knows she can sing. My only problem is Broadway shows are daunting. Three of four performances a day/night. Her voice is too fragile for that. If she is going to do it she should do one show a week.

Tommy (48,459) by B from USA
Mariah and Tommy were separated when she began seeing Derek. Technically they were still married but I don't think it's cheating. Like Rachel and Ross from Friends, they were on a break, lol.

Christmas shows (48,458) by Dennis from Miami, FL
I wonder if she will use any ideas from her Christmas themed musical project for Broadway during these shows. I think there were talks about making Merry Christmas into musical since early 2000s.

Hey you, what's going on? (48,457) by 123 from USA
So I haven't had internet in over a month and I come back to the board and it's a totally different board today and I must say I like it. From Baby's well thought out defense posts for Mariah, to possible love connections and lambs linking up on other social media outside of MCA, it's great to read.
