Mariah goes Country, Nikki (48,456) by 123 from USA Nikki, I loved your post. That's one of Mariah's best covers ever. Shame it wasn't on one of her albums. I prefer it to other covers on her recent albums. I love how she put some twang in her voice and she sounded so authentic. I thought I had vocally heard the scope of Mariah's voice and when I heard this, I was shocked. I'm like, she needs to make a country album now. Why was this not on country radio or given a single treatment? Jermaine even said that Mariah has so many layers to her vocally that we haven't heard. I asked her if she had heard Mariah's newest album and she said I didn't know she had an album out. The last song I heard of Mariah's was Beautiful and that was a great song. The masses haven't heard any of the follow up singles from the album. You're Mine (Eternal) was barely played on the radio. With the right song and the right push with a Clear Channel deal and radio and television spots, Mariah can easily bounce back from this minor set back. The public will warm to her because she's a single mom who's husband cheated on her and dragged her name through the muck. (Thursday 11 December 2014; 3:42)

Old news though. There was this former MC chauffeur that was about to write a book (I guess just a chapter or two, I mean I don't think you can wrote a whole book but you'd never know) about what they calles "Mariah's sexcapades" but they settled. (48,453) by Edward from USA enwar00, I was curious as to why you had suggested removing "Help Me Make It" from my playlist, since it is a fans' favorite, just like "Slipping Way" and "Do You Think of Me". But now I understand, you hadn't caress your ears with it yet. Isn't it a great track? As simple as Mariah and some acoustic strings, no gimmicks. According to a friend who work on the production of Tennessee, Mariah recorded the song just like many country singers do, straight up, not cut and paste. I've a friend who loves old school Mariah, and he loves that song. I hope you got a chance to listen "My Love", even though Mariah's voice sounds kind of raspy on it, I love it. Almost like MTV Unplugged except these would be performances she's already done and she's edited them to have studio quality sound. Was she dating him before her divorce was final? Because in their words it sounds like they are saying Mariah embarrassed him (Tommy) when this came out and this is how he knew his marriage was over. She can't spend days being silent before gigs like she used to because she has kids so these underwhelming performances are forgivable and understandable. Mariah needs to cover up during outdoor performances and besides she was on the phone for hours with lawyers which means that she gave a great performance under those circumstances. Only one problem (48,437) by nikki from usa What made her amazing from the start was her perfectionism. Her technique, skill, and abilities were amazing. It's ironic that it now is her undoing. In the spirit of perfecting, she's dubbed a lot of performances where it wasn't necessary. She constantly has tracks going on in the background which is also unnecessary. It appears she's trying to make up for her lack of a supportive team by pushing herself to the max. Opera singers generally give themselves 2 days between performances and they're not traveling in between. Mariah's upcoming shows are back to back. There is no vocal rest. Her perfections are being used for her appearance and studio tracks instead of her vocal maintenance and dependable crew. If she'd switch the former for the latter, she'd have another prime. Still, it's remarkable how more people downloaded All I Want For Christmas since the Rockefeller event. It had dropped to just #17 right before ask hell broke loose. I guess Mariah will just have to take it any way she can get it. Also, BET need to televise at least one of the Beacon Shows or better yet, live stream it. (Wednesday 10 December 2014; 6:20)

Re: Baby and Grammy continued (48,434) by nikki from usa No doubt. The funny thing is when TEOM emerged she had no real competition. She had 50 Cent at the height of his fame and that was about it. People were struggling to hit double platinum and she whipped them all out of nowhere. She broke new radio and Billboard records and #1's. The album wasn't only popular, it was diverse. There was no way the Grammy could refuse her she was too celebrated, noticeable, and had no competition. In '95 Mariah had to compete against Alanis for Jagged Little Pill and severely over exaggerate her success to shut Mariah out. U2 is always a favorite of the Grammy. It seemed they could fart into a mic and they'd be given a Grammy. But, I think 1 year they were actually skipped over. I was shocked MC wasn't at least up for a couple of nominations. Mariah makes great music so maybe simply doing what she's known for isn't impressive. This album is more "safe" and middle of the road for her. I think she'd gain more recognition, even from the Grammies, if she stretched her wings a bit further. Jazz, Blues, Motown, etc. We haven't heard Rock from her since You Need Me. I know I'd like to hear a song by MC where she actually stands her ground and has an opinion on something. (Wednesday 10 December 2014; 4:16)
