Late Late Show (51,126) by Mara from United States
Mariah is going to be on the Late Late Show on CBS tonight. Hopefully this is the start of promotion for her Vegas shows and new album. As far as All I've Ever Wanted, I've always loved that song too as well as Pure Imagination. Isn't it funny how all of us lambs/fans that really know and love MC the way we do, feel very similar in what we adore from her catalog? I just love this woman and am so grateful to have this board and group of people who I can share my adoration for this talented lady that I have grown to feel is like family to me. I hope she is like the phoenix and rises from the ashes and leaves all this behind. Baby I am giving you a shout out since I am agreeing with a lot of your posts the past few days. RJ you are right as far as Brat rapping what MC wanted to say. I always noticed that too. It seemed like she literally spoke for MC lol. I could only imagine the lines she would have bottled up for the past year. Shelly we miss you.

Mariah versus the music industry (51,123) by Ethan from United States
In my opinion, Mariah is a musical genius. Her musical artistry seems to be a head of everyone else. She's probably the first mainstream pop artist to collaborate with rap/urban artists (ODB in 1995, Missy Elliot in 1997, Nicki Minaj in 2009). In her last album, she collaborated with Nas again and after that you saw a group of other female artists (JLo and Madonna) started to work with him again. In some ways, I feel like Mariah has been 'blackballed' (the term that Lee Daniels used it for Monique) by the music industry. Her relationships with Sony/Columbia, Virgin Records, and IDJ were not that great so she didn't get much respect from them and I think it could have affected her during awards season. During TEOM, Mariah was quickly called them out of those that counted her out during Glitter/Charmbracelet so I wouldn't be surprised if some people out there don't like her. I hope that now she's back with Sony/Epic, she will get more support and all of Tommy's people have left Sony/Columbia already. To another topic, I recently saw Jussie (Jamal on Empire) hung out with Da Brat and I noticed that Mariah didn't even follow her on her Instagram considered that she's her best friend. It's interesting to see that they don't even post pictures of each other. I wonder what's happened to their relationship. I can see that sometimes Mariah comes off at diva-ish and over-the-top but I hope that she's all about the music these days and put things behind.

#1's (51,120) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Does anyone here think that the updated album is going to be a success? I'm worried that it won't. The last few best of albums haven't sold that well, and Mariah Carey Essential didn't even chart. But I'm looking forward to her Vegas shows, I'm most excited to hear "I don't wanna cry" live for the first time in twenty years. But if she lip syncs, I think it will pretty much distroy her career.

All I ever wanted (51,119) by Ty from USA
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that thinks this is her best ballad. [...] rivals Whitney's [...] as the best ballad of all time. The climax is totally incredible, it's pure vocal and no whistle tones. This should have been the theme song of a movie.

Did you steal my list of remixes? I have the same list and I love it. I can be limited to know all the variety of remixes of the others singers, but I think there’s nobody "like Mariah".

I am seeking Mariah Carey vinyl-only mixes. I collect and transfer vinyl and I thought this would be a good place to start collecting on Mariah.

RJJ12 / Da Brat as Mariah's proxy (51,115) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
You're of course right about the genius of Pure Imagination. Even my little brother who's 19 is greatly impressed by how it hasn't aged even a second. He's been hearing Mariah since he was days old courtesy of yours truly. That's almost unheard of. Very few artists' songs have those timeless qualities as consistently as Mariah to me. The production is so on point and every second counts. The wall of sound, just ugh, Masterful. Anyway, I miss Da Brat collaborating with Mariah. They have great musical chemistry and their personal friendship makes her raps all the more interesting because she usually spits quite the mouth full. Can you imagine the things she would have rapped about on MIAMTEC? Lord, on Thirsty? Maybe they are doing something for "The Album"? Here's to hoping.

All I've Ever Wanted (51,114) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
Let's request for Mariah to sing the song acapella or with piano and put it on YouTube. Imagine that.

Mariah's teenage demo (51,113) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Wowzers, it seems as if Mariah is gearing up to release something with her demo. I wonder if #1's 2.0 is gonna be marketed as a double CD/DVD featuring the MC demos? It would almost have to be but what do I know. The instrumentation sounds raw enogh for me to believe it's real. Not to mention the slight difference in her phrasing, especially on Someday. Honestly, her demo was very professional. I can understand her frustration with having overproduction much better now after hearing it. All these demo teasers are making me happy. Yay. What are you all thinking?

Re: All I Ever Wanted (51,112) by JCS from United States
I love this song. I have a Whitney-Mariah playlist and this song comes after "I Will Always Love You". This is how the rest of the playlist looks like:
I'm Every Woman - Now That I Know
All The Man I Need - Anytime You Need A Friend
My Name Is Not Susan - Someday
All At Once - Love Takes Time
I Belong To You - Sent From Up Above
Whenever You Call - I Believe In You and Me - Lead The Way
You Light Up My Life - Open Arms
The Greatest Love Of All - Hero
When You Believe
I Didn't Know My Own Strength - Can't Take That Away
I know, Im a Whitney-Mariah dork.

Thoughts, All I've Ever Wanted (51,111) by Stacey from USA
I know no one here likes to go through trials or see a public persona like MC go through them. However, over the course of 25 years, we have gotten some of her best work after a hard time (i.e. Butterfly, TEOM, etc). When MC gets her "house" in order, there is nothing to stop this talented lady from getting people to recognize her once again. BTW, I love All I've Ever Wanted too.

Melt Away 2011 extended mix (51,108) by 123 from USA
I love the extra instrumentation on this remix and I love how the song ended instead of the vocals slowly going into fade and almost missing that high note at the end. Makes me love the song all over again.

I Still Believe Pure Imagination remix (51,107) by 123 from USA
I love this remix and video. This should have been on the remix album. It's simple yet creative. The Mexican theme really worked and she looked great. I loved how she flipped the song and used the Willy Wonka loop. Who else would have thought of that? I loved how she used to pick the sample for a record based on a song or melody she loved growing up, wished she still did that or at least would do a real remix. I don't know if Billboard considers remixes completely different chart entries now a days. This was one of my favorite eras because you didn't know exactly where Mariah was going to go musically and I loved how she was really embracing rap and r&b. The pop/top 40 stations weren't playing her anymore, but she was getting a lot of love on the urban stations, especially with the multiple versions of this song. A lot of people didn't like Brat's verse but I loved it because at the time, she was rapping exactly what Mariah wanted to say but couldn't. The jab to Derek Jeter. She even addressed Tommy's sabatoge/smear campaign "even if my label drops me, I'ma still sell copies". Truer words couldn't be spoken.

Stacey (51,106) by 123 from USA
I’m glad you liked the videos. She was on her A game vocally during the beginning of the Mimi era. The vocals in her BET Blueprint performances were really good. It's Like That sounded just like the album version and she didn’t try to lip the last note or the last chorus of WBT. I also want her to give some of her old songs some love, especially some album cuts like Melt Away, The Roof etc. It would be great if she released all the unreleased stuff for the fans, especially after all the silence.

Baby / Wendy / Touch My Body (51,105) by 123 from USA
Baby, I agree about Wendy trolling Mariah. For a while there she was talking about her every day and it was always negative. If you notice, before Jennifer Lopez came on her show, she was always shading Jennifer in favor of Mariah. Once Jennifer came on, she started in on Mariah. I agree with you how weird it is because Mariah was on her radio show 3 times, especially when Wendy told Mariah she was offered money to join a smear campaign against Mariah, which further proves that Tommy was doing everything to ruin Mariah. What annoys me the most is that one of her producers Norman is supposedly a lamb but he agrees with Wendy half the time. I wonder when they fell off because Mariah even shouts Wendy out in Touch My Body (because they be all up in my business like a Wendy interview) before she had her tv show.

MC songs on your current playlist (51,101) by IheartMC from USA
Although our girl M does not have any new music currently out, I always seem to have Mariah songs in all of my playlists. Lately the songs that I am currently spinning from her extensive catalog are:
1. Hate U
2. My all/Stay awhile
3. Make it look good
4. Faded
5. Vision of love (Unplugged version)
6. Now that I know
7. For the record
Lambs, what MC songs are you currently enamored with? You know her music does not go out of of "style".

One opinion through thousands lol, what do you think about it? (51,100) by Gilles from Malta
I really think Mariah should do a duet with a real legend like Barbra Streisand. Why Barbra? Because MC lost her connection with a part of her fans (the adults). I love R&B hip hop ballads, house and all her stuff. But MC has stayed in a kind of trend without following any particular one. People thinks that she is a bimbo for young adults or even teenagers and she is bashed by gossip magazines and TV shows and YouTube channels. So she lost her credibility. MC is really popular at Christmas for one good reason, people from any age love it (that's why her Christmas albums are considered classics). And we have to keep in mind that people who are older than 30 years buy as well. If you make your parents love music, you will be successful again MC. What do you think about it?
