Licia (52,446) by Stacey from USA
I wasn't trying to generalize everyone wanted a #1 song. I like many of her songs better than those that did hit #1. Anyways, there is something missing from Infinity for me too. However, before the song came out, I wasn't expecting a powerhouse hit. I don't think that was the purpose of Infinity or I Stiill Believe for that matter. And it's why I didn't feel this let down upon hearing the song. I bought up ISB because both songs were used as a way to promote the new compilation album. Mariah is going to save her powerhouse hit songs for a full commercial album release. Once Mariah got in a place of personal momentum forward, we were blessed with a amazing album (Rainbow after #1s, TEOM after CB, and ??? after #1 To Infinity). I wasn't trying to generalize every fan was expecting a #1 hit. That wasn't why I wanted to respond. I wanted to maybe bridge the gap of expectations so to speak and maybe remind folks MC is always going to save her best stuff for a full album release. Plus, this song was more about her moving on from Nick. I'll take it an enjoy it as much as I can. And if not, I have so many other MC songs, remixes, galore to listen to, lol.

Mariah's arrival at Caesars Palace (52,445) by Ardis Logic from Earth
Is there anywhere that we can watch Mariah's arrival at Caesars Palace tonight? You would think it would be on her official website.

If you look at iTunes charts around the world she's the highestest new entry on most of them.

Infinity and it's potential (52,443) by D.D. from USA
I personally love love love this song. I think it's unexpected of Mariah and it has great potential. I can't wait for the video to come out and if there are remixes released I'll be the first in line to buy those as well. You guys just don't know how big this song could be with the right promotion and it's great lyrics and vocals, perfect for a club remix by some hot DJs. Day one and I can't wait to see what else she's gonna release for this single and era. And even though I stopped buying CDs because I prefer digital downloads now, I did order my copy of the new #1s and can't wait to get it. Wether you like Infinity or hate it, it is what it is, as someone said earlier if you don't like it, close the door and loose the key. Bye bye. Enjoy.

I've been trolling YouTube (52,442) by Lee TS from USA
And like this board it's filled with a lot of different feelings. But here's my message on the video: I love the song and it's not just because I'm a lamb. But I actually get what she's trying to do here. This song is a break up anthem but instead of wallowing in Bobby Womack songs hoping for him to come back around, she's saying she will be ok on her own. A lot of people are going in on the lyrics like the Fritos line. If you really knew M you know she's poking fun at herself and making light of the situation with her humor - and she's fulfilling her MC rapper fantasy by rapping the verse. It's slick. But what draws me is the chorus and she's sangin' on it, and I get why she's singing the word "infinity" in that key, it's like soaring and leaving it all behind. Now no shade to Ariana but she might actually appreciate this song at this point in her life. Infinity for all.

Infinity (52,441) by LC from USA
I think it's really interesting and surprising to see the overwhelmingly negative reviews of the song on here. So far, blogs, major news publications, and the general public (non lambs) have been raving about its "nostalgic", "throwback" sound and Mariah's "signature vocals". They're even calling it a return to form for Mariah. It's top 25 on iTunes, with no promotion, #1 on Billboard's Real Time Trend Chart, #1 on Twitter's worldwide trends, and #4 on YouTube's trending/popular now videos, which means it's definitely getting buzz from the public. I never thought I'd see the day when the public likes the song more than the lambs. Not saying it's a bad thing. I mean, personally, it took a few listens for me to start liking the song because I was thrown off by the overwhelming production and Mariah's enunciation, but I never thought it was a bad song. I really don't see where some of you are hearing "terrible" vocals or "horrid" lyrics, though. That is a mystery to me. I think that it will definitely be a song that grows on me and I can see it being a hit. I hope that we can all still support the song, though. Don't we all want to see Mariah on top again?

Infinity video (52,440) by Giselle #1 Mariah Critic from USA
I think she and her team have got to come out great with a fun concept for a video. I'm not even going to lie lol, I wish, Mariah would have had snuck one of MIAMTEC tracks on #1's lol. I remember her and Nas hadn't yet finished "Dedicated" and she hadn't finished "Meterorite" either she should, have held out on those and snuck them as "new" on here lol no shade. I like Infinity, each time I play it I get to love it each more. But I don't know, I just feel like why can't she focus on her building her acting career? I think the problem is we all love the song, we just don't love it for Mariah Carey.

Infinity to iTunes (52,439) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
Despite the love/hate of Infinity, Infinity is still top 10 in 26 countries and top 20 in 33 countries. This morning in USA at 1am the song was positioned at #155 and currently sits at #21. It's been sitting there since I went to the movies at noon. With radio adds, official music video, Vegas with live stream and media present, rave reviews, and nalstalgic hype, we should all expect it to rise by tommorrow. People are buying it in swarms and she hasn't even promoted it. Speaks to Mariah Carey's name and legacy.

Andrew, I just can't live it like that (52,437) by Dennis from Miami, FL
It was funny to mention straight men. I don't think the are listening to Beyonce, Rihanna or JLo. They are mostly watching. And here comes the video which I'm sure will be sexy. MC still got it unlike Madonna in her 40's. "Straight guys" at my work noticed the single cover. When I lived in university campus straight guys looking through my CDs always stuck at the #1's or Rainbow. I recall what Coldplay were saying back in 2005 about her boobs.

Infinity (52,436) by Aden from South Africa
Ok just got Infinity and I am loving it playing it constantly. Love the hook so much, I just keeps repeating over and over in my head. I know this one's gonna be a hit. Sideline note: I love how the butterfly avatar is shaped like an infinity symbol, it's beautiful and in its own way a diss to Nick ie Mariah's tattoo of a butterfly on her back after her nuptials will stay with her infinitely while Nick's tattoo has been removed, hence infinity at least for him ain't forever.

Poland iTunes (52,427) by R&B Junkie from Poland
I want fans from Poland to show up here like right now. Infinity went to #5 (so far) on iTunes Polska, where are all of you who made this happen? I swear I bought only one copy , and matter the fact the song went to top ten without any promotion here. I like the general vibe of the song, I've got so many people around me who deserve to be given with this masterpiece and this ain't no compliment. Thank you Mariah for bringing in another life-saver

Infinity to 1 (52,425) by Ethan from United States
Despite the mixed reviews, this song is moving up on charts without any major promotions besides on all social media outlets. That's quite a feature for the PR/Media group. Let's not compare. There's a catchy chorus. It doesn't feel/seem 90s to me but it reminds me of the TEOM era and it's in between Shake It Off/Make It Look Good. The addition to AC/POP radios, music video, and promotional performances will only make the song climb up the charts more. I'm excited for her and her team. In my opinion, it's not the best but it's grown on me. I said the same thing about Honey and Heartbreaker. I think Mariah is one of those artists that have an array of fans because of her music artistry/longevity. Every first single sounds different from one album to another. I can see why fans said this and that but we need to look at Mariah's career. There are songs with simple lyrics like Dreamlover (or the entire Music Box album) but very melodic tunes, there are songs with hard beats and catchy/interesting phrases like "them chickens are ash and I'm lotion" lol, and there are GRE/SAT lyrical words like Close My Eyes, Outside, and others. There's something for everyone. It's up to us to leave it or take it and not bashing.

Still hopeful (52,424) by Dove from USA
Why are we so afraid to aim for #1? TMB made it to number one and Infinity is better than TMB. Think about most of the songs that make it to #1. All About That Bass was #1 recently. Blank Space was #1. Infinity is as good or better than those songs. Even if Infinity is not your favorite, please still buy the single to support Mariah.

Infinity (52,422) by B from USA
Is tailor made for Adult Contemporary, Pop, and R&B radio. It has a sing a long chorus that is catchy and the verses are clever. The speculation about the lyrics will get the public interested in the song which will translate into streams and downloads. Mariah, Reid, and Epic know what they are doing and they are doing it well. This era feels epic, pun intended.

Mariah's red carpet Vegas welcome live stream (52,421) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Who is all tuning in to the #1 To Infinity extravaganza? It's supposed to start 6pm PT (3am CET) The video portion begins at 8pm (5am CET). I downloaded the Periscope app but I'll be sleeping. Hopefully it'll be uploaded on YouTube by mid day tomorrow here in Europe. Fingers crossed that Mariah performs Infinity live. Slay oh queen o'shade.

Move on (52,420) by Darryle from USA
I know that some of you don't like Infinity and I understand that, I also know MIAMTEC had missed single opportunities but it's time to let it go. How are you going to judge Mariah's new music when you're basing your opinion on how her old work sounds? Artists such as Mariah evolve and go through different stages in their life. If you keep getting your hopes up for everything to sound like her previous work you're bound to be disappointed. You're showing your asses with all these negaitve reviews and it's not making any of you look good.

Andrew (52,419) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I get how you feel. I have been in that state a while back then suddenly I found my self humming parts of it. Now I am liking it a bit more. I also am worried about non-Mariah fans, because to get a major hit, the non-lambs need to be on board. About the straight guy thing, this song is probably not going to appeal to them much (non fans) but I think it might have potential. I'll keep #1 in the back seat for now, I'm aiming more for a top 10 at this point and I think that is possible. If Mariah can somehow hook in some non fans who are girls, they'll eat it up. Taylor Swift's "We are never ever getting back", "I knew you were trouble" and "Blank space" got so successful because it became a major break up anthems for girls around the world. Even non fans bought it because the song was relatable and let's face it many people had bad break ups. I'm sure straight guys didn't buy into that either, but still they were major on the charts. Anyways at this point I am mumbling crap I know, it's too late at night. I'm still optimistic about the song even though at first I did not like it.

Infinity (52,418) by NHYTG from nyc
The ultimate break-up anthem, I think many people can relate to Infinity. Playing it over and over, loving it more and more. I'm a bit surprised by the negative reactions because this is just the kind of song you can expect from Mariah, it's so much her own style. I still applaud her for staying close to herself and not desperately trying to chase chart-success with music that she doesn't relate to. Nice to see Infinity at #17 here in The Netherlands.

Infinity (52,416) by Abraham from USA
I'm sorry but the song disappointed me. I was hoping for something great. I honestly want to slap all those critics for hyping up the song making me believe it was going to be something spectacular. The song definitely isn't number one material. The music is terrible and the lyrics along with Mariah's voice are awful. Once it started I already knew I wasn't going to like it. Almost every song on "Me I am Mariah" except "You're mine" is better. It's just as bad as "You're mine". I still love Mariah though. Hopefully the singles from her next album will be better.

Stacey (52,415) by Licia from USA
Not everyone who dislikes Infinity cares about it being number. At least I don't. I have never cared about that. All I wanted was a great song. I wasn't expecting 90's Mariah and I definitely didn't want a rehash of WBT. For me there's just something missing from this song. IMO there's no wow factor and it didn't remind me of why she was capable of earning those 18 number 1's.

#1's To Infinity (52,414) by B from USA
The original release included When You Believe, Mariah's Oscar winning duet with Whitney Houston, Sweetheart with Jermaine, Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight, and I Still Believe. Sweetheart, a cover of Rainy Davis' Sweetheart released in 1987, was a cute song. When You Believe was a miracle. Mariah's duet with Brian on Whenever You Call was underwhelming. Mariah's cover of Brenda K. Starr's I Still Believe, on which she sang background vocals, was her way of paying tribute to her. Starr's version peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Starr's first and only top twenty single on the Hot 100. Mariah's version peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Mariah made the song her own and the remixes she commissioned are/were epic. Infinity is a hit. It's got everything going for it except for the few so called fans that dislike it but that's not going to stop the public from hearing the song and thinking Mariah Carey is back and in fine form with a catchy witty new single.
