I find the delusional, enabling "Mariah is still a great vocal performer and her stage performances are great" comments far more annoying than anything Andrew has posted. I don't agree with everything he says, but at least there is some truth in his posts.

Anybody knows who was the photographer who shot the Me... I Am Mariah album artwork? [Webmaster: If you bought the album, you knew who it was: Thomas Whiteside.]

Andrew, I felt inspired to write that message to you last night but I almost didn't post it because I knew it would make me look crazy. I posted it anyway because I felt maybe it was a message you needed to hear right now. I wasn't trying to offend you. Sometimes you have good points but your delivery makes you come off as angry and bitter. As a fellow human I don't like seeing you consumed by negativity.

Mariah after Vegas (50,140) by Bill from the UK
I kind of see 2015, Mariah's 25th year of making beautiful music, as a celebratory affair with the new #1's album and the Vegas shows (and hopefully more Christmas concerts at the end of the year). As for the future, one thing I've always wanted Mariah to do, and something I feel she would do well, is to completely write and produce an album by herself. It may take a while for her to put it together, but I loved when she self-produced tracks like Vanishing and Melt Away. They were standouts on their respective albums and remain, in my opinion, real highlights from her catalogue. I don't believe Mariah's ever written a song completely by herself, except interludes, but I think she can do it and would do it well. Even if she "sings" the instrumentation and gets somebody to copy it on the respective instrument, it could work. Something that is completely 100% her would be a real treasure for me.

Why did you censor the word "dude"? It's mostly a term of endearment. I didn't come here to annoy anyone although I see I do. You'll notice I post and then people bring me up and force a response. As I'm sure they will to this. I came here to try to convince people to debate reality and tell it like it is. I said a while ago that the current situation would happened and, perhaps a little arrogantly, I know what will happen next. As do many others. But I read messages about how perfect she is and what a nasty man I am. Like I said, you don't want me here so I won't be here. I have respect, believe it or not. But I can't stress enough, even in my absence, the debate needs to move forward to make MC listen. Maybe my delivery is harsher than most. I think it's because I care the most. I don't hate her, I love her more than I love sunny summer days lol. If you don't want me to post anymore then cool. You'll miss me as much as I will miss grimacing as the page loads to see who hates me at any given time. Thunder absolutely must precede sunlight. But we must surely affect how much it rains in the meantime. Much love.

You still don't get it. It's not your opinion that bothers the most of us, but the way and frequency you present your opinion. And no, you're not the only one who thinks Mariah needs some changes. Do your read other people's messages at all? Sometimes I think you only come here to annoy us.

[censored] It's your website, if you don't want to post my messages don't post them. It's what most people want. Who'd have contrary opinions, eh? I'm not sure I have anything left to say, though. Little pointless. But ask yourselves this, and don't doubt for a second that Mariah comes here to read this stuff: is anyone telling her to stop, think and change? Isn't it your responsibility to help save this? I am genuinely concerned about the state she is in and how bad it's getting, and I read message after message telling her everything is great. It's on the edge of disaster with Vegas looming. But nobody will even contemplate telling her to not go through with it. Yet this is what she's always told, that's its all fine, and look what has happened. I mostly always ignore the messages directed at me personally. As someone said: "If you don't like his posts don't read them." However I grow exasperated that the one forum that might actually make Mariah think about her actions and her future is filled to the brim with fairytale endings and unicorns. I guess it's my problem. It is a wasted opportunity. This is a board for discussing which ensemble better suits the hair. I love Mariah Carey. I have loved her since I was ten years old. I can see where this is heading. I think I love her much more than you guys. But that's one I'm not fussed about winning. I love you all for loving Mariah. I just won't ever understand the manner in which you do it. Thunder precedes the sunlight.

Tobby on Lee Daniels directing MC's next video (50,136) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Who knows? I'm guessing the song would have to impact him on such a personal level Lee would be the one who offers to do it. I personally enjoy the videos Mariah directed or co-directed the most, especially during the Daydream/Butterfly eras. In any case Mariah is supposedly making an appearance on Empire, aside from that Elusive big blowup of her in an earlier episode, so I expect Lee will direct her in whatever projects he is involved in. But hey, why not her next music video?

All women on the new album (50,135) by Jonathan from United States
I would really love to see Mariah do an entire album only with women from the writers to the musicians. She could work with some of the top women right now and someone who is a diva. I want her to write a song with Pink or Kelly Clarkson since they both look up to her and I know it might be far fetched but I want Mariah to write atleast one song by herself. I know she can't piano that well which is why she needs a cowriter but I want her just to try atleast once.

Complete VH1 countdown interview (50,134) by Chantel from usa
Hello lambs. I am trying to track down a special interview with Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. It's from 1998 for VH1 top ten countdown. I have seen several versions on YouTube but they are only clips of the full complete interview. I would love to have this interview. I have been trying to track it down for years. If anyone has it or knows where to find it please help. I am also willing to pay for it if that is requested. Thank you. . Also there is a version on YouTube uploaded by a user called "Whitney connection". That is not the full interview, it cuts off at the end.

B on McCartney, RiRi and Kanye's collabo (50,133) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I agree 100% B. It's by design specifically to get a #1 song and propelling Rihanna closer to eclipsing Mariah's #1's but also Paul is a Beatle lest we forget. Billboard would change the rules for him if he actually manages to score a #1 song as a featured first. We all know it. But it's par for the course. Everybody wants to make history so I'm not mad. It's a very calculated move though and I'm personally kinda over the stunt collaborations that don't make sense musically. Mariah didn't ever have to resort to that for any of her #1's. Her collaborations were organic, based on mutual appreciation between artists and many times turned into true friendships. Look at Mariah's relationship with John Legend. She was championing him long before he was a mainstream artist. I hope he's joining her onstage in some capacity in Vegas. They have good chemistry. My point is, Mariah is really her own biggest competition. She has to beat her own record once before she even ties with the Beatles. It's gonna happen too. Just wait. Happy Valentine's Day MCA. You too Mimi.

Lee Daniels (50,132) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Someone posted here a while back that Lee Daniels tweeted MC will be on Empire? Does anyone have the conversation? I would love to see it. Lee already put up a huge beautiful picture of MC in one of the shots on Empire and it was featured prominently for quite a long time and if MC is actually on I would freak out. So can anyone copy paste the conversation?

Mariah Carey / it is time (50,131) by Edward from USA
Mariah you are the epitome of true talent. It is time for you to trust somebody, maybe L.A. Read, to put together a great team, delegate, so you don't have to be so stressed over every aspect of your career. Once a good team has been put together, let them do their jobs while you worry about your music, writing, recording. Get in shape, get a vocal coach if you don't have one, and let the team work the rest. You rather have loving nannies than abusive ones, they'll never replace you as the loving mom that you are. Put your money to good use, most of us can't pay a life coach or a therapist when our lives are not going that well. Control can drive some people over the edge, it is good to have it, but too much of it is never healthy. When you were more worried about producing great albums, excellent songs, you looked happier and way much more humble. Many of us love that humble woman from Long Island, that one you dusted off and so gracefully brought back on Ellen no long ago. It is not even about the belting, "Misty Moon" and "Looking In" are examples of soul and emotion through your gift. I miss you.

MC 2015 (50,130) by Emmanuel from Canada
I think MC should make another duet with Miguel or even Sam Smith. They both have a very urban texture to their voices, still yet they are mainstream pop. In my opinion, Mariah has nothing to prove. However, I would like to see her score that 19th and 20th #1, just to make a point to the industry that "you can't right off true talent" (NTQ). Also, I think the MIAMTEC era could have been perfect if she just released the album back in July 2013. Except for Dedicated, the other two songs she added (Thirsty, Money) didn't really add any value to the record. MIAMTEC is such a strong body of work, it really makes be upset that it didnt get the exposure it deserved. Finally, I think MC has something special planned for the lambily for 2015. She is purposely laying low and is going to come out swinging very soon. I think she is in the process of losing some weight, getting her voice and performances together. I think she is ready and wants to conquer the world again.

Re: The one with the nonsense (50,122) by Andrew from UK (50,129) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
It seems you get your kicks out of hurting Mariah and her fans. You never have anything nice to see about Mariah and her fans. Everytime Mariah makes a mishap, you're the first to tell us in long tedious messages. Of course you're not the only one to do so, but you're the only who brings it up weeks and even months after it happened. Again and again so that no one will ever forget it. The Jamaica concert was two weeks ago and the rest of us have already moved on, but here you are, Mr. Negative, to remind us all why Mariah will never be able to sing live again. If someone tells you they are sick of your negativity, you will bash them. We know you don't like Mariah (we even wonder if you ever did), we know you think she is a has-been, we know you can't see anything positive about her and her fans, we all know you can stand the fans who still believe in her (you were never one of us and you will never be), we all know that so it's no use to tell us that again and again, week after week, month after month, year after year. If someone comes up with reasons (I mean reasons and not excuses) for a mishap, you say we are sugar-coating. Your point of view is the thruth and anyone who disagrees is an idiot. If someone says they don't like your attitude in a gentle way, you get nasty on a personal level. Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of you and I wonder if I should stop posting your messages.

New direction (50,128) by George Golden from UK
EDM will be an amazing direction to go for Mariah to be honest. Metereotite is a revelation but as usual bad decisions prevented that song to soar. Songs in that vein would be really great. Triumphant Pulse Remix was stunning but yet again it took the back seat from the uproar the original caused. I will keep saying this hoping she hears, people are sick of the rap collabos. Her videos too need a real artistic and abstract direction instead of all the"look at me I am so sexy" videos. She needs a serious change in direction now. Times have changed and video views go a long way for a hit these days. Her best video I think is Dreamlover, she was carefree and beautiful in that video without all that akwardness her latest videos seem to have. She needs a serious damage control, go on Oprah and other talk shows and talk sincerely about everything that is going on. Her voice, new music, current music stars or even create a reality show with fans making up beats and lyrics for you and then choose a winner to write and produce some of your singles. Just saying.

My take on the negativity of some people here who call themselves a Mariah fan (50,127) by Robby from Chicago USA
1. We are human beings more than a fan and therefore, we have the right to voice out our opinions, criticisms and appreciatios on anything or to anyone.
2. A fan is someone who listens to the music, buys the music, watches the shows/concerts of the artist that you identify yourself as a fan. And therefore, statement #1 applies to you. However, if you only criticize, expresses your opinion when the person makes mistakes, can you consider yourself a fan? I know a specific person who posts messages here only when Mariah stumbles or falls but when she rises back, he never say anything to appreciate Mariah. With that, I am more than convinced that he is not really a fan. He has too much negativity towards Mariah and I fell bad for him because he spends time to come to this website and post messages when in fact, he does not like Mariah. If I were you, I will do something more valuable with my time.
3. To us "real" fans of Mariah, let's continue to support her. Do not be bothered with the negativity around here. Read their messages but only pick up those constructive criticisms. Voice out your opinions but ponder on things that makes you a fan or hers.

Next video director: Lee Daniels (50,126) by T from USA

Sony Epic (50,124) by T from USA
I think Mariah needs the support of a strong label behind her. Doing it on her own will lead to minimal success as we saw with the whole MIAMTEC era. Remember the label was only there at the beginning, but unlike all her previous albums she was the exclusive executive producer on this last one. So any money to be made back was only going to her. She was the only one invested in it and the only one bound to make money if it was a success. So MIAMTEC was her project. The only thing is the label was still in charge of picking the singles (which hurt the project, yes). But Mariah on her own can only really have the success of the tail end of 2014, the TEC shows and the Beacon Christmas shows. Her strength isn't managing.

The one with the nonsense (50,122) by Andrew from UK
Again, "argumentum ad hominem": you can't criticise what I'm saying so you criticise me. I truly don't care. Shelly, your comment smacks of lunacy. Put down the pipe. Taylor, your post was hilarious and actually brightened up my day. Have you ever seen the Friends episode where Joey writes Monica and Chandler a letter using a thesaurus to sound clever, but uses so many synonyms and incorrect words it reads as complicated garbage? Did you get a thesaurus for Christmas? Eg. "Convey undertones"? Undertones come from the literal sound of something being said. Perhaps you meant "overtones"? My "attempts are veiled by my nature"? Stop trying to sound clever. It doesn't win the argument, it makes you sound strange. You would be wise not to debate me based upon what you have written. I do not "bully" Mariah (you can look that one up), and I do not belittle *all* those who "support" her. As I have stated often, it's not due to so-called "recent mishaps" (? lol) but a several-year long career trajectory steered by one awful decision after another and performances which are lies which were going to get found out and ruin her legend. And looky here, what's happening now? I bemoan anyone now who sugar-coats. Don't like my delivery? I really don't care. So many people are fed-up with her attitude. The "yes-fans" like you are dangerous, aiding in the end of Mariah's career. You're no better than the "yes-men" around her for which you blame almost everything. Enjoy your high ground. N.b. I didn't praise the Beacon Theatre shows because of the massive use of lip-syncing. To do so would have been to have tried to pretend the ongoing and worsening crisis has gone away just because I wanted it to. However the Ellen interview/skit was praised as it was a return to the fun, relevant, engaging Mariah that once was. Pay attention, up there.

We can make it if we try (50,121) by Luke from United Kingdom
We should have more faith in her. This is the woman who wrote "Make it Happen" and "Fly Like a Bird". She seems to have the frame of mind that makes something good out of a bad experience, and learns from it. Do I think she'll forever drop lip-synching? No, I would imagine she does this now to avoid hurting her voice. She doesn't need to do it on every song though. I would rather have decent albums than constant live performances that could possibly ruin her indefinitely. She's just come out a relationship. People do things to make themselves feel better when this happens, like wear statement gowns, wear more make-up or put on a diva act to hide the hurt. It's not always about making excuses for her, It's about understanding that people deal with life differently.

Thoughts (50,120) by clueey23 from USA
I got tickets to the 5/20 show for Valentines. I just thought I'd share. I'm so geeked. Everything put aside I wish that MCs accomplishments would just speak for themselves. I feel that the media is this way with MC because she rarely has done any press in the last couple of years, and especially now that she is the process of divorce, which just leads to speculation. We need MC to do an Oprah Next Chapter episode. And clarify just a few things for the general public and her fans. But people this is our favorite who was basically dumped on by her husband who she thought was the love of her life. Our girl is in pain now with two babies. Be easy and empathetic to her situation off the stage. And I honestly love MC live sounding rougher than ever and all. Jamaica was a miss for some but for me it was a hit. Fantasy was rediculous, but her adlibs were pretty. We Belong Together was rediculous in the end. She made up for all of that with Shake It Off and Vision Of Love. I love it when she plays with her songs, changes the words or just clearly changes the way they were originally sung. Also people MC has personality. I've never been to a Beyoncé concert that wasn't so very calculated down to ever word that was spoken, everything like a robot. Whereas MC can sing us a song on the whem that she thought of in her head and crack jokes and make me laugh like a friend who happens to be an icon.

I feel heavily on my heart to ask you to please use your gifts for good, you are so smart and talented. You don't need to be afraid because you are loved. The entire universe is conspiring to help you, and what you need is already on its way. When it arrives, please accept it because you are worthy. Don't worry about the past because it's already gone. Each moment is a chance to start over. I'm sending peaceful thoughts your way and I hope that you'll accept them. Be well Andrew.

Next video (50,117) by Abraham from USA
Mariah should get a good video director to direct her next video. Say like Brett Ratner. He's still around? The video could tell a story, or just be fun like "Beautiful". Many don't like it but I do. Honestly, how many women have looked that damn gorgeous at 43. She looked amazing. In my opinion "You're mine" has been her worst video. It gave me nothing. So hopefully we good a nice, cool video. Favorite of all time is "Fantasy".

Bad label (50,116) by nikki from usa
I'm not happy about MC signing onto another label. I think she's playing it "safe" instead of coming into her own. The music-scape of the 90's is gone. If the label isn't willing to put much into an artist, they won't see the light of day. I don't want to deja vu her last album again. The labels pick sucky singles. The labels want her to regurgitate old formulas. She's forever complaining about such things. I think songs like Lil' Love, Help Me Make It Through The Night, Right To Dream, Miss You, Do You Think Of Me, Don't Stop, and the like are some of her best material. She's great when she branches out and tries new things. The time to take the lead and do her own thing is now. At the very least, if she were to fall on her face there wouldn't be any disillusionment on what she needs to do. But, signing with another label now only ensures she won't be able to do her own thing until her 50's. I wish she would decide what she really wants and put a professional team in place to reach that goal. Another label is doomed to make MC redo old MC material and music structures. That time has passed. If Tommy, Medina, LA Reid, and Clive Davis can make her a star than any competent person can. It's time for Mariah to make Mariah Carey a star.
