I was 17 and her music literally saved my life. I was a liltte depressed for a bad romance. I remember I thought it was the most beautiful voice around the world and I fell in love with the song. After I saw the video on TV and wow her face, her body, that perfect smile, that amazing charisma. I still love the Dreamlover video. I bought Music Box, I love all songs. In less than two months I found Emotions and Mariah Carey, her previous CD shock me a lot for her maturity, voice and amazing songs. Now I'm 37 and still listenning to her all music. Well during MOAIA I admit I didn't like it at all and lost my faith in her music and I discovered all about MK ultra and it dissappoint me a lot. But after two years without listening any Mariah song, suddenly one day I started do it again with Merry Christmas II You. There ara a lot of singers that follow illuminattis rules, but not Mariah. First time I heard Mariah (42,350) by Darryle from USA The first time I heard Mariah was the song "It's like that". I was 5 when it came out and I remember blasting everywhere I went. In the car, on the way to school, everywhere. After that song I lost touch and didn't hear from her until Obsessed and I became obsessed with that song. But I lost touch after that too. First time knowing of Mariah (42,349) by Eternal from Italy It was 95 or 96 and everyone was talking about her song Hero. I was still in primary school and I remember her name was a little hard to pronounce lol. Then I saw her video for AIWFCIY after my favourite cartoon every weekend and I loved the youthful, joyous nature of the song. My first Mariah album was Rainbow (bought in 1999), but I didn't listen to any more Mariah music until 2008, when a university friend got me interested in her music again. I listened to E=MC2, loved it and started watching all of her videos on YouTube and was amazed by the quality and quantity of her back catalogue. I've been a lamb since. I have to say that phase back in 08 and 09 of eagerly listening to all her old songs was lovely. Hearing songs you never knew and loving almost every single one of them, this endless discovery of the wonder that is Mariah Carey. (Thursday 27 March 2014; 12:34)

First time I heard Mariah / new album (42,346) by NYHotShotta from USA First time I heard her was when I saw the music video for ABMB. I thought she was 15 not 25 lol. Also, where are all you guys seeing that the new album has been pushed back? I hope not. Mariah needs to release this. I hope it's an amazing album and I could see her going with the mermaid theme. Carlos Jaramillo (42,345) by Ryan from Canada Great to hear Carlos. I was listening to it over and over on my playlist and thought wait, why wouldn't I stream it. I'm on my iPhone a lot and usually in wifi when I'm listening to music (mostly Mariah on my playlist, lol). Why not stream the song when listening to it and help it up the charts. I do like YME a lot. I also just realized that I have been posting here for years and definately have visited the site everyday since I discovered it way back. I think you are the very first person to post me back so thanks. I have been a fan since the very start. Seriously I can't think of any other artist whose tone, clarity and range satisfies me the way Mariah's does. I don't love every song or single she has done but her voice is always perfect on her records whether I like the song or not. First time with Mariah (42,344) by Musti from UK I never really knew about Mariah or her songs, even though I had seen posters of Daydream everywhere and kept wondering who on earth this woman is. I was 13 when I was paying my weekly visit to the music store when I saw Butterfly sitting on the shelf. I remember having a good stare at the cover for a few minutes and thinking "she looks so beautiful". I bought it and went straight home. I remember being overwhelmed by the plethora of sounds and the complexity of her vocals. Fourth Of July was my first favoruite. The way she streched each word into a thousand possibilities and a rollercoaster of emotions just triggered something in me. Then I met Outside, and my life changed. For a few years I woke up, slept, ate, cried and smiled to that song everyday. She was better than a best friend and I couldn't understand how that was possible. She helped me understand myself and face the world despite all my fears. Just imagine how psyched I was when I found out we were born on the same day. Happy birthday to me and Mariah. Reply to Pablo (42,341) by Antonio from Spain To be completely honest, I don't know whether she has ever topped the list or not because when I started listening that, it was 2002 and I know that from that moment on Mariah has not even appeared on the chart if I'm right. It's a weird thing since We Belong Together and Touch My Body were big hits, but that's all I know. I think that TTR entered the list but I don't know if it hit the #1, I don't think so, yet it peaked at #1 on the Spanish singles chart for its sales. Ironically, I've just actually found out from a website that says that "Without You", "Honey", "Heartbreaker" and "When You Believe" all reached number one on the 40 Principales chart. First time with Mariah (42,340) by Austin from USA I remember being pretty young when the first album came out, around 12 years old. I wasn't really into Mariah back then. I was just figuring out what type if music I preferred, which was mostly rock and pop. However, my older sister was amazed by Mariah's voice in the Emotions song. She used to play it all the time. I'll Be There was another Mariah hit played in my household, my mom was a big RnB fan. When Dreamlover came out, it was inescapable. I really liked the vibe and became interested in her career. Then, Without You hit and I became a solid fan. Her voice was like an angel and that song soared. Daydream solidified my love for Mariah and it remains one of my favorite albums to this day. First time ever (best day of my life) (42,339) by Carlos Jaramillo from USA I was 13 years old and was at my aunts house with my Jehovah's witness family for dinner. We weren't really allowed to be very exuberant or expressive but, being the young, brewing gay boy that I was, I was stopped in my tracks in the hallway on my way from the rest room to the living room where everyone was. Emotions was playing loudly. I vividly remember opening the door to the bathroom as she hit the first high note of the song. I was only 13, didn't understand the complexities of the human "voice", but was instantly mesmerized. I remember I stayed tucked in the hallway dancing around like a maniac, hoping not to get caught and beat.. Lol (oh life lol). I just remember thinking "power, how does she use so much power? Also, I never really thought about vocal runs and melisma at that point but the flexibility she demonstrated in that song, even as a little boy, I understood was immeasurable. The first time (42,336) by Twisterman from Brazil In 95 I was 14 and a friend showed me Without You. I had little contact with the English language, but the lyrics and music touched me. To my delight I discovered that my sister had the album Muisc Box and Daydream (I picked up to hear hidden). I took Without You to school in English class and did my class sang the song hehehe. First time (42,335) by Chicago Lamb from USA "Vision of Love" on radio was playing with heavy rotation, and even as a slow dance closer in night clubs (I was under-aged). I didn't fall in love untill I saw the video for VOL. From that moment Mariah became my life long obsession. I watched the VHS of "The first vision" every day after school for about a year. I have a thing for incomplete portraits, leaves a lot of mystery and desire. That's why I love when Mariah covers part of her face with her hair, looks super sexy, a lot of celebrities can't pull that look off. First time I heard Mariah (42,333) by Pablo from Spain I had heard a few songs from Mariah, but nothing had really caught hardcore with me. Then, being 11-12 during the Music Box ever, I had heard "Dreamlover" and "Hero" so much that I still don't like those songs. Then she released Without You and I loved it. I couldn't stop listening to it. Then that Christmas came along with AIWFC and then the next year Fantasy. I remember getting so excited when my clock radio woke up one day and I heard "Fantasy". I knew it was Mariah before they said so. Ever since, she's been my fave. Antonio, since you're from Spain and I've been living here six years (now in Bilbao where she filmed Sweetheart), do you know if she's ever had a number one song on 40 Principales? Nick (42,332) by Darryle from USA I don't understand all the Nick hate. I mean, I agree he shouldn't share details like their marriage is kept alive with lots if sex, but other than that he's cool. I think he's perfect for Mariah because they balance each other out. Nick is loose, open, and fun and Mariah is serious and fairly reserved with her personal life. Nick brings out the fun Mariah that you'd see in videos like "Touch my body" or "Obsessed". Mariah brings out the serious business man in Nick the guy you'd see running Nickelodeon or hosting the Halo Awards. They're a match made in heaven. (Wednesday 26 March 2014; 12:10)

The first time I heard about Mariah (42,330) by Antonio from Spain I think this would be a fun topic to discuss, what do you think, lambs? The first time I heard about our very loved MC was in the very late 1990's or very early 2000's, my cousin had recorded Music Box in a cassette, and my aunt was like "Don't you know who Mariah Carey is?" Lol. "Heartbreaker" was the first MC video I remember watching, but I had no idea of the "Rainbow" album, and btw, I was like 6 years old by then. I do remember the Glitter era, though, I remember seeing the CD in music stores and I loved the cover and I wanted it, and I also remember seeing the TV advert for the film. "Hero" and "Through the Rain" were the first two Mariah songs I really listened to, as "TTR" was on heavy rotation on a Spanish Music TV Channel (no wonder the song debuted at #1 on the Spanish Singles Chart) and "Hero" had been covered in a local singing competition show. I'm so tired of his shh like always talking about their intimate things with Mariah, making those "stu..d" videos that he called music, now doing whiteface. It's just too much. Actually I really think that Mariah is getting tired of him too, at least, in her latest interviews she made it clear for a moment, she was like "oh yeah, Nick and his things". You're Mine on UK TV (42,325) by Holly from UK Wow, I was flipping through the UK music channels an hour ago and Flava (yes this is how it's spelt, lol) were playing "You're Mine (Eternal)" remix video on their Sickest Beatz programme.
