Mariah's voice (48,143)
by Justin from USA - Los Angeles
| |
|
|
Idk what [...] talking about Marcus. But Mariah Carey in her worst will always slay all the current artists out there. She simply has [...] of this generation. She may not be the most popular artist but she definetly still has the voice. Idk if you checked out when she performed "The Elisove Chanteuse Show", but she had some killer vocal moments towards the end. I agree, do you like Mariah Carey? Or are you an Arianator sneaking their way onto this messageboard?

I think Mariah is going to slay this performance. After the Tokyo debacle and the media attention that night, she's going to sing live and slay. Her voice is in fine form, it improved with each night of the tour. Mariah will always top the chats every year this time of the year.

This post has a leaked track listing from what I believe was the original TAOLG album. You'll see Make It Look Good, You're Mine, YDKWTD and TAOLG were all there originally. No mention of Supernatural though.

Both are playing Mariah's Christmas music and introducing a new generation to Mariah. I think Mariah's vocal peak or prime was 1994. Glad that these kids are getting to hear a real singer, who has written some of the greatest songs of all time.

What are you talking about? I still enjoy Mariah's voice and I expect I always will. Baby wasn't saying her voice still sounds like it used to. Are you even a fan? Just wondering.

My favorite Mariah ensemble (48,136)
by Dove from USA

If Mariah decided to pull a Albert Einstein/Mark Zuckerberg and wear the same thing everyday, I vote for this ensemble. She looks perfect IMO. I guess she did used to do that until people started complaining. She used to always wear little black dresses, jeans, jean shorts, and the white spaghetti strap tops. Remember in Cribs how she had a whole stack of them?

Baby, baby, one more time? (48,135)
by Marcus from Brazil

Baby's delusion: "Mariah is in great shape vocally and always has been. The only difference is that the frequency of her live performances has increased magnanimously from her debut to now." If there were a cult called Mariah, you would definitely be a hardcore indoctrinated member. In your eyes, Mariah is a victim of all her circumstances, Nick, the media, her friends, her so called fans, her nodules. She is not responsible for anything, she's just been wronged. Mariah is definitely in good shape vocally, but to say great would be an overstatement. Up until 2000 she delivered 6, 9, 12 and 19 shows per tour respectively, with 2 and 3 years in between, how is that magnanimous? The Charmbracelet tour put her in great shape vocally because she delivered 69 shows, her biggest tour so far. Since then her live performances have decreased dramatically. Mariah is a human being with problems like the rest of us, she's not a goddess who can't do not wrong, she makes mistakes and goes through what most of us go through. Be realistic with your ranting if you want to be taken seriously.

In honor of AIWFCIY and Mariah's quips (48,134)

This throwback gem is still one of my favorites by our Queen. American Idol contestant: "All I Want For Christmas is the best modern-day Christmas song." Nicki Minaj: "It sure was, wasn't it?" Mariah: "Still is, dahling. No. 1 last year. Seventeen years later, it's still No.1" Make that 20.

Mariah's voice is in better shape than Whitney's was. I'm not dissing Whitney, she's my second favorite singer of all time. If Mariah was an alcoholic like Whitney was, of course Whitney did cocaine and crack which is what ruined her voice. Mariah may drink but she's not an alcoholic. She's not stupid, she knows it would ruin her voice. She most likely drinks in moderation, taking her voice into consideration.

Mariah Carey blooper reel (48,132)
by Darryle from USA

I just rewatched a video back from when Mariah was promoting #Beautiful. At one point she said "You make the beat go." Those are lines from Supernatural and the video was posted in July of 2013. I wonder how many songs that were originally supposed to be on the album made it to the album? So far Supernatural and YDKWTD were probably on the original album.

Splashes of hot cocoa with butterscotch schnapps would go great with AIWFCIY at #13 and Merry Christmas at #12 on Swedish iTunes today, right? I'll be having warm Christmas wine with raisins, nuts and spices like I always do. *plays Merry Christmas CD*

It's about supporting your favorite artist and helping them get back on the charts. If they're on the charts people will talk about it and it could gain her new fans. Also, if she's popular she's more likely to release new music. It's $6 in the US, which is pretty inexpensive. It would have been nice for more tracks to be included but it was started by fans, not the people releasing the music.

For some reason the audio at the end wasn't working. Anywho, I am glad fans of Ally McBeal got to hear such a fantastic song. It's always bugged me over the years more people didn't get to hear Lead The Way. IMO, it's one of her best ballads, so raw and emotional. Thanks for the reminder Lee. I need to listen to that song again.

Just because you yourselves can't handle splashes without drinking a whole bottle doesn't mean everybody else can't. And what does Mariah's 20 year old schtick about florescent lighting have to do with anything other than comedy? That's how weak your material is, that you have to use filler to make a post because your examples are as flimsy as it gets. You really should get help for your addiction to bullshit. I'm sure if you reached out to Mariah in earnest, she would put you through rehab. Or at the very least she would pray for you. Merry Christmas.

Hi Mariah. I just want to say that I have loved your music since I was a little girl and I still do. Matter of fact you and Whitney Houston are my all time favorites ever. But I am just so torn about you and Nick. It would be so wonderful if you and him could get back together. I really was hoping that your marrage with him would make it. Anyways just my thoughts. Happy Holidays.

I'm watching MTV this morning and if Mariah had released Thirsty as a single, with a great video directed by Brett or Paul, it could have been as big as Black Widow. The similarities between those songs are obvious. I can't believe Katy Perry wrote part of that song. She must of have been listening to Mariah for inspiration, lol.

Well (48,116)
by Lee TS from USA

I'm sorry but if you can't see that Mariah enjoys her splashes of festive celebrations then I can't even know what to say. Like hello, she coined the word splashes. I think lambs have skirted around the idea like, "Oh she sounded great during MC2You when she was pregnant" etc. I mean, that one time when she gave that speech with Lee Daniels, ok they were celebrating, fine. But moments like riding an elevator complaining about the horrendous lighting with a glass in hand, or downing a glass right before going on stage, and having drinks in every freaking radio interview. Her voice has lost a lot of its ability even with studio recordings. When I first heard TAOLG it took me forever to get used to her voice, it sounded so chipmunk-ish the way she was singing. And I remember hearing One More Try and thought what she could've done with it during the Music Box era. It's little things like that I guess. I just hope she's doing everything to protect and care for her voice.
