Re: Carol (47,805) by nikki from usa
You do realize stating that the US lambs "didn't care" about the album while stating you knew we bought several copies is an oxymoron onto itself, right? Mariah rarely ever tours the US period. She also jipped us out of the Daydream and Butterfly tours. What was the reason for that? It couldn't be because we didn't buy enough. We broke records with sales and singles. We also bought over a million copies of #Beautiful last year. Her sales have been low in Australia and critics are far worse over here. Most likely, she won't be able to sell out arenas. As much as I'd love for her to come over here, I don't think it's wise now and she doesn't need anymore bad press. I think she should finish her tour and do her Christmas rounds. I hope Christmas is a special that gets televised, especially if she wants to make it annual. Then, get back to working on that voice and do new material.

Walter (47,804) by Bill from the UK
Why are we speculating? Walter himself said what happened. Mariah separated from Tommy, and as far as she was concerned, you were either on his side or hers. Walter's hands were tied because he was under contract at Sony. She felt he should have considered their friendship and partnership ahead of that, but he didn't. He said all this in an interview not that long ago. She's moved on and her music grew in breadth as a consequence which was a great thing. It proved that nobody was indispensable. Sure, I love songs like And You Don't Remember, When I Saw You and Anytime You Need A Friend, and I wonder what work they'd be doing now had they remained friends. But at what cost? No We Belong Together, Fly Like A Bird, Can't Take That Away? I feel the same about Ben Margulies. Had their partnership remained, maybe we'd have no Hero, All I Want For Christmas Is You and One Sweet Day.

Walter (47,802) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Lambs, seriously why are we all still on about the Walter dude? It's gone, let it go, They haven't worked together since 1997, why are you all suddenly missing him after like 17 years now? Yes they certainly made a lot of great music together, some of which are the songs most loved by her fans, but I seriously don't see why so many of you are desperate for her to get back with him? We don't know what went wrong and if Mariah doesn't want to work with him, she won't do it. If she chooses to work with him, that's her decision too. Even after Butterfly Mariah has continued to make amazing masterpieces and memorable songs. It's not like without Walter her songs have deteriorated. Infact I am happy that she is making songs she loves and I for one enjoy them. Don't get me wrong, I love the big ballads and all, but I absolutely adore Mariah's hip hop and R&B touches. Now people have different tastes and everyone has the right to talk about anything on this board, but this Walter thing is like going on for too long. Mariah is doing fine without him. Her music never failed to amaze me. She keeps upping her game with each album and each song. The kind of variety MC has given us, I doubt many other artists can claim that.

Big Jim warns the US lambily, I agree (47,801) by Carol from Spain
Big Jim's tweet about warning the lambs about the US tour is right on. US lambily didn't respond to the record, it's true. Honestly, they failed and didn't care and now they want Mariah to tour. I know many fans bought the album, several copies and stuff but she can't tour the US with just 125,000 albums sold. It''s not right. Maybe I'm wrong. Please don't bash me for being saying my mind. I honestly don't know what to think about it. I just think Big Jim is spot on with that tweet.

Natalia who? (47,800) by Carol from Spain
That Natalie girl is trying to make a name for herself at any cost and nothing speaks fame like involving Mariah's name into a contorversy. Obviously Mariah didn't even know she was on and the support acts are chosen by the label. It's quite sad Australian media give this girl any credit. The interesting part is that Mariah fans go to her page to comment on her posts and she deletes our comments, allowing her followers to praise her as the loser she is. I don't doubt the girl can sing (simply because I never heard her and now I'm not interested) but why does she think she's a competition for Mariah? What bothers me is the cinicism of it all: she did this but she was awsome and she is still the best blah blah blah. Uh you're thirsty? You used to be all about M now you're just looking for celebrity - quoting the queen because I can.

Marcel (47,792) by B from USA
The truth of the matter is Mariah wanted to take her music in a different direction, one Walter was uncomfortable with. I've read all the interviews and I came by my conclusion by taking what they both said and leaving the rest out like the Cole rumors. It's not a rumor that Walter was loyal to Tommy. Mariah didn't and doesn't need Walter or Tommy. Do your homework before you say we don't know what we're talking about.

[...] (47,791) by Ty from USA
I'm going Saturday to the show and ready for the magic. Hopefully we won't get a copy of the tv show she did. The Walter conversation is a wrap. He's like an shady ex lover to her. They had those moments and she's done. He can't be trusted. I say we move on. They had magic but it's over now. He can't mysteriously appear and make her sing like she did 25 years ago. [...] is still a classic. You lambs do realize he sold her out. Right. You all go on and on about him. He's a member of sing sing. No bueno.

The female opening act (47,790) by Orkun from The Netherlands
Looking at this girl's response, I'd say Mariah knew this before hand and eliminated the deal. Mariah saw through her. I love it. Girl, you're thirsty.

Christmas concert (47,788) by Darryle from USA
I'm really mad Mariah's only keeping the concert in New York. I get why she's doing it. It being so close to Christmas she wants to stay close to home. It just sucks that no one else gets to see it. She's on tour until November then she has the concert then she'll go to Jamaica in February. Hopefully she'll release these in official video form. It would suck to miss out on it because of location.

Miss you most at Christmas time (47,787) by Ty from USA
Mimi always disappoints with her setlist. No Faded, no Camouflage, no Thanks For Nothing, no Love Takes Time, no Lead The Way. Same songs usually for most of the show. Can she please do Miss You Most At Christmas Time? Am I asking too much? That's the song lambs want to hear.

O Holy Night (47,786) by Darryle from USA
O my gosh (pun intended). I just listened to this song for the first time. And I feel anointed. I'm not huge on Christmas songs especially slow ones but this did something to me. It touched me, the way her voice just fits the song perfectly. She made me feel the words you can just feel her pouring her emotions into it. It's official this song just put me in the holiday spirit. Time to get festive.

Ty (47,785) by Mara from United States
Ty, I hope to God she does Miss You Most. I adore that song so much. That and of course her version of Oh Holy Night would be amazing. And Christmas Time is in the air with a stunning white dress like the tree lighting performance. Or wouldn't it be nice if she changed it up and did Nat King Cole's the Christmas Song or Last Christmas by Wham or some other classic she has yet to do. After all it is a Christmas concert. Maybe even bring Patricia out for a live duet since it's NYC. Oh my, can you tell I'm excited? I'm loving that we got tickets today and we don't have to wait that long for the show either. MC thank you for giving us this special surprise. We love you, appreciate you and adore you. And Faded would be amazing.

Nikki you're totally wrong (47,784) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
Walter Afanasieff has had a lot of success on his own. He's the composer, something Mariah is not. What you guys are writing about her (B from USA) is so false/misinformed. You'd read the truth on all that. The fight they had wasn't because of that. If the ballads on Butterfly weren't that produced was because they parted ways and he wasn't able to finish them on time. If he has expressed that he'd like to work with her again is not because he is in need. It's just that he's humble, And is open to reconcile. He has said it was a silly fight and that MC should had understood he was her friend but also a Tommy employee that couldn't take a side and support her the way she wanted him to, like leaving the label and going her way.

Emotions intro in Perth (47,781) by LC from USA

Did anyone see this? Mariah sang the Emotions intro live in Perth for the first time since Music Box Tour (correct me if I'm wrong). It starts around the 2:40 mark. She sounds incredible. It's amazing to me how much she's improved. She's back. Of course the media won't talk about this because they choose to focus on stupid, unnecessary issues, but whatever. All that matters is that Mariah is still the queen.

Congratulations on scoring your tickets. It was very difficult. I spent all morning first trying to do the Citi presale and the was nothing for that and then the fanclub presale at 11:00. Kept getting nothing for that too. I had to get them on Stubhub.

The drama of [..] tickets and [...] (47,779) by Ty from USA
The drama today of getting these tickets and the high demand message drove me crazy. The Honey B Fly pass was a gimmick and really pissed me off. They beat me for $20 and charged me twice. I finally had a friend try again and we got tickets. Mariah hopefully knows the hell we went through to get these tickets. Lambs we have to meet up and make it happen. Let's IG or email each other. I swear I'm gonna scream Faded every 2 minutes. Faded Faded FadedFfaded until she sings a snippet. We need to turn-up for Mimi. The USA does love [...]. Lord please let her sing MIss You Most At Christmas time, I would fall the hell out in the aisle and literally die lol.

Christmas concert (47,777) by Gilles from Malta
That was really hard to get tickets for Bacon street concert. It took me 2 hours and a half to get 2 tickets. I really though that it was impossible Typing captcha maybe 200 times and the website saying "High demands, no tickets available." It was a real hassle but I did it. It was my dream to see her perform live only her Christmas songs since Merry Christmas was out. When you wish something very strong it happens. I'm so happy Christmas is in advance for me. My wallet is empty but I thank God for giving that opportunity. Who is going there as well the 16th of December?

Hi, Mara. I live in Bethlehem, about two hours from NYC. I am not a member of Honey B. Fly, so I cannot purchase tickets today. I will next Monday, which is my birthday. I would love to have other lambs to go with, but I need to know soon because we'll be purchasing the tickets together. You can email me directly at monroe0626@yahoo.com (the 0 is a zero, not a letter). I hope to hear from you, Mara.

Creative differences (47,772) by B from USA
Mariah and Walter had a failing out during the making of Butterfly. Mariah wanted her songs, especially the ballads, to be less over produced. She wanted her music to sound more Urban/R&B and she wanted to work with R&B and Hip-hop producers and artist which she did. Walter disliked the musical direction Mariah was taking and probably told Tommy. He most likely complained that she was deviating from the formula and that she was going to alienate her fan base. Tommy then voiced these concerns and when he did Mariah knew that Walter was behind his concerns, since Mariah had banned Tommy from the studio. Walter spoke about these issues when asked what ended his working relationship with Mariah. Mariah proved she knew what she was doing and Walter was wrong. She created the musical masterpiece that is Butterfly and continued to incorporate her love for Hip-hop and R&B into her music giving her longevity and garnering her Grammy Awards for R&B Album of the Year, R&B Song of the Year and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Walter's career stalled just like Celine and the other artist who shunned Hip-hop and R&B?

Musical parallels of MC/MJ (47,771) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Mariah Carey is to Walter Afanasieff what Michael Jackson was and still is to Quincy Jones. It doesn't mean that either producer isn't a valuable part of these legendary artist's life work. But, there is a limit to how much credit they can take for the musical and intellectual properties that are the basis of MC and MJ's successes. At a certain point it starts looking less like professional and artistic pride and more like resentment, rather unnecessarily too, since no one is or has disputed their contributions to the legacies of MC and MJ. Especially not the artists themselves. So the question is: Why do you want a big parade only where Mariah is concerned Walter? I don't even think he gets how annoying it must be for her that he continuously muddies the waters every time he does an interview and their writing partnership comes up. Imagine the conversations he's had in private, in the industry, at parties or wherever. Yet Mariah still has to make sure people know that she writes and produces all of her own songs, every chance she gets, 26 years in the game. Why do you think she does that, for her health? So even though Mariah is probably completely over whatever caused their falling out, she will never work with Walter again. Walter was the one who turned his back on their friendship and partnership. He chose to stick with Tommy. Sorry, but you had your chance.
