You can see the band and backing singers were loving her performance too. I hope everyone on this board who's been saying she can't sing anymore watches that video and their faith gets restored. Mariah's voice (47,483) by Dan from US She might of had a cold, she could of been crying all the time because of all the personal things in her life. Imagine crying and being upset and then knowing you have to go out and perform. I doubt that's good for anyone's voice. She's human and she can still sing. Her voice is not gone. Tianjin performances (47,482) by LC from USA Seeing videos from this concert I was speechless. I really think that Mariah saw the criticism and learned from it. Or she really was just sick on the first few dates because her voice is in good condition again. That "Emotions" performance had incredible fifth octave mid belts and easily rivals or trumps her performances of that song in Australia last year. Also, her runs were incredible in that performance. She did some runs that she's never done before. She was confident and went for almost all of the higher belts that she dodged (almost embarrassingly) in the past dates. Then, her whisper voice, which was basically gone in the first few dates is fully back, as can be heard in her performances of ABMB and My All. Also, that buttery and beautiful tone and fluidity she has is already back, which you can see in Hero and WBT. Basically, those of you who said her voice was completely gone, think again, because Mariah is back. (Saturday 18 October 2014; 15:41)

Mariah is worth half a billion dollars and is friends with several high profile designers. The black dress with the high slit looks like someone took a bolt of material, tied some of it around her body and said, "There you go." Mariah can and should do better with her fashion. Incredibly amazing lamb (47,478) by JAXGH from United States Hey you guys. I know it's very hard to see anyone do justice to an MC song. But I've discovered this girl, she is a die-hard lamb, so please come check her out. She reminds me of Mariah a lot. MC never did this song live so this is the closest we can get. She emulates Mariah's vocals but she does it so flawlessly and with her own signature voice/tone. It's just amazing to see how talented lambs can be and how much MC actually influence other vocal talents. Mariah would smile if she sees her sing. I really don't want to do any type of advertisement but I really need to share how amazing this girl is. Please tell me what you think of this lamb, she is one of us. Oh sure, I've resolved myself to know it will never get the public praise it deserves. But then, when I hear comments like that, I can't help but get mad again. YDKWTD sounds so great in the car and would have blown up on radio with the right promotion. *sigh* Oh well, it is what it is. Just crap this guy says stuff to cover his own behind. Extremes are not healthy nor productive, and IMO extreme viewpoints lead to more drama/arguments. I like how the webmaster posts any article related to Mariah. It allows for more discussion. Tour / random thoughts (47,473) by Lara from Middle East We barely see news about Mariah's tour. Apart from the first gig which was relatively bad. I got no feedback on her other perfomances (vocally, not "clothingly" lol ). You can see that her performances are getting better, but sadly this isn't reported. She sang My All in Spanish, for a change, no comments from the press. Even on YouTube, videos are scarce. Surprisingly I haven't seen any video reporting her singing her new "elusive" songs. I read the comments about her voice. Yes, it has changed, she seems to have more difficulty to sing like before, but still she's singing better than anyone now on the scene. I wonder if her vocal cords got injured when she [censored] and if she had surgery for her shoulder, they could have been further damage done? Finally, I love her interaction with her backup singers, they re doing a great job. (Friday 17 October 2014; 10:36)

Perhaps it's time for Mariah to leave Def Jam (47,472) by James from USA She's only had one really successful album with the label unfortunately, and I don't think they're doing her any favors as far as promoting her as an artist. I think she needs an extended break, and think she should release music by doing features and maybe movie soundtrack type stuff. Would be cool to see Mariah feature in a movie and do a couple of songs for a movie. She just needs to retool herself as an artist and dial things back a little bit, I think. Steve Bartels comments on Elusive Chanteuse (47,471) by ADAM from USA I was thinking about Def Jam CEO Steve's comments about Mariah's poor performance for her latest CD and I think it's a copeout. I believe Mariah created great music that would have resonated with the public had the label given MC a budget to actually make videos and a real campaign to launch Thristy, Meteorite, and YDKWTD as singles. With the amount of exposure JLo got, I believe Mariah would have secured her next #1 song. The sick beats and great upbeat choruses are fire and easy to hear on radio, streaming music, or clubs. Any one of those songs would have been a hit. Yes Mariah lost her range and texture but she knows how to craft a hit in today's market and it's such a shame she will not be able to have another credit to her name especially with such great material. I consider this CD even better than anything on Memoirs or E=MC2. Maybe the re-release will create a hit for this era like Don't Forget About Us did. Any thoughts? (Friday 17 October 2014; 5:43)

Two long years ago, when Mariah was recording her album, they were already saying it was going to bomb. When she released it, they kept saying it was nothing like the 90's. Now, that she is touring, they keep complaining about her voice. They sound like little kids when their mommy says they can't get ice cream. It sounds immature to keep dwelling like that. Webmaster / balance / hope (47,469) by Edward from USA Eric, thanks for not allowing this messageboard to turn into a boring "Mariah can't do no wrong let's all hold hands hit a high note and praise the queen" messageboard. It is a Mariah messageboard, and we all expect mostly positive things to be posted, but I do also believe in balance. I believe in questioning and expressing respectfully our concerns pertaining Mariah's career. As for those posts you guys don't like, just skip them, I do. At this point those who can't take Mariah "as is" should consider moving on or falling back on her extensive back catalog. I don't personally enjoy her current live performances anymore, but I long for her music though. As long as she releases good music even if she has to piecemeal every song, so be it. I've always been intrigued as to why her voice keeps on declining, but I'm not dwelling on that anymore. At the end of the day, it is her voice, career, sales, #1's, boobs, drink, weaves, and everything in between. I wish the best for Mariah. I still hope for a technique, a vocal coach, or something that could bring some consistency to her voice. Even though I'm less hopeful, I haven't completely lost hope. (Friday 17 October 2014; 0:46)

The report on MCArchives is not credible. The press in China is ran by the council. I will choose to believe the press anyday. I don't understand that I can't write a letter to the editor of this bad publishing. I am surprised Mariah Archives posted it with the other one posted earlier today saying Mariah's career is over and that her last multiplatinum hit was early 2000s. Lies. I have read all press releases that are made on mariahdaily.com or seperate website claiming she had sold out of 4 of 5. The 1 out of fifth is Yokohama, Japan and don't know details yet. I think people are forgetting Mariah has nothing to prove anymore, she already proved she could sing a long time ago. It's enough to see the dislikers pull everything apart now, but to see her own fanbase do it? It's painful to me to come to every fanbase message board and defend her because it seems like every fan lost their interest. I agree when Andrew says her music doesn't sparkle interest anymore but that doesn't mean the music is bad, it's just a reflection of the ages. Don't blame her for that. Back to business: Andrew, some put you and me in the same category. And they are right. My posts were very similar to yours and I take it as a compliment. You joined the message board right after I left. I yet have to find a post of yours that I disagree with. To me, you are someone who honestly loves Mariah. And for that, you use tough love sometimes. Same here. How some think we are full of hatered is beyond me. Everyone is a Mariah fan here. So to some I say: Step out of your blamer ego and get real. Who gives you the right to say those? No on said you can't post negative reviews, many people including myself posted many negative reviews. But your reviews are always aggressive and insulting and it just seems like you hate everything about MC (and her fans) now. I am sure most will agree that even if your intentions are good (assuming you want the best for MC), your delivery, the way you write your messages is extremely mean and aggressive. Having strong opinions is one thing, but always coming off as a bully is a whole other thing. It's understandable that you might have complaints about how MC handled her career, but seriously nothing positive at all? You say she should record radio friendly songs, and I am sure she will have no problems in doing it but then there will be people saying she is following what's "current" and demand that she goes back to singing those big ballads she is famous for. Holding a career on for 25 years is not easy. The day you achieve that come here and rub it on our faces. It's easy to sit and judge. Don't for a second think that MC's recent lack of success bothers us more than it bothers her.
