MIAM (45,295) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales Regardless of performance, this album is one of Mariah's greatest achievements, and there has clearly been so much effort and love put into this collection of songs. Whether she wants out of the label or not is frankly of little interest to me. I just hope nobody feels validation in calling the album poor to justify their belief that Mariah wants to leave the label. I'm sure it's true that she wants to leave at this point, but before she did, she created a diamond out of dung. (Thursday 10 July 2014; 15:15)

No YDKWTD audio/lyrics video on Vevo, again (45,292) by Edward from USA Well, after certain age, many people keep wanting their favorite artists to be successful. Mariah's brand is about good music and success, if it weren't, they wouldn't introduce her as the best selling female artist of all time, or the female with the most #1's on billboard. Implying fans should just listen to the good music and shut the f*ck up is utterly ridiculous. I love Sarah McLachlan's music, whenever she drops an album, I follow her just for the sake of her beautiful voice and music, but she wasn't ever sold to us as the mega star that Mariah is. Yes, MIAMTEC's chance at success rested on #Beautiful, those who don't want to see that should get glasses. IDJ invested on Clear Channel airplay to push it, then the video, but everything turn into a mess. If I just wanted to listen to Mariah's good music, I wouldn't even bother posting in here. Fans are about the brand, the package, not just the good music, unless the artist was originally sold that way to the audience. (Thursday 10 July 2014; 2:26)

New single (45,291) by G.G. from USA YDKWTD was released on July 1st as an official single. Today is the 9th. There is still no audio or lyric video on YouTube or Vevo that would help the song chart better. Mariah is worth a half a billion dollars, if the label won't pay for these things she definitely can afford to do them herself or ask a creative lamb to do it for her. Instead of promoting the single properly I see her posting sexy pictures and pictures promoting her Butterfly drink. I really think she doesn't care about selling any more copies of this album or single. I'm over this entire album debacle. Hopefully she gets her crap together, learns from her gigantic mistakes and does a better job next time. Here's hoping. (Thursday 10 July 2014; 0:51)

Thoughts (45,289) by clueey23 from USA I'm too busy enjoying the album itself to care about YouTube and lyric videos. At a certain age you learn to let go of what you can't change, instead of being confused and upset about it. Who knows what the future holds for this era. I'm thinking more accolades, like Grammys in 2015 instead of a quick blip on Billboards radar. I don't think MIAM needs a single to carry it actually, because the album is that freaking fantastic. And it's already had like 5 songs released to the public including "YDKWTD". What we could use is just a simple media blitz. And have her shut down all the bs that's been said about her in the past couple of months, wearing a pair of jeans and heels and a nice sexy chic top, with her hair pulled back so everyone can look into her eyes, so people can understand that she is a grown woman with grown woman responsibilities. And I could care less really about how the public/media is trying to portray her. What would be even better is if she just uploaded a nice little video just to say hi and thank us for our support and update us with what might be happening in the near future. I also agree with your observation that Mariah hasn't changed the way most stars do and totally lose themselves in the process. It's truly all in her eyes, those big bright bambi innocent eyes. YDKWTD / Vevo (45,287) by Edward from USA YDKWTD is officially a single, and it is so strange that there's not an official Vevo audio/lyrics video yet. They must be playing a radio edit of the song on the radio, but we wouldn't know what it sounds like if it weren't for TheRereMariahCarey who has been posting different versions of the song on YouTube, like no rap, instrumental, radio edit. I think that this is it with this album. #Beautiful seemed to have been the single that was going to carry this album, but sadly we all know how it went. So true Shelly about DFAU (45,285) by Jamie from UK Mariah should've been #1 on the sexiest women lists in 2005 because she was perfection that year. I mean just watch the video for Don't Forget About Us or Get Your Number. Breathtaking beauty lol. I love a lot of her music videos for different reasons, standouts for me being Heartbreaker, Honey and Touch My Body. You can just tell a lot of effort went into making them and they're so fun to watch. It's such a pleasant surprise when she does something different or unexpected like dancing or dressing up (loved Obsessed for that). She has some bad videos but damn Auld Lang Syne wins the Razzie for worst music video, it doesn't get cringier than that. It's like watching my mother dance lol. I would have released YDKWTD as a single on Valentine's Day with a all white modern take on a disco themed video. The album would've included thrown away tracks like Hope Street, Triumphant, Almost Home and others as the bonus tracks and the leftover Angels Advocate tracks as a second CD. The album cover would've been the YDKWTD single cover and two weeks before the album, I would've released Meteorite with a singing competition parody typed video. (Tuesday 8 July 2014; 23:15)

Our idol (45,283) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales Hey Bill. What you wrote in your reply was so good to read. I think everyone on this board can read that and feel that it applies to them as as well. When you revisit Mariah's past in performances or interviews, you can fall in love with her all over again. I know sometimes my own fan status wanes a little, but I catch an interview or hear a song and think "How could you ever believe you could fall out of love with this woman." I know Mariah is not the exact same as she was back then, but I know that she was and still is that girl we fell in love with. Even now when I see her, I still see the same infallible determination and fire in her eyes. It's all about the eyes. They still sparkle with so much intensity and I think "She's still here." It's my idol, our idol, Mariah. She may be older, a lot wiser, have larger breasts, bigger ego etc but she is still that same person. I believe that because I see it, always in the eyes. And I think Mariah would be so sad to read that people had given up on her/failed to see her. She's always wanted to be "seen" as she is for who she is (Looking In). And sometimes we all need a brief little reminder, to help ourselves remember. It's our Mariah. The last of the truly talented living legends, the superstars. Fav / least fav videos (45,277) by TR from USA I'll do the top three for both. Most favorites: O Holy Night - She nailed it, and she knew she nailed it. Crybaby - Visual candy. Heartbreaker - Good story, nice chick fight, and I didn't even mind much her "rhythm" during the dances. The Rainbow era videos were amazing. I'll put Always Be My Baby, Breakdown, and Miss You Most At Christmas Time for honorable mentions. Least favorites: Auld Lang Syne - She could have and should have kept that. Looked like somebody's 5th grade science project. I Stay In Love - Tried to be Breakdown and it wasn't. Bye Bye - Because it was the beginning of the end. Who hired Nick Cannon to be in it? It was wonderful to read and it made me realise that I have been harsh on Mariah recently. I love her, and she is a beautiful person (in every possible way), and like you I am not sure what I would do without her. It may seem obvious to many, but it hit home after I read your message and then played MTV Unplugged (my favourite album), that her voice is an absolute joy and pleasure to listen to, that I would happily fill my days playing her songs, and that she has been an inspiration to me in many, many ways. Favourite video (45,275) by tadatorao from japan My favorite video is Honey. Needless to explain why. Heartbreaker comes close. Even Madonna copies the animation concept in Music and the catfight scene in Die Another Day. I was amazed that an innovative artist like Madonna had to copy from Mariah who wasn't that well known for her creativity in the video department. My least favourite is I Wanna Know What Love Is. Videos (45,274) by Bill from the UK My favourites would be Loverboy, The Roof, I Still Believe and the colour version of AIWFCIY. I need to give a special mention to all the videos for the Emotions albums. I think that period really cemented Mariah's look, as the first few videos from the debut looked like they didn't quite know how to dress her, do her hair, make up etc, that they all compliment and set each other off. In 1991 her look was really great and I loved the filters on Emotions, the setting for CLG, that kind of mansion hot house she was in, and the church setting of MIH all were brilliant. Very confused and concerned (45,273) by SC from USA Hi guys, first of all I'm a big fan of the new album. I listen to it all the time and I love it more as time goes by. Here's my concern. Today is July 8th. Everyone gave YDKWTD a great review and it's by far the biggest "hit" on the album. All reviewers pointed at this song as a potential contender for song of the summer. Where is it? There's a clear disconnect with MC, JD, and the record label, so we know they have lots of problems behind the scenes, but where's the promo? Do they really want to wait until September or October for this? JD keeps talking about other stuff, so the focus on MC (at least on his twitter) is non-existent. He talked about us getting more details "ASAP", but where is it? This is not fair to her fans. We believe in this song and we're behind it, so now show us that you care and at least give us some details on a video or something. What's going on? It really frustrates me because MC wants people to really listen to the album in it completion. OK, but how does she expect for people to hear the album if the sales are this bad? Meaning that people probably don't even know there's an album out. If they give the general audience a song to listen to, then they will gravitate to the album "in its completion" isn't that a better strategy? I just don't know what the disconnect is. Really, all of the videos from the "Butterfly" album were great. I also secretly love "Loverboy" because of how outrageous it is and how much fun Mariah appeared to be having.
