Old songs (45,803) by Dove from USA Going back a few days we were discussing Mariah singing her older hits more often than her newer stuff. I was thinking about it and I think this is why people say she's a has-been. She always sings Hero, ABMB, WBT, etc. I know these are her biggest hits but it makes it seem to people who don't follow her as closely as we do that she doesn't have any good new songs. There are a bunch of songs on MIAM that could have helped make entertaining, high energy performances. She just needs better petformances and better videos. (Monday 4 August 2014; 16:41)

Meteorite performance (45,802) by Dove from USA I was just happy to see her, I missed her face. I liked her hair and makeup, I liked her outfit, I agree it was sexy without being vulgar. The only thing is that it would have looked better with nude underwear. I actually like the song because it sounds superficial but it's actually personal. It's the type of song that she doesn't have to move around the whole stage but maybe should should hire someone to choreograph some dramatic hand movements or something. She moved way more in her GMA performance of YDKWTD. I didn't think about it until someone mentioned it but maybe she is going through stuff and doesn't want to be there. After thinking about it I was reminded of 2007 VMA's and Britney Spears. (Monday 4 August 2014; 16:35)

The following part is not meant for you per se. And to be fair, if people really think that my posts are ill intended, they really are very wrong and don't have the courage to speak up. What I see is (not all), there are many pessimistic people here who claim they are optimistic. The "yes man". One so called optimist even says "I don't care if she playbacks". I don't even have words for that. Yea, let her be her own DJ in her concerts Mr/Mrs Optimist. At least a few thousand people agree with the "optimists" globally. Just checked the view count on YouTube. I am a professional musician and to me, you settled down for this. I didn't. She is able to do much better. Yes, let me be the pessimist. What a joke. I imagine her singing it while wearing the leotard looking thing she wore when she sang I Want To Know What Love Is on The View. WMA "performance" (45,799) by Lee from UK This performance was everything I have come to expect from a live Mariah performance: mostly lip synced, underwhelming, and lacking of energy, dancers helping her walk around the stage etc. There were just enough tricks in their to make the non-fans believe she may have been singing live but for the rest of us in the know it was laughable. I really dislike the song Meteorite, I skip it as soon as the intro begins. My boyfriend thought it was a Madonna song. Why choose a song that has so much post production on it that would make it almost impossible to sing live convincingly? Mariah could have made an acoustic version of the song that would make it easier to sing live. I know it was the "opening number" and had to be full of energy but surely MILG would have been a better choice. After all, it's the only song on the album worth listening to more than once in a row. And yes, that is exactly what Katy Perry means with the Mariah Carey karaoke lyrics, I just didn't want to be that specific in my Katy Perry post as sometimes posting on here is too tiring due to the abuse you get in return and if you couldn't figure the dig out then I felt it was better leaving people in ignorance. I can see how people can perceive Orkun as having a negative attitude but I see him as a realist who was and is passionate about the fantastic artist Mariah Carey was. That she is no longer that person/artist doesn't invalidate his experience or opinion as a fan. Besides that, I don't think it's fair to judge someone on their past comments and use that as ammunition now. More than one of you are guilty of offending another (whether offence should ever be taken or not is a different matter) and in this instance, his comment was correct. (Monday 4 August 2014; 15:25)

WMA performance (45,797) by Darryle from USA I watched her perform Meteorite and I wasn't really impressed and to be honest I don't really care. As long when she's touring she brings her A game and sings live works the stage and all that jazz. On a side note the acceptance speech was great. I really enjoy watching her acceptance speeches because you really get to see how much she appreciates us as her fans and how thankful she is for what she has. (Monday 4 August 2014; 15:22)

It’s never a good feeling if somebody does that and directs it at one particular person. It’s not only about Mariah on this messageboard but also us as fans/lambs/optimists/pessimists etc. There will always be 2 groups, the pessimists and the optimists. WMA and Meteorite (45,795) by THE TRUTH from USA Mariah is in no condition to be out there doing what she's doing. She is being exploited by her handlers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what's going on. Very sad. As far as the song, yes it could have legs in the clubs but is that really what she needs right now? Besides it really is more suited for a non singer, JLo or Madonna maybe. Mariah needs a monster ballad but more than anything she needs to take time off, rest, and go back to the drawing board without all the leeches, vultures, and parasites she's surrounded by. Re: Angelo from Italy and the never ending negativity from some (45,792) by MimiLamb from Germany When you are so tired of her, when you think she's so boring and isn't behaving like a singer but as an actress, than stop being a fan of hers. The acceptance speech she gave and the special shoutout to the Lambily made me happy but also very sad, a big part of her fanbase are bashing her nonstop and here she is thanking them. But ofcourse nobody is talking about that on this messageboard, only about the performance and how bad it was. It makes clear that some just look for the negative because the positive isn't even mentioned. Personally I would love for Mariah to sing live as much as she can, because enough of us do believe she's still able to do just that. But it is what it is. Either you can deal with it or you can't, simple as that. As for the negativity, it's always the same people, so as soon as I see their names I skip their messages. (Monday 4 August 2014; 14:04)

And if you're not putting her or her music down, you're criticizing her. Enough, I can't stop you from posting. But I can give it to you straight and tell it how it is. I could care less about Mariah's live singing. If and when she does sing live, great. I'll be waiting. But if that doesn't happen (which I'm sure it will) it's not going to affect or change how I feel about her. She's clearly going through something with her voice. Maybe it's the nodules? Who knows, but we're supposed to be supporting her. Not criticizing or knocking her down. It's always her hair, her weight, what she wears, her voice, the lip performances. She looked great, loved the ending, and what a song to open up the WMAs with. I agree with Anthony below, she's got nothing to prove and is a living legend. Meteorite live (45,785) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales I'll start off by saying it's one of the best songs on the album and so unexpected. It's like Mariah doing a Madonna better than Madonna does her. As for the performance, I don't know if it was lipped and I'm not sure I care. I loved watching this, I had a smile on my face the whole time, and the final whistle gave me life. Whenever I see Mariah now, I'm no longer watching an artist rise and fight her way to the top. I'm seeing a legend. And I fall in love with her all over again. Thank you Mariah. You are phenomenal. (Monday 4 August 2014; 9:42)

Meteorite (45,784) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter What a disappointment. I never really got into this song but I know a lot of fans love it. What was she doing? She was standing so stiff, not a single move, not even a hip sway. The singing was definitely not live, it was basically the album version playing and at the end she added a whistle. I don't have a problem if she lip synchs, just make it believable, put an effort to maybe lip synch to a slightly different version than the original. And since she was lip synching she could have at least moved around the stage. Bust a move or two. Just simple moving around would do like FLAB at Grammys. Where is the energy? If she can't dance in heels anymore just leave it and wear something comfortable. She looked good, the dress was sexy without being vulgar, everything was going good. But the performance was bad. Shelly (45,780) by Abraham from USA Really, that"s cool. I thought I was the only one. It's nothing personal against Celine. I think she has an amazing voice, and I like some of her songs. But I just would have preferred Mariah to have sung with R. Kelly in "I'm your angel". It's her type of song. And the gospel chorus in the end is so Mariah. I'm hoping Mariah saved "I'll still be around" or "Save the day" for whatever next she plans on releasing. Those 2 two songs based on their titles sound like they would be a ballad or gospel type song. (If they are actual songs)? Right now I'm really feeling and enjoying "Heavenly". I love it. I love when Mariah does these type of songs. No other artist today record this type of music. (At least I don't think they do?) I'm not very religious, but I just have a thing for gospel songs. Anyways she better not be lipping when she tours this time. The would not be cool. One of the best concerts I have ever been to was Angel's Advocate in Vegas. Her voice was amazing, but it still pissed me off that she lipped Angels Cry. Her voice was in such stellar condition, why lip? I know it's normal for performances to be lipped in Europe, but it's always disappointing. I know Mariah can still sing live, but maybe it's more difficult for her to be in goof voice these days?
