Make It Look Good violins (44,031) by Martyn from England, UK Has anybody else noticed that the violins in Male It Look Good are the ones that we saw the orchestra playing in the teaser video for the release of The Art Of Letting Go? (Friday 23 May 2014; 9:43)

Me. I Am Phenoninal (44,030) by RadChad from United States So many great songs with life and soul to them on this masterpiece. This is an album that we all should be able to connect with and sink our teeth into for a long time. "Make It Look Good" is exactly what I wanted from Mariah for a long time; a the standout track from the energy of the musicality, production, and perfect vocal delivery. I swear I hear Stevie singing in the background in the chorus singing "Make it look goood" (somebody check the credits on that). The emotion she envokes into "Cry" is mind blowing, by far her most soulful song to date. While the chorus to Dedicated, Meteorite, YDKWYD all wins the "most catchy stone groove" award. The whole album is great I love every song. Am I the only one that hear the same trumpet sound from "Do You Think Of Me" in "Dedicated"? And for some reason "YDKWYD" puts me in the mind of "I've Been Thinking About You" from Music Box. I'm glad Mariah has managed to turn doubters into believer, haters into lovers, and shock us all with this amazing album. A+ (Friday 23 May 2014; 7:33)

Listening right now (44,027) by Joyce from USA I haven't completed the album yet but so far so good on a few things, 1, looks like they got the memo, the same old drum beat that was on almost every song in the last album had been retired. Fo those that don't know, it's called the "808 Drum Kit" and it's played out. However the drums on the "One more try" are so bad. It sounds so weak and like my little brothers Casio keyboard but the vocals are very moving and well sung. Her voice brings the sentiment intended by the original song composer. I wish I could take the vocal track and design a drum beat deserving of MCC's outstanding performance. The instrumentation is very modern, creative and up-to-date. The song concepts and lyrics are well done. Though, one or two songs, the arrangements for a short moment seemed messy or cluttered. Her babies sound adorable though at times their sound loops entwined throughout the song takes the listener out of the song and one becomes aware of the song composition and structure rather than just being a listener of a MCC song. Dedicated just came on just now. Very nice beat. Ha, that's what's his name's voice from American Idol Randy Jackson. What a cool composition - very smooth, warm and Mariah - beat changed-up a little-bit just now, well done. Wish the hook was a tad bolder - Randy just sang "oh Baby" hah, I met him once in 2002. He drinks that Penta water. Mariah, well done. It's fresh, new, different and yet so "Mariah". Also, good job of getting those vocals back in shape from persistent vocal bed rest. Thirsty just came on. It's very stark. I noticed in almost all songs, there are chorused vocals, using the chorus and flanged VST's and many times these processed vocals consume most of the song. It works best on "Thirsty" The bridge is silky chorus - nice, they giving us chords progressions displaying sophisticated compositions. No wonder this was delayed. At some point she realized her vocal ability needed to be invigorated. The vocal quality in Cry is not as sharp, refined, robust and healthy as in "Make it Look Good". What a breath of fresh air. Camouflage and #Beautiful are the best (44,026) by Critter from USA I like Camouflage and #Beautiful the best. Meteorite is refreshing (but it does remind of Madonna). The rest is very familiar Mariah sounds. There I said it. After following Mariah's music for 2 decades, I think 2014 is the year I finally outgrow her music, even though it is still head-and-shoulders above what's on radio today. Re: G.G. from the USA (44,019) by Brad from USA Ha. Love you, G.G. The people who work in the stores that you and I go to must be like "dang, where'd all these Mariah Carey albums come from?" Funny part is, that's just the tip of the iceberg of my Mariah escapades over the last 24+ years, if only people knew. You know something, it would be great if the lambs compiled stories of the unusual measures they go to in furtherance of their love of MC and her music. As a teaser for that compilation, I would have to include my stories of: (1) Hiding in the woods from a local fire chief in order to greet MC's limo post concert, (2) sorta stalking an older woman who won tickets to an MC concert at a store opening until the radio DJ who gave the woman the tickets spotted me and snuck me my own set of tickets out in the store's parking lot, and (3) changing MC concert t-shirts in the front row every time MC had a wardrobe change during her CT Angels Advocate Tour stop. And so many more stories like these. Anyhow, it's all in good fun, so please don't hate on me folks. Be well and enjoy this new era for what you find in it for yourselves. When I first heard Mariah was collaborating with R Kelly, I thought it would be interesting, then came the news that they will just work on the BGK remix and I was still interested because I absolutely adore that song (I actually love the whole album). I hope for a resung song, but like you said, it was a copy paste job. I really enjoyed the H.A.T.E.U. remix because it was completely different from the original ballad. The IAW remix also was not great for me because I didn't enjoy it, why does Mary need to sing that part? The situation is about MC. The deluxe edition is kind of a waste, I am sure she had many unheard songs she could have use (including stuff she scrapped off from the initial tracklist of TAOLG). G. G. That's exactly the reason I didn't purchase the deluxe version because I knew it was a copy and past style for those bonus features and I had heard his version and he killed it for me. Because that's a fake one with WBT mashed up with a rap which uses the words "Money" a lot. The real version is different. It's still really rap heavy, but Mariah's verses are not from WBT. Disappointment (44,012) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So I heard the 2 remixed tracks from MOAIA in the deluxe version and I am a little disappointed. I was hoping that Mariah re-sang the song and turn it into a completely different song like she did with her previous remixes. But sadly her parts are the same. The guests just have their own verses placed in the song. Very much UOOMF with Nicki Minaj and Angels Cry with Ne-yo. R Kelly has a great voice but his verse doesn't even make sense. Talking about being date raped (well almost). And please, Mariah sings how she caught them "in my own bedroom" and he is going on about how he was at the other girl's house when he caught them. And his explanation about how he went there to meet the girl just "to chill" is supposed to make it okay? Jeez. And just like the previous song, Mariah says "to be continued". That part should also have been left out. It's fine in the original song, but not this version. So yes I am a little disappointed. (Thursday 22 May 2014; 21:28)

Nobody said the above interestingly, which is weird considering some were top tens. I have a tradition of always buying the physical copy of Mariah's CD as I have all her albums (except the compilation ones). Where can I find the original (not the deluxe) version, the one that shows her full body on the cover, but is also explicit (I live in the US). I don't like censorship, so I want to hear everything in the way Mariah intended it to be heard. So far I can only seem to find the deluxe version with the Parental Advisory sticker. Me I Am Mariah thoughts (44,006) by Benjamin Fisher from United States I am thoroughly impressed by this record. I definitely think the songs are stronger than "The Emancipation of Mimi" and some of her 1990s work as well. "Faded" and "Thirsty" are really the only two songs that feel like filler. Everything else is pretty impeccable. My personal favorites are "Make It Look Good", "You Don't Know What to Do", "Cry." and "Heavenly", but really the majority of the songs are really strong. I do agree with some of the comments that say the record will not have strong sales at first. I think we might see relatively low sales the first week and then a major increase once Mariah and the label roll out promotion for a single. I don't think "Thirsty" will be the final choice - that song and "Faded" were probably the closest to emulating any trends currently on the radio (though those trends are things that Mariah has been doing for quite some time). I hope she puts out "You Don't Know What to Do". That would be my #1 choice. Side note: Really tired of the Beyonce and Ariana Grande comparisons. Both of those women borrowed things from Mariah, not the other way around. And people are still falsely promoting the idea that Mariah was attempting a "Beyonce-style" release. Nowhere in that Billboard interview did she indicate that she would be doing a "surprise" release. She simply talked about the reasons for the delays. (Thursday 22 May 2014; 20:01)

One More Try / Never Forget You (44,004) by Taylor from USA One More Try is very reminiscent of Never Forget You (single remix version) to me. It starts out with gospel inflections, but once the groove sets in it has the same base kicks and rhythm as the remixed version of Never Forget You. Even her vocals have that similar longing and sad quality, which is quite incredible because the two songs are practically 20 years apart. Mariah still has The Voice, and One More Try is one of the many examples of that. The only difference I noticed is that her vocals are richer and deeper, which inject more emotions into the delivery. Never Forget You showcased a phenomenal new voice, but One More Try demonstrated a spectacular voice that only a master vocalist could own. Truly impressive and unparalleled.
