Mariah's performance at the BET Honors (41,712)
by B from USA
She sang live. She struggled at times and a few notes were flat but other than that it was excellent. I too hope they release the performance as a video. She looked amazing. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 14:13)
BET performance (41,711)
by RadChad from United States
I loved it. I won't dispute whether it was live or lipped because I truly couldn't tell, the vocals did sound raw and different from the single version though. Anyway, I love the production more than the actual video itself. I think she should've incorporated the piano theme and those background clips in the video to add to the storyline; that would've been great and made more sense. I hope this and radio adds helps the song get more attention, I just read an article saying it slipped out of the top 1000 on iTunes. Not sure how true it is, but I'm still hopeful for a huge leap. MC and Allure (41,706)
by DivergentIntel from United States of America
Mariah is a master lyricist and talented songwriter. She doesn't get enough recognition or widespread standout acknowledgment for her songwriting contributions. People are still in the dark about homegirl's songwriting. Mariah puts the glossaries, dictionaries, and thesaurus to work. Her vocabulary is amazing, along with her flow and use of words and memorizing melismatic talent and energy. I know you all remember this MC penned throwback hit song/single "Last Chance", which again was written, produced and composed by Mariah Carey. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 13:34)
ObscureOpulence (41,705)
by Licia from USA
I believe that she is saying her injury was a cause that further delayed the album and the promotion. Not that it was what initially caused the delay in the first place. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 13:21)
Mariah Carey and Crave Records (41,704)
by DivergentIntel from United States of America
Wow, remember MC and her record label Crave Records? Some good music came from the groups she managed and created during the Crave Records time period era. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 13:21)
BET Honors (41,703)
by Darryle from USA
I just watched the BET Honors and I think Mariah's performance may have been live possibly. I doubt it though most likely it was a pre recorded track because it differed slightly from the studio version. Even if it was live though I think she should have done more. Like get of the piano or add lib don't stick completely to the original because people will think you're lip syncing which they already do. On a side note, I think the background video playing while Mariah was singing should have been used as the music video instead of the one she actually did. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 13:15)
MC interview cliché observation (41,701)
by DivergentIntel from United States of America
Does anyone ever notice how in some interviews MC sometimes blames the delay or pushback for her long awaited album on her broken ribs and broken arm and broken shoulder incident? I keep saying to myself that's a frigging lie because she had announced a few days to nearly a week before she broke her arm, ribs, and shoulder that she had decided to pushback the album and made a big announcement, so the broken body parts sling arm excuse is very dishonest (in)convenient excuse on her part if I may opine or add. I love MC, but that is just something on my mind I wanted to point out here lol. This is not to bash MC at all, just pointing out something so don't take anything said or posted the wrong way. Mariah Carey starring appearance in Tanning Of America (41,699)
by DivergentIntel from United States of America
MC is starring main interviewee featured on the TOA: ONUHH Documentary series on VH1 all this week on each for the series as she is a focal point on her contributions to pop culture, music, history, as well as hip hop and things as it relates to race, identity and her being mixed race/ethnicity in connection with mainstream America and the globe and mutual impact and perceptions on society. Lambs, do any of you ever notice how non lambs or insecure and ethnocentrists nit pick Mariah Carey's race amd ethnicity? Also does it bother you how MC musical repetoire has been questioned, as people try to racially categorize her music? It's ridiculous IMHO. I also hate the fact that people can't respect the fact that MC is a mixed race multiethnic woman. MC is Venezuelan, African American, and Irish, and there is possibly most likely Cuban and Alabama Creole, Louisiana Creole heritage as well, as Native American. I've done some genealogy and research on files and government records and family history lol. But anyway, point being is that Mariah Carey is not one thing over the other. She is mixed. She can be any given thing at any given time because that is what fluidity of identity entails. I don't get why people can't accept that Mariah is all of what she is and none of it at the same time. One drop rule only existed from 1931 to 1967. Not before or after. People like Mariah have existed in the USA and on planet earth since ancient times and it's common in the USA of course and has always been. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 12:50)
Mariah Carey and television updates (41,698)
by DivergentIntel from United States of America
Interesting that on Tanning Of America: One Nation Under Hip Hop documentary on VH1, Mariah makes mention of her sister Allison. I am/was shocked given their estranged relationship. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 12:42)
Mariah update (41,697)
by DivergentIntel from United States of America
Mariah is just so awesome. I get dirty thoughts when I think of her lol. Her performance on BET Honors was nice. Whethe she lip synced or not I loved it. She killed it lol. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 12:38)
BET performance (41,696)
by Ryan from the Philippines
I am actually impressed with the kind of production they did with the song. It was simple but classy. I hope this is the start that Mariah will show up to different TV shows and perform (after a string of radio interviews). The label per se should give this song a chance. This can be a big hit if it would be introduced to a bigger audience. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 12:34)

Can they make this performance - or at least the background screening - the official video for "You're Mine (Eternal)"? (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 10:13)
BET Honors (41,694)
by Licia from USA
I'll keep it short and sweet. It was a good performance, but it would have been a great performance had it been live or at least partially live. I don't get going into the studio to resing the vocals just to lip. I'm not going to harp on this because I know she can do better and it makes no sense for me to go on and on complaining when I'll be the first person in front of the TV next performance. On the plus side I still love You're Mine. Nothing will change that. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 8:06)
New album (41,693)
by MissunderstoodAngel from United states
Sadly, it's very unfortunate that Mariah's music is doing the way it is. Don't get me wrong lambs, but I feel this is going to be Glitter all over again down to the T. A whole lot of hype and excitement, then the ultimate flop. I wish she would throw out an EDM record to shut the critics up, get her 19th number one, and appeal to the non fans. Then the rest of the album she can do whatever she wants. EDM isn't all that bad. Ms Carey has a voice, unlike most EDM artists. She will definitely stand out. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 7:12)

Orkun (41,691)
by Alex from England
Well, sorry maybe I misunderstood what you wrote. I thought you were saying that you kind of warned that the song was a bad song and that it would flop and now that it is supposedly kind of flopping, we should, in all fairness, apologize for saying that the song was good and could actually be somewhat successful. Or maybe you weren't very clear. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 2:17)
Special K / track 11 (41,690)
by Edward from USA
Special K, I was going to substitute track 11 with Scream (duet with Patti LaBelle), but it was too late, I had already hit the summit button. I hope Stevie doesn't get to see the track list. I would be embarrassed. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 2:12)
Mariah is the queen of R&B (41,689)
by B from USA
You're Mine (Eternal) is #12 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs chart and #15 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. #Beautiful peaked at #3. She's doing great on the R&B charts. She considers herself an R&B artist. In my opinion she should focus on the R&B charts. The Hot 100 is pop music and every once in a while an R&B song crosses over like #Beautiful did. Idk, lol. I want MC to break the Beatles record. I'm not worried about RhiRhi, she's the featured artist on most of her so called #1's. (Tuesday 25 February 2014; 2:08)

Mariah 2014 (41,685)
by Mark Gurney from England
I have really enjoyed Mariah's last few single releases. I love the ballads "Almost Home" and "You're Mine", strong, powerful vocals. Whilst I am a lamb that would celebrate even more number 1s with Mariah, I would choose the quality of the tracks mentioned above rather than another number 1 single. An artist of Mariah's calibre should produce better videos than her latest efforts. I like Mariah being girly and flirty (that's her), but we need videos again like Heartbreaker and Honey. My biggest criticism of Mariah is that she is so lazy with her world tours. She's not toured in UK since 2002. I think her new album will be emancipating, rumours of duets with Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder and Celine Dion. Tour Mariah. (Monday 24 February 2014; 23:42)
New album (41,684)
by Isaac Ortiz from USA
So Mariah is still working and adjusting the new album, which is nice to know. I'm excited and want the best for her. I feel that it will top or be as good as TEOM. Many people say that she still hasn't had an album that has topped it, but I disagree. I personally think that E=MC2 is just as good. Songs like "Touch my body" (even though it mainly goes for a female), "I stay in love", "I'll be lovin' you long time", and "I wish you well" all made me love Mariah even more. Memoirs was alright. I think "Candy bling" and "It's a wrap" are great. And "Up out my face" is hilarious and even better. Not to mention "Angels cry". I'm just so curious what she will name the new album. "Triumphant", "Beautiful" and "TAOLG" all are great. I'm not crazy for "You're mine", but it somewhat grew on me. As for the next single? I would go with "Hurricane" or one of the new songs she added. (Monday 24 February 2014; 23:32)

I see you both are utilizing your degrees from the Mariah School of Shade. You know if Mariah was here right now she would would glitter bomb you both, right? Licia: Not you'll be happy if its at least 80% live? I can't. Edward: When it gets to the point where we can sit here debate over whether Mimi should cut her hair or not for a month straight chile that mood needed to be lighten, unloaded, lifted, trimmed shifted. I'm surprised we didn't need Oprah and Iyanla, and Dr. Phil for an intervention. (Monday 24 February 2014; 23:28)
