Mariah's #Beautiful (37,724) by Badr from USA I actually wasn't expecting a back-to-basics, yet edgy, retro, single. I believe the production is the best, for a Mariah Carey lead single, since "Honey". Of course, I want more Mariah, but Miguel's voice suits Mariah's so well that it makes me forget my little objection. Because of the apparent "simplicity" of the song, it reminds me of classics, such as "Always Be My Baby" and "Dreamlover". In my opinion, the song has a Daydream-esque vibe. On a personal level, I loved it, one of the best Mariah Carey songs I've heard in a long time. I really hope to see Mariah back on top of the charts. So far, the critics seem to love "#Beautiful", now it's up to us to make it a hit. (Monday 6 May 2013; 21:10)

Loving #Beautiful (37,723) by Che from USA As per usually you can't make everyone happy, but I sure am. I'm loving the duet between Mariah and Miguel. For those who feel the song is too short, this is for radio, so the final version that ends up on the album could be longer, similar to what Miguel did with his #1 hit Adorn. I love the chance MC took sound wise. I agree with someone else who said that it sounds nothing like Dreamlover as one review stated. Although it does have a similar kind of just laid back easy vibe (perfect for summer) as Dreamlover to me. It does make me curious to hear what the rest of the album will sound like. #Beautiful (37,722) by Gilbert from USA I will be completely honest, I really tried to steer away from reading all the praise before this song came out. I've done that before and all it lead to was disappointment. #Beautiful is a contagious song. The music itself reminds me of something that you would hear behind a gangster flick such as Goodfellas or Blow etc. It just has that type of tempo feel IMO. I also hear the background music and it just takes me to a back in the day feel going to "These Boots Are Made For Walking" by Nancy Sinatra. I have it on repeat right now and it's just a feel good song. I would almost see myself having a drink by the pool and having this song play. It's a fun song. I'm happy for how I reacted to it. Beautiful - a great song for summer (37,718) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada A light, fun breezy song to crank in the car. I love the backing beat and guitar. I don't think I had any expectations, just had a good feeling about it. The song is totally perfect for summer. You still get "the voice" simple at the same time and the production isn't distracting. Their voices blend well, and I think it is different from other stuff on the radio. Yay, MC. My only thought on first play this morning, I do wish the song was longer, it ends too soon. Lol. #Beautiful (37,717) by Lee from UK I enjoy the song but, like some others, feel it's too short. It's crying out for another verse and another chorus. There was a review which suggested this song was similar to Dreamlover; I just don't hear it. On the bright side, it sounds simple enough to sing live so we should be in safe hands if she decides to perform it on Idol. Never heard Miguel before, and I have to say his voice is like silk, it has the most stunning texture that totally compliments Mariah. Edward/Beautiful (37,714) by John from USA I agree with everything you said man. This album will make or break Mariah. I hope she doesn't end up like Christina or Janet. She desperately needs this album to at the very least have one successful single. She needs to not be lazy this time around and promote promote promote. I downloaded #Beautiful, but I'm not really feeling it to be honest. There's not enough Mariah for me, and the hook really isn't that catchy. But at least it seems to be getting good reviews and a lot of people seem to like it. I don't see this becoming a number 1, but hey, if it does, I won't complain. I just hope the rest of her album/singles are just her without any rapper/guest singers. I still say "Almost Home" was a gem and could've done much better if she had actually promoted it. To me, that was her catchiest song since "Touch My Body". Sigh. I really hope this single/album will do well. I just want to hear her on the radio again, which we haven't since "Obsessed". I love the guitar, the harmonizing and Miguel. I am thankful for the lack of hip-hop beats and vocal histrionics. Beautiful? Eh, I'm not so sure (37,706) by John from USA I was terrified to hear it, and well, I guess I was right. There's simply not enough Mariah (once again, she's featured on her own song, though not to the extent of Triumphant) and the hook is kinda weak. I wish "Almost Home" was the first proper single from this album. It's a much superior and catchier song. "Beautiful" is too short too. Damn. I really thought she was gonna bring it this time around. So disappointed. Maybe it'll grow on me if I hear it on the radio. It's not as awful as the original version of "Triumphant", but it's not the smash hit with killer vocals/hook that I was hoping for. Mariah is great on the show, every judge brings something to the panel and yes even Minaj. However, I find the contestants to be completely boring, their song choices. Mariah, please jump off that sinking ship (37,702) by Edward from USA Jaker20, you couldn't have said it better. I stated that AI was a sinking ship before the show started broadcasting, and it hasn't stopped sinking with this new season. The show hasn't helped Mariah at all either, since her last two songs with videos, remixes, and all weren't successful at all. I didn't want Mariah to be on the AI boat and get drowned with it. Hopefully she won't come back next season. If #Beautiful doesn't succeed, it wasn't meant to be, since as far as I can see, they are giving this new project the same treatment they gave TEOM. Before the TEOM was released, Def Jam met with Mariah and DJ's to make sure they play her, and so they did. I'm so happy she changed management, and that the music has an old vibe to it according to some. TEOM brought back the feeling, soul, good old music to the scene, that's what made it successful. It catered to not only the young, but also the no-so-young people. Everybody loved it. It seems to be that she's going to be singing her ass off on this record. The fact that she's still recording and putting the final touches on the album, tells me that she's taking it seriously. She'd better bring good music, and not tired ass whispering if she doesn't want to end up like Janet or Christina Floppera. She'd better hire 10 nannies, put ten wigs in her bag and start promoting the hell out this single. This album will definitely make her or break her, and I'm positively hoping for the latter. Caroline/Beautiful (37,701) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada I agree with you about Mariah's judging and critiques. I have thoroughly enjoyed her on the show. I'm not going to lie, Mariah was the draw to the show for me. I must say though, I've been impressed with Angie Miller throughout. I have not been impressed with Idol producers' willingness to throw Mariah under the bus. My friends and family are not Mariah fans in the same way I am, so in that sense I consider them to be reflective of "general public", and no one I know feels MC is doing a bad job, or that she's been "too nice" for what that's worth. Many of them have appreciated that she doesn't have a nasty edge to her commentary, and that someone at her level of success can still empathize with everything the singers are trying to do. I wouldn't be surprised if she performs with one of the contestants on finale night. I'm looking forward to downloading Beautiful. (Monday 6 May 2013; 0:50)
