Mariah's deal with Epic was renegotiated in April 2017.

Of course, no one wants Mariah to be remembered for her bad performances but to constantly criticize her for the state of her voice or her decision to tour is exhausting.

Re: Rihanna and The Neptunes (92,846) (92,857) by Terna from Nigeria
Just hell no (all caps) Mariah should stay far far away from Pharrell and his dated sound. Those songs they churned out on TEOM were the wackest, weakest, sorry excuse for songs and a waste of space two other much better songs could have occupied.

Welcome back Andrew. I appreciate your posts on the board. I would much prefer MC just perform select shows and tour in support of the new album versus this over saturation of touring. She is killing her voice and legacy. The same boring setlist and stunts. She doesn't need the money. She was wonderful on the James Corden show. It was everything I needed and thought was lost. High confidence plus stellar live vocals. I want to remember her this way. I wish she'd be a studio rat again and only come out when the album is complete. The incessant touring and paparazzi staged photos are a drab. Beyonce excels in this area - she makes music and is seen only when she wants to. It's all curated and always excellence with her. Mariah used to be this way. She needs to return to her glory.

Watch Dreamlover from Caution world tour, she even gave us some extra notes. Just because your ears are still living in 96 doesn't mean the girl can't sing. People who actually goes [sic] to her shows are singing a different tune. Mariah is improving with every tour. She sang during her Christmas shows and slayed MSG last Christmas.

Will, as much as I would love for Mariah to have her "Daydream voice back" if she removed the nodules, it wouldn't be worth the risk.

O Holy Night (92,853) by Dove from United States
This wasn't that long ago and it sounds good to me. I'm sure regular people who don't study her performances as closely as fans can't even tell she's not singing on some parts. I think she knows what's best for her own life.

Re: Bill (92,851) (92,852) by Tevin from USA
I have to agree with Andrew's last post, as much as I love watching any new video of Mariah on tour, I do have to admit that I'd rather get just a few handful of good and solid performances wether televised or not from her than a bunch of bad or sub par performances (even if it's not her fault and simply boild down to her health or nodules or whatever). Nothing against her (because I know that touring nowadays is how artists make there money) but all hopefulness aside, the reality is, unless something changes in Mariah's health, vocal training, or vocal rest, things aren't going to get much better, and God forbid they get worse.

Re: Bill (92,850) (92,851) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
It's called Argumentum ad hominem - if you don't like what someone is saying, attack them for saying it, make the argument about them. It's a great deflecting tactic for the galactically stupid who have required cradling ever since mummy and daddy sllit up.

Mariah continuing to tour is unhealthy and bizarrr as it's not fooling anyone and its ruining what voice she has left. If anyone here actually loved Mariah's voice, they, too, would prefer a once-in-a-while good performance to day-in day-out bad ones. She is clearly struggling and the internet now filled with bad performances vs a couple of good ones. Is this how she wants to be remembered? Is this how anyone wants to remember her?

Re: Bill (92,849) (92,850) by Bill from the UK
I don't think being honest and realistic about a situation is necessarily negative. It's a fact and it is what it is. I love Mariah dearly but my concern is more around what this facade is doing for someone who has said she is insecure and is mentally unwell enough to be diagnosed with bipolar. Just as she stopped enabling Alison all those years ago, I think we are (and forgive the dramatic turn of phrase) but killing her with kindness. If every time she gets up on stage and lip syncs another number we respond with "yas queen slay I don't know her" then it only heightens her insecurities and instabilities.

Any true fan, that genuinely cares for her as a person rather than a commodity to score number 1s so you can throw it in Ariana's fans faces, would be happy for her to come clean and remove that burden.

I used to be a very successful swimmer in my youth, to the point that I was in training for the Olympics. However, an accident at work damaged my shoulder which meant my swimming career was over immediately. I don't re-run clips of me in the pool winning medals from 1999 and say it was filmed yesterday. It's a sad, unfortunate event but it happened. Much as Mariah losing her voice all those years ago was.

It does annoy me when the first response is to stick your fingers in your ear and call me negative, when really I am speaking the truth here. Nothing I said was made up, it's just that the truth hurts when it's about somebody you love, which is understandable.

I have noticed that you become apart of the negative bunch as well, what point does it serve to be negative towards someone who you claim to respect and love? Or is being negative is how you men express your love in the UK? Again being negative does not mean being honest. Also I guess you are perfect with everything that you do. Because the last time I checked we all have limitations at some point no matter who you or how great you were. Our bodies change every day. Again MC is human just like the rest of us, and yes she has been considered one of the best to ever do it. But again if you can no longer appreciate or respect what is left of her talent, I think that you should move onto other artists who talents, and arts you have desire, and respect for, and stop bashing MC to those who still love, respect, and admire what she has done, and continues to do.

"Her breathy vocals, low notes, mid notes, falsetto and her whistle register are on fire. And she can still reach those high notes."

In honestly, they aren't and she can't. And you know that (no one is that delusional/gullible, surely?). Mariah cannot get through one song without playback or lip syncing, and she hasn't sung a live whistle note in at least five years.

It's great that you defend and support her, but stop lying.

Rihanna and The Neptunes (92,846) by Bobby A from United States
Rihanna is back in the studio with the Neptunes. R9 ain't done yet. Everytime they work together or separately their sound is always fresh and inviting. I hope MC can get back in the studio with them again. The work Pharrell did on Ariana's Sweetner was some of his best work to date.

Re: Andrew (92,840) (92,845) by We are Lambily from USA
Thank you Gee, I have been saying that for years. I believe he needs a hug or something. I have never meet a fan so negative towards the person they claim to love. Mariah is still doing it. Her breathy vocals, low notes, mid notes, falsetto and her whistle register are on fire. And she can still reach those high notes.
Who cares about those belting high notes. Caution was and is everything. It outsold Kesha and Meghan Trainor new albums in pure sales. Some of you guys always love to disrespect Mariah. I'm sick of fans

Re: No vocal audit (92,826) (92,844) by Geronimo from USA
Mariah Carey doesn't owe you anything. You spend enough time on this board to make it obvious to everyone that you know exactly what her voice sounds like on wax, on video, and in person. She is an entertainer and not your employee. Her voice is waning - it happens and it doesn't require a special report on the condition of her body. You sound like you've made an investment in her career and she has defrauded you. But an obnoxious customer who loves to pick and whine is not an investor. He's just a strange case of a person who has a bizarre obsession with an American female performer.

Re: In The Fix (92,835) (92,842) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Having Demnodules removed doesn't guarantee anything. A lot of factors contribute to vocal change. Mariah would be better off taking the safer route by making lifestyle changes and making more disciplined choices as these the only factors she has truly has any control of. Aging, hormonal changes caused by motherhood and menopause, etc. have and will continue to contribute to her vocal evolution, for better or for worse, for as long as she lives. Comparisons of her vocal journey to similar singers may be valid, albeit to a certain, very limited extent mostly due to another crucial factor - individual differences. This is probably why you rarely see singers in popular music being openly and outwardly critical of their peers' abilities because they understand that everyone's path is different; plus no one can discount there's the added enormous pressure put on them by being in the industry, being under constant scrutiny of the public eye and the stresses that these cause which artists will react to and deal with differently, mentally, emotionally and physiologically.

No Time To Die - Billie Elish (92,841) by Bobby A from United States
This song is so good. I swear Billie is channeling MC in the way she is singing in haunting breathy vocals. No Time To Die has a dramatic climax simliar to Lead The Way. Finneas and MC need to collaborate together soon. He could really capture MC's signature style in such a way for an undeniable hit song.

Andrew (92,840) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Andrew I have to admit that you truly a grinch if everything about Mariah nowadays bothers you why continue to come on this message and speak your disdain for daily? Honestly if you no longer can appreciate her, or her talent simply move on, and let the people who still enjoy, and appreciate her allow them to do in peace. You have stated the same issues for quite some time now, and it is quite annoying at this point. If you want Mariah from a certain time there is always YouTube. Either accept that she has limitations just like the rest of the world, or move on and support other artists that you enjoy today.

ASCAP (92,839) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I personally think besides the publishing and licensing rights to her catalog of music I am sure that MC has not fulfilled her journey as an artist so I know she some more music to come. Besides that I do not think her contact with Epic is done just yet. I believe that it was a multi album deal. So again I do believe that she will be around until she is ready to call it a day.
