I'm sorry, but selling 100,000 units of a song for a legendary artist like Mariah Carey is nothing to be proud of.

Mariah Carey's Caution (song) has now sold over 100,000 units worldwide plus sps, it is the best-selling track from the album that wasn't a single.

Gen Z is otherwise known as "the silent generation" because they have been born into and gained consciousness in a gadget-inundated world, hence their tendencies to prefer online communication over personal, face-to-face interaction.

Merry Christmas (91,651)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

I would have to agree this last era was about restructuring the value and brand that is Mariah Carey, and it was definitely needed. To be bringing Roc Nation on board has truly been a blessing, also Mariah has certainly found focus, stability, and happiness in her personal life and she looks genuinely happy with Mr. Tanaka by her side, and even though it is another man by her side I am able to give props where they are do. Again wishing you all blessings, and peace to during this festive holiday season. Also here is to peace, great health, and more happiness to all for 2020 and beyond.

She didn't care during era, she was brutally honest. The way she went after the Grammys will forever be one of my fave moments. Like when she released those voicemails during, everyone thought she gone mad. Sometimes us humans get fed up, we get tired. Us lambs think we know everything, listen to Rihanna's. You only know what Mariah let us know. Trust and believe this demonic industry ain't what you think it is.

Generations explained in link (91,647)
by Susana from USA
| |

Since there's so much debate, this is a company that uses generations to track polls, sales etc. Most might be off by a year when you research. The last 3 generations are letters with some having other names to go with it. Gen X Gen Y (Millennials) Gen Z (name still being worked on, could be igen since iPhones came out in 2007)

"And I am rather certain that Tanaka makes her feel confident as he seems to be a nice guy who genuinely cares about her for the human being and not only the global superstar she is." That's right dang it. I see no lies in this statement. Thank you for giving my baby some credit. Team Tanaka.

I believe she has found some peace within herself. During the Stella era she was "off". If one watches her interviews during that time, her eyes are empty and dead. No wonder because that leechy creature was exploiting her into shreds. And I am rather certain that Tanaka makes her feel confident as he seems to be a nice guy who genuinely cares about her for the human being and not only the global superstar she is.

Just be careful you don't put your signature jinx on things though (remember how Caution was going to outsell Thriller?). Don't tempt fate. Just enjoy the song's ride and hope that it gets what it deserves. If it doesn't, then so be it.

Re: The next 13 days including December 26 (91,640) (91,642)
by jaker20 from US

Opinion based on Circles still being far ahead on radio. No.1 is a possibility but I'll be careful for now and say it will be number 2.
But that is ok. The new tracking week starts today, Friday, and Circles is already dropping on radio, and AIWFCIY is starting to explode on streaming daily, and its gone up on iTunes. So if not this Monday, the next Monday is looking very good, and then again next Monday when orders of physicals are shipped.
But lets not be over-confident. I say, starting today, we party stream every single day including December 26. That will give the song the historic two weeks at no.1 at 2 different decades.

Only the haters say Mariah is only remembered at the Christmas. Mariah sells over 300+k of her catalogue every year and that was at the time the public hated her. She is the industry biggest hitmaker, the most successful female singer songwriter producer of all time. She should lend her music more to tv shows and movies. I forgot its name but Fantasy is in a new movie and I can't wait to watch it. Mariah is about to make history this Monday, we going #1 and probably staying there all Christmas into 2020.

Merry Christmas (91,638)
by Andrew from the United Kingdom
| |
|
|
Not sure this will make it, but let me fingerbang for fun.
I just watched the All I Want documentary and Mariah looks and sounds great. I've also seen the UK interviews and it appears she has returned to being someone I used to know. She is coherent, looks people in the eye, directly answers questions. What has happened? Can you reverse personality transplants? I wish passed friends were alive to see this.
All in all, if Mariah does not make Number 1 in the US and UK this year she probably won't do it ever again. But the push to get it done has been so phenomenal that if she misses it then there is no shame to be felt. She has done remarkably well. So much so that I hardly recognize her. She is professional and smart.
Mariah should have a Summer party album to unwrap for May lest she becomes the artist who is wheeled out every December and remembered only for Christmas. I sometimes fear her own Christmas song risks detracting from songs which are comparably as good if not better, e.g., Fantasy, et al.
Anyway, I wish each one of you Happy Holidays, a Happy New Year and, if we have never spoken, or we never speak again, a long and happy life.
Merry Christmas.

Love for Merry Christmas (91,635)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
| |
|
|
What I love about AIWFCIY and the album Merry Christmas is that it is universally loved. People tend to be polarized when it comes to Mariah, either you hate her or you love her.
My whole family hates Mariah, much because I terrorized them by playing her whenever I had the chance. In the early morning my go to song was the mix of Heartbreaker/Should You Ever Be Lonely, not exactly what my family fancied in the morning.
But, my family can't resist listening to Mariah during Christmas. I gave the album to every member of the family some years ago, and the newcomers in the family has also gotten theirs. If "Merry Christmas" isn't played during Christmas Eve, well, something is missing, even my family thinks that.

The next 13 days are crucial. Its her final chance to get a no.1. It doesn't seem like she got it this week, and she will peak at no.2 (new peak). Which means our final chance is the next 13 days.

US radio stations (91,633)
by Jason from US

Anyone here know why US radio stations are not playing AIWFCIY frequently? A lot of requests from fans to radio stations but it seems like they are trying to ignore them. Did Mariah offend them? The radio chart for AIWFCIY is way too low at this point. I wonder why.

Same generation if you ask wiki. But completely different. I'm a typical Y born between 80-95. Born in 84. Millennials are born after 95. Anyway it's great that there are a few young people who loves Mariah like we do who grew up with her.
