We stuck with her through her good and her bad. We come from a time that all we had was her music and this messageboard. If it weren't for this site, we'd have to subject ourselves to those so-called fans that know nothing about the true roots of her music and her life. Those "yass bitch", "the queen can do no wrong" type of fans that we see on social media. If it weren't for people like Mimi L, Andrew, Adam, B, Ribbon, Licia, Special K, Edward and of course Eric, to mention just a few, we wouldn't be informed with actual truth and information about what's really going on. Yeah, some are a little more blunt than others, but why is it OK for us as regular people to give each other tough love but we must walk on eggshells and praise these celebrities as if they were gods? MC isn't in any way or form checking for us and our opinions, obviously. Otherwise, we'd have actual music to discuss rather than what she finds more important, her antics, finances, t.ts and a$$, her men and a whole lotta nonsense. Everything nowadays seem to be gimmicks. I'm patiently waiting for the day she adds champagne scented toilet paper to her long list of pointless things to promote, instead of new music. I myself, am getting tired of defending her. How hard is it to just scroll through and simply ignore the comments you don't care for? This board is just older fans who followed MC in the 90's and in my opinion not a true reflection of her fan base. No one searches websites anymore and the majority of her fans interact through social media. I've learned to get my news from this site and move along as it's depressing. Mariah is gay-friendly, and she can be considered as a music icon who's loved - and hated - by many gay people, but I don't see her as a gay icon like Cher or Madonna, who had been supporting the LGTBI community long time before it was a trendy cause to fight for. In my opinion, Mariah's apoliticism conflicts with the idea of a gay icon. By the way, many of these called divas had been making profits from gay people for decades, and it's a shame that when they are asked, or when it comes to deffend the LGTBI cause, they are only able to make vague speeches full of clichés. Imagine if it was produced by Happy Perez, who produced #Beautiful, he would have seamlessly updated her signature sound and made it more radio friendly. My brother says she looks hot in the I Don't video and that he loved the song and doesn't understand why it's not playing on the radio. I told him ageism and sexism and no support from her label. Mariah doesn't need Sony, Sony needs Mariah. Mariah bought the masters to her Columbia/Sony catalogue in 2005. They only really profit when she's on their label and they're releasing her albums. She was even able to include her #1's during her tenor at IDJ on the updated release of #1 To Infinity. She's still a force to be reckoned with in the industry based on friends and her back catalogue. However, she needs a new manager that is well connected in the industry and she needs to rehire (by begging) Cindi Berger and Nash (if he was apart of Stella's mass firing of Mariah's former team). Stella and her family are bad for business and if Mariah's all about money she can find a manager that can make her a lot more money that Stella. Stella isn't trying to help Mariah she's using Mariah and it's plain as day. Everyone notices but Mariah it seems.
