If nothing else, no one should be able to resist Foreigner's Hot Blooded. I love the Dixie Chick's Lullaby. Make It Big is my favorite Beach Boys song, To Love Somebody the Bee Gees' and Cryin' by Aerosmith. I'll be on the traitor list because I also like Jennifer's music, the older stuff.

It will never not be mind boggling as to why Mariah wants to go as low as she's been going, especially when she really doesn't have to. Who in the world wants the world to think that they have to go out of their way to make Kevin Federline 2.0 jealous? Where they do that at?

MC's 3 steps to success (75,987)
by Nikki from usa
| |
|
|
For one, I have no issues with sexy pictures or doing side projects. When there's a huge artist like MC who has a huge career and kids later in life than usually the family will take priority and the career becomes a hobby. What she appears to be doing now is all sorts of creative hobbies. Mariah loves creating and doing new things. She doesn't like to be tied down in one place, she has a desire to keep moving and doing creative projects. She needs to lead her own parade and leave it up to others to perpetuate what she's created. That's why joint projects like she did with MAC and Elizabeth Arden were so successful. Looking at her career I've seen some consistent patterns that have made her successful. 1. Live concerts broadcast on TV and sold later. Here Is Mariah Carey debuted as a Thanksgiving special to promote her album and premiere the live version of her new single "Hero". MSG was released exclusively on VH1 on the day of her album release for Daydream. Both Daydream and Music Box were her biggest selling albums. 2015 Mariah did a Christmas special and her hit song climbed up to #11 on the Hot 100. 2. If she doesn't give the media something to chew on they make up their own stories, find the best sellers, and perpetuate them. Look at the last few years. Mariah "losing" something is the category of choice from lovers to sales to career. Mariah says nothing about what she's up to and doesn't actually use social media. If she'd become more interactive with the public as a person and a celebrity there'd be more favorable headlines associated with her. She should be leading the media, not the other way around. 3. When MC's truly excited about something it does well. Remixes, Camp Mariah, Christmas anything, Indy films, and the first episode of MW. When she promoted it as behind the scenes of her putting a tour together and creating new music over 4 million people tuned in total. When it turned out to be her squad bickering among themselves the public tuned out.

Article: Pay homage to Mariah Carey's MTV Unplugged (75,986)
by Malcolm from Asia
| |
|
|
"In the words of a glowing year-in-review piece that ran in Entertainment Weekly that December: 'Carey's appearance was a vocal tour de force, proving beyond a doubt that in addition to her breathtaking pipes, she has developed a commanding stage presence. This rare public appearance reminded us there was a big-league performer inside that party dress.'" Party dress is what left with her. But anyways, happy 25th Anniversary to her MTV Unplugged.

Mimi record contract in jeopardy (75,982)

Latest fabrication (75,980)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|

Radar is saying that M. only hooked up with Nick weeks ago in order to make the hired hand jealous. Per Shawn there was never a break, lol. And wasn't the original reason for the break/non break due to the hired hands jealousy of Nick etc. etc.? What a circular mess. The immature, jealousy revenge filled petty mess tabloud plants needs to stop. It is so unbecoming a rich, middle aged woman and mother of young kids.

Wow thanks I just read his IG page. I said earlier her old team sadly might be telling a similar story to MJ's bodyguards. The team that took over his life at the end were ruthless snakes who took over every aspect of his life and pushed.

Ugh, I can't stand BFV or most reality shows, but I would welcome one with real insight into Janet's music, getting back in shape etc. MW was such a mess up with all the relationship focus and subsequent re writes and flip flops that they couldn't even keep up with themselves. The latest Mimi rumors are a push for a quickie wedding. At this point anything might happen. They seem to think it's a game where only they know the rules and make them up as they go along. I just hope the kids are in the good care at all times.

Eddie Morales, Mariah's ex backup dancer, posted a throwback of Mariah and him. He has vent about Stella before. This time he said Stella is just a reality star producer. He also made other comments referring to their team and tagged Rachael. I think he even said he wishes Mariah will wake up. I like how he feels no need to be a kiss ass to Stella and has integrity. It really makes you wonder what motivates Mariah now and why she chose this management. Who knows, maybe she falls into a pattern where her old teams end up being backstabbers somehow? And she feels the need to clean house. Thats my guess.

Exactly. That's why I want her to stop putting out these half baked singles. With the exception of a few songs, MIAM proves that she has so much more in her, but if her head is not in it right now then just stop. I don't want the music to stop, but I also don't want these children that she's trying to impress to believe that songs like Crapfinity are the best she has to offer.

When folks ask me what type of music I'm into, I never know what to say. I can go from Aerosmith to Mariah to Rachmaninoff. I love music. I'm grateful technology has evolved to the point I can download a song and not have to buy the whole album.

I will definitely check it out once I get home. As for when Mariah said she talked about dying early with Michael, I think I vaguely remember it, if I'm not confusing it with something else. It's sad really, Mariah still has time to stop and take control of her life. Instead she chose to give control to some Oompa Loompa mess. This reminds me of that interview she did few years back where she talked about how she hated making decision and calling shots and telling people (her employees) what to do.

I agree. There's only one way to recover. Leave Hollywood and live a low-key life. Go back home (NY). Stop drinking and take care of your voice and work on an album. I would say 2 years is a great time to recover an image and make an album. She did an amazing job pre TEOM. She was very low-key and worked on an album and her private life was stable. No nothing in the media about her private life. She came back with a humble attitude and a great album. Amazing team. TEOM's success is never going to happen but I can see another semi-comeback with a great attitude and music.

Belinda Carlisle for me. Maybe we can consider her as a diva too but her music is different than our queen M. I listen a lot to Roxette's music lately. MC early works, BC and Roxette are the sound that I miss so much from the 90s. Of course, the rest of the original divas.

Okay, this board has been under quite a dark cloud since Martyn's passing. May he rest in peace. So to lighten things up a bit, it's sharing time once again. It's a given that we all love Mariah, and it probably follows that we also love her diva contemporaries. But we also follow artists that aren't necessarily like them that may seem random or come as a surprise to others. Mine are: Jason Mraz Neon Trees Hiroshima Tove Lo DNCE Joao Gilberto Lily Allen John Mayer The Cardigans Hall & Oates D'Sound Ellie Goulding Cher Lloyd Michael Franks The bird and the bee Mandy Moore Amerie Michael Learns To Rock Sophie Ellis-Bextor Kimbra Carly Rae Jepsen Swing Out Sister Color Me Badd Seth MacFarlane The Carpenters What are yours?
