Re: MW season 2 (72,833) (72,855) by RibbonB from USA
Lee might be good, at least he is somewhat protective of her. BET has shown her love over the years and as an organization I think they would do a good job. Stella is not the one, nor even the silly rat, Brett Ratner. But more than that, I think it is too early yet for M. to do a biopic and her present day life is a bit too volatile rn.

Why should Mariah say something about Adele? It's just because it's not the music Mariah is listening to. I'm pretty sure it's nothing against Adele as a musician. The same with Celine Dion. Mariah likes Celine but not the music.

Re: The Grammys foiled me (72,832) (72,853) by MusicfanJ from Germany
You're right, it was so mean with the camera back then. I always thought Mariah never got over the Grammy fiasco in 96. I can only imagine how she must have felt. She was on the top of her career, working so hard since her debut and broke almost every record. A young Mariah who got foiled by the jury. That she won for TEOM and no Grammy for Daydream is not understandable. But I agree it is a little bit strange that now she is talking about this topic again. Old wounds.

Obviously something is wrong here. No one is bullying Mariah, we're all adults with opinions and the right to them. She should know better after 27 years in the business to not diss a show like the Grammys, especially after just bad mouthing Dick Clark Productions. She's now alienating herself from major musical corporations, not to mention her peers or friends that were there and performing at the Grammys. Beyonce brings her daughter to Mariah's Christmas show, yet Mariah cuts of the interviewer and goes on a rant from something 2 decades ago not even giving props to Bey, or Adel. She almost seems medicated to me. It's so sad but I can see her going deeper and deeper into a hole and it breaks my heart. Stella and her entire family is the company she chooses to surround herself with and they're rubbing off. There's something deeper though going on and it's troubling. I'm trying to figure it out because I care deeply about Mariah.

If I were Mariah, I would have smashed the 3 Grammy trophies instead of pretending to be nice and gracious receiving these consolation awards.

Agree. She just answered the question with all her honesty. I really don't care about "Grammy shows" unless Mariah will be performing or being awarded.

I honestly believe she only listens to hip-hop or her own music. If she wants to reach the masses again maybe she should give Adele's album a spin.

Mariah on "The Grammy's" (72,847) by Hot As Ice from Mimiland
"The Grammy's" are boring, because they're predictable, just love her honesty in this interview. She isn't pretending to like anything, she isn't licking "Grammy's" ass. Clearly shows that they can't buy her, by giving 3 awards in 2005. MC really says what is on her mind and it means a lot. She truly deserved to win back then in 1996(and not only then) and they treated her unfair.

Dear lambs, do you not realize something is wrong here? Read every caption, all negative again. Originally, this board was a celebration of Mariah and the music and her legacy and her beautiful songs and recorded vocals. Now it's all negative, what is wrong with ya'll? You all sound unhappy and bitter. Most of you appear from the pictures to be over 35, if so, you have serious issues, stop bullying this woman.

So very well said. And she still has a few "lambs" who very vocally support her every move like that Gilles guy on twitter. I don't think he's on her team but he acts like he is. Promoting this Grammy video on his account is ludicrous as if she said something great. He's also a diehard supporter of Stella, so it figures. He claims only the real fans get Stella and her importance. It's these kind of people that Mariah has surrounded herself with which is why she is where she's at.

The Grammys comment (72,842) by Terna from Nigeria
Mariah has every right to diss the Grammies after they blatantly tried to make a fool of her twice (all caps). Some of the comments I've read on here pertaining this issue are just unreasonable and downright dumb. We are all humans and when someone wrongs you on purpose twice, it's normal to react a certain way, matter of fact it is expected to react a certain way. The Grammys dissed Mariah in a major way in 1996 with 6 nominations and no win, turned around again in 2006, gave her 8 nods for TEOM and she got only 3 wins which weren't even televised (meanwhile the very next year, those same categories were televised), shutting her out of the big three major categories. That's like throwing her crumbs and saying "Sorry Mariah, your work isn't worth our recognition enough to garner a win on the main show." And you expect Mariah to be "gracious" about it? Really? I hope she says [censored] the Grammys next time she's asked.

Re: Sudden hate for the Grammys (72,828) (72,841) by Shezz from Pk
Exactly, why bring up the 1996 snubbing when they awarded you for TEOM and when asked about how she felt on not being awarded song and record of the year she replied gracefully saying that she got best RnB song and best RnB performance and as an RnB artist that's what's important for her. She even did special Grammy interviews and was part of their nomination concert after that. This reeks of "empowered women", "women who stand up for themselves", "work hard, complain harder". You could almost see the trail of blush on the floor. It's like she's been so brainwashed these last 2 years. I completely do believe people can have such adverse effects on your mindset.

Well, there's no hope that she will ever perform on that stage ever again or even winning another one after that comment. I will laugh my ass off if she will accept something from them in the future. Get your shit together Mariah, you can't even finish a sentence now and can't express your thoughts clearly and calmly. You seem aloof, what is happening? Do yoga or something so that your inner peace would be under control. This is not good.

Cory Holcomb (72,839) by BlkLo from USA
First time posting and maybe the last but did anyone see the Cory Holcomb interview where he said he was glad Nick left that "drunk b#tch"? I used to like that dude but that was beyond disrespectful especially when you are sticking up for your "friend" quoting NBC. I think he may [...] been drunk TBH. Anyone with a brain knows Mariah drinks but to say it in that manor was appalling to say the least. He should check his boy Nick who felt the need to spread his "seed" and use Bible verses to justify it. I'm so done with all of these [..] ass folks. If Mariah chooses to dead Corey's career like Tyrese (someone with lesser clout than MC) did Spanky, I wouldn't be mad. He made good points about Nick not being punk but he did way too much so Mariah have at them.

Mariah the unlikeable hypocrite (72,838) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Okay I know I recently referenced Mariah's 1996 Grammys snub in one of my posts but this is just unacceptable. Being unapologetically honest and being a bitter sore loser are two very different things. And the fact that she just thought it would be cool to suddenly bring up a 21-year old disappointment remotely related to the proper answer of a harmless question is just childish. This is coming from the same woman who submitted TEOM for consideration in the 2006 Grammys, where she won 3 out of 8 nominations. The nerve. How ungrateful can one get? What a hypocrite. Sure, the Grammys are notorious for choosing the wrong winners half the time, and being predictable and boring, but these are thoughts she should keep to herself because news flash - she can't afford to piss off even more people than she already did in the last 2 years alone. She's not as big as she was anymore, and I'm pretty sure she's a persona non grata to a lot of events and shows right now, and she is yet to deliver a much publicized stunning live performance post-2010. It turns out the woman who harbors adolescent fears is even better at holding grudges. Wake up, Mariah. Let's be completely honest - you haven't been hot tamale or that chick they like for almost a decade now. There's this thing called "reality". Look it up. People do get older. Birthdays do happen. The mighty do fall. That is, if you can spare some time away from your bubbly, poor wardrobe choices and mostly tasteless, awkward social media posts. It's just sad when the only redeeming factors left for the woman I have considered my superhero for the longest time are her past music and being a good mom.

Gigi, this is an excerpt of the write up that M's old friend posted on Twitter. Again, I'm not saying it is about M in any way, but this part made me think of M and Stellar. They may be a very volatile co-dependent mix rn. "If someone is always surrounded by drama and it's one nightmare after another, and they've been repeatedly supported to get out of their drama but it persists, give up trying to be their savior sooner rather than later. They only have drama in their life and that's why they keep it around. After all, without it what would they be left with? If you don't move away fast enough, they will take a part of your soul with them." It seems M. has adapted the drama circus.

Re: We have to keep trusting Mariah's intelligence (72,826) (72,836) by RibbonB from USA
Most people trust M., but not this team around her. Mariah's old team did their job IMO. They certainly seemed more protective of her image and were not as self centered and self promoting as this circus seems to be.

Re: The Grammys foiled me (72,825) (72,835) by Edward from USA
Well, these things are coming out of Mariah's mouth, so she's the one making it happen. Who effing cares if the Grammy's are boring or predictable, she, as a legend, shouldn't give a damn about it. By acknowledging them, she's just bringing bad PR her way. People won't be saying she dissed the Grammy's, they'll be saying she dissed whoever was there because she's bitter. If she were really that hurt, why didn't she turn down her nominations and wins on 2006? One thing that really bothers me is that whenever Mariah is asked anything anything Adele related, she doesn't even acknowledge her. It's either she didn't hear her album, the song, or she goes off on a tangent. Adele is talented, graceful, sweet, a mega star, and on top of that she adores Mariah. Why can't she effing say something remotely nice about her. It really gets on my last nerve. Who the hell is this woman, how do one connect to her through her music anymore? She gives a good performance and she thinks the gets a bitch pass because of that? I can't, I really can't.

Re: MW season 2 (72,827) (72,833) by B from USA
I forgot about the biopic. Why not have Lee do the biopic? He's talented director and writer or Danny Strong, cocreator of Empire? Stella needs to run their production company and hire a professional to write and direct their films with the acception [sic] of Mariah's Hallmark movies.

Re: The Grammys foiled me (72,825) (72,832) by B from USA
In 1996 they had the camera cut to and linger on her every single time she lost and in 2006 they used her to promote the show and gave her her awards off camera.

Re: The Grammys foiled me (72,824) (72,831) by B from USA
It is possible to be sabotaged. DCP claimed there wasn't any technical issues on their end and yet they handled everything not Mariah's team. Either Mariah's team sabotaged her equipment or she was given faulty equipment. It garnered a lot of press for DCP and RNYE with Ryan. They may not have sabotaged her but they didn't do her any favors by not defending her which is probably why Stella made those claims and convinced Mariah that it was sabotage.
