Shenzhen concert (108,723) by Brandon from USA
Xavier, I 100% agree with [you]. I wouldn't mind her lip syncing either if she did it masterfully like Celine or Beyoncé. Lipping should allow her to move more fluid, be more lively on stage and maybe add a couple of moves. Perhaps if she practiced more or hired a coach to help her, she could. But we know she won't.

Not to be too negative, but can we get a new creative director as well? Can we upgrade the production? Am I asking too much?

New Mariah album (108,722) by Zachariah from Croatia
Well, being from Europe and the only Mariah fan amongst my group of friends, this is an everyday question - does she have any other songs except All I Want For Christmas Is You? They just don't know any other songs. Or think, when they hear something on the radio, that that is Whitney Houston or similar.

I have a trouble with seeing her behind the scenes all bubbly and funny and engaged and then on the stage, she is like a Robocop. I think she sounded good and I thinks she is focused to not miss a tone or to hit hose difficult ones, that's why she is so stiff and "worried" on the stage. I mean, if I was lipysincing, I would walk around, dance a bit and just be playful.

I must absolutely agree with you. Last year I posted here a YouTube video where the TV presenter stated as a fact her birth date (March 27th 1970) in a TV show back in 1994 and she just confirmed it by saying yes. For me it was just obvious she was telling the truth, but you said that she just went along with it as a commercial strategy or something of the kind.

That's true. If she were just more convincing about the miming at least, it wouldn't be such a great deal. But this is out of control now and has been for a while when she started lipsynching whole concerts for the first time. I remember last year when I saw on YouTube the first Vegas show and it was lipped in its entirety except for 3 minutes of improvisations. I said here but very few people believed me even though it was totally obvious.

I'd like to think that some of her voice is still there. In fact, the new recordings have been done with her current voice. But I think she lacks stamina, vocal health, training, energy and the spirits in order to be singing live for an entire concert.

She should take a long break from performing, I guess. I was really surprised by the announcement of the international Celebration of Mimi tour. Isn't she (or the people around her) taking this nonsense too far?

New Mariah album (108,719) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
"The world wants a new Mariah Carey album right now." Why do you think that? I hear or read that nowhere. The world thinks Mariah is only relevant during Christmas.

It is heartbreaking. Why does she even go on tour anymore? Now I understand why there hasn't been any decent new music in almost a decade.

MC should just drop MC16 without a first single. Just drop the album after an announcement 10 minutes before midnight. Let social media drive digital sales for the two weeks and then begin a normal Mariah promotional blitz. It would work because the world wants a new Mariah Carey album right now.

I saw those clips too.. The Lambs on X (Twitter) went up in arms also. It was trending for the wrongest reasons. Something is going on with this woman and it's not good. Like something's wrong somewhere. Don't wanna say too much.

Do you know how you feel when you walk into a class for a test and you know you didn't study like you should have studied. MC is walking onto that stage without her voice and showmanship. She can't even pretend anymore lip syncing. We long today for performances like her MTV Unplugged concert in 1992. We were all amazed that we finally got to see how a Mariah Carey concert would look and sound like. The Proctor's Theatre concert amazed us again 1993. I just wonder if MC never toured during 1997-2003, if she would still have her 2005-2008 voice.

I didn't think she seemed as bad in the [China] concerts, much better than ones I'd seen before this. And I haven't been happy with her performances of late.

Mariah looked beautiful in her gowns but I could barely watch the clips. No expression in her face, barely moving, very low energy, looking zoned out for long periods of time. I'm trying to keep hope alive but we keep getting the same thing repeated each show.

Mariah has clearly come to terms with her birth year being 1969. She hasn't disputed it publicly in years, and the evidence has long been out there. Back in the late '90s, the principal of her former school confirmed she was born in 1969. A copy of her driver's license also surfaced online with the same year. But perhaps the most definitive source is the newspaper birth announcement, it's publicly available and explicitly states she was born in 1969. At this point, denying it serves no purpose. The receipts are there, and the facts speak for themselves.

Exactly, and she's hardly "elusive" given she's inescapable and unavoidable from Thanksgiving through to the New Year.

I agree, TAOLG was a beautiful title. It also fit in with where she was mentally at that time - slowly letting go of Nick. I also really loved the cover art for TAOLG with her sitting on the beach a lot more than the versions she used for MIAM. #Beautiful could very well have been a big hit, top 5 if not #1. It was fresh, sexy and her and Miguel's chemistry was great. I didn't like the videos because they were so lame, you Joseph Kahn to direct a video and that's what you do with it? He directed some of Taylor's biggest videos. I liked the remixes to #B too and don't understand why they didn't release the remix video because they said they did finish it. Another great single would have been Faded. Unpopular opinion but I really enjoy "Money" too, a high budget video with Mariah doing Mariah things (being glam and luxurious) while tying in some celeb friends for replay would have been Nice. Also don't get me started on the YME video - I enjoy the song but you finally get Mariah out of bed (or any indoor object she's laying around on in her videos looking sexy) and get her into the wilderness for a stunning shot only of her to be just sitting there covering her boobs in the same position the whole time. If you're going to do a play on the Little Mermaid story commit to it.

She actually did haha, in the promo for MIAM she says something about how she's had many nick names along the way and "lately they've been calling me The Elusive Chanteuse". Which was wild haha because by that point I was obsessed with her and had never heard anyone call her that. I can buy her actually having the name Mimi but TEC was a definitely made up. Also y'all let's stop fighting over her nick name and go back to fighting over her year of birth. Haha kidding.

I agree. The Art Of Letting Go is definitely the best title to define her personal life at that time. I believe if she sticks to that "letting go" theme for the album, then the album would have had more success. She should just release the album in 2013 right after she was done with American Idol finale with Beautiful as the first single, followed by You Don't Know What To Do for the summer hit single, then The Art Of Letting Go at the end of 2013, You're Mine for the Valentine single in 2014, then double singles released for Make It Look Good and Mesmerized, and ending the era of the album with classic cover Lullaby Of Birdland. Those 7 songs are enough to make that album a hit and put Mariah on the map for another successful comeback in 2010's era.

I believe the Elusive Chanteuse tiltle was a jab at Nick for never being at home the last year of their marriage. When MC said that people had started calling her that I was like who has been calling MC that. The title just didn't fit the MC that we have known for having such an incredible work ethic and being frank with people.

Facts. "Me. I Am Mariah" is a decent title, much like The Emancipation of Mimi. Then she added the Elusive Chanteuse... and that's where she lost me. Oh well.

At least she never stated that anybody called her that. That was just a very short title she came up with. "The Art of Letting Go" was definitely a better title. #20]

I found out on the web through a Google search and AI said that the TEOM vinyl reissue has been pushed back to June 6th. Three weeks later Barbra's new duets album will be released. I am curious how Barbra, Mariah and Ariana will sound together.

Upon googling research I found that May 20th is the “National High Heel Days” so the high heels should be referring to that. As to June 6th I really have no idea. It's a Friday so maybe there's gonna some new releases, the Barbra/Ariana collab I guess?

Has anyone seen the new video upload for the new DFAU remix? The visuals are of the 2025 calendar highlight certain important dates like Fourth of July, Christmas etc, it also has dates like Mariah's, the twins and Kaytranada's birthdays, it also has dates of milestone moments from Mimi but what interests me most is it has dates highlighted that we don't know what's happening. Like May 30th is in gold so we know that's the release of TEOM reissue but then June 6th has a caution/exclamation sign wonder what that is. It also has one where there are high heels not sure what that represents. The calendar also shows she's booked and busy hahah but surprisingly nothing about her holiday shows. Anyone has any guesses what the unknown highlighted dates mean?
