RJ, I share the same complaint about not enough Mariah on Mariah's World. I'm also disappointed in lack of tour rehearsals and Mariah singing. She filmed the entirety of her tour and she gave some epic vocals. She needs more of that and less made up backstage drama between background vocalist Tatum and some random dancer. Where is Big Nasty? He's hilarious and he also burst out into song. Is he gay, asking for a friend?

Yeah, Mariah is well on this path. Last funny point for the year though: someone on twitter asked Anthony why he didn't jump out of the cake along with the help BT? He responded "I am not a stripper." I love his willingness to throw shade a this own reality show. I still expect something redemptive from this show. Surely they have not leaked everything.

Yes M, preach. I agree with you. I'm exhausted with running to this board and reporting everything she does that annoys me. It's tiring. I know that her boobs are going to hang out in practically any outfit she wears. I know that Mariah's World is still on the air. I know that she is still semi-trying to promote this boring joint venture, oops, I mean relationship with Tanaka. But is there really a need to come here with a list of everything that pisses me off as if it's something new? The stuff she does is not shocking enough anymore for me to come on here acting brand new. Any issue that I have/had with Mariah have been stated in previous messages here. I think Mariah has been doing this stuff for long enough for it to truly be at the "take it or leave it" stage for fans, at least for now. That's not to say that she'll never change for the better, but as of now other than this Lionel Richie tour, there are no signs that anything is really going to improve anytime soon. I'm not saying that I'll never give Mariah constructive criticism again, but as of now, I've run out of steam.

I'm wishing you all a Happy New Year. Is anybody listening to Mariah's version of "Auld Lang Syne"? I will rock to the song. It's kitschy but it makes fun.

MW is actually pretty tame. My only complaint is its not enough Mariah. No offense to her crew but I'm not interested unless it has to do with the music. I know manufactured drama is what will probably keep non-fans watching but I'm not here for it. Everyone seems to notice how much she drinks on the show. Have you noticed that after every performance she is tossing them back? I know not to buy tickets to a back to back show lol, She did sound the best she had in years on that tour so I'll give it to her for at least getting her vocal rest in.

How can you say Lionel is relevant because of his daughters? It's the other way around. Obviously he is relevant if Mariah is a guest for his tour.

Mariah Carey on performing at the Superbowl (70,489)
by 123 from USA

I wish she would have the guts to do a halftime show and actually make a real spectacle. Some live belting would be appreciated. I hope the song is a hot uptempo banger. I'd even take an uptempo pop record as hers are always addicting. If she had a single ready it would be smart for her to drop it at halftime, even if she was sharing the stage like Beyonce did with Cold Play. It would coincide with the end of her reality show as well. Even though they were having splashes Mariah sounded good backstage on WWHL. I loved how he asked all the questions no one's supposed to except for the tired JLo one. I love how she belted at the end and did it twice and told them to go with the second take lol. She's still a perfectionist.

If so, I would prefer Mariah and Lionel do not re-record "Endless Love". It would undoubtedly be compared to her recording with Luther. When she re-recorded Hero, AIWFCIY, and any others I can't recall, they too were compared to the originals and if I remember correctly, not warmly received. I'm all for a duet CD of new and fresh material. I think it's a great idea. Now what if they record a live duet CD? That might be cool too. Then I suppose Endless Love would fit. I am looking forward to them doing the song live which they likely will. After all, Lionel wrote it.

I have been a fan since VoL. I have been a member of this message board since the early 2000s. I have been a staunch supporter of Mariah but also a "critical friend". I was a massive collector of her CD singles and 12" vinyls just so I could hear every new vocal arrangement and adlib on her songs. I had a digital collection of every live performance she ever gave on TV. I have never considered myself a "lamb" and never will. I do not buy into her "diva-ness", I do not buy into her merchandise, and I do not buy into her "scripted reality". For me, it has always been and will always continue to be about her voice. That's when I chime in on this message board more often than not; when Mariah gives us a "live" performance. I was the person who always found himself defending Mariah's reputation as an amazing vocalist to his friends and family post 1998 when they said she had lost it. The one who cringes every time a new person I meet says, "What happened to her voice?" or "She'll never sing as well as she did in the 90s." I have followed her every career move with increasing scepticism yet I will always go and see her perform when she's in my country. If the universe is good to me, I am hoping to see her next Christmas in New York. Still I would not like to be considered a lamb.

Randy, what I like about "Right to Dream" is that it is just Mariah and a guitar, as simple as that, so I give her credit for that. I don't particularly think is a masterpiece lyrically, but it's very decent and the message reminds us why her music have helped so many people. Mariah's voice also sounds amazing without having to tweak anything, it sounds real. I hereby declare "Right to Dream" as "Andy's Theme". I do like the fact that you're very passionate about Mariah's music. Just like you, many of us here know what she's capable of. Forget about the belting, about vocal acrobatics, number ones, and album sales, I think she still has the ability to produce a great critically acclaimed album, and I'm hoping for that. Oh, and that person who said "come back Edward" was just being sarcastic, obviously he/she meant the opposite, but since I do not know him/her, I didn't address that particular posts. Being part of this board since Eric started it 17 years ago, and as T.J. stated, we've seen many "super fans" come and go like flies on a wedding cake.

If she dresses with class in 2017 and ditches the diva act and adds a clause in her magazine, tv, and radio interviews that she'll only talk about her music and the tour, her music and keeps her answers short and sweet and appears down to earth, humble, and thankful like she was during TEOM era she'll be likeable. The act turns off the general public and members of the media because they don't understand her personality. She's hilarious but only if you know that she's fully in on it. Half of Mariah's World is her joking around. The only thing that I've found that I find concerning is she's constantly drinking which hurts her vocal cords. She needs to slay tonight and if she does lip give it your all you know how to you're a pro pretend you're filming a music video.

Right To Dream doesn't impress me much. Do you need to watch Tenesses [sic] to be able to relate to the lyrics or what? I've seen it praised by Edward and others and was at a loss for why they would include it among her best work lyrically. I'm going to give it another listen and read the lyrics. Happy New Years Eve, my MCA family we made it through 2016 and our girl is ringing in 2017 with Lionel Richie on the annual Dick Clark's NYE Countdown. I bet they duet and promote the tour tonight because it begins in three months and I've already got my tickets.

Where there's smoke there's usually fire. It would make sense and it would debut in the Top 5 (if not at #1) with their combined fan bases. Lionel is only relevant because of Nicole and Sofia (she dated Justin Beiber). If they duet on Endless Love and release it as a single I hope they film a simple black and white video with them using classic microphones and Mariah donning an elegant simple LBD (with little to no clevage showing). Mariah hire Rachel Zoe as your stylist for the promotional campaign and dress with class by wearing Valentino exclusively (off the runway not custom). Gaga did this when she did her duet album with Tony and it worked because she Gaga channeled a bygone era. Lionel also needs to wear tuxes ala Frank Sinatra. If done right this tour could be epic. Mariah and Lionel are legends and they have written all of their hits.

Mariah's World is growing on me as well. I'll wait until I watch part eight of the eight part docuseries (reality show) before passing judgement. I hope and pray it doesn't end with Mariah and BT frolicking on the beach (ala the staged leaked paparazzi pictures) with a voiceover from Mariah saying she's found love again unexpectedly. Stella Bulochnikov is definitely a member of the board. Which member who cares or knows but she needs to start taking our advice it ain't the 90's and it isn't 2005 or 2008. One an aside Mariah was fun on Seth's late night show despite the body suit and hooker boots. Mariah or Stella hire an A list stylist. Mariah is still considered and megastar, a global star and she needs to stop wearing ensembles for the House of Carey & Bulochnikov.

Happy new year to all of Mariah's fans (real or not). I will try to be nicer in 2017. I hope that Eric keep up the good work, and let this small community exist in years to come. Happy new year to the people I know in real life, and happy new year to the ones who just read the message board. At last but not least: Happy new year to Mariah and her family (you never know who reads all the messages). Peace and love, Tony.

I couldn't agree more. This real lamb/fake lamb discussion is getting so old and tired. I supported her everytime things went south for her. Just because some of us have no interest in her scripted relationships with JP and Tanaka (thank you Andy Cohen for asking her about the breakup agreement) or her jaw-dropping sense of dress (bras, diamonds, sometimes bubbles) doesn't mean we are not fans. Yes, this message board has an overall negative feel these days but that's not the fans' fault, is it? It wasn't always like this. Clearly some of us are tired of making excuses for her increasingly absurd behaviour. Regardless, she is still one of the top 5 singers in the history of recorded music. That's why I became a fan and that's what I will focus on. There will be occasional venting but overall I'm tired of criticising her. It's draining me and there's little point. She will continue to do Mariah. I just hope she continues to make great music, current or not.

Hi, let's not make it more complicated than it really is. The real lambs are the ones who trust her and who don't judge her, basically who are not prejudice, who don't represent the same type of people Mariah's been escaping and trying to emancipate herself from her whole life. Real lambs are friends and, even though we can have different opinions, even thought we don't necessarily agree with her all the time, there is no way - and I mean no way - we have a right to be condescending/harsh/insulting towards our friends, towards her, towards our Mariah. Peace and love, basically.

Same here TJ. It was Hero that made MC the pop biggest superstar in Malaysia but I was born as a lamb since VOL and never turned my back on her. I might disagree with her revealing chest area that way too much for our culture here but her music is always the reason why I should stay with her for all these years. For Malaysian in general, she is the voice. We did welcomed Salena Gomez with open arms but we never celebrate her as the VIP in music. Malaysian culture might be too strict with her sexiness but her music is always refered as the best in the game. If she dropped any new music soon, like anyone else in the board, I will be extremely happy. Oh yes... to Eric the boss of MCA, thank you for the effort, I visit this board twice a day just to check on anything Mariah and read every single message here. To all - happy new year 2017. Hope a better year for our queen.

For someone who only makes an appearance here when you have something negative to say or a complaint to make (scroll down and read your own messages), I'm not surprised you're one of the "since the beginning" fans. You guys have a weird sense of entitlement like Mariah owes you something for being there from the start. The real lambs are those fans who love Mariah unconditionally, taking the good with the bad. Yes there might be things she does we might not agree with but we recognize she's human first and foremost which means she too is prone to error. The real lambs are those who have embraced Mariah's work wholeheartedly not seeing a divide (old Mariah/new Mariah crap) but instead a woman who has evolved, grown and changed over time for the better as is the way it should be. We trust Mariah's sense of judgement (after all she has kept going 26+ years in an industry that's difficult and stayed relevant all by herself ) and don't ridicule her, nor criticize in a destructive way. We stay optimistic and unapologetic when it comes to Mariah and recognize she's the best to do it ever (all caps) anyway you wanna spin it, I don't care who your fave is, he or she can never be compared to my fave - Mariah Carey, the best of the best.
