Article: Mariah's ex James to blast her in "tell-all" book? (68,253)
by CloseMyEyes from USA

May, I don't think the fact that she avoids talking about music in interviews has anything to do with her being materialistic. I think she's guarding herself from getting her ideas stolen or from criticism about projects taking too long to come out. By the way, she talks plenty about her kids.

What I can't believe is that she is finally rocking her voice, having stage attitude, getting rid of her awkward stiffiness, working on new music, with many projects ongoing, it suddenly comes this ridiculous tide of drama. No one is saying anything, no Mariah, no James. Mariah all smiles as always, starting to make feel uneasy as they are probably fake and James in some cave hiding. What the actual heck is going on? Truly can't wait for the show to air so we can move on and talk new music. Mariah doesn't even want to hint what she is working on and hardly talks music anymore. It's all "look my new diamonds darling" and flashing the damn ring. Has she really become so materialistic? Probably she always was. I mean, from nothing to having it all, maybe it went over her head. Can't find some of her jokes funny anymore, the diva antics don't seem any longer, she is like a parody of herself. Someone pinch me, her late short interviews make me cringe.

Definitely. I honestly feel she sabotages herself. Then again as long as her voice is on point and she can still create good music I don't care even if she wants to pull a young Cher and appear on stage in thong and leather jacket haha. I'm crossing my fingers and rooting for some great music, no autotune, no features or guest stars, raw Mariah and just that.

Thanks Mara. When I saw the pic I though "wow how beautiful" because she looked so different. It makes her look slightly more mature but in a good way. She has the perfect color of skin for anything chestnut, auburn or plain red. I don't get why she insists in all the shades of blonde. It's like since she changed to it she didn't move from it. The almost bleached type doesn't suit her. I'm liking the ombre she has been wearing at times. Mariah would look radiant and fresh with a hairstyle change but considering eveeything that is changing right now it would feel like goo much too sudden. Maybe for a next album cover.

How sad it is part 2 (68,248)
by Sasha from Nomansland

To me it's clear that she really doesn't love herself and really has a low estime of herself. When I think of the past year I never thought she would fall so low. I've just watch an interview following or preceeding her Toronto show and she's absolutely unbearable. She really has issues with her image and age. It's getting more and more pathetic. She really needs to undergo a huge therapy.

I'm sure this mess won't stop until this ratchet show airs, but then again, they just might ratchet up the mess even more. I hope not. In the spirit of the holidays, I hope they just move on. SMH.

May I just have to say I love your pic. I really wish Mariah would do a makeover and try out a different hair color or style. We know Mariah's hair so it will always be long but a little off is ok too and a different style would be welcoming. I miss the dark hair. She looks so exotic and has such a beautiful unique mix that not everybody has that. If she was darker again with a few blond highlights she still would have light but the dark mixed in is a look i miss. Mariah looks great with other colors. When she plays Bianca she looks amazing with black hair and I can imagine a beautiful red color on her too. She has the face for just about anything. Enough with the full blond MC. Especially if she is wearing the wigs for shows? What harm would a different color every now and then be? Also loved the white goddess flowing dress. That style blowing in the wind on stage really looked great on her. I think it complimented her quite well and with that style she doesn't have to worry about being compared every night as to being bloated or whatever as it is much more flattering and forgiving as opposed to a skin tight latex pink balloon looking mess.

Haha you are right, it seems that even with some of the most well known stylists, Mariah manages to always choose the worst fashion. Heck she was hanging with Andre Leon from 2005-2007 and yet had some bad moments, but those were still tolerable because it wasn't consistently bad like it is now. We'd get a bad one every few months later. Now almost every single time it is a disaster. The Pepto Bismal crap she wore. What's the point? I understand if someone like Beyonce wears it because she dances and moves around a lot, I can understand if Rihanna wears it, because she is about that S&M image and this patent bodysuit with those boots fits into that category. Look, I'm not saying that she should ditch all bodysuits but please tell me how wearing a bodysuit for "Hero" is necessary? Haha. The red bodysuit was nice though. I also loved her original SSFT bodysuit, however not the other sparkly one that one looked liked a straight up bedazzled swimsuit. However I think for Mariah, she can get cute sparkly flirty short dresses, like this or this. This one that she wore for the press conference is really nice too. I also love this dress. A nice balance of sexy and classy. Anyways I can give many examples from her own previous onstage clothes that are really nice, without it being a bodysuit/gown/uber revealing. But oh well.

Hey Kajal, I feel the same way. I'm becoming a sad lamb\fan too. As you sad Mariah during the Butterfly era was the best looking singer ever. I admirered her in every way. To look at her now (since new management) is really hard. I barely recognize her in the latest pics. I thought of Mary Poppins, once she said she felt like that because of the perfection (Daydream time). I wish a little of that would come back. I although loved the Rainbow tour outfits. Sexy and yes so much fun, the nice colours and everything. Again I don't want to be negative, but it feels like I loose my idol. And that hurts. Mariah is not herself nowadays. Her inner spirit is missing.

What? No way. The dresses for the Butterfly tour were incredibly boring and said nothing at all, they consisted in a couple of sets of 2 very revealing pieces, a set of cute sailor suit and some plain nude mini dresses. Only one black sparkly dress that I recall can be picked from it, others were forgettable. Guess it was on purpose as her voice was the big show. I remember for the Rainbow time people complained about the boring ensembles and how some fans thought she had no class when she appeared on stage in mini shorts or with just a rolled tied tshirt and jeans, the media made fun of her when she appeared as a prom queen. Mariah is always hit and miss, with mostly misses in and out of stage. I'm actually liking the effort she is putting on stage, but the pink latex-vinyl leotard (I loved the boots) and that horrible salmon looking color dress she wore for Vegas I wished she would have passed. But in an interview she showed that atrocious salmon dress and said "this is so beautiful, it was sent from Paris". Who cares where it came from? I know it should have gone straight to garbage town.

The guy is actually not a bad stylist. He is also a costume designer. He worked for many top magazines and dressed people like Gwyneth Paltrow (who is probably the biggest diva on the planet and who only knows Paltrow-reality), Leighton Meester and other tv stars, Cindy Crawford, Demi Lovato, Pamela Anderson, etc. The guy is no innovator but he seems to fall and follow what's trendy. At the end of the day Mariah could always say "no darling not that" but if anything, I think it's her who asks for all this. I almost died laughing with the "damn Mariah, you look hot tamale" ahaha, I do picture her saying that in front of the mirror. It's almost obvious Mariah goes for these costumes on purpose, just look at the atrocious pink, she always wears some shade of terribad pink, she is not 15 and she is not a "mean girl", come on. I liked one of the sparkly leotards but it looked 2 sizes small. The orange dress was nice except for the scarf and I really liked the simple white one. I like her wigs as well. I don't believe it's the stylist fault but what Mariah wants to go for. She needs a stylist for her out-stage street look. She generally looks bad. And this comes from someone who loves Helena Bonham Carter raggedy doll casual style. I adore sexy Mariah but with shit like that golden jacket she wore with Khaled... what was she thinking, I wanted to cry.

Yes the voice alone, but she happens to favor Gladys too with the pixie haircuts and the high forehead and their skin tones. When I want to get lifted, Glaydys' Oh Holy Night is a go to song.

That Mariah performed Babydoll for the first time in forever? "Called yesterday, to basically say. . . " - we're lambs we know the rest. I think she still sounded great when she did sing in Mexico though. I couldn't tell if the I still believe was lipped or not.

19th Number one (68,235)
by Paul from USA
| |

I'm thinking as a project for all of the dedicated lambs, we should try and get Mariah her 19th number one. Here is how we can do it. AIWFCIY has been peaking on the Hot 100 at higher numbers the past two years since its eligible to chart now. I think if we figure out its peak week (2nd or 3rd week) you can announce on your site, FB, all social media, that all of the lambs in the land buy another copy and stream it as much as possible. Thoughts?

I can see Monica playing Gladys because of her voice alone. Gladys is a little bit stronger, but her and Monica kind of have a similar tone. Monica would kill Neither One Of Us, midnight Train To Georgia, or If I Were Woman. I'd love to here her attempt that last song.

Here is Gladys in that Oh Holy Night performance live. She masterfully works with both the background singers and the orchestra and as suave as can be. I rarely think of suave for women, but she is that here. Lol. She is me AF at 5:10, joy that today is Friday.

Yes Ms. Knight is a vocal beast, although I don't sit up and listen to her old music like I do Mariah, Aretha and my other faves. But Gladys is also a legend. Check out her version of Oh Holy Night on YouTube. It is a bit too long, but the climax of it is epic. Gladys still looks great. If they ever do a movie of her life, the singer Monica would be excellent for the part, both in looks and voice.

I always thought it was the style of many of her gowns that people didn't like. I've seen many use the word prom to describe them. She also needs to let go of the idea that a dress has to have plunging cleavage, Swarovski crystal, some type of shiny material, or unflattering cut outs. I still think that Mariah has had many good moments and she pulls them off. I also liked a lot of her dresses from the Rainbow tour; they were simple but cute and flattering. I think if she went for a more mature (there's that big word again lol) look (on and off stage) people would love it and honestly Mariah looks so much better when she goes for a classy look. I've seen some fabulous Marchesa, Ellie Saab, and Valentino gowns that I've thought that Mariah could rock. I wish she'd take a page out of Beyonce's book, no more leotards Mariah, as Beyonce's actually serve a functional purpose, but the fact that most of her leotards are gorgeous because she gets them custom made by some of the top designers for top fashion houses: Balmain, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, etc. And if she still only wants to do the leotard thing, then, still go the Beyoncé route because whoever designed that Pepsi Bismol mess needs to be forced to push a boulder uphill and Mariah and co. need to push their own for thinking it looked good.
