Tough love for MC (66,793)
by ZachSingsMariah from USA

|
|
So the much-anticipated song "Infamous" from "Empire" has now been released. And I am going to be honest I think this is yet another low point for Mariah. This song reminds me of "Triumphant" in that she continues to be the feature artist on her own songs. When I saw her in Vegas earlier this month, she alluded to her plans for a big comeback. Well, I am sorry to say this is not it. The hook is non-existent, her vocals are too processed, and that auto-tune rap verse is straight out of 2006. Quite frankly, it is boring. I love Mariah with all my heart, but she has not put out a good single since #Beautiful. (Notice I said single; I loved the MIAM album as a whole.) #B was a brilliant duet. "Infamous", on the other hand, is already among the least memorable records I have ever heard from her. Lambs, let's not blindly pretend that this is up-to-par with what we should expect from an artist as brilliant as Mariah.

Ya but her team can only do that if they stop vacationing and actually work. Bey's team is not out and about following her all over the world on vacations with their entire family and extended family. Stella on the other hand is too busy posing on other people's private jets, pretending it's hers to really sit and chalk out a game plan to get Mariah's image in check.

Miley has already been inducted into the "I don't know her" hall of shame. Once people go there, they officially lose out any potential of topping charts. Demi's "musical efforts" went completely unnoticed even after it was heavily promoted. Ariana still didn't get a #1 hit even after she basically was all over the place and her recent album didn't get much attention. JLo is not even considered to be a "singer". So ya Miley should have stuck to people of her own level but she "reached for the stars" (sung a la "Triumphant").

Miley vs Mariah (66,788)
by Edward from USA

Stop shading and going against Miley Cyrus. These lambs are so touchy. Mariah is definitely about what she wears. On the contrary, if you look at Miley riding on her wrecking ball, it's clear she's not about what she wears, she's deeper than that. She's so deep they want people to see her, naked. And besides, 20 years from now, a whole new generation will be "twerking" thanks tor her and her horns. As for Mariah, she'll be remembered for a no so popular Christmas tune, 18 mere #1's songs, the voice of a generation and just 200,000,000 sold. If Mariah twerked, she would definitely be more inspired. I'm sorry, but Miley win this one.

Vision Of Love plus Infinity live BBMAs 2015 (66,786)

Looking back to her performance that night, I re-watched it today, I cringe and felt sad for her on how uncomfortable, unease, and pressured she is on that stage. That feeling when I wish I could stop her from doing that performance because she is not that 100% confident. I'm glad Vegas boost up her confidence again and improved her stage presence. Excited to see her do live TV performances again.

My biggest issue with Miley's comments is not what she said, but the hypocrisy of it all. "It's about what she's wearing, and it's about her. What I make isn't about me. It's about sharing my story; it's about someone being connected to what I'm saying." How on earth is twerking, acting like a wannabe thug and sticking your tongue out constantly, "sharing your story" or inspiring people to connect with your work? She's one to talk. In terms of the comments itself, I don't blame her for feeling that way. Mariah leads with the narcissistic diva personality gimmick and not the substance that she actually has, so what else are people going to think? This is the type of stuff that happens when you're 46 but want to conduct yourself like you're 21. People come at you crazy and think they can talk about you any type of way without respect. I don't feel bad. Even if Miley felt this same way about Patti Labelle or Aretha Franklin for example, she probably would have never said that because she most likely respects them as legends. Mariah doesn't want anyone to see her as a legend but as an "eternally 12" year old, so she can't get shocked or mad when someone's talking about her like they're in 7th grade gym class instead of like a grown ass woman. At the end of the day, Miley's comments mean nothing, so who cares? Next.

Learning from mistakes (66,784)
by Letters From Adi from India
| |
|
|
It's pointless to cry over spilt milk. This sequence of these unfortunate events may have a silver lining. Mariah's team needs to learn from their mistakes. Miley is just at it again. She thrashed Gaga in 2013, Nicki in 2015, when she had to release new music. This time she's picking Mariah. I find pitting popstars against another degrading. The newer generation has a vision of Mimi being a diva who tries too hard and fails over and over. But contrary to that, I believe that this can be benificial to her. Media tried to thrash Bey back in 2011, but her team was clever enough to stop the rumors and negative press instantly. Mariah needs a team like that in my opinion. She will always have the respect from the previous generations who have witnessed the peaks of her creativity and prowess. If Mariah is smart enough, she can actually turn the tables in her favor. An image rehaul will get her massive support she lost through the years. I have faith in you, Mimi. (Sorry for the long post lol.)

Mariah and Walter (66,783)

I have to agree with most of you when you all say Mariah and Walter made magic together musically. But to be honest I doubt that we will ever see these two work together again and even though the fans will embrace it with open arms I think we should just should respect Mariah's decision to not work with Walter again because we do not know all that went on between them behind the scenes and how tense things became.

Oh yes. For me Mariah and Walter were a "dream-team". Two excellent musicians who create songs with magic that will last forever. I love all the collaborations with Walter. Some songs he wrote with Celine Dion and Josh Groban are beautiful too. But I fear Mariah won't reunite to work with him.

The good thing is who is interested what Miley Cyrus thinks? A Disney girl who needs to shock as a strange punk-version on a wrecking ball. For what is she known for? For twerking, this is of course what a real singer-songwriter should do. Lol. Sorry all you can do is laugh about that kid's opinion.

A lot about Mariah is inconsistent - frustratingly so. However, her stand on loyalty and friendship isn't one of those. We all know by now that once you've wronged her or she's wronged you in one way or another, regardless whose fault is it - you're dead to her. If you wanna get shady, then best believe that she's more game with that more than you even are. But if you're friends with her, she will keep you around, no matter what people say. That explains why Walter isn't around and JD still is.

Favourite album list (66,778)
by Bill from the UK
| |
|
|
I always have a hard time ranking MC's albums as it varies on mood and what head space I am currently in. What I did was rank each on vocals, then the songs within, to give me an overall ultimate list of album ranking. The result was kind of surprising. This isn't to say any of the albums are bad, Mariah is my favourite because her albums form my "top whatever" no matter who is included. Anyway, I thought I would share for anyone interested or for you to make your own lists this way (sorry to everyone who dislikes lists but I love them). Unplugged not included but it is actually my all time favourite lol.
Vocals: 1. Merry Christmas 2. Emotions 3. Mariah Carey 4. Daydream 5. Butterfly 6. Emancipation 7. Music Box 8. Me I Am Mariah 9. MCIIY 10. Glitter 11. Rainbow 12. Memoirs 13. Charmbracelet 14. E=MC2
Songs: 1. Butterfly 2. Emotions 3. Daydream 4. Emancipation 5. Music Box 6. Me I Am Mariah 7. Rainbow 8. Mariah Carey 9. Glitter 10. Charmbracelet 11. Merry Christmas 12. E=MC2 13. Memoirs 14. MCIIY
Overall: 1. Emotions (4) 2. Butterfly (6) 3. Daydream (7) 4. Emancipation (10) 5. Music Box (12) 6. Mariah Carey (11) 7. Merry Christmas (12) 8. Me I Am Mariah (14) 9. Rainbow (18) 10. Glitter (19) 11. Charmbracelet/MCIIY (23) 12. Memoirs (25) 13. E=MC2 (26)

Miley Cyrus (66,777)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|

This Miley Cyrus comment about Mariah is part our beloved Mariah's fault as her over the top demeanor and antics have become very offsetting. At the same time Miley is one to talk as all she is known for nowadays is her 2013 performance with Robin Thicke at the VMA's and weed smoking. Honestly I think Miley needed a target to promote herself being on the new season of The Voice. On another note she claims not to like Mariah yet she covers her Christmas song talk about hypocrite but if I took Miley seriously something is wrong with me lol. The same one who gave her last album away for free and it still bombed talk about jokes writing themselves.

If you read the actual extract here, she's not really shading her. You can't have a series coming out called Mariah's World that's been marketed with the sentence "it's Mariah's world, we're all just living in it" without expecting people to have this opinion. Mariah is capable of writing music that isn't about her that people can connect to (and she has), but whilst she continues to become a parody of herself and play up on the "diva" act, people will continue to not take her seriously and have opinions like this.

But it's interesting that these two young pop stars have in fact covered All I Want For Christmas Is You. Just discovered that Miley tweets about Mariah last 2014: "#MC = me obvi @MariahCarey & Monte Carlo life is [censored] grannnndddddddddd".

Hey guys, I don't usually chime in on here,I just like to read what your views are, so I haven't been on here lately and now I'm shocked to see everyone talking about this meet and greet mess, the guy who everyone is talking about, his name is Bobby and yes he is a super fan, that is the only thing he is guilty of. I know him personally and he is the kindest down to earth person I know, we met during Mariah's first year at Beacon Theater and we went to every show together that year, but last year I didn't have a ticket to one of the shows and he gave me a 300$ front row seat and he didn't want his money back, remember that we only see each other in December, but he is actually that sweet to give a complete stranger such a great gift, and he gave me a gift bag with 100$ worth of MC merch for no reason, I know for sure that Mariah loves him because he is always there for her, wherever she might be, idk what happened with the meet and greet but I know that he has mariah's assistant's number and they talk everyday, if they wanted to stay away from him they wouldn't be giving out their numbers, Bobby is my friend and I would appreciate if you guys wouldn't make fun of him because he is "6'3 and stalkerish" that's just being a bully, never judge a book by its cover. I know I'm gonna get jumped I'm just waiting. And this is Bobby, for everyone who is wondering.

Yes, I agree. I don't post here often, but I had to make sure this gets seen. If she's somehow still looking at the Internet, I hope she sees this. If she's been able to forgive JD, then I think this would be one of her most brilliant moves. For people that claim that "used" to like her, a lot of that was the other sound she was able to make with Walter. I know she's capable of it on her own, but he brings it out of her. Some of my favorite songs, she did with him.

It's really hard to take anything Miley has to say seriously at this point. With all the stupid stunts that Miley pulls it's hard to remember she's actually talented. I'm not a fan of how Mariah has been focusing on her looks lately, but this criticism comes from someone who feels twerking in front of kids, licking wrecking balls naked, and dry humping dolls on stage tells her story. It's laughable and not worth worrying over. Lol.

I nearly lost my first coffee of the day I laughed so hard at that. This is coming from the girl who goes on stage wearing silicone boobs and a 15 inch dildo. Yet another artist trying to use Mariah's name to stay relevant. Just goes to show how much of a force Mariah is in that industry.

There was a post 66,519 from Letters From Adi with Bling Gossip article link one week ago. I hoped it was not about Mariah. But who cares about Miley's opinion? Long time ago I've read in one article that people only either adore Mariah, or hate her. There is no in between. Anyway. There is no such thing as bad publicity. Miley knows it better than anyone.
